The ball would smack into the Mimikyu and suck it back into its confines, the Dusk Ball rolling towards the flooded area of the floor again though this time Sub stood between it and the water. "Got you this time." The man said as he prepared to snatch up the Dusk Ball as it rolled on by.
"Rattata!" Shouted the rodent Pokemon as he ran by and snatched up the blinking ball in its mouth.
"Hey! That's mine!" Sub shouted as he ran after the Pokemon, chasing the rat towards the water's edge, the Rattata now cornered. At this Pokemon the ball was blinking less and less, did he catch it?
"I got you n-" Before Sub could finish that sentence another familiar face would show up as the Grimer from earlier sprung up out of the water and swallowed whole the Rattata holding the Dusk Ball, the sludge Pokemon then immediately proceeding disappear back into the water with its prey leaving Sub to just stand there dumbfounded, trying to figure what in Darkrai's name just happened.
After about two minutes of contemplating the hell he had just been through Sub finally spoke, pulling himself away from the water's edge after realizing that the Grimer, the Rattata, and his Dusk Ball, wear not coming back. "You okay, Scraggy?" He said after letting out a heavy sigh, walking over to his Pokemon as it sat on the ground, the man picking up the young critter.
"You did awesome, I'm proud of you." He praised the Pokemon as he finally was able to make his way up the steps, certain that a certain Pokemon wasn't going to stop him this time. "You deserve a real name, you know that? I think I finally thought of the perfect one. How does Landor sound to you?" He asked the Scraggy.
"Scrag scraggy!" Shouted the Scraggy in his arms, the Pokemon folding his own arms and turning his head away from Sub. While the Pokemon acted like it protested against the name Sub knew better, he saw that little smile, that brief moment of joy. The little hooligan of a Pokemon just didn't want his trainer to know how happy he was to finally have a real name.
"Alright, alright...I see how it is...Landor." Sub said with a smile, the two finally finding their way out of the wrecked ship as they walked into the warm sun, their trials finally over...
-----
"Mi mi kyu kyu..." A certain Pokemon laughed quietly from inside Sub's backpack, the Pokemon tapping a Dusk Ball inside as it retreated to its confines. It looks like their trials weren't really over.

Pushing the brush the forest out of the way, Dan continued forward in search of a Pokemon. There were so many unique looking ones to choose from, but not all that many he wanted to train. Certainly not that mongoose and definitely not the linebacker ape. And while he was holding out for a Dragon type, he'd settle for a Grass type since he never trained one of those. Perhaps the sunbather they just passed or the Exeggcute that kept showing up. "Shel!" the pod beside him spoke up, grabbing his attention. "Hm? What's up?" he'd ask, only for the dragon to go waddling off into the bushes. Dan followed, of course, wondering what got the layabouts attention. What they found; however, could only be described as something unreal; a large structure built out of stones. To their surprise, the Happiny they saw earlier was adding rocks to the ever growing pile. And there was one Pokemon adamantly attacking the stones, practically throwing its body against it. "Jang! Jang! Jang!" it cried out, each time it Headbutt the rocks. "...What's going on here? Ah! But good work, pal. That thing has to be a Dragon type! Let's go, Shelgon" Dan grinned. The two slowly approached the little Pokemon hard at work, when it finally noticed him. "Ja! Mo!" it shouted, puffing up its chest at him. "I'm challenging you to a battle! Get ready" he announced, Shelgon taking the first step forward. Jangmo-o nodded in agreement, surprisingly, as it snorted from its nostrils.
The little one moved first, unleashing a deafening roar that shook even Shelgon slightly, making him take a step back. It was as if he was receding in from the recognition of power displayed in that attack. Despite it's size, was it really that strong? It took the moment to lunge forward with an all too familiar attack: Dragon Claw. The energy sparking on its claw could do a number on the pod if they weren't careful. "Protect!" Dan called out, watching the translucent yellow sphere surround Shelgon and then it colliding with Jangmo-o's Dragon Claw. The sparks clashing with the barrier didn't seem to have much of an effect on the smaller reptile; it bouncing back and resuming its fighting posture. "Jang! Jangmo!" it cried, the sunlight hitting its crest just right to give it a shine. Upon seeing that, Dan had a sense of deja vu. He'd seen that scale before, in a book maybe? He couldn't quite place it, now did he have the time to figure it out at the moment. Their opponent was coming yet again, refusing to miss a beat as it charged with a Headbutt, scale first. "Shelgon, intercept it with Flamethrower!" Out of the void of the pod dragons face shot intense flames that pushed against Jangmo-o...but it did not yield! Instead it pushed on, inching closer and closer. "I can't believe this! It's the ape Pokemon all over again! Come on, Shelgon! I need you to push!" Dan cheered, trying to motivate his Pokemon. And so with an extra "oomph" to his flames, it eventually pushed the tiny one back, sending it rolling. But this did not deter Jangmo-o, instead it stood tall once more with chest poked out. Summoning a draconic aura around itself, the small Pokemon had used Dragon Dance, Dan recognizing the aura when his Dragonair did it. Before he could issue a command, the scaly rascal had seemingly disappeared and reappeared with a Dragon Claw strike to Shelgon's side. "Damn! It's become faster and stronger now" Dan mumbled, trying to think of a way to counter this. His hesitation had allowed the speedy devil to get in another Dragon Claw, this time striking the top of his shell with the sparkling energy. Shelgon winced and cried out in pain, not something the trainer heard too often from the rather sturdy and silent dragon. "Okay, let go with Scary Face. Try to slow it down!" This move of Shelgon's wasn't that hard to pull off as the lack of a face somehow made disembodied floating red eyes even more intimidating. At least, Jangmo-o seemed to agree, stopping in its tracks when it saw the face of fear. That moment of hesitation...it was time for them to return the favor! "Dragonbreath, hold nothing back!" "Shelgoooo!!" From that same hole where a face could've been, an eruption of flames came forth once more. But these flames were green in color and far more effective on the Scaly Pokemon than a Flamethrower. Poor Jangmo-o had fallen down from the sheer force of the attack alone and...still struggling to stand?! "Looks like it's time for a Pokeball. Get back, Shelgon!" Dan fished a Quick Ball out of his pocket and lobbed it at the downed dragon who was promptly drawn within. As it shut, he watched to see if it would remain within or not.

