Chiara Moteku xxxxxInvestigating Chiara arrived at the nutrition block. Her head was all abuzz. First from all the things she had already done today, and then from all the things she had still left to complete today. It was really something. This was supposed to be a relaxing party. Food, a little challenge with her friend, some dancing with her subordinate, all the good stuff. It felt like war had just broken out. Although she was worried, and gave every shadow a nervous glance, she walked tall and confident. There was no reason to show her fear. That would only let others in on her personal mindset.
Right, the nutrition block. Chiara spent some time checking the knives in their shiny block. She took one out and let the light glimmer off its wonderfully sharp edge. The flash soothed her, or maybe it was just shiny things in general. Next to looked into the drawers with silverware and such. It sure would be easy for someone to simply poison the correct fork and then, BAM, dead troll. With a sigh Chiara closed the drawer and stepped back. She wanted oh so to find what she wanted to find, maybe in the Dining Block... She went there next.

“Eatin’,” Adamaz replied without looking, and with a mouth full of food. “Didn’t get dinner.”. Adamaz munched on what seemed to be some kind of vegetable. It could use some dressing, but he couldn’t find any that he liked in the fridge, so he decided to go without. He turned and offered the half-eaten veggie to the concerned troll. “Want some?” Adamaz was impressed that he had remembered his manners in this time of confusion, and Papa Roach was even more so.
All of a sudden, who should show up but Chiara. Adamaz froze in place. Great. What did that brat want? It never occurred to him she might be at the party – oops. He didn’t say anything, and miraculously, neither did she. Chiara did not seem to notice him at all, in fact. She was very focused, and a little jumpy, checking the shadows in the room with darting eyes. He watched as she picked up knives (which made him a little nervous – luckily she put them back) and looked at the silverware in the drawers, and then left as intently as she came. Adamaz paused for a moment longer after her sweep, then another moment or two more. Then, he relaxed. At least once this night, disaster was averted. He felt relieved, good even. He munched on his vegetable and turned to the fridge. “Sure you don’t want anythin’” he asked Nahori, without looking. There had to be some ranch in here somewhere...

All the fight drained out of Nahori, leaving her shoulders slumping pitifully. That answer, so simple and unbothered, made her feel absolutely foolish for overreacting. After all, she'd already failed her mission. Whatever consequences awaited her, she wasn't sure, but there had to be a limit to just how much she could continue to keep caring tonight. Was it even worth it to try and shoo this other orangeblood out?
"I-I... I see. I'm sorry, um, f-for freaking out..." Hell, for a second she even considered his offer. She'd had a few appetizers before dinner, but not much else to speak of. This was someone else's hive, though, someone else's food, and couldn't simply be eaten without permission. Even if Guineamom would've approved of Adamaz's choice in snack, she wouldn't condone what she considered stealing.
Before she could answer, though, the door swung wide again. Again?! How interesting was a nutrition block, anyway??
Adamaz wasn't the only one to freeze when Chiara walked in, oh no, though their reasons were likely different. Highbloods always put Nahori on edge, especially those pushing blue and purple. On top of that, she'd just fibbed to Tierte about some nondescript highblood's return and here they were. What an awful, awful coincidence. Except... Well, the blueblood was gone just like that. She hadn't addressed any of them, but Nahori supposed they hadn't addressed her, either.
"No I... think I'm fine, thank you..." she sounded too exhausted to even stutter as she responded to the sudden return of conversation as if nothing had happened. Oh, how she wanted to go home.

Her response had been enough of an opening that Nahori assumed the other troll would take it and end their conversation there. After all, she hardly projected as someone interesting to talk to, or even someone with the capacity to keep up with idle chatter at this point. It didn't mean she wouldn't try when he did surprise her with his continued attention, though. Nahori wasn't the type to be purposefully rude.
"O-Oh, um... Nice to meet you, Adamaz." When she took his hand, her grip was delicate. "I'm Nahori..."
The stutter hadn't quite started to rear its ugly head again completely. She felt surprisingly calm, a mixture of that earlier exhaustion and this troll's strange, but seemingly genuine sudden interest in her. Nahori couldn't help it, she was weak for kind attention.
"I'm... not sure I need much of, um, anything. E-Except maybe to go home, but... we're not allowed to do that yet... I'm just-" Would it be overstepping her social bounds to keep going? She already felt like she was rambling. "-very tired. Of all of this. I'm not very, um.... suited for it. I didn't even want to c-come..."

