K Sue smiled happily at the boy. He seemed to be her age which was cool. "Hello" smiled but didn't offer her name yet because Coco had asked a question. "Umm I would like to go to our cabin if that's ok my Mama packed a lot for me and it a little heavy." Not wanting seem like a total baby she adds quickly " But ill be ok if you guys would rather look around first." K Sue also wanted to check on her teddy, she had been in that bag the whole trip. Not once had K Sue had the never to take her out, she really just couldn't stand the idea of being made fun of about the bear her Nana had made for her. Shacking her head to get the sad thought way, K Sue wasn't about to tell strangers that baby story so she waited for the others to pick which way they went.

"Let's go to the cabin," Aben agreed, while wanting to explore the sanctuary and reptile house, he wanted to put his bag down first and that shouldn't take too long. The wildlife was what convinced him to go on this trip. Going to new places made him nervous, but the chance of seeing new and exciting creatures outweighed it.
"Oh, my name is Aben! Nice to meet you," he quickly said, wings pulling tight against his back as he realized he hadn't introduced himself yet.

"Perfect!" The bus had come to a halt, and everyone was pouring off. Nadi joined the stream, glancing back at her companion occasionally. She easily found her bag, this time please she'd packed a rolling bag. Didn't seem like a liability this time! She righted it, and started to drag it towards the nearest block of room.
"You think these look good Nashira? I won't lie, I'm pretty tuckered out from all the travelling and can't wait to sleep." It was odd- she'd been napping on and off the the most of the day, and yet she still felt like she wanted to go to bed.

Leto smiled and still kept his wings pretty close to his body but none the less moved them out a bit again, since a six hour bus ride was sure to be murder on poor wings. " if you are sure. I mean I don't mind keeping them close to me since they do in fact take up a lot of space."
"As for familiars, no I don't mind at all. flitterats are rather adorable. He is free to bother away if he wants." Leto answered and thought of his small band at home. He wished he had brought one but considering most of them where rather delicate he didn't want to chance it.
The rest of the afternoon sort of passed in a blur until they where stopping for the night. Leto did find it sort of fascinating watching as the scenery changed. Spending the night in a lodge would also definitely be new. It would be fun to see how different it would be from a hotel. Now to some how figure out rooming situations.
As he half heartedly listening to music, he sat back against the seat and just watched the extra people coming on board. It had been a while since he had mostly just people watched. He knew the likelihood of having the seat to himself for the rest of the trip was unlikely so he wasn't too surprised when he was asked if the seat next to him was onen.
It had been a while since he had talked to another chimera that wasn't either Mai or Soriya and they didn't count as they were family. It wasn't like he had an aversion to them at all. So with that thought he removed the earbuds before nodding.
"seat is totally free. You are quite welcome to it." He replied.

Coco nodded and she said. "Nice to meet you Aben, I'm Coco." She nodded to Kayla Sue and said. "Alright then let's go to our cabin." Coco looked at the number on their key cards and took the two freshlings to the cabin listed on the card. Coco opened the door to the cabin, it had a small shared space. There were three bedrooms one with a pair of bunk beds and two with twin beds in them. "Alright, what beds do you two want to sleep in??" Coco asked with a small smile on her face. These freshlings were really nice.
Gods help him. Could he just pretend to spontaneously fall asleep, or something? No, of course not. That would be too easy. As such he waited for her to write her questions and then set about answering them as concisely as possible.
"Yes, it's hot. Yes, there's sand. We like the heat, but Naga like it more. No, I don't have any friends. I've been at the Academy since I was probably about your age. Still don't have any friends. How nice for you to have found friends for yourself." Having concluded answering her questions, he handed the paper back to Kanda and yawned. It was way too early in the morning for all of this, and while spontaneous narcolepsy wasn't going to happen, he was starting to feel weary. It was going to be a long trip, so it made sense to spend some of it asleep anyway.

From the brief glance he’d given her before he dropped his eyes, Cyril didn’t see anything on her face aside from concern maybe. It could have been pity. B-but he was pretty sure it was concern. Either way he focused on what she was saying but he got the feeling he missed something. “I checked one out from the library because I wanted to know more about the ruins and the Swirling Sands, but I didn't see the one you have” Oh-oh, she had already checked something out? So she had her own book. . . Cyril felt a spike of surprise when she offered to trade books. He cautiously nodded, handing over his in exchange for hers. From a glance at the cover, it was one he, surprisingly, hadn’t read yet. “Y-yeah. I-I-I’d like that,” he murmured softly, feeling a bit more settled.
With that, he settled further into the seat, careful not to squish his cockatriel. It probably didn’t look like the most comfortable position, with his knees pulled up and braced against the seat in front of him and leaning against the window, but he felt it provided the most stability. As he carefully flicked through the pages, absorbing the information, hours passed. At rest breaks, or whenever he found something particularly interesting, he would have a brief conversation with Jacintha, but aside from that was quiet. It was nice.
After they passed through the portal he could feel the heat seeping in through the window. Not enough to be uncomfortable, but enough to tell it was warmer. His first impression of the desert was that it was empty. There was a lot of sand. And dunes. It took a while to realize it wasn’t quite as deserted as he had thought. When they arrived, Cyril was grateful to get off the bus. The water was especially nice. He’d finished his bottle hours ago, even with him refilling it any time they stopped. He gathered up his bags and then stalled, unsure where to go or who to room with.

sorry it took so long, gaia kept trying to tell me I was a robot after i was all ready to post.
Kanda’s mouth dropped when he said he didn’t have any friends. Turning the notebook back around again, her next note was brief. For her anyway. ”I’ll be your friend then!!! Then you can’t say you don’t have any!!” She practically pushed the notebook into his face to show him it. Her eyes held a determined glint. There wasn’t a doubt in her mind that he’d want to be friends.
Seeing his yawn made her yawn, again flashing her large fangs. Once Enomu held her notebook, she rubbed her eyes. She wasn’t tired though! She wasn’t! Though, how long were they gonna be on the bus for the way there? Her papa hadn’t told her that. Or maybe he did but she hadn’t paid attention.

Enomu has made a grave mistake, telling her that he had no friends xD Also, sorry it's so short. Didn't feel right to skip just then.

"I think they are adequate? We are talking about the lodging, aren't we?" She actually wasn't sure what else Nadi could have meant. "Though to be honest, I do not intend to spend much time at the lodge, other then to sleep. The familiars... I'm so excited, I don't think I can sleep without exploring the grounds. I want to learn about the rare familiars we were told about."
It was true. She really just wanted to go out and interact with all the familiars, even though it would likely be best if she slept some. Maybe just that little reptile house? She really wanted to see all the familiars! "...Maybe I will just wander around for an hour and explore..." She said wistfully.

Enomu recoiled, initially because of the notebook being pushed in his face and then at what it said. Oh Nine help him. Whoever said honesty was the best policy was a filthy liar. Still he said nothing and instead made himself yawn again when she did before putting down her notebook and turning away to pillow his head on his arms. He wasn't sure he was going to sleep, but he would certainly fake it so she'd stop bothering him.
Somehow he managed to sleep until they arrived, or at least he told himself he had. Maybe there had been some moments when he'd gotten up to use the wash room or enjoyed a pit stop to stretch his legs, but Kanda had been constantly around so he chose to tell himself he'd just been dreaming. When they finally got to the lodge he disembarked with the others and grabbed his bag from the luggage compartment, then headed for the lodge, all the while hoping he could elude Kanda. He didn't want friends. Friends left, so it was just easier to avoid that problem in the first place.

"I'm glad!" Vega now didn't mind opening his bag and letting the starry fliterrat climb into his hands. He smiled at Nova as the familiar stretched his wings. "I bet your wings get cramped on bus rides like this, don't they Leto? I think Nova's would have been cramped if he had to stay in my bag. I brought him because I didn't know if any of my friends were going to be on this trip, and I didn't want to be lonely." He made small, idle chatter, but not so much as to be a pest.
When they arrived at the lodge, Vega was glad. Sure, the rest stops had been nice, but they always felt too short before they had to get back on the bus. At least by the time they had gotten to the lodge, Vega felt familiar with Leto. "Do you want to be roommates?" He asked, since Leto was the only person he knew on this trip. "I'll understand if you'd rather find your own friends of course." He placed his rat on his shoulder and smiled. There had to be others out there who wouldn't mind having a familiar in the room... right?
Whatever response she had expected, it hadn’t been for him to just go back to sleep! Her ears flattened and she put her notebook away. Maybe, maybe he had just been really tired? Kanda waited a few moments, but he just stayed that way. So finally she hopped down and went over to Vüsala, asking him for a blanket. He glanced between her and her seatmate then reached down to pull out a mini travel pillow and blanket.
Carrying both back to her seatmate, she scooted closer until she could wrap the blanket around both of them and then she cuddled close so she could lean against him. Her tails made the soft swishing nose as she wagged them, happy to have made a new friend. It wasn’t surprising when she fell asleep too.
Whenever there were breaks, Enomu didn’t seem to want to talk with her very much, but that was ok! She let him nap and alternated between sitting next to someone else and chatting with them and napping next to the bakeneko. When they reached the lodge, she had to find Vüsala so she could get the rest of her stuff. She insisted that she already had a roommate and refused to let him talk her into rooming with him and the three other chaperones. Then she went off to find her new friend.

If you wanna have him room with someone else, that's 100% A-ok, but she's gonna look for him. Lemme know if you want them to room together, or if she's gonna have to find someone else to bunk with c:

Thomas took Iron's hand too, trying not to laugh at the politeness of it all. Well, it was certainly... different to what he was used to. Turning to grin at Arthur, he waved half-heartedly at his drink."I'll cook you up some pastries any time for a sip of coffee, prof,"He offered with a sly smile.
During the long bus trip, Thomas slithered up and down the carriage, making light conversation and playful quips here and there. He noticeably avoided the children and tended to turn cold and curt when anyone asked him about his experience with the swirling storms. He always found himself returning to the two demons at the front, however; whether it was because he was the first he interacted with or something else was anyone's guess. When Arthur mocked him with a pastry, Tom made a mock-grab for it, his forked tongue poking out through his stitches at the demon.
When they finally got to where they were staying, Thomas rolled his eyes at the reception they were receiving. Hopefully he wouldn't spot anyone from his childhood... Distracted by cold thoughts, he almost didn't hear Iron talk. Something about being roommates? Chuckling, he leaned his back against the wall and grinned at the two of them."'Course loves, sounds like a plan,"He agreed, folding his arms casually,"I should warn you though, my tail seems to have a mind of its own when I'm asleep."He shot a sidelong glance at Arthur, rattling the tip of his tail dramatically.

Nadi yawned, and leaned on the door to the cabin. "I'm sure it's totally safe for you to go and check them all out. I mean, everything is well lit. And it looks nice. " She hefted her bag back forward onto its wheels, and tried the door. It opened easily.
"Don't worry about waking me up when you come in. I'm pretty sure I'll be out for the count." She glanced into the cabin, noting the two extra beds. "Looks like we'll also probably end up with some extra guests. That's cool. I'm gonna take that far bed by the wall." The Dryad briefly disappeared into the cabin, depositing her rolling bag.
"You want me to put your bag on a bed, so you don't have to haul it around while you're looking at the familiars?"
