"Well they couldn't, that was one of the stipulations of their trade agreements with the Nixie. The two cartels they were introduced to by the Grimm were sworn to never reveal their existence. There are like...magical oaths involved and everything. Can't break those easy after all. Course if the Nixie are gonna be part of the world, that will probably change...Elders might not want to deal with anyone more than they already do though, just...well because." he shrugged a bit. "I think I remember hearing about that movie from one of my friends, who got bored and went. They said they were like the only one in the theater." he smiled a bit.
Myles' tail wagged with more energy. "That would be awesome! Thank you." he said. He looked down at the child who had slipped a hand into his. "Thanks for taking us." he said as he followed along after, tugging Athena a long and the rest of the group by proxy.

Myles looked down as someone suddenly tugged on his pants. He looked down into the pale blue eyes of Kobe. Alone...without Athena, but who would take care of her? Protect her? Granted he didn't think anyone would actually hurt her, but he still worried. He looked over at her and then sighed a bit. "Uh...Sure, Kobe." his tail wagged slightly but he had to be careful not to knock the child over. "I'll be back very soon." he said to Athena and leaned over and gently kissed her cheek, his heart melting at the feel of her scales against his lips.
He looked over at Melisara. "Can you look after Athena for me for a few minutes?" he asked letting the Nixie girl's hand and shifting the Demon child's hand over to Athena's now free one. "I'll be back soon." he smiled and took Kobe's hand and followed the child to wherever he wanted to lead him.

Foras' tail wagged behind him, he had only received praise from caretakers and teachers before! Due to some of his experiences with the nightmares his age he hadn't gone around showing his drawings off to them. But Batholith seemed safe! He had to admit at first he had judged him by his appearance, the fact that they shared some similar traits had drawn him to the older Nightmare, but at least he really did seem to be a good person.
There was a light blue on his face, but his red skin helped to hide it a bit at least. "Thanks! I wish I could have gotten all the colors in the eyes, but I drew it too small...I like yours though!" He gave the older nightmare a little thumbs up and received his notebook. He pondered the question for a bit. No he hadn't tried drawing himself! It would take a lot of his purple and red coloring pencils to do so though...
"I like to draw things that I see around me! So...no. I haven't drawn myself...." He glanced over at the crowd as some of the members seemed to split off. He wiggled his little pays in front of him. They had done nothing but talk about him! He wanted to know more about Batholith as well! "What do you like to do Batholith?" He posed the question innocently, looking up at his new friend with his own red and purple eyes.

Neptune, as the Grimm boy at her side was called, had a very nice smile. He'd been shaking like a leaf throughout the whole ordeal--it was nice to see that he could smile. She met his smile with a big grin of her own and a gentle squeeze. "Ah'm pleased as punch t' meetcha, Neptune." Her face flushed at the compliment. She wasn't really sure if people wanted her to be here--she was hardly a Grimm, after all. "Would y'lahk me to stand on yer other, sahd, Neptune, or should Ah just stay where Ah am? Ah don' wanna give yah a crick in the neck just trahin' t'talk t' me. Ah don't think we'd be a bother to 'em if we tagged along for somethin' t' eat. An' if they do complain--" She leaned in close. "--then we'll just shrug an' tell 'em t'not be so rude." She giggled at the thought. It wouldn't be nice to say that, but she was confident by now that Myles and Athena wouldn't tell them they couldn't eat with them.
She nodded at Zahneel's suggestion. "Sounds good! Maybe grab some drah towels as well, for Mahles?"
She turned to the Grimm in question and snorted. "It wasn' a terribly good movie, Ah can tell yah that. First one was schlocky fun, but the second one was just schlock." But the other thing Myles had said excited her more. "It'd be wonderful if the Nixie wanted t' stay with us! Ah mean in contact with us, o'course, but still, it'd be just grand! Think of all we could learn from each other! Ah mean, granted, it's more us learnin' from the Nixie, considerin' all y'all are already experts on us." She winked at Athena, and she was still looking at Athena when she heard the next thing Myles said.
She blinked in astonishment. Her? Escort the younger representative of an entire race? It was an enormous honor, and her eyes went wide with shock. "O' course," she murmured. "Um, Kobe, could y'show Mahles to the cafeteria when yer done, sweetie?" She looked nervously at Neptune and gave a worried smile. "See, guess we're invahted, lahk Ah said..."
Bath's eyes darted away from the kid instinctively, but he forced himself to look bat at Foras. "It's okay that you didn't get all the detail in," he said. "I don't mind. Seriously." He didn't want to talk about it, he didn't want to think about it, he didn't want to hear one more blessed time how "pretty" or "interesting" or "cool" his eyes were. Just, stop it, world. Stop it. It wasn't original the first time. His face was still calm even as the back of his mind raged against his irises.
No. Think about him, not about yourself. "You could draw yourself in front of a mirror. Or just...draw what you think you look like. It's called a 'self-portrait,' and I think it's more important in self-portraits to portray who you are rather than what you look like." Or something like that. Some pretentiousness he'd heard somewhere, probably in a comedy that was lampooning artists. But for the first time, he kind of believed it. "Um...I like to collect rocks," he said. It was true. Well, mostly true, anyway--he actually had never collected rocks. But he'd heard all about rock collections, and seen pictures of them--they were always in big glass cases, with beautiful crystals, all neatly labeled and arranged in a pleasing order. He'd never seen rocks pretty enough to pick up and collect--no proper minerals. But it was something he had fantasized about doing. "And I like to read, too. I like to read about rocks and the earth and stuff. What about you, Foras?"

