nasir vasile || 25/25 || q ___ q That response from Wil seemed to put Nasir at ease and he gave the other a small nod. "Alright. We can just ... see if we find anything out while looking for that hookah room," he said with a small laugh, trying to be more reassuring himself towards Wil. He would be fine. Wil would be fine. It would be fine. "... and like you said, there's cops here ..." Which meant they would do something, hopefully.

jeremiah mercer || 25/25 || talking with alg, zac, and marcus "Not until the party is all over," Jeremiah agreed with Algie, recognizing the droll tone for what it was worth. "I'm sure there will be cake but do you even have room for it with all the baked goods we had before hand?" Teasing was much better than letting the other parts of the mood settle down upon them. At Zac's sleeve tugging, he looked to him and nodded. "I do as well but I'm not sure there's much to be done or said before we get in there and get a handle on the situation."

Chris Watts || 25/25 || Talking to Jer & Alg
There was a mild flush of pleasure at being praised by the cats, a light blush to his cheeks, but it was uncomfortable almost. Chris was being praised for something that was rather unpleasant and while he seemed to get an answer, a slightly vague one but one that pointed towards a yes, it wasn't entirely what he wanted to hear. He turned his head to the rest of the crowd, his eyes finally falling upon a pair of familiar people and with that he slipped through the crowd to them.
"I don't suppose you have a better plan than just rush in and hope for the best?" Chris asked Jeremiah, giving a nod to Alg, Zac, and anyone else that was around. He didn't like the sound of what was going on, but it was nice to see a comforting figure around.

Marcus LeCroix 25/25 talking to peeps and catsWell, that both gave him confidence as well as took away some of his notions that maybe he'd be okay. At least if he was going to be kidnapped and or killed he'd die with a full stomach so there was that going for him. Fidgeting with the buttons on his coat, the man cast a look to Zac, a small smile on his face at the laugh. "What? It is a legitimate question. They invited us to a party and I just want to be sure they're going to be decent hosts at least, murder and sacrifice aside." When you lived in a perpetual fear that the same government you worked for might also be corrupt and out to create an army of mindless drones devoid of free will and thought you tended to try and find small blessings. Or just freak out. So far, the worst had been the whole 'man sits on my porch for 30 minutes then vanishes after giving me a letter and it feels a lot like when I got a love letter from Susan when I was all of 14'. Marcus still had no idea how Susan had become so good at avoiding him back then after the letter's delivery. From what he remembered, apparently she had graduated school the same year he did, moved to the west coast and was now living as a radio DJ. Proof that sometimes, vanishing letters and people weren't all bad. Just.. awkward and a bit alarming until later on. He hoped like that whole love letter vanishing act, this would end with everyone walking away okay. Still, Marcus considered the rather frightening fact that there was a vampire, (he wasn't surprised. They were a very well kept government secret from colonial times.), and he gave the cats a second glance. The vampire was human enough to be invited so they must be okay? Maybe. He'd have to figure that out. If they were undead or vampire was just human but super human or human enough what percent human did these cats really know what made a human? Dang this was a philosophical train of thought he hadn't anticipated on having. Anyway. " Well, I.. I rather would like to have a way to address you both. How do the names Zuul and Vinz sound?" He was trying very hard to not think about the whole 'someone will die' factor. Instead? Try to give names to the cats so he'd not have to call them 'Cat 1' and 'Cat 2' "Jeremiah, Algie, do either of you have better suggestions? I'm not good with naming things."

algernon mercer || 25/25 || waiting and talking "Hello-" Alg paused because outfits and masks, but he slid the pieces into place and gave the young man a genuine smile "-Chris. How are you?" "I suggest we don't antagonize supernatural beings," Alg sighed a bit at Marcus, "Perhaps they don't want to make our formal acquaintance." The man's green eyes rose to the cats through his mask, then back down, "We are mere humans after all. Don't force things that are unwanted-" If Alg had learned any small bit about other ashdown beings it was that information should be coaxed or eased, and strong arming anything would not end in your benefit. There seemed to be some unspoken level of expectation in the younger generation- like they were owed things like introductions and instructions. Explanations even.. but as an expert hermit he knew very well that people, as well as supernatural creatures, owed none of those things should they not want to share. "I'm certainly ready to get on with it-" His hand untangled from Jeremiah's to offer his husband his elbow. It was a formal dance after all.

