Voice ActorName: W'dre (Formerly Wadre)
Age: 29
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: It is a mystery
Weyr: High Reaches
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: --
Physical Description: W'dre has a hollow look about him, with dark red hair, and dark eyes and pale skin that gives him an almost dead look. Not that he lacks vitality; despite his appearance on the surface, he is known to be stronger and more energetic than he looks - he's a very impressive climber and has survived more falls from high places than he should have.
Personality: Two things about W'dre proceed him: He is a man of his word, and he is
suicidally so. He will follow through on any task he accepts to take on even if it shouldn't be feasible. He doesn't make everything look easy, however, but despite any external struggle, he will see it through - at the cost of harm. Good luck getting him to do anything, however. He very rarely holds conversations long enough to get anything added to his plate. Some have been surprised to discover he isn't mute, as he can easily go weeks and even months without talking to another human being, though he listens with rapt attention. He will never offer to help, but he usually won't turn down any requests for assistance. In fact, someone bold enough to ask for his help outright without dallying for small-talk may find him
particularly willing. Desparation has a way of making one not care if they look that way, as far as he's concerned.
Failure doesn't suit W'dre, more willing to throw his corpse against something in futility, but it's hard to tell exactly what he feels when he does manage to fail at anything he's put himself too - usually because he's worn himself to a point of frailty, on top of his usual silence. Once talked out of pursuing his task any further by Dormith, his usual silence will be joined by dead expressions.
W'dre wouldn't describe himself as a smart individual, and any prompting on his thoughts on anything happening in real time will, at best, be answered with a 'I'm still waiting to see'. He acts on his thoughts much more quickly than he forms them, by which point they are fully drawn out and prepared. Think, then act, and he sure spends a lot of time thinking.
Unsurprisingly, he's the type that likes to sit quietly and watch things for a long time. He favors the outdoors and enjoys finding high places with his soulmate to sit and watch the world go by. His relationships with other people are by far more about the other person than they are about himself as far as W'dre is concerned. What he lacks in verbal communication, he makes up for in facial expressions. At least when he's engaged. He doesn't have much to give emotionally (or so he thinks), but he will at least put on his best face to make those he's let into his bubble feel special.
History: W'dre does not talk about the past. Born in a small minor hold, the young man was one of few survivors when an unknown illness came through the town. At the age of 12, he made his way on foot to the next hold over, carrying his ailing sister. While the healer the next town over was able to get her back up on her feet, the young woman would remain with a fragile constitution: and Wadre would begin a slow life of working himself to the bone to both repay what had been given to his only living family member, as well as pull both of their weight so she could rest and hopefully regain her strength over time.
Ultimately, her frail constitution would give way when the next minor illness passed through and at the age of 14, Wadre also buried his sister. Never the less, he persisted, continuing to work to pay off what efforts had been made on her behalf. At 15, he was Searched (even if the Searchrider questioned the supposedly mute boy). It would be the next turn in which a dark bronze would present himself before the young man and lay claim.
Other: W'dre is a bit of a sketcher. Mostly because he spends so much time looking and eventually just puts things to paper.
