It was instinctive, almost, and sort of like they'd practiced, although Seven was so heavy and... "Sorry," Rodney apologised in a squeak as he gave Seven's chain some slack, then swung the business end out towards the famine Horseman's ankles to, well, do some grappling.
He didn't want to hurt, just...contain.
And buy Lawrence some time.

"For what?" Lawrence hissed through gritted teeth. There was nothing to be sorry about. Things had been good and if this was where they both died, then it was better than simply fading away with old age. Clearly the horsemen who'd been left weren't expecting this kind of fight on their hands, not trained or in all liklihood very old. They hadn't practised as often together. They just needed to get out of here. Away from this place and back to the camp, back to other hunters.
He tensed bodily and lashed a claw out in time to haul the famine horseman back into the room when he tried to dash out for help. Butch felt like a fox in a henhouse and in his delusional state he could almost believe that they could win this.

Lawrence had been too focused on cleaving a path forward, in some direction that the man just felt like going to and not talking to either of them if he knew what the hell he was doing. Focus was good, but not so razor sharp that it didn't have you even connected to the people trying to help alongside you. It happened in mere moments, with Melvin pushing back a branch that Lawr hadn't managed to fully cut, as they lined up behind the Life hunter who was cleaving his way this way and that through the brush, when there was simply nothing there in front of them. One moment there was Lawrence, and the next there was just brush. He could her him, the sounds of leaves and fern being torn apart, yet when he moved forward looking for the trail, there was too much around to spot him in the thick vegetation they had submerged themselves in.
"Lawrence!" He hissed out, before deciding to say ******** it and calling out more loudly. There was no response, so Melvin turned to glance at Melody. "We have to find that idiot before he gets himself killed."
So he pressed on, forward and then to the right, and then to the left, hearing less and less of the hacking of Butch's claws and more of the natural chorus of the jungle. It wasn't long before they found a path again, torn apart, and Melvin followed - only to be lead right back to the start.
"C...Camp? But ....How the hell did we...?" He looked around frantic. Lawr was now lost in the woods looking for Rodney with 0 backup. There was no buddy system! ((Roll for Idol: FAIL))

"I know...it's just their job, I know...they aren't...hurt, the same," Rodney winced as Lawrence's claws dug in.
"If it was just me...it wouldn't matter, but..."
He wasn't able to block as well this time, just doing his best to keep his grip on the chain. He felt naked, even if he wasn't. He couldn't think about that.

Panting breathlessly, Lawrence struggled and fought within the confines of the room, drawing upon every single bit of strength he had to try and overpower the two horsemen, knowing that Rodney would only help to control them rather than harm them. All of the harming came down to him.
And he wasn't sure how much more he could do. They didn't have time, they didn't have time for anything.
"They'll notice soon." he gasped as the sword collided with his shield over a shoulder.

"Just...tell me where you want me," Rodney said, still holding the chain tight.
He cried, suddenly, as a claw bit into his leg, breathing hard, and closing his eyes, but not letting go.

And just like that things were changing, they were starting to make a difference. If they could just overpower these guys they could run for it, they could get out of here.
Lawrence pinned the nearest horseman and turned to Rodney. "Just DAZE them, anything, and then grab your coat and RUN."

Rodney's breath caught, and...again, like they'd practiced, he pulled the chain once. Hard.
There was a creaking noise, then...
"N-no, no, no, sorry, I'm..." Rodney's breathing quickened even more, he felt like throwing up, neither were moving, it had been easy, of course, it was always easy, he needed his coat...

Good, they were down. Down for now. They needed to get out. He wrapped the cloth around himself again and looked out of the room. Whatever meeting had been happening was now over and horsemen were starting to mill around again. They had to get out but making a mad dash would be nothing short of madness, like a mouse in front of a cat.
They needed to find the right moment, they needed to be careful.

Rodney bundled up behind him, struggling into his shirt, and tearfully arranging his scarf. He wasn't in much shape to run, he was barely in any shape to think....
Pull it together, you want to get us...and him, I guess, killed? You did good, okay. It was for...other people, I guess.

Rodney got a brief look. Lawr was roughed up, his clothing torn, his hair a mess, but he seemed completely calm, even after the scuffle they'd just been through.
"You are what?" he said quietly, looking back out of the door, waiting on that perfect moment. It was no time to talk, but they might not get another chance.

"R-ready," Rodney forced himself to say. "When you are. I'll...stay beside you. I can..." he convinced himself, "do it. Thanks. For coming for me," even though he could barely see, even if he just felt like crying instead of going forward.
Even if they didn't make it.

It was understandable she had some 'history' with Rep, as most senior hunters had had a few run ins with students, some being more positive then others. Rep was of course a hot headed, easily angered guy, so it came as no surprise he didn't like her. However it just added another dynamic to this situation, and Jason really wasn't sure what would happen. For all he knew the sun would attack her on sight. At least she complied with his request, burying the communicators and marking where they were. One less thing they could be pinned for. Then she took off her cloak. "O-oh, u-uh..i-it's a-alright. Y-ou don't need t-to say s-sorry..." He didn't want to be rude, it wasn't like she could help her appearance after all. And getting a good look at her it didn't seem like she had any rotting flesh, which made him feel a little better. But those eye sockets man, those eyes sockets... 'I hate you'
They headed off towards the camp, Jason staying close to their captive and Sammy, one hand on his sword just in case the horsewman decided to fight back. Thankfully she stayed quiet until they were near enough Joy ran off to fetch Rep. A awkward silence followed where the moon tried his best not to look at Sammy and pretend she wasn't even there, but he did see the shrug out of the corner of his eye. Okay, he was being rude but seriously he couldn't help it. It didn't help that the humidity and heat of the jungle meant he could detect the odor of rot, though he said nothing about it. At least Zanth explained why that was; as she was in a FEAR-based environment, she would start to decompose.
He shuddered at the image of seeing even more flesh and bone, and push it out of his mind. The distraction in the form of Rep was striding towards them, looking more worried then angry. Jason didn't look too worse for wear, however, besides from a few cuts on his arm and some rips in his shirt. Zanth had absorbed much of the damage.
He stood by quietly as Rep and Sammy argued about the shackles, holding his breath and hoping a fight wouldn't break out. He sincerely doubted he could calm down rep or even stop him without Harrison's help. Thankfully she complied in the end, and he even got a compliment from Rep. Woah...
When the sun walked away, he turned towards Joy and Sammy. "D-do you need some f-first aid?" He asked. Joy he could help out. Sammy...he wasn't sure how to apply first aid to zombies.

"It's nothing." he said. "It's just.. I just." and he couldn't line words up well enough to make coherent sense.
There were more and more horsemen and he heard one of them call out. "THE PRISONER IS ESCAPING."
So they had to run, they had no option but to run.

At the alarm, Rodney still waited on a queue from Lawrence...and was immediately struck in the shoulder with an arrow.
He cried out again, hand going to it.
"Ah, they're...where, where do we, I didn't see..."
Rodney didn't know which direction to go, or how far they were from the camp. If he lost Lawrence, he'd never find his way out.
