"Wouldn't know if I was," he shot back, smirking. "You always love pink?"
He felt his restlessness easing slightly with the almost random conversation.

The Last Midnight
Jack's fingertips held the pain Circe had ignited her with a for a moment she tensed, but it passed into warmth. She felt the tiredness in his grasp, the way that even though she was injured, she could still break free from it. He was trying just as hard as she was, and damn she was tired of it.
"I moved to death to fit," she told his shoulder in a whisper, an atheist speaking through a confessional. "But I don't fit." She wasn't just speaking to a division or a friction with Caelius, but a much grander tapestry woven from Merlin's whispers and sewn with their conversation in Delta.
No matter where she went, she didn't fit.

The Last Midnight
He tiredly gazed at the wall ahead, as beyond them hunters moved about, and wondered.
"Would you really want to fit in their mold?" he asked. "Is this place worth losing what makes you so..." His other hand made a vague gesture, as if hoping something would clarify itself in the trail away and provide a gesture to put it to words. But why would it? It was a special something he had yet to decipher completely.
"Do you think I fit?" he asked with a glance.

"No. Was red for a long time." She gestured to her hair. "This changes ... a lot ... so don't expect ... pink ..."
She coughed a little, expectantly awaiting his next "move."

"Yer not wearin' a bomb. Again," she countered. Unless one counted the girlfriend he was wearing, which was a fair adjustment.
She couldn't honestly place whether or not he fit. For all she knew, he was as rebellious as her or perhaps a tame polar opposite. Maybe he was trying to test her.
Regardless, she had a deep, gnawing need to please others even if she chose to do it through antagonistic behaviors. "Halloween, Earth, don't matter in the end do it." She knew she was coming across as terribly melodramatic, but it was the sort of conversation you couldn't avoid when you were whining about feeling like s**t.

With the way she reacted back on that mission he kind of expected a "yes," but only his raised brows were any indication of his surprise. Next question, though not before he had to stifle a yawn.
"Don't think I could ever see you in another color, but that's cool. What's your natural color then?"

He laughed, and openly this time. "********' smart-a**, what the hell," he said with a grin and a shake of his head.
"Fine, movin' on. Earliest memory?"

Bouquet"O-oh..if your s-sure..." Then Jason was glancing at her with a very puzzled expression. "You don't..." He didn't finish it, throwing a friendly smile on his face instead. "I'm Jason Kenneth." Wow did it feel weird to introduce himself to Chel, but then he wasn't too frazzled by the sudden declaration she didn't know who he was; he figured something must of happened to make her lose her memory, and he wasn't going to stress her out by being concerned. He just hoped it would return, in time.

"I know it matters to you." At the very least it fueled several issues, not the least being her conflicts with Deus. "And I know it must be worse right now," Jack went on, stroking her arm. "And I wish there was something more I could do than just....sit here." Always reacting, always a step behind.

Wound"Not!..." Gretchen started, voicerising, but she closed her mouth so swiftly her teeth clicked, cutting off a frustrated noise along with whatever else she might have said. Head shaking, she went for the foot of Chel's cot, for the clipboard attached to it, and picked it up to look at the name at the top. "Chelsea Craft," she read allowed, then turned it to show her. "I'm not gunna mix you up with no one else. You're too. Too important." But something was wrong here.

"Thanks Jason," she said quietly, looking back down at the edge of her sheets. Those were the only words she had for a stranger.
Whether or not it would return, she did hope Jason signed on as her nurse again.

"No," she said in a small voice, repeating herself and pushing further into his side. Maybe a good thing; some of her strength was returning. "Yer doin' enough already. Don't-"
Don't what? Worry about me? Who was "me"?
She let out another noise of frustration. There was no part of this she didn't hate.
(Except maybe him).
