"I'm positive they knew." Kairatos growled, still frustrated and defensive. "There were marks and signs of excavation, they went looking for something down there, and it showed. I don't think it's any kind of coincidence that the code didn't start talking like some kind of Rift Recruitment agent until fairly recently, Easter. Even in a goddamn war full of magic, that's way too damn much coincidence."

And entirely too much underestimating their intelligence and organization for him, but he wasn't sure much what to make of her anyway, or that... well... rather horror movie lumbering bear.

"I don't even remember if it's a full moon." He added, with equal frustration. "Be nice if holding hands and singing Kymbaya worked, I've been wondering it there was a way to do that without..."

He was about to voice his opinions on the Trancendance process, which were... unflattering, but instead he let his eyes drift over the glowing marks on HugBell with an noncommittal noise in the back of his throat. "I"ve been wondering about that. The Negaverse can do a version of it, and they're pretty much the corrupt version of... well so far everything we are."

They'd seen Ascended's before they'd seen Transcended. And they'd seen Caedus's crystals, which, whatever they were, did not feel like Chaos... but that was as far as he'd gotten in all his wondering.

"Ring anyone you can think of though... worst comes to worse they tell us there's no full moon right? And we don't know that we need permission to jump back just to get here."

They could always take her back with them, dangerous as that might be, it was no less dangerous than being trapped here... right?

Sailor Ananke, Senshi of Portals

Ananke smiled when Subamara found her and followed her to the group. "I'm glad I didn’t get separated from everyone... oh how are they doing now?" When Ananke made it over to where Athene and everyone was she smiled as best she could as to not show any worry over their current situation.

“Oh um… I didn’t get to introduce myself properly to some of you before… you know um… well even I know that wasn’t the time for introductions.” Ananke rambled before stopping and grinning awkwardly for a second before returning to her usual smile. “A-anyway I’m Sailor Ananke… senshi of portals… I’m kinda… really new to all this and um I really don’t understand any of this.”

She probably just realized she sounded like a moron as she laughed nervously.

Super Sailor Thrymr, Senshi of the Southern Lights

He knew, somewhere in the back of his mind, that he was being unfair; that Hugbell could not possibly have understood the extent of what he had gone through down there. But that was the problem in and of itself, Thrymr thought, as he wiped a little more blood off of Cosmos' face. She did not know, and she was pretending to know, pretending that she understood, pretending that they had all gone through the same thing. That they could somehow relate.

He didn't want to relate. He didn't want to be around anyone.

He wanted to go home.

Thrymr did not answer Hugbell's offer verbally, but he gave a tight nod of his head; he wasn't quite sure that he could trust himself to speak, not when he was trying so desperately to just hold onto what little sanity he had left. The calm and gentle personality he had was slipping away into something more tense and pained, less controlled.

He felt sick inside.

There was a voice somewhere above his head. Thrymr turned slightly, catching sight of a young man with wavy brown hair, a water bottle extended out towards him. He hesitated, then reached out and accepted it, awkwardly unscrewing the cap one handed, as Cosmos was still resting with her head against his hand.

"Thank you," he said quietly, and managed a strained flicker of what might have been a ghost of a smile before it faded again. "And I...is that where we are? The moon?"

There were others gathering now, a young redheaded boy among them, something in his arms. Snarky, angry comments were being thrown, people snipping at one another - and at Cosmos - but Thrymr glanced back at Cosmos herself, holding out the bottle of water towards her.

"Here," he said softly, "You should drink something, he's right."

Sailor Remus, Senshi of Regolith

"No," said Remus, casting a look back at Sessrumnir, a grin spreading across his bruised and bloodied face. "Only sometimes. I could do Harry Potter references, if that would make it better. Or maybe more Pokemon, if that suits your fancy."

They - or rather, Sessrumnir - were being squawked at. Remus's brows rose as he turned to look, head tilted curiously, one arm resting across his knee, still half kneeling. He wasn't entirely certain what the argument was about, but whatever the case, tensions were high.

Trust me, I'm an engineer, added with the wink, however, made Remus snort with amusement.

His gaze moved back to the woman in white - Cosmos, it seemed - and then back to the rest of the people milling about. Remus couldn't exactly say that he was familiar with the vast majority of them, especially since he very much wasn't; but he supposed he could understand their frustrations all the same.

"Well, I still don't trust that Caedus dude," he said with a shrug. "He just sorta tossed us in here, after all. Or there, I mean, Mordor," he added, with a wink of his own at Sessrumnir. "So I mean, I guess it makes sense that people are being all concerned and s**t, you're right."

He frowned a little, lifting a hand to run it through his hair, black and purple strands sifting beneath his fingers.

"So what now?" Remus asked. "We just have ourselves a moon party?"

Tomlin, Guardian Cat

The sunlight-warmth and peace of the journey passed, but Tomlin was used to harsh outdoor weather. The cold drew no comment from the exhausted cat. His eyes flickered open for only a moment upon landing, noting the castle grounds, the layout. A safe place. Using the energy beam took far too much out of him, he thought. There had to be a better way… He let his heavy eyelids fall shut, drifting into a catnap far deeper than he’d intended.

He didn’t twitch when Chibi Oort joined him on the chilly courtyard stones.

His ear flicked at Oberon’s voice calling to him, but his eyes remained closed.

His tail swished slightly as Oort apologised and lifted him up, but his defences were so far down, all he could think was ‘warm’, and he snuggled against the arms that held him with a faint purr, something he would never do when properly awake, and would vehemently deny later. His groggy mind slowly caught up with what was going on, but before he was fully aware enough to form a protest, he was set down.

There was a lot of talking going on, and that was what finally persuaded Tomlin to open slitted eyes to the world, blinking slowly at Cosmos and those gathered around her. She didn’t look any better than those she’d rescued, but with everyone pooling their magic to help her, it was hopefully a temporary situation. He glanced at Hugbell’s phone, but made no move towards it. Better to let someone more techno-savvy than him play with that. Or someone with enough energy left to break out the opposable thumbs.

The starseeds. Yes, that was top priority. He yawned wide and toothily, and began retrieving the hidden gems from his subspace one by one, gently batting them into place beside the larger piles the others were depositing. His was a small haul, but each one was a life, a soul, a precious person, and he treated the ten he’d pocketed with as much care as if they were newborn kittens. The last he withdrew had a brighter shine to it, and he pushed that one forward, closer to the injured senshi in white, so it wouldn’t get lost. He didn’t know what that brightness meant, but if there was any hope at all, surely Cosmos would know what to do. Oort had found a similar one, he noted, but he couldn’t spot any others in the piles. Let this be good news, he thought.

Chris Gallo

As much as Chris appreciated everything Cosmos has done for them, he understood where Paris was coming from. Many had risked their lives that night. Many had lost their lives.

At this point, it was obvious what Cosmos had done for them, and while he was sure she only meant to help them out of the goodness of her heart, the more she had to advertise exactly what she did for them and what she sacrificed to do it, the less sincere it seemed. He knew she was kind. She'd helped him when he called for her. He just wished she trusted others to realize what she had done for them and been more modest about her rarely seen powers and what she did for them. What she does for all of them.

"Were you able to save those who died, too? Their starseeds, I mean," he quickly clarified. He knew it might have been more than her power allowed to save all of them, but he was still hopeful.

When Alexandria approached him and Paris with Harmonia, Chris grimaced in realizing that he had powered down too soon. The energy leaking from his damaged starseed didn't seem to affect him quite as much when he was powered down, but in doing so, he'd forgotten to take out the starseeds and extra vials he'd been given.

"Y-yeah, give me a second," he told Alex as he took a deep breath to settle himself. He would have to do it sooner than later, but that didn't mean he had to like it.

Chris turned away from Alex and Paris as he lifted a hand to press against his chest in preparation for powering up and the pain that would come with it. It seemed to be getting worse with each transformation, although he could very well be imagining it, or just be making a big deal out of nothing. It didn't feel like nothing. He didn't want anyone to see the strain it caused him, but in a crowd like this, the best he could do was turn away from those closest to him and hope no one else was paying attention.

A cold sweat broke out along his brow as he called the energy forth from his starseed, the shroud of Valhalla enveloping him once more. He swayed where he stood, his breathing labored from the effort. If anything, he probably looked absolutely ridiculous from a bystander's point of view. He had some cuts and bruises and blood down his arm from where Apatite stabbed him, but anyone paying attention would have realized he hadn't used any of his magic. Soon after his almost corruption and the starseed being damaged, he was still able to use his magic, even though it wasn't always reliable.

Now, he couldn't use it at all.

Valhalla turned and lowered himself to the ground on his knees beside Paris, before his legs could give out on him. Paris at least knew that he had trouble powering up these days, but the sensation would at least pass soon enough, but this was the first time he'd powered up in front of Alexandria or anyone else since the incident.

"H-here," he said softly as he forced himself to breathe slowly and steadily, not wanting to alarm Alex as he shakily reached into his pocket to pull out the vials. He unhooked the pouch that held the starseeds and dumped them into Alexandria's hands, but didn't meet his eye. As soon as he passed the vials and starseeds he'd kept, he powered down again with a shaky exhale.

“No, I'm sorry, I didn't see what happened to Cyllene,” he shook his head and kept his eyes lowered, hands on his knees as he knelt on the ground to keep them from noticeably trembling. “Azurite was with her…” So hopefully they would both be okay, although he was sure he was just as bad about hiding his distress as Paris.

Goretti

Goretti debated for a moment; he did not want to leave her side, but he did not want to leave Cosmos without the starseeds she had requested. He figured for as long as he was there, he'd probably be a distraction and prevent her from clearing her mind, so he finally nodded. "Okay, I'll go drop them off real quick. But I'll be right back," he promised. He gave her shoulder a quick, gentle clap and then bolted towards the front of the crowd.

He was delicate with the starseeds, but he didn't waste time. It took him a moment or two, even in his haste, before he'd deposited all of them in the pile collecting for Cosmos—and then he ran right back to Aptera. "I'm here! Okay! Show me your back! What am I looking at!" he asked. He didn't know how bad it was, but he was still running on an adrenaline high and didn't want to let her down.

He wanted her to be okay. For all the people that weren't.

Newgrange

Newgrange glanced at the male and was quiet for a moment before he nodded. "I'll do that," he promised, but there was no certainty to it. He didn't want to ask for help and he was happier to pretend like everything was fine. But holding his arm at that angle was doing it more harm than good, so he kept his body slightly turned so as not to draw anymore attention to it than necessary.

Falias had seen through his lie, and it was as plain on the male's face. He wasn't going to waste the effort to maintain the lie if he'd already been caught.

His arm hung by his side and he slowly clenched and unclenched his hand into a fist, as if he needed to keep doing it to assure it was still there. He scanned the crowd before shaking his head. "I don't think I know anyone who can share energy." Most of these faces didn't even look familiar. He didn't like being of no help, so he gave the other Squire an apologetic look. "Sorry. I don't think I'll be of any help, unless anyone has a sweet tooth back home."

Alexandria

Alexandria's eye twitched as he watched Paris sass Cosmos. Paris, why. Alex wanted to whine at her that she better behave, but Paris would likely respond with that she was always on her best behavior. So for now he ignored it.

"Yeah well, with the stunt you pulled. I'm not surprised." Alex sighed. For as much as he wanted to power down, he had things to finish up first. The squire let Paris fuss over Harmonia for a few moments as he turned to watch Chris.

"...I'm going to take that as a no." He said, blinking down at the three vials and starseeds. Shrugging, Alex brushed them off. Why Valhalla had them, was Val's business. Not Alex's. Valhalla had been through enough today that he didn't need questions from the peanut gallery today. "Please use this." He said, passing off one of the vials back to his friend. "It will help Chris." Even if it was just a little bit. He repeated the action, handing another vial off to Paris before getting to work on Harmonia.

Mauvian Ash

Silver ears perked, catching someone mentioning phones and allowing cats to use them. Ash snorted out loud and reached out to squeeze Mont Blonc's shoulder before she left him to rest, her sailor form slipping away to the normal humanoid form she'd had for a few months now. The new henshin experiment was a rousing success, she concluded, but it was limited. That battle had been very much a trial-by-fire, but she had held up decently well through it. Far better than simple cat or human form would have.

Being teleported out of the Rift had been startling and arriving on the moon had been both relieving and exciting. She'd only been here the one time and space travel would always have a secret place in her heart. Relief had been an exhausting flood of emotion expressed best by Aegir's bear hug of doom. Ash had been content to keep Monty company and clean the both of them up as best she could, but hearing all the talk as motivation enough to get up and pace barefoot towards the crowd around the shining white senshi, pushing her way between them.

