Student name: Kyla
Prompt: stop spreading germs
Response: Kyla tapped her pencil for a moment while she thought about all of the things she was supposed to do when she was sick. “I wash my hands before eating and after getting dirty. If I’m sick, I’m supposed to spend more time in the pools in the freshling dorm, but I’m also supposed to shower first so I don’t make other kids sick. The pool gets closed to be cleaned too, I think they add chemicals to kill bad things? There's a lot of big words on the bottles and danger pictures too.” She went back through her response, erasing a few words to spell them correctly...maybe, before handing it in to the teacher.

Student name: Rosline
Prompt: stop spreading germs
Response: "You have to wash your hands good! Specially if you cough in them and when you touch gross things. And make sure when you cough you cover your mouth or tilt your head into your shirt if you can't." Rosline called cheerfully. There was a lot of ways to not spread germs but those are the few she remembered.

Prompt: stop spreading germs
Response: "It is called hand sanitizer. You keep it on your person. When people are gross and touch things you need to touch, you squirt or spray the sanitzer on it and then scrub away allll the germs," Billie said, bored and grumbled slightly. This class was rather boring. They really rather be outside doing something.

Student name: Pippi
Prompt: stop spreading germs
Response: User Image Pippi was bored out of her mind with this class she wanted to exercise, run around throw a ball or something physical not talk about germs.

Sighing, she spoke up "Wash your hands is one way to keep germs from spreading. If you sneeze or cough cover your mouth before you do and immediately wash your hands. It's not that hard to do!" with that she sat down in her seat with a humph.

Student name: Milseain
Prompt: stop spreading germs
Response: Milseain felt trapped sitting here, she really wanted to be done with this class so she could go play. She was getting restless and could not contain her energy. Standing up suddenly she said "Simple, wash your icky hands, use that nasty smelling stuff you put on your hands when there is no soap or wear gloves like the doctors wear" and she began to pace about the room. She hated feeling caged in and she was beginning to feel like it was that way in this class today.

Student name: Georgette
Prompt: Archery, like a shot in the dark!
Response: Well... if he’d gotten any further from the target, he’d have hit another student. Georgette looked down at his bow with a disappointed look on his face, as if the bow had somehow been at fault for the miss. He sighed at trotted away from the shooting line to put the bow back where it belonged. He hated losing, and that’s pretty much just what he’d done. If he had less control over his temper, he’d probably have tried to break the bow across his thigh.

Student name: Talia
Prompt: stop spreading germs
Response: Talia quietly looked at the paper in front of her, trying to think about what she could do to stop the spread of germs, or at least what she could remember to stop it. She quietly wrote on the paper, rather than talking to anyone else.
  • Wash your hands
  • don't share food or drinks
  • don't sneeze on others
  • stay at home when you are sick
  • cover your mouth when you cough

She tried to see if she could remember anything else, but right now nothing was coming to her. She felt like there could be more, but was satisfied with her paper for now at least.

Student name: Lys
Prompt: Archery, like a shot in the dark!
Response:
Quote:
Her mother had been horrified when Lys had expressed an interest in going Below.

"You'll end up just like your cousin, chopping off your hair and spending all day as a horse."

At the time she had thought Mom might have been exaggerating just a little, but as it turned out, Gahl had cut his gorgeous, calf-length locks and he did spend an inappropriate amount of time in his other, less humanoid form. But Lys wasn't surprised. Golly had always been a bit of a weirdo. It was why she had followed him around so ardently when they'd been small. In a world full of shampoo, sickness, and simpering, her cousin had been a pillar of creativity and change that had drawn her attention even when she hadn't intended him to.

Lys had only been attending Enoch for a handful of months now, but she'd already learned more than she had in all of her seventeen years Above, or at least it felt that way. On the days when she wasn't pleasantly overwhelmed, she often pondered what it might be like to go back home armed with the knowledge she now possessed. Nine times out of ten, she decided such a trip would end horribly, and not just because she'd taken a page out of her cousin's book and cut her hair. She was already too different. She had been even before she had left.

Those rare times when homesickness led her to conclude that it might be possible to return were outliers and should not be counted.

