Misha lifted an eyebrow and stopped in mid-turn when Rob returned and captured both Mercy and her attention with his words. Wicked mischief danced in her eyes but she kept her mouth relaxed and avoided giving him the smile he completely earned at his ballsy request. "Penance, huh?" she drawled. "A kiss does that? Now I'm really starting to worry about religious types. I thought penance was supposed to be really unpleasant like hair shirts and whippings."

Never mind that, in her skintight black catsuit and impossible heels, she looked as if she would be perfectly at home with a whip in her hands.

Nonetheless she had to agree she had promised penance and it was her duty to deliver. Laughing now, she squeezed Ed's hand, murmured "Just a sec, Stud" warmly into his ear, and then crossed to Rob. She gave him a slow once-over before flicking her eyes to Mercy at his side and smirking. "Okay, Mercy," she grinned. "You better keep a hold of him so he stays upright after this."

With those teasing words, Misha reached up to cup Rob's chin in her palm and leaned forward. Her lips brushed over his, chaste and sweet from the punch. She calculated it just long enough and with just enough pressure to make it really count. When she drew back, she smirked at him. "There you go, Rob. I really hope that was the best kind of 'Hail Mary' for you there."

"More like a Hail Misha," Mal couldn't help but quip, but. "You're getting ahead of me, this is entirely unfair." He shook a finger playfully at Misha, leaving Caleb be for a minute so he could take two steps over to where Misha stood in front of Rob.

"Pardon me, lovely," he settled hands on Misha's hips and nudged her one step to the side. He'd been planning on this for a while, maybe. He kissed Rob with a hand light at the nape of his neck, mouth soft against his.

"Hmm," was all he said as he leaned back. "Tastes like the punch needs more kick."

"That could be fun. I don't really buy my clothing for looks as much as the durability of the material. Leather, sturdy denim, rip-stop nylon, Kevlar... Foam." Briiva knocked on her suit proudly before taking a sip from her drink. "So I guess I could certainly use some fashion advice."

"Uh!" Brian considered her question. His eyes narrowed in thought as he sipped his drink. Hm.

"I don't know. I could be a cop pretty easily, but that's still a bit sore..." He ended up shrugging and turning his gaze back to Sylvia with a smile. "I'm not sure. Something boring." Except, without Misha's influence, he probably wouldn't have come in the first place. Her impression upon him was more than just Halloween costumes. Hell, who knew if he'd be able to talk to Sylvia like this if Misha hadn't pried him open like a clam?

"Did you have plans if you didn't come here, or is this," he gestured to her as a whole, "just something that was sitting around?"

"Nope, definitely dont~" She finished off her cup, a small hic escaping while she giggled, polishing off her punch. Damn, she would need another, wouldn't she? Later, she was having wayyyy too much fun~ " Ed, you should've been Captain America instead of Chris Evans....You're wayyyy hotter~" Not to mention the fact that she could stare at that fine a** all day if she had to...She looked to Misha who had just arrived, giving her a goofy smile.

"Oh I will be~ " She winked, nearly jumping when she felt an arm wrap around her. "Of course!~" She leaned into his side, blinking for all of a second before wrapping her arms around Rob's waist, ducking as Misha planted a kiss on Rob's. Man, this was fun~ Once Misha drew away, she let go of Rob's waist, intent on getting more punch. She was feeling buzzed, but she was good for another drink right?

She went towards the punch bowl, grabbing another cup, turning around, mouth open in a small o formation while she walked back. "I leave for five seconds and we get treated to some guy on guy action? Do continue~" Too bad she didn't have a camcorder or something.

Sylvia gave him a somewhat flat look at his first suggestion. A cop, really? That wasn’t really fair for Halloween if you were a cop… But then Brian said the subject was sore. Why? Oh, no. Sylvia’s face became very concerned for a moment, but then – well, now probably wasn’t the time to talk about it. She forced at least a half-hearted smile. Hopefully it only looked like mock-disappointment in his lack of creativity. “Well, I’m glad Misha helped you brainstorm.” Her eyes gained a bit of sparkle back when she teased him.

She looked down at her outfit and lifted her skirt, “Oh, this old thing?” She chuckled, “Well, a little of both. I’ve used this dress for some other events before, and I’d thought about using it for Halloween, so when this party came up,” she shrugged, smiling up at Brian, “I figured it was about time I actually went through with it.”

Brian had seen her face fall. Sarcastic disappointment at his lack of creativity was one thing, but her mouth had crept down into honest-emotions land. He was pretty sure it had, anyway. Now wasn't the time to interrogate her. His own smile hadn't faltered. Only his eyes had swept over her expression briefly. She might have caught it. He wasn't sure yet.

"It wasn't a brainstorming session so much as an outright battle," he said. Oh my. Dresses like this were something Sylvia kept in her closet? Maybe he shouldn't have been surprised. She seemed pretty stylish.

"Well, it works. It's a lot better than anything I have hanging around in my dorm." He took another sip of his drink. "I don't really like the pre-packaged stuff anyway, though. It all sort of looks the same." Short skirts, sure, he could live with that, but the Halloween store was a lot less varied than their party had turned out.

She’d seen the flicker. He’d probably registered her concern. But that didn’t make this a good time. Not with his smile so steady. Not with a bunch of strangers around. Not on a night that was made to be a relief from the recent stress. It would still take a moment for her smile to entirely recover – she counted Brian a friend at this point and she couldn’t help that she worried – but it would definitely recover as conversation moved beyond.

She gave a bright chuckle at the image of Brian and Misha battling. She couldn’t entirely imagine it. Somehow she doubted Brian cared enough to truly battle her, but who knew. She tilted her head, “Well, however it happened, the result suits you. A superhero with a bow – leather or not –” she nodded, looking him over once more with simpler consideration, “it works.”

