Tsarzi Ameroc

A first, second, and third look later, Tsarzi could admit that her shelter wasn't gonna get any better. The foundation she built just didn't work with the top and walls she'd made. The only way to fix it was to tear the whole thing down.

Mental note, research more on shelter building. Her focus was on hunting and gathering right now, but this was an important skill too. More to practice, more to do. Tsarzi wasn't particularly impressed by her own showing of survival skills, but she would just do better next time.

Tsarzi Ameroc

The next exercise was learning to work with power converters, was it? This similarly caught Tsarzi's interest as she took in the display of wires and devices. Outdoors survival, she had a mentor in Lupos to guide her. As far as technology was concerned though, the big guy was useless. Most of her experience was fiddling with broken bits like this with a book next to her or gutting new hardware and putting it back together, though she mostly did it on weekends, quiet indoor days committed to complicated text by soft indoor lights. Little physical demand but quite the mind bender when the tech speak got to be too much and she got frustrated.

Looked like this was a hit and miss kind of puzzle though, using the bits of information about how you were doing to solve the case of which wires go where. Tsarzi could certainly do this.

Tsarzi Ameroc

Tsarzi found she rather liked the challenge of this booth, asking for mental and physical application of the self to complete the tasks. Quick enough for a fast paced environment like a festival, but still requiring the participants to think and work for their satisfaction.

This was the best booth Tsarzi had come across. Of course, that's the opinion of a blueblood with no apparent sense of humor who could probably suck the fun out of a trampoline park.

Moving away from the activity booths, giving a nod to the vendors, she took a look at what was left. Amidst the fruits, veggies, supplies, and patched up tech was a desk of pamphlets and refreshments. Tsarzi picked up a glass of tea, but scoffed internally at the notion of sitting down and relaxing, side eyeing the beach chairs. A waste of time. She wasn't here to dawdle, she was here to gather information.

Picking up a pamphlet, she began to examine it carefully, reading over the mission of the group. It was... progressive. Much more so than most things she saw in media or behavior. It was about improving function, a promotion of independence and cultivating a higher mental awareness. Her interest was peaked. She was not in agreement with all of the words on the pamphlet, particularity the first. Many animals were not brutal in nature, but it seemed to imply as such with the wording. Statements two and three were up her alley though.

That first statement though. Someone clearly had some flawed thinking and Tsarzi was just the troll to correct it.

"Lightseekers, huh..." Tsarzi said, eyeing up the place as a whole. "Who came up with this?".

Guess: B C Y C

Sephos nervously fiddled with the power converter, as if he had to get his panic out somewhere, into something. He had no idea what it did, only that it was technology and that it made lights happen. It was also at Panili's booth so it couldn't be so bad, could it?

Sephos Arbola

It occurred to Sephos, at some point as he lingered around the Lightseeker's stall, that building a shelter would be good. Especially when he had to leave home to plant Maku's seedling...

Unfortunately, Sephos was not built to pay attention for long periods of time to rote knowledge stuff. Only practical interest and Maku's infinite patience had taught him what he had, and the brusque captain's advice went in one ear and mostly out the other.

Still, he gave it a go...

Sephos didn't know why he had built some sort of waterproof bubble-shelter. He wasn't planning on living in a river or something. Still, he guessed it was good to know. Shelter done for grading, he retreated back to the safety of the booth and the tea...

        Bonus: +5

Now this was more like it!

No offense to Rouxez, but Malory's class was far easier to follow. Which was a shame, considering Mahmud was far more interested in building shelters than cultivating crops... but he liked this teaching style far better. It was much more hands on, less full of notes... well, still full of notes, but at least he got to get his hands in good and dirty while learning.

This plant he was given to judge... it seemed really familiar, from the lessons. Of course, he wasn't perfect about it but he had a fairly good hunch. Not bad, for a kid who lives with practically no plants!

        Bonus: +5, +10!

Well one thing's for sure, if this plant was what he THOUGHT it was... it'd definitely be part of this subgroup! Mahmud stuck his tongue out of his mouth ever so slightly as he concentrated, staring the plant down and taking it in. Multiple leaves, a single long stem, curled at the end...

Bonus +15! Identification within 50, so grade D!

        "It's a fern!"

When asked what type of fern it was though, Mahmud panicked. There... there were so many types of ferns. How was he supposed to... "A-alternian?" he added hopefully. Malory did not seem impressed, judging from the D-grade he was given. But there was always another day to try... right?

Later on Mahmud slipped into the background to speak with Loulah once more, "Um... hey..." He wasn't quite sure how to put what he wanted to say, as evident by the picking at his arms while he stared at her. "So... question."

"Can... I get even more information about Lightseekers? I'm... I'm interested. I don't know if I'm totally ready to commit, but... I want to help you guys out. I can build structures pretty decently, and I like to write slam poetry. Are either of those... useful? To you guys?"

Lightseekers seemed like a pretty dang alright group, and now that Harpommy wasn't here to coo at him in distress, he felt he could make some choices on his own. No, he didn't want to fully commit just yet, not until he got even more information... but truth be told, Mahmud was just about sold.

Sephos Arbola

The activities here were less stressful and more like, well, what he did at home. With less treebeast-tending, of course. And less resin. The plant identification activity promised to get him out and away from the crazy Bloodfest hell. He couldn't restrain his excitement... though all that meant was a pair of bright eyes in his otherwise still and uninterested features.

But he was there, and he was interested.

Sephos Arbola

Sephos had no idea what this plant was. It was some kind of flowering plant - it had buds - but Sephos couldn't make head or tail of the leaves and stems and the colors it wore. What plant looked like that? Not a forest plant, surely! He looked at the ID key and picked out something likely, struggling to read the name aloud off of the ID card.

It wasn't. It was also a forest plant, growing in Four Fronds.

"... Oh." he said, frowning at the plant (though it may have also been his thoughful face, not even Sephos could really tell the difference. Feelings, after all, were complicated.) It looked as though he needed to brush up on this. Maybe greenblood lady (Malory? Malory was her name.) could help him with that. Maku would be pleased if he woke up to find that Sephos had learned something, wouldn't he?