At the moment, none of that mattered, however. Today in phys ed they were shooting things.

"Gahl, look!" Lys said, holding up her bow and waving it around ineffectually. She nocked an arrow as well as she could once her cousin was watching her, and fired it at the target, hitting a spot halfway between the bullseye and the edge. Hm. Not as impressive as she might have liked, but she supposed it was as good as her noodly arms were going to do without practice. She smirked at the other kirin's perpetually serious expression and passed him the bow.

Student name: Gahl
Prompt: Archery, like a shot in the dark!
Response:
Quote:
Little Lys. As a kid, Gahl had dreaded her presence, not because she was all that annoying overall, but because he was so quiet and she... was not. He had been surprised to find he'd missed her when he had gone, the way she had looked up at him with wonder, convinced he'd hung the moon.

Down Below he had expanded his mind, but his already scant social skills had stagnated further with no one to push him out of his comfort zone. By the time Lys had arrived to surprise him again, Gahl had been almost feral, only remaining close to the school to lurk in his smattering of classes before darting back into the woods. He had always thought his isolation had kept him hale and fit as a child, but seeing how his cousin had grown up tall and healthy following her bouts of youthful illness had made him realize his familial stock might have been heartier than he'd thought. He still didn't miss the rest of them.

Gahl took the bow when Lys offered it, hoping to outdo her just a little, but unwilling to taunt her before he did. The kirin nocked an arrow much as she had, then shot it toward the target, his mouth falling open slightly in surprise when he saw where it ended up.

"Almost the same," Gahl said, measuring the distance between shots with his eyes. The arrows were on opposite sides of the target, but at identical heights. It was uncanny.

"Cool."

Prompt: Archery, like a shot in the dark!
Response: User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Alexander took the bow in his hand and tried to pull it back right but when he let go the bow went up and the arrow ended up in the ceiling as far from the target as he could get. His cheeks heated to a pink colored and he rubbed the back of his neck. Then he laughed oh well he wasn't good at this either but he would find what he was good at and liked doing. He hoped firefighting would be his thing. He hadn't expected health class to be about shotting arrows today. He sat back then to watch the others take their turns.

Student name: Yaruka
Prompt: Archery, like a shot in the dark!
Response: The activity chosen had Yaruka raising an eyebrow. Archery? That was....new. She honestly had never tried to shoot ANYTHING, really.....but she did like the idea of archery. She could recall holding a bow only once out of curiosity and it had been fascinating....now they were being passed around and being given a single pracice arrow. She stood in front of a target and looked down at the bow in her hand uncertainly. She didn't really have a good feeling about this....or anything lately. She was probably going to fail....or do something stupid like shoot another target entirely because of how bad she missed....or break the bow string before she even shot. Still....she had to give it a shot. She took a deep breath and notched the arrow, pulling it back and looking down the shaft of the arrow towards the target. She was already shaking but as she exhaled, she stilled herself and fired. Not only did she not break the bow but the arrow actually hit a decent spot on the target! It wasn't a bullseye, sure, but it was in the third-to-center ring! That was honestly better than she ever thought she'd do and she felt a bit of pride return. Maybe this wasn't so bad after all.

Prompt: Archery, like a shot in the dark!
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Response:
Seren probably wasn't giving this task as much credit as it was due. While waiting in line for his turn, the geist was goofing off with some of the other seniors. The group of four pretended to shoot each other with invisible bows and arrows while the others ducked or rolled dramaticaly out of line to avoid being hit. They all tried very hard not to draw too much attention from the teacher to avoid getting into trouble.

When it was finally Seren's turn to shoot, he could already tell this was harder than it looked. The chord of the bow felt too strong for him to pull back as properly as he should and the arrow kept tipping down. The teacher tried to give him pointers but it just wasn't working. Finally, Seren gave it his best go and let the arrow loose. It whizzed across the room and...

Barely hit the edge of the target.

"Good enough, yeah?" Seren confirmed with a cocky grin before heading back to the end of the line.

