Going on to learn Japanese because Russian was 'too hard' is like taking up Heavy Weight Boxing after not being able to handle regular Boxing.
Unless your native language is similar to that of the same region, you'll have a hell of a time with all that grammar and completely backwards systems.
However, if you are extremely serious beyond the point of learning a few phrases you recognise from your anime shows I'd recommend giving this a read:
