The messenger bowed, though there was no formal reason for him to do so, and Haruto nodded as he moved towards the back to meet with his family. Most of the auditorium was filled with makeshift camps and beds for those who were gravitating towards the peace and security of Harutopia. From where he was sitting, the leader of the survivor faction couldn't help but wonder how much longer they were going to be able to keep this Capitol together before the need to expand even further came about. He had Chagall Cafe...but he hadn't been able to name a Governor yet. Only the garrison remained, and they were a temporary measure, not enough to hold up against a real invasion. They needed to be thinking three moves ahead right now...but in this chaos, it was hard to imagine even a few minutes into the future.

It will save space, time, and allow what we have to be preserved longer," one ambitious supplicant proposed to the leader of this Harutopia, and even Haruto had to admit that the length to which this admirable teen had gone in his idea to make their supplies last longer both in distribution and spoiling. Nodding his approval, he motioned to one of the older women to go to the kid's side. No need for a big debate on this one.
"Make it so," he smirked, wondering if anybody would get that reference as well. Star Wars and the Trek in the same day...some nerds might call that blasphemy. Haruto? He was just having fun. ...Having fun and surviving and saving lives and...being King of a territory in Japan in the year 2012? It'll be good for the girls, the kingdom, and you!" another supplicant suggested, clearly not taking this whole kingdom of peace idea seriously. And yet by the look on his face, Haruto wasn't sure whether the man was serious or not...and that was a rather disturbing thought. Whispering to Power at his side, the demon said something back that made him raise an eyebrow. Well then, he couldn't let this idea spread or else it might get into the Provinces and really make a mess of things. "Sire? Do I get a reward for my idea, or...?"
"How about nooooo~" Haruto couldn't believe he had to answer that question and instantly moved to have the guards escort the man away. Serious or not, he couldn't let that line of thinking take hold or the whole thing was going to go to heck! "Latrine duty in Troitown, two hours. First Queen of the land of..." his crier's introduction was running long, meaning that his appointed gatekeeper was starting to take his job entirely too seriously. More concerning was that there was somebody out front who was calling herself a Queen? Of another oddly-named land within the boundaries of Okina? Why, if he acknowledged such a thing he could create dozens of spin-offs simply by accidental encouragement. No, better to n** this little trend in the bud and make sure Harutopia was the only usurper Kingdom in the city. Besides, what kind of a name was 'the Kingdom of Marzipan', anyway? Harutopia was way better...
"Tell the lady we recognize no Kingdom of Marzipan; we will only accept her as an envoy once she has rid herself of this ludicrous notion of..." he was interrupted by the crier holding up a hand, "Yes?"

...Moments later a man who we'll just say looked every bit as cool as his name, picture it yourself, entered and proposed a strange maneuver for the Kingdom's growth...expanding into the karaoke den near the Wild Duck Burger. It would likely become a subsidiary of Troitown or a Province all its own, as it was a large building with plenty of drinks and individual rooms for families. He didn't even need to consider the proposal.

It's better to live with their whispers than with nothing at all..."It was likely that the parlor was overrun with demons, so it was good to be prepared...the fighters in the group gathered their weapons, fused some demons, and generally prepared for the fight that was to come. Meanwhile Haruto fished through some of the vests from the theater to see if any were thick enough to act as a body armor. Alas, he'd have to use what he had. It would be a tough fight, but if they could claim the den they would have even more solid territory. They needed more, for the growing numbers...and for the drinks, for the songs, for the spirit! I'm here 'cause Clicky...that is, Ronaldo Kuriki...sent me to see what you guys were up to over here. And uh, looks like you've got a thing going on, don't you? That's cool," a laid-back man with a striped hat whistled in amusement as he watched the group getting ready to ride out to battle, a little intimidated...but mostly amused...by what he was seeing, "Anyway, Clicky wanted me to tell you some kind of a message...something about turf or...protecting something? I can't remember. Maybe you should ask him yourself when you see him next time?"
Haruto merely listened to the man who stood by their gate as his men lined up behind him, ready to move out. He knew the name Ronaldo as the other faction apart from JPs trying to resist this Septentrione invasion, but didn't know why he'd be interested in Harutopia unless he was expecting some kind of a fight. Were Ronaldo and Yamato gearing up for some kind of a war? Why? Wasn't the entire point right now to survive? He thought as much, but said little...it seemed the flaky-one wasn't done talking yet, anyway.
"Oh yeah, that's it! Clicky wants to meet. Next time you're free...talk about what's going on in the world, the city, or something. Anyway, my job is done...buh-bye~!"