"If anyone wants to go, then go." She called as she went. "Its like any other Moon visit, just concentrate on Earth and press the Moon button on your phone. Duh. Knights might need to hitch a ride, but I think if you concentrate like you do when you go to your wonder, it might probably work."

It wasn't long before she had wormed her way over to Thyrmr where he tended Cosmos, her tail flicking behind her.

"I can mass contact senshi, but I don't think it'll do any good. Its not a full moon, so there isn't any way for them to get up here to help us... we're on our own while we're here." Her face fell as she looked down at the fallen senshi and she dropped to sit on her knees beside her and Thrymr.

"I wish I could help you more. That was very powerful magic you did, pulling us, ALL of us, out of the rift at once. I haven't heard of anyone being able to do that before and I can only imagine what the cost was... but you have anything from me that I can do for you." She said softly.

A mass message was not a bad idea though... there were a lot of friends and comrades who weren't here, who needed to know they were okay. A touch to her headset called up her holographic keyboard and Ash punched in a quick message, activating a protocol she had set up ages ago for this. It pinged softly as she sent it and all around, senshi phones began to go off with messages.

Quote:
Speaking to the group as she goes ~

Mass Message

Hello Everyone, The Silver Lady here with a status update!

The venture into the Rift using the portal created by our visitor, Caedus, was not as successful as we had hoped. However, we have made some important discoveries.

Some of our number did not make it and for them we ask a moment of silence for their bravery and sacrifice. They will be remembered for what they did for all of us.

The rest of us were pulled from the Rift by Princess Cosmos and are regrouping safely on the moon. So don't worry! We'll be home soon!

Feel free to direct questions to a reply to this message, and I will do my best to field them or direct them on to the appropriate party!

Eternal Aegir of Silence

There was no response he could give to Scholomance's observation on the levels of hell they'd been through that wouldn't come out acerbic, so the singed blond simply nodded and held himself carefully at his friend's side. "Apatite was a General Queen, like the one you were facing off with."

"It was a stupid, suicidal mission that we should never have gone into. We were unprepared as hell and it shows." Although Aegir - and his civilian counterpart - tended towards the optimistic side of things, he was endlessly pissed about the whole situation with Caedus and his stupid portal, with the protracted battles they'd gone through...with the casualties and hurts coming out. "Such a waste." His folded his arms around his middle gingerly, raw hands clenched against the feel that blood was on his hands too. I never should have let them go, none of us should have gone. We've paid heavily for our folly.

Silence fell heavy over the senshi, his head bowed; he barely heard his friend's words: Code. Olympus. Knowledge lost. Scorpion Youma. Later, when he was better able to process things, perhaps he would ask - these were important, so very important. But right then he wasn't ready or able to pull these ideas into anything but fragments washing over him. What finally brought him back were the questions, the mention of water and still cooking flesh. He's right, we can't stay here. Anyone with burns needs more than meager first aid. Acid and fire, smoke in the lungs. Exhaustion. We're a sorry lot and we need to be on Earth, in a hospital.

"I don't know. Maybe we can just travel back, like visiting our planets. Or wonders." But he really didn't know and now that the adrenaline was fading he felt everything so much more deeply than before. Perhaps Cosmos could say, or those near her. There are some that seem to know more... "I'm going to go see if one of them knows--"

“Honey, you are not the only person who spent more energy than they had tonight,” A strident, harsh tone cut across the ruins and filled his ears as he pushed up onto his feet, stumbling on legs as unsteady as a newborn colt. Once he'd stabilized, Aegir's expression hardened as he saw whom was speaking in such a disrespectful, taunting, awful manner. Paris continued with a mocking “Poor you.” and he felt his face contort with anger.

Who the hell did she think she was?! Cosmos had just saved their lives - and Paris was acting like a grade A spoiled b***h. Didn't it matter that they'd all likely be dead if Cosmos hadn't overreached herself to bring them to the moon? Could Paris not see that while she might have exhausted and overextended herself to the point of fainting, Cosmos was in far worse shape? The pale haired woman didn't even have the energy to argue with them - but Paris could throw a tantrum just fine.

"Shut up," Aegir's voice was low and soft as he moved back towards Cosmos and the group surrounding her, but he said it again - stronger - and when he finally got to where he was able to see all those worn, filthy faces, he straightened his shoulders and snarled it even though Paris had already moved on, the words tumbled from him with the inexorable force of a waterfall - there was no stopping it, the anger and disgust that bubbled up. It wasn't even all about Paris, but she had presented herself as a target with her petulant bitching. "Shut. Up. Paris."