She grinned and looked down to admire her dress and swish a bit. “Well, thank you! Though, to be fair, this is the reason I ran home – it wasn’t just hanging in my dorm.” She shrugged. The location of the dress probably didn’t matter as much as the owning of the dress in general. She scrunched her nose and shook her head at his following claim, “Me either. Sometimes the ideas can be fun, but yeah, it’s usually all the same year after year. I’d rather throw something together myself and get creative anyway – and have some better-quality material…” She took a cursory glance around the gym, “Everyone here has done a pretty good job, though! I’m kind of impressed.” She smiled, and did a double-take when she thought she saw a familiar face by the punch. Was that Zan? She couldn’t quite tell, they were turned away, but she made a mental note to check for him later.

“Anyway,” she turned back to Brian with a smile, “it’s nice to see people having fun, no matter what their costume is. I think we all needed something like this.” If ever there was a group that needed an escape, a reason to dress up and maybe drink and ultimately just have fun, this was it. Two tours of saving the world deserved a celebratory break.

Asher lingered outside for a while after Rob before he found his way back inside: mostly sliding through the doors due to a niggling hunger that slowly began to grow. It meant that he looked over the assembled crowd, eyes a bit red and smelling just faintly like skunk, and decided to head immediately to the snack table, instead.

He perused like he was looking at fine dining, and then began to pick at a little bit of everything.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 09, 2016 5:10 pm

"Thanks, I think." Sylvia saying that a superhero suited him could have meant nothing. A lot of people appeared as superheroes. Something in Sylvia's words made it more flattering than that. Maybe he was imagining it, but he was going to hold on to that as flattery for as long as he could.

"I think they beat me out," he said then, looking around through the crowd. It didn't seem like many people had gone to those temporary Halloween stores, if any. He thought it was difficult to dress up, as a man, but the others in the room might just be a word against it. Then, of course, there was Lex, who sort of defied expectations and--- they. He'd just gotten it! "They," not he. Huh!

Asher arrived then, distinctly smelling like marijuana. Well. What were you gonna do. It wasn't his job any more, no matter how much his mind shrieked at him to Do Something. He took a step back so the kid could assault the snacks and smiled to Sylvia again.

"Yeah, I think everyone needs a little recreation right about now," he agreed. However it came, it worked. "Misha's good about things like that. I'm sure it's as much for her as it is for everyone else. I'm not the best at social situations, though." His brows furrowed briefly while he took another draw from his cup. pfft. As if Sylvia hadn't noticed how awkward he was at times.

"That is all very workable," Lex murmured, eyes thoughtful. Rockabilly maybe? Punk, apocalyptic, steam punk. Leather and denim would be easy enough, maybe sturdy canvas. Something that could take a beaten. "It really matters what you are comfortable in. We can play with a few things."

“You think about compliments too much,” Sylvia giggled remembering his uneasiness the last time she’d complimented him as well. She hoped it didn’t mean that she seemed insincere. She could tell that he was… well, confident in most everything else about himself, but uncomfortable with comments on his physique at least, and possibly all compliments… she wasn’t sure yet. But it wouldn’t stop her even if he was; she’d work to get him used to accepting compliments when she could.

She shifted out of the way of Asher and stifled a chuckle at Brian’s comment – ‘recreational’ indeed. Did he even realize how apt his wording was? She hummed in agreement that this party was probably as much for Misha as it was for everyone, but that didn’t change that it was a wonderful sentiment.

The next he said made her startle, however – she turned to him with furrowed brows and an amused smile that seemed to say, ‘how absurd!’ “Really? Says who?” She was genuinely surprised. By all their interactions, Sylvia had found Brian to be a pleasant and friendly person. Even in the Bayou, whatever stiffness she had felt she had assumed was natural when first getting to know someone, especially after having taken down a fanged dear with them. She’d never found Brian awkward. Was that another one of his insecurities? Or had someone actually told him that?

Ed happily took his glass back from Misha as she returned to him, and had it halfway to his lips before Mercy's comment made him pause, snorting softly. "I am Captain America." He just wasn't a very good Captain America. Just a shirt and his usual dark jeans. Oh well. He hadn't cared much that his costume was on the lamer side wen he'd arrived, and he certainly didn't care now that he was comfortably buzzed.

Nor, apparently, did Misha. Her hand found his, and he let her begin to draw him along, at least until Rob offered a momentary distraction. Ed could be patient though, and he waited for her to offer the Brit a kiss, unsure as to what penance she owed him, and apparently still unbothered by the casual affection being thrown around between Chosen.

Beth glanced at Briiva's costume nervously. Though the silken fabric of her dress wasn't particularly flammable, she wasn't in a rush to test it. "Er, well, yes, you did a really good job on the, er, project but um...didn't that movie hinge on the robot blowing up?"

Laughing at Mal's cheek, Misha rolled her eyes. His hand still on her hip, she gave a teasing little bump to dislodge him. "You're so picky. If you think it's missing something, go on and do your worst," she laughed. "I'll get drunk on something else."

With very little warning then, Misha rose on her toes and pressed a soft kiss to Mal's lips. Again, it was borderline chaste, close-mouthed and sane, but it lingered just a bit beyond a casual friendly brush before she drew back with a wink. "Mmm, that works."

Somehow she avoided laughing even while shooting a super-sassy smile at both Mercy and Rob, inviting them to enjoy the joke. Then she gave a little bow, turned on her heel, and snatched up Edward's hand again. "Come on, Ed," she urged. "Before someone gets all competitive." She dragged him away from the others and out onto the dance floor before anyone could argue.