The ball rocked back and forth a few times, Dan watching with anticipation whether it would break free or not. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise him if it did as tough as it was. But that was not the case; Jangmo-o had stayed within and the ball confirmed it with a click. "Nice! I can't wait to find out what it is. And this scale that it has- I know I've seen it somewhere before... Oh! Guess we should head back for now, eh Shelg-" When he looked down to his cocooned partner, he could see he had finally succumb to his favorite pastime. "Ah, that's fine, you've earned I suppose" Dan grinned, returning him to rest in the ball. Taking one last look around, he made way for the Safari entrance to check in.

Lynnette would arrive on the island later than most of the others. She assumed most of the others would be done by now, and she hoped that she could find something interesting to catch relatively quickly. She had heard that there was some new Pokemon around these parts, and she was very interested in seeing some of them. Pitch was perched on her shoulder, surprisingly silent for the moment, though Lynnette assumed that wouldn't last for very long.

The Spearow would shriek as it dive-bombed Lynnette, snaring its talons in her hair. "Hey! Ow!" Lynn would cry out, swatting at the Tiny Bird Pokemon. Hearing her trainer's pained voice, Pitch would fly into a fury, trying to pry the Spearow away from the girl. Releasing Lynnette's hair, the Spearow would Peck at Pitch's head, prompting the Noibat to Bite in response, clamping her teeth down on the Spearow's shoulder. The Spearow would shriek, flailing its wings in an attempt to get Pitch off of it. "Pitch! Air Cutter!" Lynnette would call out, backing away slightly. Nodding once at her trainer, Pitch would start flapping her wings wildly, whipping up the air in such a way that when it shot towards the Spearow, it would cut through the Tiny Bird Pokemon's feathers, causing it to falter in its flying.
Realizing it was unwanted, the Spearow would shakily fly off, crying out in pain as it did so. "Thanks Pitch," Lynn would say, putting her arm out so that the Noibat could land. Pitch would flap over, flipping upside down as she landed so she could hang from her trainer's sleeve. "Y'know, I don't want to hold my arm like this forever, but, I guess you can rest like that until we find something else," Lynnette would say with a chuckle.

