Horace watched carefully as people were picked, wondering if there was some sort of pattern to it. He might pick someone to bother later, but he needed to do more research on everyone first. He'd talked to Gale, tried to talk to Lucky, and hadn't been surprised to hear their or Rep's names. Some of the others were unknowns. For now, he was content to just wait and watch until he was chased out of the meeting room.

As Solia threw a wad of paper at Wilson's head, he flinched and briefly flailed out of sleep and looked around. I totally wasn't asleep, guys. But perhaps sleeping standing up had been useful in the end.

...Kind of.

"Uh, yes?" He struggled to act normally as he looked around. Pick two, Caelius said?

Hearing a very unfamiliar (familiar?) word, Wilson almost started sweating as he looked down at Solia.

"H..i...?" He slowly bent down to put a hand on the other hunter's shoulder. That...was one....?????

OOC
If anyone wants to tag along with Wilson just ping me o / Wilson would first like to know how he got on this list in the first place though smh

Al got the usual nod for his obedience, which at this point was entirely expected. It didn't seem to matter to Rep that Al had been in Death longer than he personally had, he'd been handed a job and intended to do it to the best of his ability regardless of any actual ******** qualifications he possessed. At the very least he knew what the grail's side effects generally were and had run into a lot of ******** weird s**t. He was hopeful that maybe someone more actually competent than him could take all the info he'd stumbled into in the last few months and compile it into something that made sense, something that reassured him he wasn't just dreaming, going crazy or both.

He checked his phone in between mentally organising himself and sent Creedence back a text saying that was no problem at all and to head over. All he knew about the girl so far was that she was a LARPer and also a very ******** capable infected, and that was good enough for him. His usual doubt about the capabilities of women didn't factor in here, this was Death, it didn't matter if she could fight, it only mattered if she could follow orders while still interpreting those orders, and most proper women were ******** hard wired to subvert and interpret.

When everyone was gathered, he shook Rodney's hand (hard enough to assert dominance) and nodded.

like this one William.> Tracey crooned.

"Aye." Rep said, completely ignoring the fallen angel's request.

"Well. I guess like, if you are working with me, we are going to be like, doing whatever the ******** we can to track down and neutralise the grail legacy. I don't know where it is right now, but wether its in the hands of Samantha and Opus Labs or in our own hands here at Deus I don't ******** trust it one tiny ******** bit. It can wipe out huge numbers of people in a very critically short amount of time as all of you no doubt ******** know. I had to deal with your ******** claws in my ******** face." Creedence was pointed at. "And it wasn't pleasant. We want to stop this s**t happening again."

He smirked toothily. "Whatever it ******** takes to do so. No getting hung up on the lives of individuals when this s**t could eradicate everything. Anyway, our first task would be to like, put an ear to the ground, find out what you can overhear across the facility. My personal ******** reputation preceeds me as you know, most cunts won't give me the time of day or shut up whenever I get nearby, I want you guys to eavesdrop and find out whatever, just as you go about your daily business. I want to know what Life division has on this s**t, I want to know what Moon knows about it. If they won't openly share, we'll make them share. Apart from that, I want you to go through whatever mission reports we now have access too, familiarise yourself with the s**t it says about the legacies in general, I'll write up what I know as best I can. I have a few hunches about what is able to neutralise the infection at this point and I'll share that with you guys. We are part of a team at this point, if you decide to ******** linger here."

He raised a brow. "And if you are so inclined, I do a lot of off-island infection control runs, if you are inclined to see s**t first hand and what a ******** mess it is, I can bring you along. I just warn you. I'm immune, you may not ******** be."

Jake wondered why he even had to pick trainees. Surely Caelius knew of his track record with all this, and that he was an absolutely shitty leader. And yet, here he was...

Perhaps no one would even bother, and he could just leave. After all, the ones he knew the most were already leaders, and the ones he did sorta know...
He wasn't sure how he felt having to mentor Solia (it'd probably end up being the other way around) and while he only knew Lukas from a past mission, it seemed he was already being mentored by Gale, which was an infinitely better choice.

WELP, he did his job. No one was interested, so he could just-
Jake turned when someone spoke to him, surprised that they were actually interested.
"I, u-um..."
He rubbed the back of his neck, clearly flustered.
"O-of course. Thanks for volunteering."
It was true he had no desire to train anyone, but if they were to ask, who was he to turn them down? Hopefully he wouldn't... accidentally almost get them killed. Dear lord please don't repeat the same mistake with Stormy.

"Is there anyone you want working with you? I think I can take on one more..."
Caelius said a minimum of two, right? There wasn't a limit to having more, and a quick glance around the room hinted that there were still more trainees left, but was it wise to take on more? Could he even handle taking on more?

Al lit up at the nod, going from anxious and uncertain to downright glowing. Yes, yes, he'd done well. All is well. He listened to the instructions, snoop for clues and get whatever life has; done and double done. He would have to pull a few strings with his own personal source. He was up for a promotion, surely he may get more clearance soon with it and even if not; generally more eyes and ears are a good thing by default.

The holy grail though. Wasn't that just a myth from boo-oh. Right. He sighed at the point he'd completely missed but should have learned from being a ******** Arthurian knight.

He looked extremely agreeable about the whole thing, excitement suppressed for the sake of appearance but still very much there. "We start now?"

Competent. Gretchen pursed her lips, though said nothing. There were a great many things that she was, ineed, competent at, but there were some she was not. Combat was not her strong suit, had never been, probably never would be. The girl didn't like violence, and it showed.

But if they were talking paperwork, computers, organization? That she was good at.

Hands resting lightly on her hips, she glanced once at Lukas before giving Gale a short shake of her head. No questions needed.

There was a beat, in which Lukas could have made a confession -- that, truthfully, his mind had been wandering and he wasn't quite sure what he'd been volunteered here for. Maybe he should have, gotten a good explanation of what was expected of him.

Instead, he rubbed at the rough line of his jaw and shrugged in a crooked sort of way. Good enough, at least. "Let's get it done, then."
