At the initial static, Shun nearly turned off the radio, but he paused as something more clear came through as the video on the screen continued on.
He tilted his head. It seemed like the audio for the presentation was... coming through his device, rather than the theater speakers. That made it seem like it was live, but there was one very important detail that showed him otherwise.
That damn foot.
"It is not a live feed. That happened already," he stated dryly, "Though why their speech is coming through the radio... I am not certain."
Well, he supposed that was the better of the two options. It would have been incredibly messed up if they were basically watching a stream and then s**t happened to the other group.

Al had seen most of the faces that appeared in the movie around town, of course. He hadn't spoke to more or less anyone since his arrival to the town, two years prior, though. His focus had been, mostly, on fixing up the house and mingling with the tourists that arrived for their stay at Gladstone's.
A foot appeared on screen and Al frowned. He crossed his arms over his wide chest and leaned forward as he watched- cursing himself, quietly, for not bringing his reading glasses.
The authoritative sounding man held a radio that crackled to life with the movie's sound, and Al frowned at that too.
This place is feckin' weird. He thought, to himself- though he did cast a glance to the mannequin at his side; and another at the mannequin propped in front of their only exit. The presence of the odd, shopping mall creatures always lingered at the back of his mind. He'd done his best to avoid them if at all possible.
His suspicions about them had only proved to be confirmed when they'd grabbed that cocky kid and taken his eyes. Al would refuse to have anything to do with the damned things. Would resort to violence, if he had to.
He rolled his shoulders and scowled, attention turning back to the screen. He said nothing, to anyone. Just watched, waited. Straight-backed and impatient in his seat.

He had been managing decently well on the Do Not Disturb front until now, and Theo continued to do so, quietly slipping into a seat as the lights dimmed. There was literally nothing he could do for the man with no eyes, now or ever, so he went back to his original plan. Don't rock the boat until this place spat them out again. As soon as that happened, he was taking the damn boat, rowing it around town until he found one of the people sitting in this theater, and finding out what the ******** was going on.
When no one replied to the woman who had taken a seat in front of him, he leaned forward a bit and said, voice low, "I'm not sure, but—"
And then the cop (?) spoke, and he had his answer. This was apparently a real event that had happened, and those were real people. Yes. One of them looked like a harried version of the man on the back cover of The Red Herring Mysteries. He'd never seen any of the rest of them before in his life.
"I guess it's real?" he finished. "Just... If you've got no idea what's going on, you're not the only one."
And then Theo sat back, silent once more.

The scene shifts. The group is now in a clearing. Something stands with in it with them. It could have been a deer - it may in fact be a deer - but it had multiple legs and six pale mint colored eyes. Autumn Smith approaches it, talking with it. There is another burst of static on the radio, an eerie voice heard. Heliodora, Heliodora.
You forgot her
you left herThe scene fades once more as it is clear the group is trying to talk with the creature. The screen flickers and comes into focus once more. Now there is a grove of mangroves. There is a pool of water and a young woman with ice in her shoulder (part of her) that sits at it. The group is there now but the radio releases only static. Quote: next post will be @ 2100 EST

Shun blinked a few times at the sight of the deer... thing. Was that Pax? The one that had iced Jeremiah's spine? It had been described to him as some deer-slender-man-thing more or less.
That was such a bizarre creature to see, and it was a little hard to comprehend that something like that actually existed out of CG.
His gaze flicked down towards his radio as it sputtered out a few more words. His brow furrowed. That wasn't a voice he really recognized. Who was that supposed to be? While he considered that, he looked back to the screen, taking note of the mangroves with the woman there.
So that was Heliodora as she is now.
The biggest question was... why were they being shown this?

Brows furrowed as Juniper watched the screen. The more she watched, she began to realize that some of the people she had seen around town or at work. Ok. So they weren't complete strangers, but what was going on? The lack of sounds sucked. As if to answer her wants, she miraculously heard voices to match the movement of the people's mouths and it was coming from behind her from Shun's radio. That wasnt odd at all. Then there was a severed foot, a deer looking thing, and the radio had a creepy odd voice coming out of it. "What the hell. Who is Helidora?" She turned to the other curiously after the image of a woman appeared on a screen. everyone around tag from my phone. Sorry for mistakes/crappiness

