Lucky and his glasses landed in the snow, a few inches apart. The chill was finally starting to bore through his carefully mismatched layers of winter clothing. He fished around dejectedly with a gloved hand until he could replace them on the bridge of his nose. "Don't ask," he groaned at Gale, falling backward and forming his own little snow crime scene outline as he sank into it. He still hadn't fully recovered from Mark's proposition, and his face was still furiously red. "Don't even say that word." There was a small, almost expectant pause from the human outline in the snow. "Shu, you're a terrible executioner."

Gale gave Lucky a Look.
"If I have to be dragged into this mess, so do you," he said pointedly, resisting the urge to pile more snow atop of him. His eyes flickered sideways to Shu, Gale giving her an apologetic look as though to say sorry for the mess of limbs and glasses and green hair that was Lucky Longname.
"If you need a gun to shoot him with, I can provide one."

If there was one thing he wouldn’t get use to it was cold and snow, even more having to trudge through it while running the loop around the training ground. It wasn’t bad to just rent a cabin in snowland, bundle up and stay tucked in by the fire, maybe a few drinks to go along with it but having to deal with it at Dues meant constantly having soaked feet and wearing too many bundles of coats on wrinkling his shirts. There was also the feeling of never being just quite warm enough to shake off the cold entirely. Coming from California he tended to prefer the warm sunny beaches with waves rolling across the sand instead of banks of snow neatly huddled up around the edges of the ice. Which was why as soon as Kyle had turned around and looked at him he stifled giving the bright eyes a frown. Instead he plastered on the happiest smile he could while debating on avoiding the idea of running and going outside all together until the warmed up and everything dried off properly. “It is…. So what do you want to do?” Maybe in some point of his life Matt regretted letting Kyle into his life, that maybe living alone would have been better, that maybe he could avoid easily getting suckered into the snow because of the cute look on his face. Yet despite every bitter word that Kasi whispered into his ear he wouldn’t trade Kyle for the world he would at least watch out for him, protect him as much as he could and if it meant making him happy by going into snow he would do it a thousand times over. It wouldn’t however stop him from complaining about it every chance that he got if he could get away with it. Snow, she had almost forgotten what it looked like as she sucked in the cold air, grinning from ear to ear. The bright white crunched under her tennis shoes as she made her way to the courtyard hands tucked into her pocket as she held her teeth together from wanting to chatter a little too much from the lack of warm clothes. Harper told herself next time she went shopping to buy a real winter hat and maybe gloves and a coat before she made her way over to a few familiar figures.

She replied the Life hunter with a bright grin and a hop, "Happy Holiday!" It was kinda nice to see faces she knew again and mingled with them. She had a lot of festive candies and chocolates to give out. "As if," Shu turned back and rolled her eyes, immediately asked Lucky with hope, "Terrible as in horrible or poor?" The petite Death seemed to relieve that his glasses was fine, and that meant he should be fine too. However they didn't tell her if Jake, the hunter that molestered by Mark's naked bottom, was okay. He'd be late for the important Caelius mission! Gale was given a smile and a sparkly face, "A gun! But I never use one before - er - except the trap gun. Do we need a license for that?" There, her tiny snowman was done! She overheard disputes and someone called Melvin's name, she quickly looked towards his direction and spotted he was hugging another girl. What a surprise, she thought. Z, do you think it's what I'm thinking? She asked in an excited voice but got denial right off. < No.>

Jake decided that maybe if he stayed face-down in the snow he'd get hypothermia and DIE and would be exempt from the stupid mission.