Most people knew Nasir though Wil was just his deadbeat 'friend' or 'roommate' as far as most knew. Still, he recognized some from the bad incidents at Blackfriars and if this was people who were wrapped up in magical things maybe Lily was were. "You think Lily is here?" He guided them further into the throng of people. AMItotic just two noodles looking for you (and your date) maybe

Alexis Tucker: 25/25, passing out stolen drinksPeople didn't seem to mind Alexis stealing their drinks - well, that was one way to think about it. The other, much more preferable way to think about it, was that Alexis was just that light fingered. That was a nice little ego boost. "Here," they shrugged, handing off one to Autumn after their loop through the crowd and sipping at the one in their hand. "I have no clue what this is, but if it's decent, we're clear." ---- Ashton Carver / 25/25 / Greeting LilyConsidering that the other times they'd met they'd been wordless animals (and people had shied away from Ashton, then -- she couldn't blame them, really; it had been wolverines at Blackfriars and she looked just the same), this was the best situation to really approach Lily in: plenty of crowds, plenty of semi-ruckus. Ashton approached the other young woman and raised a hand in greeting, tail flat to her leg. "I didn't expect to see you here, Lily." And that was it. Polite as always.

Chris Watts || 25/25 || Talking to Jer & Alg
Chris grinned at Algie, pleased he could figure him out even despite the (honestly, way too elaborate mask) mask that was on him. "I'm good, or as good as one can be when being told they're basically been invited to stop a murder at a dinner party," He said, grin dropping a little. "How are you? You look rather.. handsome? Like a romance novel cover, one of the old ones," He teased back, gently, trying to lighten the mood. His own outfit was rather intricate, a byproduct of his sister getting too excited when he had told her what he needed, though if the mist creeping by was any indication it was about to gain a little more detailing.
Chris gave a rather thorough look at Jeremiah, finally taking in his outfit in full, and gave him a rather knowing smile but nothing else. He would get away with teasing Algie for now, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to try Jer yet.

[25/25 | EVE]: addressing cats/group "If we don't know everything about the situation, finding out should be our first task," suggested Eve from behind her mask. She was enjoying the formal attire a little too much for her own good. Her wife, unfortunately, was less happy about the magically enforced dress code. [25/25 | LEILA]: n/aThat was at least partially because the dress Leila had been given was a wispy thing that, were it in fabric less apparently expensive, could be described as skimpy. Eve kept reassuring her it was simply risque, but that was bullshit. It was no outfit in which to encounter magical forces of dubious intent, that was for dang sure.

Jamie Delacroix | 25/25 | approaching Eve and Leila Away from the crowd seemed like a good enough place to stand while Jamie got his bearings, but honestly, he felt no better than he had when he'd first stepped before the cats and their guarded gate. He'd arrived as a hare, but felt strangely compelled into his half-self, where the clothes he'd spent a good portion of his savings on swiftly and miraculously shifted into something entirely different (and entirely too lacey). That alone wouldn't have destroyed the courage Jamie had mustered when he came here. No, it was the loss of his dark blue beanie that did it. What now sat perched between his inhuman rabbit ears was a large, loose cap lined in lace.
The beanie had been a gift from Shiloh, one used to cover his ears the first time, and Jamie had hoped beyond hope he would manage to slip into the ball with it unnoticed. It was gone now, though, and he was unsure if he'd see it again, unsure if the magic would wear off when all of this was over. The thought almost made him want to cry. For that, he felt like a child.
It was such a lonely feeling. Standing here now, without Shiloh for support, Jamie realized he hadn't made as much progress as he'd thought. He couldn't be alone anymore.
Wrapping his arms around himself, he stepped closer to the rest of the guests, some familiar and others not, even behind their masks. The long, elegant, and almost dress-like coat he'd been forced into pooled around his feet and hid his hare toes, as long as he wasn't walking, at least. "E-Eve...?"EVERYONE PLS HELP if you're near Jamie feel free to notice him he's awkward ok