It had been absolute chaos and a certain redblood had found herself caught up in the everything. Murder, mayhem, investigation... there was just so much of it, too much of it, and Psykgi felt completely overwhelmed. Her lusus was not having any of it – Ma'am immediately swarmed her troll, surrounding Psykgi with a scuttling solid mass of agitated cockroaches. ”Ma...!” Psykgi protested. She couldn't do anything from inside them, certainly not observe the complicated interactions! The party had gotten so interesting and...
NO. Ma'am would not let her troll become involved!
”Ma!”
NO! If they couldn't leave (and why would they leave it was raining outside and that was not good for the swarm), they would at least be safe, protected, IN the swarm.
”Ma...” But there was little Psykgi could do but protest as, between the tides of the crowd and the forceful imposition of her lusus, she was moved about the hive. Finally, she managed to wrest herself free of the swarm. ”Ma, please, let me do this... come on, please?” she wanted to investigate the murder! She wanted to investigate the people and pick apart their minds! She wanted to observe all the wonderful crowd action. ”Please? It will be so-o-o much better if we cooperate instead of sit here, right?” the swarm hummed, and, as it deliberated, Psykgi quickly moved out of their mass and away – she was fairly sure that that would not convince her lusus. Of course, she couldn't actually escape Ma'am – cockroach swarm that she was, she would find Psykgi, and she wouldn't be happy, but why should she miss out on all the fun?
Finding herself near the sideboard, Psykgi decided to take a look through all the coats and costumes lying discarded there – after all, you could learn so much from what someone chose to be... not that she had any idea what Leeroi's neighbeast head signified, but it had to be something deep... or not so deep... in his psyche and she could respect that.
She went through the cloaks and costumes in her usual nosy way, lifting them up, shaking them out, and taking a peek - a quick peek, mind - into their pockets.
At this point she didn't care about the murder - of course not... Psykgi was just Psykgi, and Psykgi... was nosy by nature. First cloaks. Next... trolls...
After a quick look around to make sure she hadn't been found by little scuttling elements of her lusus yet, she quickly made her way out into the main hive. She noted Adamaz talking to another orangeblood as she passed, and smiled. So he was here too? Good that he had someone to talk to.
A shame she'd lost hers.
She headed towards the South outgrowth... her first thought had been the library because books were awesome, but she didn't want books right now – she wanted action, excitement, drama...

Chiara Moteku xxxxxInvestigating Chiara noticed Adamaz making a mess of the kitchen after her focus on the room was finished. Of course a dump troll would turn anywhere he went into a dump. "You got invited to this party?!" The blueblood called, surprise in her voice. She still wasn't sure how to feel about this troll. This first time they met, the orangeblood had psychotically mood-swung, declaring her terrible out of the blue. The next time they met they were partners, and somehow preformed decently. She really didn't want to deal with this kid right now. Maybe later when things calmed down she could "enjoy" his company, but for now it was business. Chiara moved to the dining block. It was still a mess. No wonder Adamaz was in the northern outgrowth, with all the food, junk, and stuff on the floor it was no wonder trolls like Adamaz and flies were swarming. Chiara tip-toed her way around to the victim's chair to give it a good look. She let her fingers explore the nooks and crannies, looking for something.

Aconan strode into the North Outblock confidently, but anyone watching would find her biting her lip hard enough that the flesh changed colour underneath her sharp teeth - she was careful not to break the flesh but even so it was obvious something was stressing her out. All the same she strode over to investigate things, to find some clues....and some answers.
Whether anything was found or not, Aconan gave a telegraphed sigh and hopped over to the chairs, where she sat apparently examining her notebook, thought it was difficult to see as Loupsus had sat in front of her, blocking the view of his troll protectively.
It was a good job nobody was in here, Aconan mused as she carefully started removing the report on Gerard out of her notebook. The report ran in a military style detailing Gerard's movement through the evening - and his subsequent disappearance in this hour, the fit he'd thrown with the Queen, and all the information Aconan had gathered from asking every other guest about him - she was pleased to note she'd gathered quite a lot of info this way, including some juicy tidbits - she had also been careful to note down exactly /who/ had told her what, because that was important too.
Looking around, Aconan slipped the report underneath the cushion, as specified.
After a while looking through her notes, Aconan flopped onto her Lusus, cuddling him close and looking almost like a little clingbeast. Loupsus chuffed and stoof up, Aconan still clinging to his back, and started to pad out of the block, unless disturbed or approached.