Student name: Charlemagne
Prompt: Archery, like a shot in the dark!
Response: User Image This was supposed to be Charlie's element. The golden Neko grew up practicing archery in the Swirling Sands and had started training as soon as he could draw the arrow to his ribs. Archery was in is blood. His father was a champion archer, and he intended to follow in his footsteps. He was no prodigy, but when Charlie set his mind to something, he would work tirelessly to achieve mastery. He had recently let his confidence get the better of him and pushed himself too far, tearing his rotator cuff and landing him in physical therapy. The setback was endlessly frustrating, as he would have to drop out of the first third of the competition season while he recovered. He was required to take P.E. to graduate, and even though he could get a doctor's note to be able to do independent study instead, he persisted through the class. He was more careful now, his injury knocking his self-assurance down a few pegs. He figured that today's class would be a good starting point, as he was advised not to pick up his bow until that week. He also decided to use the academy's bows and arrows as the tension on them were significantly less than his competition bows. He was still nursing his pride, however, so he chose to show up extra early to class to get his credit and practice where none of his classmates could see him fail. Charlemagne stepped up to the line and nocked the arrow, taking a steadying breath through his nose before he lifted the bow and pulled the arrow back. Despite the reduced tension in the bowstring, sharp pain raced up his right shoulder and down his shoulder blade. He winced, immediately releasing the arrow. The reaction had caught him by surprise, causing him to act before he could aim properly. He still managed to hit the target, but just barely on the outermost ring. He gritted his teeth in frustration, tucking the bow under his right arm and rubbing his shoulder with his freed hand. He should be farther along in his recovery, he should have been able to do this. He could hit a bullseye from this distance ten years ago, and thanks to his injury he was set way back. An uncharacteristic fury bubbled inside him, and for a brief moment, the thought of flinging the bow across the area and storming out flashed through his mind. Then his father's words rang through his head, reminding him that 'a man who masters patience masters everything else'. He took a calming breath through his nose and exhaled before calmly retrieving his arrow from the target and returning both to their respective resting places. He left P.E. class, a renewed sense of determination coursing through his veins. He would just have to be patient, and once he had recovered, he'd take this competition season by storm. His competitors wouldn't even know what hit them. All he could do now, however, was wait.

Student name: Marie
Prompt: Archery, like a shot in the dark!
Response:
User Image Marie and P.E. had a love/hate relationship. She excelled in the more graceful, fluid forms of exercise such as dancing, synchronized swimming, and gymnastics. Her daintiness and lack of strength, however, proved to be her downfall when it came to most sports. Archery proved to be one of those sports. The sport was highly popular in the Swirling Sands, and she had attended many competitions through the course of her life, but never had any interest in picking up a bow herself. Today she was faced with a target, armed with a few arrows. She listened to the instructor demonstrate how to nock the arrow and demonstrate the correct form. The Nightmare launched the arrow straight into a target, hitting it almost dead center. He made it look so easy, how hard could it be? Marie nocked the arrow and placed her body in the right stance. She lifted up her bow and went to pull the string back toward her cheek but struggled to move it back. She pulled with all her might, releasing the arrow once she had pulled it to her ribs. The arrow sailed straight over the target, embedding itself into the floor several feet away. She blinked her large ice blue eyes, shocked at the distance she had managed to achieve. At least she didn't fall short of the target; that would have been awful. Having had enough, Marie abandoned her bow and remaining arrows and made her way back towards the grounds. Besides, it was tea time and she had less strenuous matters to devote her time to.

Student name: Acheron
Prompt: stop spreading germs
Response: Please write a short IC post about what your student thinks will help stop germs from spreading.

The only problem about flu session was that the teachers seemingly thought you would constantly end up getting sick. However every year they drummed it into you that you needed to prevent the spread of germs. Considering Acheron was a grimm he should probably pay more attention and be more worried, but if he got sick he got sick and shame on him he would be the idiot. He didn’t need another lecture. He would much prefer something active and probably something to take his aggression out on .

there are many different ways to stop the spreading of germs. Don’t share personal items and food with others. Make sure to wash your hands constantly after you touch some one. Stay home if you are really sick and if you absolutely have to come to school make sure to cough into your elbow.

There that was a good summary of all the lectures over the years right?