Gabriella Duncan :: 25/25 :: Arriving, learning that magic is real. It had been pretty relieving to learn the envelope was just an invitation to a party, but it had been pretty much the opposite of relieving to learn they expected fancy dress. She didn't have any fancy dress!! This was a problem. She did her best with what she had - which ended up being a sort of plain but nice red dress, black stockings, low heels, and a homemade mask. (And her skull necklace. She was getting really attached to that thing.)
Finding the place was a bit of a chore. She was obviously a little late, because there was already a crowd of people gathered around the front gates, talking to each other and for some reason addressing the cats on the wall, looking - well, like something out of a fantasy novel, all kinds of colors and cuts and textures of fabric. And some of them were... wearing really elaborate fursuits? What was that.
She found out shortly thereafter that at least some of the visuals probably weren't their wearers' own doing, because as she approached, she felt a weird shiver creep up her, like she was under intense scrutiny. Then she felt the fabric of her dress change; the neckline lowered, the skirt billowed, the sleeves scurried down her arms and over half the top of her hands, and a collar sprouted up off the shoulders. She was pretty sure her heels got another inch on them, too - the toes were definitely more pointed than they were at the outset. Her necklace stayed unchanged, as far as she could tell. And her mask - she took it off to look at how it had changed, because she could feel that it definitely had. Instead of a simple papier-mache domino mask covered in acrylic, was now a glossy wooden animal skull varnished black.
Well.
Apparently magic was real, and it gave a hoot about fashion. Either that, or this was the most vivid dream she'd ever had. Whichever it was, she was along for the ride now, probably whether she liked it or not.
Bri laughed out loud, not really knowing whether it was genuine or hysterical, and twirled towards the group. Popping her mask back on, she asked nobody in particular, "Is this for real? Do I get to keep it, or is it gonna turn into a pumpkin at midnight or something?"

[25/25 | EVE]: mom mode activated "Jamie," Eve greeted, the smile obvious in her voice before she tilted up her mask -- was that allowed? -- for him. "Here for the party?" Obvious question, they all were, but it was small talk meant to calm the were-hare's nerves. Touching his shoulder briefly, she nodded over to Leila, saying, "Have you met my wife yet? I'm sure she's seen you at the shop at least once or twice." [25/25 | LEILA]: bein' introduced to The Bun Son"Hiya," Leila waved, sort of stiffly. There was a visible blush creeping out from under the edges of her lacy blindfold-looking mask. "Nice to meet you. I ******** hate this dress. How are you?"

nasir vasile || 25/25 || with wil, making a beeline for lily and someone familiar and another moonwalker tho "I think," he said slowly, looking through the crowd of people, "I might be able to find her." It was a wonder Nasir could see through the veil as if they were his real glasses. "I can still see just vine with the veil," the young man murmured. It only took a moment before Nasir caught sight of a familiar pair of ears, which of course meant that- "Lily!" he called out, nearly stumbling in heels and the glimmering fabric of his outfit. Her hand was tangled with someone else's, someone who looked familiar ... Not that Nasir did not have a vice like grip on Wil's hand and was pulling him over. Except that it looked like there was another- "Oh, excuse me." Another moonwalker. Nasir gave them an uneasy smile, mostly because- Another absent rub at his arm without a thought. "Hullo all." His face warmed under the veil.

jeremiah mercer || 25/25 || conversing and planning with alg, chris, marcus and zac Jeremiah's lips twitched as he took Algie's elbow, feeling a little bit more besotted. "Thank you, kind sir," he said, glowing eyes glinting. He then inclined his head towards Chris in greeting before he rolled his eyes as the outfits were mentioned. "You are certainly well dressed yourself but I'll leave it at that." Not that he had any problem with it. It looked lovely. "Names give power, Marcus, even the ones we give to them ... So I would be mindful of naming things and simply let them be." As it was, things either offered their names or they did not. It was not something Jeremiah liked to do, even with beings such as the Burning Man who simply seemed to walk into the things that they were (but that was probably a title they gave it). His attention flicked back to Chris who looked like he was probably itching to make some comment about the attire he was in. Jeremiah's fingers flicked and green fire sparked at the tips of them a moment. "Keep the compliments to Alg, Chris," he teased lightly, "and not to the man who did escape from a romance novel cover. As I dressed a prince, but apparently the magic saw fit to make it fallen rogue prince." Not that he couldn't make fun of himself. Totally fair game. "As for plans, I am likely to treat this like an investigation and want to start gathering as much information as possible." It was where to start, at least. From there they would have to put together whatever they likely found out. If this was a game, he somehow suspect that those within the party were aware and would have information to share. After all, they were all mostly still human and likely viewed far differently and far younger.

Shun Kuroda 25/25 | Talking to...several people Shun shook his head at Chel. "It is not as simple as 'beating the bad guys', as you put it. We just do not have much to go off of as it stands. Also once we go through that gates, I have a feeling we cannot step back out until this whole ordeal is done with."Speaking of plans, sharing information, and the like... he stepped back a bit to turn towards Mercer's little group not far off from where he had been standing. "Mercer. Do you want me to accompany you, or should we divide and conquer?" he asked the older detective.