A small, lithe, black and red feline would be stalking Lynnette and Pitch, crouched in the grasses. Trainer and Pokemon were unsuspecting to the ever so mighty hunter who was eagerly on the prowl. Pitch's ears would twitch slightly, thinking that she could hear something, she would turn her head, only to be suddenly tackled off of Lynnette's arm and pinned to the ground by this strange newcomer. Lynnette would shriek as Pitch was suddenly wrenched from her arm before looking down to see the... most interestingly adorable Pokemon. Pitch would squirm under the Fire Cat Pokemon, which seemed to prompt it to roll its eyes before letting go of the Noibat and leaping backwards a couple paces, its tail flicking behind it irritably.
"What are you? And why are you so cute!?" Lynnette would squeal. The girl wanted to pick up the Pokemon and snuggle with it, but, seeing the way it was glaring at her made her decide otherwise. It would lean its head down slightly to lick at its chest fur, pretending to ignore the squealing girl and her Pokemon. "Pitch! We need them on our team, don't you think?" Lynnette would ask with a smile. Her Noibat, however, just stared at her with a look of utter contempt, obviously unimpressed by the Pokemon that had decided to pin her to the ground only a few moments before. With her back turned to this new Pokemon, Pitch wasn't expecting the sudden Ember attack that would strike her in the back. However, this Ember seemed different than those from other Fire-types. It almost... seemed to have something in it? Flapping her wings in a way to try and fan the flames to stop, Pitch would wind up touching the rather soggy ball of fur that had clung to her back with the attack, drawing out a Screech from the Noibat. The Fire-type let out a yelp at the sound, covering its ears with its front paws in an effort to block out the sound.
Lynnette happened to see the gob of fur that her Noibat had flicked off, and couldn't help but make a face at the sight of it herself. "It... It sets its hairballs on fire? How absolutely revolting," Lynn would comment, still making faces. "However, I'm not going to let that stop us. Pitch, Air Cutter, please." Pitch would shake off the soggy remnants of the hairball off of her back before whipping up some piercing winds, sending the gusts at the strange Pokemon. It would crouch low to the ground, the attack just skimming its fur, mainly just trimming it a tad. It would let out a small growl before releasing another Ember filled furball. Pitch would swerve out of the way before diving towards the feline, swiping at it with one wing. The Fire Cat Pokemon would take a face full of Wing Attack, but would clamp down with a Bite in the process, causing Pitch to cry out in pain.
"Pitch, Scr- er... Sing for it, would you?" Lynnette would say, stumbling in her words. She knew as well as anyone else that Noibat's couldn't actually learn Sing, but, Pitch didn't seem to see her Screech attack that way, thinking it was singing that she was doing. However, Pitch never gave up an opportunity to "sing", and of course would start belting out a Screech, as loud as she could manage. The new Pokemon immediately clamped its paws over its ears again, unable to move if it didn't want to go deaf. "Lit! Litten!" it would cry out, trembling from the sheer volume of Pitch's attack.
Taking her chance, Lynnette would toss a Great Ball towards the Pokemon.

The ball would ensnare the Pokemon in a red glow. It would shake a few times, this new Pokemon obviously struggling to get free. Pitch would stare at the ball in contempt, clearly hoping it would break free and run off so she didn't have to deal with it anymore. But, to Pitch's dismay, and Lynnette's excitement, the ball would stop shaking and click.
"Ha! We got it! A new Pokemon we've never even seen and we got it Pitch! Aren't you excited?" Lynnette would say, scooping up her Noibat. Pitch would let out a squeak and attempted to squirm from her trainer's arms, but to no avail. "We can keep looking if it bothers you that much. I'm sure we can find something else interesting," Lynnette would say, picking up the ball before continuing their walk.

A loud popping sound filled the air as Jangmo-o broke out of its ball, snapping its ball in half.
"The hell?" I asked, looking down at the capturing device. Sure enough, it was unusuable, now.
"Crap," I sighed, letting Rala out of her ball. I had planned to have her use weaker attacks, since the Jangmo-o couldn't have had much HP left after geting Draining Kissed, but the dragon had other plans, leaping up and smashing its tail into Rala's face via Dragon Tail. The energy from the attack slammed Rala back into her ball, causing a chain reaction of energy that forced Sauron to be released from his ball.
"Oh, no," I gasped. Jangmo-o might just be a wild Pokemon, but Sauron was a very young Pokemon with little combat experience. I reached for Sauron's ball, but I wasn't quick enough. Jangmo-o lunged forward to attack Bulbasaur, and came very close before crashing on the ground, fast asleep.
This surprised me, of course. I put Sauron's ball away on my belt before examining the scene. The snoozing dragon had powder on it's nose. Sleep Powder? Did Sauron know that move?
"A bit of advice - stay in the ball, this time," I warned Jangmo-o before throwing another Safari Ball at it.