Melisara sure was nice... he wondered briefly why, but then he supposed that the teachers had talked about Baphomets being a nice people anyway. Maybe that's why...He didn't really understand her saying though... pleased and punch? Punch could be pleased? Or did she mean like the action of punching something? Oh, he hoped she didn't... he'd have to avoid her if she did. He blinked, she'd noticed he was having difficulty with the right eye... that was nice, he didn't like having to point it out. People often asked why he was like that.
"O-oh, um, i-it's okay... Since I kn-know you're there it's fine... b- but uh... if you want to move... that's okay too..." He nodded a little. Melisara seemed trustworthy enough to stay on his right side if she wanted to... Though he couldn't figure out why he trusted her to not do anything. His main caretaker had to work with him for weeks before he'd gotten comfortable with it. Her idea of telling them they were rude if they complained about them tagging along caused him to widen his eyes a little in surprise. Talk back? Oh no... no no, he couldn't do that... thankfully her attention shifted to the others.
He tried to follow along with the conversation, but it seemed to be jumping in so many different directions... eventually he caught on that Melisara was supposed to watch after Athena while Myles and the small grimm Kobe talked. Oh boy... He did not want Athena on his right side. She seemed nice enough but he didn't know anything about her at all... "U-um... I can m-move... to the left... s-so you're in the middle...?" He looked back to Melisara, hoping she liked his suggestion... he'd hate to have to make up an excuse to leave suddenly.

Huh. Foras hadn't really been taught what a self-portrait meant! He gave himself a moment to ponder what he would draw to represent himself. He might make a large tree, with some purples leaves! He could always draw himself, but he didn't particularly take comfort in his appearance, so he didn't want to represent himself in that way. His tail twitched behind him as he seemed puzzled by the idea. Batholith could probably see the look on concentration, confusion, and just a hint of sadness on his face.
"I could try!" Was all he said in regards to the matter after that. Maybe he could draw himself with someone else! That would be okay! Maybe one his his teachers, he loved all of his teachers!
"Rocks?" Foras had never heard of someone collecting rocks before! What did you do with a rock collection? He liked to collect crayons, paints, and coloring pencils! But all of those things he could use to draw, you couldn't use rocks for...anything really. However, if Batholith enjoyed collecting rocks than he wouldn't judge him for that!
"I have seen some pretty rocks in books! But I don't read a whole-whole lot. Mostly for class stuff. I've recently tried painting, but that's harder than just drawing....And I like to run! I've...been trying...to talk more!" His first couple attempts at talking to nightmares his own age hadn't been going so well though. The caretakers and teachers were nice to him, but they had to be! They were adults!

Melisara thought about it for a moment--she would be guiding Athena there, and she didn't want to leave Neptune behind. Poor fellow just seemed so upset. She wanted to keep her arm around him, as if she could protect him from...well, whatever it was that was making him so afraid. The people there? Some folks just weren't as social as Sara, she knew that, so they didn't like being in too close of contact with people for a very long time. She knew that, even if she didn't understand that. Maybe that was Neptune's problem, all of these people were making him nervous. Or maybe it was just taking him a long time to calm down from all of the stress of the day. Finally she shook her head. "Next tahm, Ah'll approach yah on the left sahd, so Ah don't startle yah. But Ah'll stand on yer raght sahd for today. Athena can stand on mah rahght. If that's okay with you, Neptune?"
She looked up and gestured to Athena to join her on her right side, opposite from Neptune so that she herself stood in the middle. At least, she was pretty sure that's what the silver Grimm had been asking?
He blinked, thinking. If she were on the right, and Athen was on her right, he wouldn't be able to see Athena very well at all... "Um..." He watched her position herself, then just decided it was probably best to go along with what she wanted this time.... He hadn't explained it very well. "I--I think that's okay.... um... for now.. I'll just um... turn my head, so I can see..." He nodded a bit, then fell into place, eyeing the two of them. "S-so, if we're ready to go..."

