When she loosed the arrow, she was pleasantly surprised to see her shot go clear through one of the birds, bringing it down hard. Good. At least she could say she took one down of this... mob. But definitely, they were picking them off, one by one, bit by bit. Rather amazing, really.

Never had Misha been so glad of enforced stage crew duty, she thought, as she skidded to a stop between the women working at blocking the broken window more firmly. She cast a bright grin at Beth, someone she only knew by sight, and snatched up one of the hammers. Then she claimed a few nails and, with surprising skill, drove them home. "It's like a lever. Don't choke it up against the head or you won't get swing on it." She winked at Beth, beamed at the other two women, and then took off down the hall towards the sound of crashing. Some birdbrain was trying to get in somewhere else! 199

Zebulon watched as another chair was stacked on top of his prior chair.
Well, the sign probably wasn't moving now. Maybe he should find something else to fortify, then. He decided to head towards the kitchen area and pick up some of the utensils, along with a broken, already splintered chair seat. Once he found locations that he could jam the utensils into without them slipping out, he shoved them in, jabbing out randomly.
Then, he walked into the dining area, popped a window open slightly, and shoved the chair bottom into the window. On the sides of it, he put in some tablecloths to keep the chair bottom stable.
Bird stabbing!

Maybe the problem, Rob thought, was the room was too small to swing a greatsword, and that had interfered with his movement and caused him to miss the bird. Before the thing had a chance to attack, he placed a hand on the ricasso of the blade, wielding the big weapon more like a scythe, and swung at the bird. That helped -- he at least hit it this time, catching it across the breast and causing it to squawk in surprise.

Brian let out his first smile of the battle, subtle though it may be, when he loosed an arrow and saw a bird fall out of the sky. Fantastic!
...how was everyone going to retrieve their arrows, though, with so many archers in here?!

Mercy was honestly surprised that most of the chosen wanted to stay behind to defend the hotel. She already knew that this decision wouldn't settle well with a lot of people, but this was their best chance right about now. Out there was a greater risk of death, in here they had a better chance. She readied her hammer, making sure there were no other people around that could get in the way of her swing, smiling when she hit a diving bird in the neck.

Cat heaved a sigh of relieve as another Chosen rushed passed her and assaulted the bird with his greatsword- well tried to anyways, on his first attempt. She cringed as the hit missed but smiled when his second hit connected smoothly. She drew back the arrow she had notched and shouted at him to move right before she released the arrow into the tangled bird. The arrow struck true and the bird fell limp in the drapery. [4:13 pm PST; 4:00-5:00 hour] 56 + 6 = 62 damage

There was a bunch of confusion as someone seemed to have miscalculated where Sylvia's call was coming from. Luckily, they mistake wasn't far, and nails were found in the process -- for which Sylvia tried to give Marisol an obliging nod, though she was somewhat distracted.
Sylvia tried to hold the boards in place as the well-meaning-but-clueless Beth acquired the nails and tried to figure out how to approach the actual nailing of them. Sylvia was about to take over the task herself when another woman with dark hair swiftly approached and took up the task herself, giving a pointer for Beth in the future. Sylvia chuckled a bit as she watched the stranger run off, then nodded at the other two, "Thanks. Now to find the next crisis."207 HP

With the two windows fixed, Marisol headed back downstairs. She wasn't in half way down the stairs when one of the creatures was flying towards her, beak open and ready to bite. The whip that had been resting on her belt loop was pulled free and she flicked her arm sideways, knocking the bird into a spiral that sent it crashing to the floor below. Marisol's Weapon: Whip (4 Base; +1 Hit)
Damage Dealt: (200% x 4) = 8 DMG
70 DMG

Beth paused and then smiled at Misha's advice. "Thanks!" She said, adjusting her grip and helping to hammer in the nails as instructed. Again, she was surprised by how many Chosen there were and yet, apparently how little they could do. Though she supposed their presence turned an inevitability into, perhaps, a complete denial. She paused, then followed after the other women, deferring to their judgment. "I feel like we can't turn around without finding another crisis! Kind of like Spin the Bottle...I guess."HP: 211

It was a pretty pathetic attempt but Misha's shield slammed into the bird trying to enter through the broken window before she fell back a few steps, rebounding from the contact. It didn't seem to hurt the bird but it at least made it pause.
Grimacing, Misha braced her shield against the new hole in the window to try and block the access point. Now would be the time to exercise her lungs, she reckoned. No shame in calling for help. She couldn't block the window and come up with something more solid at the same time.
"Help! Can someone give me a hand here?"

Deciding to stay in the kitchen area, Zebulon looked around for the kitchen delivery entrance. There was usually an entrance for the kitchen deliveries specifically, right?
There was definitely a kitchen entrance in his father's restaurant, at least...
Once he located the entrance, Zebulon grabbed a rectangular cutting board that was sitting out in the open. He jammed it into the handle of the door, hoping to prevent it from easily being turned or opened.

Sidney James - Bow: base damage 6She heard a shout from somewhere by the windows and she frowned, taking a moment to think before she gave up her position and darted across the hotel. Her hole was decently covered... She could be spared to cover another. "Here, I got you!" she said as she aimed over the girl's head. Her confidence in her shooting was growing, and it seemed to show in her steadiness as she aimed and let loose again. Her arrow took a bird through the throat and it fell in a clatter of metal. 84 damage

He'd underestimated the effect of the cold and the fight on himself; he'd needed a long break and he still wasn't up to his best yet-- but he still found a spot and hacked at a bird. He caught it offside, not the best, but his hands and shoulders were grateful.

Rob ducked as the woman's arrow whizzed past him and took out the bird. "Nice shot," Rob grinned at her. "We really need to get that window closed up." Hearing a call for help from elsewhere down the hall, he quickly poked his head out the door. "Be right back!"Dashing down the hall, he skidded into the room where the call for help had come from and saw a small woman with a small shield and Sid, her bow aimed at a bird-monster. "Get down!" he shouted as he swung. And missed. Again. And Sid hit cleanly with her bow and killed the bird. Rob was never going to live this down. 0 + 87 = 87 damage