"My god, can you put aside the petty bullshit for five ******** seconds!? This is not a contest of who's done more - we're alive because she," Aegir gestured at Cosmos with one hand, "******** stepped in to save our lives. We should be grateful that she did that, not bitching because she didn't do more or come sooner!" He was done. So done. From the start of this Caedus bullshit, he'd watched seasoned - and supposedly experienced - senshi and knights arguing over the smallest, stupidest things. Egos crashing into egos, blinding them all to the reality that they were against a militant organization that would eat them alive if they couldn't put such things aside for the bigger picture.

And he was done with it. With all of it. Anger mostly spent, the Eternal of Silence moved closer to Thyrmr, wanting to touch him even just a little for comfort and to reassure himself that yes, his gentle friend really was there. Broken, clearly, but there. He looked down at Cosmos, wanting to ask about going home, but thought better of it - Scholomance was badly injured, might die or be crippled permanently from his wounds - so he raised his voice once more to the crowd.

"Can someone with healing magic please go see my friend? He's burned badly." His own burns were severe, but Aegir was certain that the Knight's were worse. He could wait. Closing his eyes and tilting his head towards the beautiful marble that was Earth above them, the senshi shuddered, voice cracking just a bit. "Please."

He was still standing like that when he heard Ash talking, her voice like sweet bells on his ears after all the screaming and strident tones. That's right. They're alive. Monty and Thyrmr. Scholomance and Ash. We're alive, we made it. I kept my promise. It was good to know they could go back to Earth, that he could get his team medical attention that was sorely needed...even if it would take energy he didn't currently have. Maybe after a small rest? Opening his eyes, Aegir looked down at two of his team, so grateful again that they lived, grateful to Cosmos for rescuing them.

"Thank you, Cosmos." He knelt, going on one knee painfully but intent on being where she could hear him more easily; Aegir's voice was soft, low and exhausted sounding, so unlike his tone when chastising Paris or asking aid for Scholomance. "I am grateful, eternally, for what you've done for us."

Cosmos nodded to each person that brought the starseeds to her; while she herself did not seem rejuvenated by their presence, some of the starseeds began to light up, flickering lightly.

Some that looked dead looked alive again. They floated—they sparkled.

They were ready to go home, and they knew she would take them.

Faintly, Cosmos smiled. Perhaps it was with the starseeds, or perhaps it was Kairatos' attempt at humor.

Bifrost's information made the woman tilt her head just slightly as she considered the thought, but she did not speak of Caedus. Not yet.

"You do not have to thank me," she murmured to Cordoba, offering her as kind a smile as she could manage. To Gevaudan, a bit louder, "I would appreciate avoiding an early grave. I'm afraid I have a lot of work still, and no one to replace me. I am feeling better already, though."

She didn't look much better, but it was a start.

Sabine gave her enough information than Cosmos seemed to slowly be piecing things together; she nodded once more after the girl spoke and thanked her, as well. "Everything you can tell me is helpful."

And every magical boost helped. Oort's magic might not have lasted for long, but its effects were immediate; the boost in strength, even if only for a few seconds, seemed to aid her recovery process.

Even as she was taking in a few deep breaths, she placed a hand on Maia's. "Go, I will be fine, I think. Thank you."

Her hand fell back to her side and she addressed Delphi, next. "I will be well enough to see them home. They will be safe with me.

Cosmos did not speak to Paris, though. She did not look at the woman, or wherever she had disappeared off to. There were many words she imagined she could deliver the girl, but she did not have the energy to deal with such hostilities. Paris could be angry, or upset, but Cosmos' duties were not a choice.

The Cauldron was a responsibility that had taken everything from her.

She missed the comforts of Earth, but there were some obligations you could not hide from.

Not when the continued existence of life relied on you doing your job.

Perdita's voice drew her from the quiet contemplation she had found herself in and she offered a small smile again. "I can take them home. I can take them somewhere safe. They will sleep, and they will heal, and then they will live again. And then they will live long, happy lives, I hope."

Her gaze turned to Hugbell and she offered one more reassuring squeeze. "You have done enough for me, do not apologize. Take care of yourself."