OOC If you haven't posted yet you are still free to join! Just make an rp post starting at this point! LOCATION: LighthouseSomehow, in all its holiday miracle, Mark had arrived - with pants on - at the Lighthouse before most. He was now wearing seasonal pjs - Santa Yoda Edition - and equally seasonal Chewbacca slippers, wasting no time in setting up both laptops in one even motion. "Attention everyone-!" he had tried yelling into the crowd once or twice before getting either interrupted or distracted himself.
It wasn't until the Death Lead stepped out of the single extremely festive-looking portal that the air became somewhat foreboding, marginally only because there were for some reason candycanes and gumdrops stuck to his scythe. They all fell to the ground with a loud clatter as he desummoned it and his general demeanor of looking like he was ready for some fresh murder ruined any potential holiday pinata parties.
"Find a ******** headset," Caelius managed to snap, the gumdrops and candycanes themselves growing tiny feet and hauling a** away from the anti-Joy, "and you have one simple, <********> quest which is to stop the goddamn train from leaving."
Now one might ask two valid questions. Like the first, was "********" really a word, and maybe the second which was if the Death lead could create portals why didn't he just create one to prevent it from leaving, and the answer was super simple: one would have to be a Death lead to know why.
It didn't matter if people had time to even digest this or even hastily grab a headset before the Death lead that knew why they didn't began to quite forcefully eject Hunters into the holiday portal. OOC THE LAND OF JOYAs soon as your stomach stops flipping a thousand times over and you actually land, you fall into more snow that totally tastes like toasted marshmallows. There are giant, edible candycane lights all directions and like gumdrop gremlins (also sugary and delicious) nibble at your feet. Behind you you see an incredibly long set of train tracks made entirely out of licorice, and the distant sounds of a train whistle - shadow of a train fast approaching. The best part: the gingerbread and icing that made up the train was fantastic. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to board the train and destroy it good. Wreck it with everything you got before it escapes out the portal (though what kind of portal remains to be seen. gaia_crown [ THE POLAR EXPRESS TRAIN ]HP: ??? Please ROLL YOUR DICE (if you are attacking) and IMMEDIATELY EDIT THE TOP OF YOUR POST WITH TOTAL DAMAGE DONE. Effect 2: you can also ON TOP OF WEAPON attacking, decide to eat the train too. If you do, you only have space for 3 good bites. Roll 1d6 to see your damage done. If you roll even your jump is incredible and you land on the train no problems. If odd, you miss, you faceplant in the snow, and have to chase after the train until you finally catch up to it. YOU ONLY NEED TO ROLL ONCE, just rp chasing after it for the second attempt - CANDYCANE AND GUMDROP GREMLINS inhabit the train. They like chewing on you as much as you like chewing on them. Sometimes randomly, they'll n** at your feet, making you take -1 damage (you choose when) - The train is INCREDIBLY LONG, each cabin at least four big gingerbread crackers. You can't help but smile at stuff that normally makes you annoyed. 51-80: On top of being way too happy, you feel a need to tell everyone a happy holiday story involving you (or make one up) or just randomly start singing holiday carols 81-100: You are now convinced you are Santa and nobody otherwise is going to stop you from giving presents which are ON THIS TRAIN (JOY OVERLOAD)

Falling into piles of snow was the theme of the day, as Lucky managed to crash-land several times in his pursuit of the train. All the while he attempted to get his headset on straight, a task not made any easier by jumping around. The disturbingly strong holiday cheer vibe this place gave off - was the train really made of gingerbread? - was a little distracting.
This was going to be a long day.

Jake was still too busy dying in the snow to care about said train.
--------------
Mimi was also equally distracted but for a whole other reason. It was probably a blessing in disguise she missed the whole Mark shenanigan because she was still a pure and innocent girl unwary of the horrors of this world.

Having been one of the early ones, Jason had stood around awkwardly, listening to Mark trying unsuccessfully to say anything of worth, until the reappearance of the Death Lead. Who had gumdrops and candy canes stuck to his weapon.
....Oh god what had Caelius done. Jason was horrified to think of what had happened. He had a pretty good idea of where they were going, the candy-canes being a obvious hint.
The moon jumped when the lead barked out their orders, scrambling to grab a headset while trying not to think of any possible elf genocides. He wasn't quick enough however and ended up being thrown through the portal into another large pile of snow. Except this snow tasted like desert. He felt like laying here for a while but sadly had to get up and stop this train. For some reason or other.
"I hope we're not interfering with Christmas..." Jason mumbled, spotting the train and breaking into a run to catch up to it.
Once he was closer he made a running leap, but landed in more snow.

His next attempt was much better, his long legs pushing him off the ground with a mighty jump, and grasped the end rail of the train. Which was made out of gingerbread.

Now that he was on the train he had to stop it. He figured this would involve getting to the engine room, so he walked through the carriage and into the next, stopping to stab at the part connecting one carriage to the next.

Since he was on the train, and it was completely edible, Jason would be remiss to not take a bite out of it.
A corner of a seat was pulled off, the hunter taking a bite out of it. It tasted like strawberry gingerbread and this was awesome. In fact everything was awesome, and instead of dreading what the mission would entail Jason felt ecstatic, sitting on the gingerbread seat and just enjoying himself, hoping the train would take them to Santa's workshop.

When it came to jumping, Rep was actually really really good at it, what he wasn't really good at was Joy. The almost tangible feel of the energy in the world they found themselves in put him right on edge. It had almost killed him before and he wasn't about to let it kill him again.
Getting on a moving train was no small ask and even with Rep's relative experience and strength he missed it by a second and fell headlong into the snow, swearing profusely.

If they expected Lawrence to make a death defying leap onto a moving train they had another thing coming. He watched it go with a look of complete indifference.
Not a goddamn chance.

What Mik lacked in strength skill and experience he made up for in sheer enthusiasm. Finding himself in what seemed to be a WORLD OF CHRISTMAS, he was absolutely over the moon, running through the snow (dashing?) and eagerly trying to do what he was told which was to catch a GINGERBREAD TRAIN.
It was like something from an AMAZING DREAM. He wasn't even allowed sugary snacks normally and yet here he was in a whole world which was practically made of them. He couldn't be happier. Running at the train, he leapt and tried to grab it and missed. "Almost had it!" he called out with a big grin, before trying to go for it all over again.