It's better to live with their whispers than with nothing at all..."He was almost ready to move out and reclaim the Karaoke Parlor, when the striped-hatted man stuck his head back in one last time to add something that he had forgotten. The groans throughout the theater were enough to tell anyone nearby just what they thought about the continuous interruptions to their dramatic war plans (and exit). Haruto raised his hand to shush them, however, and motioned the man in. "Something you forgot to add, Joe? I'm already making plans to meet Ronaldo, so you don't need to worry about that," the King spoke up with a raised eyebrow, curious as to where this was going. ...And in the end, he really shouldn't have.
"Sorry, turns out...I...am not sure where I am going," he laughed in a self-depreciating fasion, before glancing around the room, "So, uh...can anybody point me in the direction of the Terminal, again?" Another collective groan...Haruto couldn't help laughing out loud. What a guy, this Joe...!

It's better to live with their whispers than with nothing at all..."Finally free to cross the town, Haruto and his soldiers fought a brave path through the infested area of the station towards Troitown...but took a left past the back side of Ellie's capital in order to reach the Parlor of Poor Singing that resided not so far in that direction. Several small patches of demons attacked them, but they were little match for the forces of Harutopia when united and in good spirits. And as it turned out, Mandingo Pendragon's power truly lived up to his name! Outside of Haruto, he was clearly the most skilled summoner of the group, and far and away the best hand-to-hand fighter shy of the King as well. Once a Gozuki and Mezuki had attacked simultaneously and it hadn't even made the old, boot-leather tough man sweat. He'd merely drawn a knife... "THIS is a Knife..." ...and spilled the innards of the foolish devils in a matter of seconds.
Even Haruto was impressed with that.
...And soon enough they stood before the door of their destination with bloody weapons, spirits high as the sky above, and a will to enact their manifest destiny upon this overrun parlor.
"For honor! For glory! FOR HARUTOPIA!"

Mandingo asked ask he chewed the thin end of a stalk of wheat, and the 'King' couldn't help but agree. Several demons had attempted to ambush the team as they made their way through the halls of the parlor, but between he and the Mandingo, it had been a rather bloody and one-sided affair. The Harutopians in back had barely even needed to wield their weapons, only cleaning up the strays who were too afraid to jump right out and attack their prey from the booths within...and the ones who did met the business end of a knife or Haruto's devils faster than they could say, 'Shrimp on the Barbie'. And when they at last reached the end and cleared the building, the entire expedition gathered in the lobby of the parlor where Haruto and Mandingo stood behind the front desk proudly looking out across their unscathed team. For once, a job had gone off without a hitch...it was nice.
"The Parlor...has been reclaimed..." "I owe you all my life and livelihood, no doubt about that! By the blood of my kangaroo, Jax, I swea-ah I'll be a loyal Harutopian until the day I die, or my name ain't Mandingo Pendragon!" "...Seriously, what an awesome name."

Mino could feel power coming back into his body as someone snapped him out of the haze of defeat, and thrust a finger in the air cheerfully as he let out a hearty laugh that said, 'I shall not be moved'! ...it was about then that he realized he was literally ascending though, stuck on an escalator. Mino's eyes were opened as he heard the dickish, not-very-good-at-swaying-him crowd members cast threats as they tried to cast him out of Okina. A face came to mind...of one guy who'd said something similar. That he wanted peace across the land. But being saved by an imbecile like that, the embarrassment...it was too much. Though he wanted to return the favor to Haruto in the most thankless of ways, he didn't have a plan, nor support. It was becoming clear to Mino that what he needed for revenge was succinctly out of his grasp. People to follow him, something to offer as a reward, and power...all of these had to be obtained first, before he could consider his violent but definitive return.