Thrymr was more reassuring than she had words for; she appreciated his dutiful maintenance and had a smile just for him. She raised one hand cautiously to take the water and sipped at it tiredly. She did not manage to swallow much, but she lowered the bottle, caught her breath, and took another small sip. "We are on the moon, yes. It is only temporary," she tried to reassure; these people had been through enough. The last thing she wanted was for them to think they were going to be trapped here forever. Her eyes moved to Chris, and she was quiet for a moment, watching him, but finally shook her head. "No. I could not reach them. I could not hear their voices at all. I am sorry."

She nodded to Ash. "It is not an ability most have. I borrowed energy from the Cauldron. A single person, alone cannot teleport, but…" She was quiet for a moment. "There are methods. Sometimes, the Cauldron shows me things. I wish it were under better circumstances, but if you give me a moment…perhaps I can teach you something. If there are those that wish to listen." Her words were soft, then, as though she were considering perhaps keeping quiet until everyone calmed down—or broaching the topic some other time, when hostilities were not so high.

Still, she made no effort to silence Aegir. Perhaps, because he had said what she never would. She was tired, but offered him a kind smile. "I am not mad at you," she said, speaking to those around her—and to him because he had been loud. He had a voice she did not, and perhaps he could make some use of her words. "Not at any of you. I know what war does to people. I know how desperate it makes you. You did what you had to do. War is not easy. You made a hard decision. All of you. You cannot change what has happened, but you can learn from it. You will be stronger from this."

There was liquid in her eyes, but she wore her tired smile still. She spoke, trying to raise her voice for everyone.

"Whatever was done, for whatever reason, you have left with victory." Friends might have fallen, and that was not an easy thing to handle. But there were starseeds here—hundreds. "If you had not done what you did, the Code would still be suffering. These starseeds—these lives—would be lost forever. You have given all of them a chance at new life."

One tear fell, but she was still smiling.

"How could you think I would be mad at you? This is not a time for anger."

It was not a time for celebration, but it was not a time for anger.

She moved one hand to rest on Aegir's knee. "Do not hurt yourself for me. If your friend cannot get help here, he should be taken to a hospital. You should be looked after, the same," she said, taking a second to glance at all the injured soldiers who had gathered around her. She drew in a shaky breath. "It should not cost you much energy. Clear your mind and you can go home. Just think of Earth and the magic will do the rest."

Cosmos' hands folded into her lap once more and she took a deep breath before she seemed to relax a bit more.

"I do not know who Caedus is," she added. "I have never met him. Be wary of him is all that I ask of you. I do not have energy to confront him, now. But I hope that you will be my eyes and ears, and I hope that you will call me if something seems amiss. The Negaverse will be angry. I will listen closely for you all. Just in case."

Altais, Senshi of Shockwaves

Between the forms of Celsus, Denebola and Corvus, the young man perked up and gently shifted,, moving Dene's head to his lap, rather then his arm, and petting at her hair, like he would a cat. To comfort the brave solider.

To Corvus, he reached over and gently pat her head with his free hand. "There, There Corvus! You did a great job." The senshi would always be grateful for her watchful eye on this reckless group.

Hostility exploded from left and right and hurt Altais to see that most turned their anger to the beautiful woman in white and purples. Where he was grateful, extremely so, some did seem to take that for granted.

But his cousin chose to speak the words that he could never say though he wished too, and instead perked up on Cosmos mention of..

"We can learn something? Something that will help us when you cannot?" Altais cocked his head at Cosmos, "Anything you are bound to pass on to us is going to be more useful then comparing who did what in this war right now! "

Chris Gallo

“Will you shut the ******** up?” Chris spoke up from over his shoulder when he heard someone telling Paris to shut up and sounded like he was accusing her of making it a contest for who used more energy. Did this person just not do anything, meaning they didn’t realize Paris was standing up for every last person who put their lives on the line, using every last bit of energy, every last attack that they had at their disposal to try and clear the path to safety?

Chris pushed himself up from where he’d knelt down beside Paris and Harmonia, his head still spinning from the recent transformation. He turned to see who could have possibly known Paris, and not just Ganymede, and think that she would ever try to make anything about herself. They obviously didn’t know her at all if they thought that way.

He was only slightly surprised when it was the eternal (Aegir) from before, the same eternal who so haphazardly grabbed onto the other senshi (Thrymr), interrupting the other as he tried to help Cosmos. The same one he’d snapped at as knee-jerk reaction when Cosmos was in danger of being trampled on.

