Vlad looked at Alvin for a moment and laughed. "I don't hate you I cant. My heart wont allow it Alvin, I wasn't upset with you at all I was worried. I don't like being away from you for even a minute but I am aware that you do need your space. After all your still living and Im not, you have a future and if you wish to go and explore the world before finding someone you want to be with, I cant exactly stop you."

He looked at Alvin for a moment before he looked away. "I am planning to speak with your father soon to let him know that I am serious about you Alvin." He said softly giving the teen a kiss before he moved off of his young love before sitting on the edge of the bed. "Your lucky I have you sleeping here and not in my room. As it stands I wont be getting any sleep. Im sure a few vampires saw you enter tonight and I wont allow any to come after you."

"Vampires would consider it against our nature to fall in love with a human. Even if we were to change one. Its... not always accepted. Though I am put to a different standard because I am vampire king and as such I should find a suitable partner. The fact that I have been spending so much time with you, others will be jealous and will attempt to either harm you or force my hand if they take you. Any vampire that tries wouldn't survive of course." He said after a moment before he let out a small sigh.

"Your classmates are fine. As far as the other vampires go, the rest of your class is just visiting a castle. Your the only one aware of what I am and that could also make you a target. You are safer in my rooms yes, but I thought it wasn't wise to have you put in them unless you wished to stay in them, and your teachers might frown upon it."

"Alright. You can sleep in my room, worse case scenario, we just say that you ended up sleep walking or something into my room. Since I didn't wish to wake you, I let you sleep and just slept on the couch." He said before picking up his lover and giving him a quick kiss.

Once they were in his chambers he set the other down and let Alvin explore if he wished. "Well here we are. The chambers of a prince. Your the only one that has been in this part of the castle before. Or at least no one has been in my private bedroom but you. I hope this is to your liking Alvin."

Vlad watched in amusement as his young lover looked at the two rooms and the bed. "I can protect you just as easily here. I am able to sense other vampires because I was the first and each has my bloodline in them. Think of it like a web. No matter how big or far reaching it is a spider is always able to sense where their meal is. It's the same concept with vampires only instead of a meal it's their minds I'm able to track."

He chuckled at the question. "Yes we sleep and can get tired. Usually it's when we are first turned that we sleep copying our human lives as best we can, only instead of sleeping at night they sleep during the day. This is so we don't get burned by the sunlight. Vampires also sleep if they have been harmed during a fight. Blood and resting recover our strength like it would for you if you had been hurt. We just heal a bit faster. The final reason some of us sleep is when we become bored with life. Vampires can sleep for years sometimes centuries before something sparks their interest. Usually they are very weak afterwards though."

He sat on the edge of the bed and smiled to Alvin. "Alvin, are you alright with me speaking to your father? I will only speak with him if you are truly alright with it. I knew that I wanted to be with you when I saw you that first day, but I don't want to force a decision on you. I care about you too much, you should be able to experience life for awhile before coming to live with me.

Vlad looked to Alvin for a moment. "I can't sleep that long, at least not unless I had another watching over my body while I did so. You see we are vulnerable at that time and it's very easy to kill a vampire that way. But I would remain here and in the lower levels of the castle as that is where my family rests. The rest of the castle would still be shown for tours and the like."

Hearing about Derrick and that Alvin didn't want him to give up he smiled. "I won't give up. I haven't been around for as long as I have by giving up my love. I don't intend to start that now." He got up and moved to a dresser pulling out a small box. Inside the box was a ring, he was going to give to Alvin to show that he wouldn't give up on the other. This wasn't exactly a wedding ring and he wasn't proposing just then, but it was a promise to the younger man that Vlad wasn't going to stop until they could be together. Walking over he handed the box to the teen. "You don't have to wear this or accept it, it's just something we did when I was alive, a promise that no matter what happens I'll be with you. I won't give up."

((Interesting. It's possible they way they preserved the body when she died also plays a factor in why she isn't rotting and smells sweet. Think about the mummies in Egypt. Granted they are withered and such but that may be due to climate drying them out and whatnot not to mention how old they are and that the organs were all removed leaving them basically hollow.))

Vlad smiled happy that Avlin liked the gift of the ring and returned the hug. "Im glad you think so. I know its not very fancy, but I figured that would come later." He said with a smile before giving Alvin a kiss on his forehead. "Sleep well my love. I will keep watch." He said softly getting up once again and looking out the window at the view below. He could see the entire town from here and the water beyond. It sparkled in the moonlight and he smiled at the view. This was one of his favorite times of day, well night.

Every now and then he would look back at Alvin to make sure that he was alright. So far everything seemed calm and no one was going to come to the castle. If everything went well, it was going to be a quiet night.

"No trouble, it was a calm night which is good. How did you sleep?" He asked softly wondering if Alvin had been comfortable sleeping in his bed. "We should get you back to your room when your ready." He wanted to shower and change as well, though that could wait until Alvin was back in his own room since he didn't want to make the other uncomfortable. Vlad noticed the buttons that were undone but didn't make a comment and averted his eyes. He figured if Alvin wanted him to see anything he would later and he could wait for the other to be comfortable with him.