Images come in bursts after that. Sunny Shore appears on the screen next to the group. "Oh.That explains so much."It flickers again. Jeremiah Mercer has stepped forward and he's speaking. This time it is only part of the dialogue that is heard. "This wasn't Heliodora's place."The scene shifts and there is green fire on the screen, the many-legged deer glowing and staring hard at Mercer who is the circle of the fire. Autumn Smith has wrapped herself around it to try and stop it. "Think about your name, Pax! You're the peaceful one! He's just worried about Heliodora, that's all!" The radio goes static as the sound of a deluge fills the theatre. Water is suddenly everywhere in the mangrove on the scene, Sunny Shore and Mercer at the center of it. The fire is out and Heliodora is standing, heavily leaning on Autumn Smith as the water disappears as if she willed it so. "This is my demesne," she said, "And you're all gonna stop."The screen flickers again and light comes from the behind it, as if someone has opened a door. Footsteps echo in the room and the scene on the screen has gone static on the image of Chris Watts as he is talking. "I'm not sure what happened, or why. I don't know if I want to know. I just want to know one thing. Are you happy and safe here? That's all I care about right now."The sound of footsteps get closer, Shun's radio fallen silent and the screen gone black. "What was that?" Temperance hadn't recognized any of the people in that odd film, aside from Zac. What was the point of showing them some kind of Bryan Fuller tableau with deer and severed feet. Frankly, she didn't get it. Maybe she should be treating it like a lecture and taking notes. But, perhaps because she simply wasn't all that invested in the screen, she noticed the footsteps and stiffened. That... that wasn't part of the movie. "Someone's in here," she hissed. "Like a walking someone." Then, because what could it ******** hurt, she called out: "Who's there?" Her voice was a little sharp, on edge.

Shun stared at the screen intently. He had heard about this event, but it was another thing to actually see it. That was... if this recording could be considered reliable. It was entirely possible that some things had been altered.
However, as the footsteps became audible, he paused and looked around. The fact that they seemed to get closer as his radio went quiet only made him more wary. The detective put the radio away, tightening his grip on the pocket knife as he sat still, trying to figure who or what was out there.
All the while, he didn't say a single word.

Temperance's voice echoed in the theatre but, for the moment, there was no answer.

Chris had just been trying to take his trash out.
Tomorrow was trash day in the complex and he always preferred to set out all his garbage the day before, no matter how small. It felt like some form of cleaning, having it all out at some set time, and so he stuck to the routine even if it was a little inconvenient. As it was, he had just toed on his shoes, thrown his bag over his head, and opened the door to his apartment with a small bag of trash in his hand. Maybe he'd get grocery shopping done, while he was out.
Unfortunately what met him was not, in fact, the nicely lit apartment hallway but rather some backstage that was most definitely OAD. And Chris, not entirely paying attention, had already shut his door behind him and heard the unmistakable click of a lock. It didn't take a genius to figure out he wasn't about to be using that door to get back.
He huffed and looked around as he began to move forward, unease starting to build as he realized he could hear some sound of some type. The closer he got though, he realized it sounded vaguely familiar. Almost like it was him and he frowned, catching the tail end of a sentence that sounded very familiar.
There was a sudden voice, "Who's there?", sounding like it was close and Chris pushed his way through finally to the front of a stage, wondering who else was there. What faced him was a sea of very faint looking people, a scattered more solid in the group.
"Oh," He said, and with the sudden realization he should have answered the question tacked on, "It's just me." He gave a small wave with his one hand free of his trash bag.

"And who are you?" Temperance eyed the man warily, "Besides one of the people on the movie." However, there was no way to be certain this was the same man nor a way to determine (aside from vivisection) that he was mostly human. She frowned.

"I'm Chris Watts," He answered, realizing he probably should have started with that. "I teach at the highschool. Who are you?" The last bit of the question was addressed to everyone as a whole and he took another glance at the audience, wondering what exactly the faintly looking human things were.
He frowned as the rest of her sentence caught up to him. "Wait, I was in a movie that was playing? What was it about?" Things like that never bode well in Other Ashdown and it was better to get all the facts.

"Oh hey, it's the...guy," Lily called out from her seat in the peanut gallery. It seemed to be of no particular surprise to the girl, considering they'd all presumably been dragged to the other world some similar way. She tried not to think of him at Blackfriar's, the things that had been done there, the lives that had been ruined and destroyed. "You here to drop some knowledge on the whole foot thing, Teach?"

Chris's words, the ones that had been heard on Shun's radio now play on the theatre's audio system. It is only part of what was said, not all of it. "Are you happy and safe here?"It then repeats further pared down. "Safe here?"Then again but the questioning tone was gone and made to be more of a statement. "Safe. Here."The lights of the theatre slowly come back on, the area no longer dim. Half of the mannequins that had taken up the seats were gone. The mannequin with it's head tilted at a broken angle still remains near Connor and Temperance. Quote: next post will be around 1800 EST