“I don’t know how you know Paris, but yelling about how Cosmos saved our lives isn’t helping anyone. Don’t be such a hypocrite. You didn’t even notice, or maybe didn’t care, that she was on the ground and in pain earlier, when I told you to be careful,” he pointed out. Chris had moved passed the senshi’s carelessness as just happiness of seeing his friend, but for him to come back and act all high and mighty now? Like he actually cared before?

Chris’s expression eased just slightly, although he was still irritated that this man would so brazenly yell at Paris without realizing that she was making sure everyone who actually fought and risked their lives weren’t overlooked when taking the sacrifice Cosmos made into account.

“Here, catch,” he said, taking the vials meant for himself and Paris from Alexandria, and tossing one to the senshi (Aegir). “You don’t look so great, either. It’ll help with the pain. Alex,” he turned to his friend. “That knight he’s talking about. He needs it more Paris or myself. He saved Paris from getting killed.” Chris paused to look for the knight in question, holding onto the vial so that Alexandria wouldn’t try to do something with the vial, himself. “Would you mind taking it to him…?,” he said softly, almost a whisper as his head continued to spin.

Paris Gallo

Paris would have completely ignored the bitching had Chris not jumped up to defend her. She wanted to talk more about Cyllene, but she was interrupted before she even had the chance. Chris was tired and in pain, and he should not feel the need to confront an a*****e on her account. More than the words the Eternal Senshi had for her, she was angry that he'd pulled a reaction out of Chris that took more energy than Chris had to give.

Like she'd said, Cosmos wasn't the only one who'd pushed herself to the limit. She might have transported them to the moon, but she was not the only one who'd saved them that night. Everyone who'd fought was responsible for their survival. That some of these people were expressing their gratitude to Cosmos and no one else belittled everything everyone had done.

Once she was sure Harmonia was resting peacefully, Paris stood to her feet slowly. She swayed somewhat, but managed to hold herself upright.

She wasn't concerned at all that this Senshi seemed to know her name. There was more than one way for someone to be familiar with her as a civilian.

“It's alright, Chris,” she said, putting a hand to Chris's arm. “Thank you, but you need to take it easy. His s**t attitude isn't worth you exhausting yourself.”

Paris smiled at the Eternal Senshi (Aegir), the sort of smile she typically reserved for the uppity, holier-than-thou people she often met at social events and charity functions—hypocrites who couldn't practice what they preached. It was a warm, well practiced smile. Fake, but not obviously so.

“If you were paying attention, you would have known that the first thing I did was thank her,” she said calmly. “If you were listening, you would have realized I wasn't making it into a contest. All I did was remind everyone of the fact that other people are responsible for our being here, and that her duties can in no way compare to what we've been through. It seems you suffer from a little bit of selective hearing, so I'll forgive you for that. But you should work on the hypocrisy. Bitching about someone else's bitching is still petty bitching.

“The only reason we were alive for her to transport us here is because of the people who fought for our survival. Why don't you all give them energy? Why don't you give them water? Why don't you tenderly wipe their blood away? Are they not worth your time? Are they not worth your notice? You're all so enamored with her, crowding her and tripping over yourselves to coddle her like she's a helpless child, pitching a fit when someone has the guts to point out the fact that other people gave everything they had and more. Some of us aren't even conscious. She is. Some of us have severe wounds. She doesn't. Some of us are dead. She's not.

“I don't know who you are, and quite frankly I don't give a damn,” Paris continued. “Thank you for what you did tonight. I wasn't paying any attention to your conversation, so I don't know if anyone's had to chance to say that with the way you're all fawning over her. We needed all the strength we could get down there, and for you to offer your own was very brave and, I'm sure, extremely helpful when everything started to fall apart. You have my respect for that.

“That said, you can take your heaping pile of bullshit and shove it up your a**.”

With that, Paris turned away. She took Chris by the arm and encouraged him to follow her back to Harmonia, offering Alexandria a more genuine smile.

“They need the vials more than we do,” she told him. “I've only got some little cuts on my arms. One of my wings got hacked at, but you won't even be able to tell the next time I power up. All I need is sleep. We should move Harmonia somewhere a little less crowded. There're too many people hanging around here.”