"Different power structure or not, someone should have thought their plan through," Ares snorted. From the way Myles had been talking, they had planned on everyone just agreeing to their demand and leaving with them immediately. "Even if all the Grimms here had agreed, could they handle the amount of new grimm that would have gone back with them?" the Imp gestured to the fluctuating crowd around them. The steady rhythm of the ball hitting his knee helped to keep him calm.
The mention of food captured his interest and Ares mulled the idea of going along with them. He nodded briefly to show he'd heard his idea. "Maybe. There's only so much they can do with the amount of orphans there are and the reconstruction going on from the war," he replied. He wasn't sure exactly how much more the leaders could do for the orphans. They had teachers who cared and had caretakers for when they were younger. It wasn't so bad. . .
Pepper stopped as a pale Grimm freshling came over and tugged on Myles. She looked back and forth between them, tightening her grip on the Nixie's hand once she was holding it. Once everyone else had settled again, she lead them towards the cafeteria once more. "Athena. . .OH! I'm Pepper," she introduced herself with a blush. "And this is Auren," she nodded towards the freshling holding her other hand. "I'm sorry we didn't say so before!"
Noticing Zahneel going to get some towels, Pepper didn't ask anyone else if they knew where to get some. Every now and again she peeked at the Nixie from the corner of her eye, believing herself to be quite stealthy. Gathering up her courage, she asked a couple questions that had been on her mind. "So if you live in cities underwater, can you breath under there? Are there lots of other Nixie? How come nobody knew about you before this?" The words came out in a bit of a rush, her hand squeezing the older girls for a moment before loosening.

Ares did have a good point, and Arden nodded along at the Imp. He could only sigh though, finally letting his arms fall to his sides. "Even if their plan seems short sighted, it's probably going to be up to all the adults anyways," the Chimera concluded, figuring the Headmistress would continue to have the loudest voice in the end. She cared just as much for their well being as their biological parents should. "I hope they realize it's hard to feel at home among strangers," he mumbled mostly to himself, fist curling the slightest.
He flicked his gaze to look at the Nixie, her companion having left. It seems they were working towards letting Myles and Athena settle in instead of constantly badgering them. However, a tiny voice caught his attention and he too forget they were working on laying off of the pair. "Yes, do you guys occupy the water?" Arden echoed the small demon, suddenly breaking away from his conversation with Ares, but he wanted to know just as much about the new Nixies as he wanted to protect the orphans living in the Academy. All the races had their own spaces, and the Chimera living in the mountains rarely saw others simply because wings made it accessible. Obviously an underwater city sounded cool, but it also made perfect sense as to why no one had seen them before today.
Athena felt a little overwhelmed when Myles left, unsure of who to talk to and stood there awkwardly as so many questions came her way. "Uhm..." She wasn't sure what to say, kicking at the ground a little. "W-We do live in the water. For the most part at least...We can breathe underwater to a point...we still need to breathe like you guys though. Our cities aren't flooded." She tried her best to explain, but was turning a little red, feeling a bit lost and alone... " She wasn't even sure how to answer some of the questions but tried... "There's a lot of cities! Some of them float like bubbles...But the Imps know about us at least?" She shrugged. She thought? Maybe?

The frown on the little kid's face was almost unbearable. Why was he unhappy? What did he have to be unhappy about? Besides the whole, y'know, hybrid thing. But people here seemed pretty happy, there didn't seem to be much crime or much pain. It was like a frigging utopia here, reserved just for orphans and rich kids. There....was probably a metaphor in there somewhere--one that Batholith wasn't really interested in pursuing. "If you don't mind other people seeing your art, I'd look forward to seeing your self-portrait," he added. He didn't want to make someone uncomfortable. Artists treated their sketches like they were an intimate part of themselves. Like hell was he going to intrude on that.
Batholith smiled--a rare occasion. Not because Bath didn't smile much, but because this smile was a genuine one--a mixture of sadness, bashfulness, and a sort of private joy kept deep inside where no one could see and no one could touch. A rare little crack that revealed the geode inside. Or something like that. "Yeah," he said softly. "Rocks. They're...kinda cool. Like how they form and how they look. And how they come in all different types. They're all rocks, but they're all unique. They're...nice to look at, I guess. That doesn't make any sense at all, does it?" he asked ruefully. He sighed. He didn't understand himself at all--how could Foras? And why should he, anyway?
"I like reading in general, in my spare time. There are lots of complicated books out here, though. Lots of new things to read. Running, huh? That sounds pretty fun," he said. He didn't find running fun, but hey, at least it was useful. "You seem pretty chatty to me, Foras."
Sara frowned. Right...he'd still be twisting his head to see Athena...well, that didn't work at all. She hadn't thought to factor in the fact that Neptune, like most normal Nightmares, actually wanted to look at whoever they were talking to..."Or," she said, "we could, um, rearrange it so that yer on mah rahght and Athena's on mah left." She bit her lip. Athena was distracted talking to other people, would she notice a position change? Or mind it? Would Sara come across as if she were fussing? Over two people she hadn't met until half an hour ago now, she realized. Was that...inappropriate?
No, she decided firmly, that's just what Ah've gotta do. She took Neptune's hand and led him around Athena so that the positions were reversed. Now Athena, on the other side of Sara, was on Neptune's right. That should be right. She beamed with satisfaction at the pale Grimm, then turned towards Athena and offered her a hand. "Underwater cities sound grand," she said. "Do yah farm anythin' underwater, or do yah haveta farm on the surface? What do y'all eat?" She made motions to lead the diplomat through the crowd and towards the cafeteria.
