"Only kind of," Chance repeated with a grin.
Music fluttered out from the TV, echoing pleasantly around the room. "Nope," said Chance lightly. "Not even once. I sometimes got advertisements for it though, when I lived alone, but most of my furniture were hand me downs from the bookstore owner I worked for."
Chance gave another hum. "I think it'd be pretty cool to have more stuff in my room, I'm just not generally good at picking s**t out myself. Hence the general lack of decorations."

"Well we're putting a stop to that cuz it's ********' depressing." Otto scolded. "Seriously dude." Otto pointed at the screen, "See? ********' Rapunzel had a better room than you! And she was stuck in a ********' tower."

Rapunzel indeed had a very nice room. Chance rolled his eyes skyward and then gave a little snort before moving his gaze back to the movie - which admittedly was pretty good.
"Are you telling me I need to paint sunflowers on my walls?" he asked in a deadpan.

"Yes." Otto responded bluntly. "It sure beats staring at stark white."

Chance almost elbowed Otto in the ribs. Almost. But he refrained.
"Fine," he said, tapping his head lightly against Otto's shoulder, beneath Otto's own head. "I'll paint something, though it's been a while since I picked up a brush. Maybe I'll do a giant night scape of stars because really, who are we kidding, I love stars."
He thought about this for a moment, and then added, "Turn it into my own safe haven after all."

"That's the idea, ain't it?" Otto's apartment was his safe haven. A reflection of his personality. A place to relax, sleep, bathe, eat, And just be himself. "Make it your own."

As much as he enjoyed being with other people, there were also times when Chance just wanted alone time - and having a space to do that in seemed pretty nice when he thought about it more. He just hadn't ever considered it, and now that he was...
"You're full of good ideas, Otto Graves," Chance declared, as onscreen Rapunzel was prancing around after Flynn.

Otto squirmed. "I unno.. it's whatever.. personal experience n' all..." He grumbled under his breath. "Why you keep sayin' my last name? Make me feel like you're my mom yellin upstairs to do some ********' dishes. I don't even remember your last name." Because Otto is a twit. He pays such close attention.

He laughed good-naturedly.
"Sorry," said Chance, turning his face a little, fingers skimming over the pillow in his arms. "Force of habit, really. I used to do that when I was a kid, because I couldn't keep track of all of my mother's ex-boyfriends, so I just started calling everyone by their first and last names."
He reached up a hand and clumsily brushed his fingers over Otto's hair before dropping them back down to his lap. "I am, in fact, not your mother, and I could care less whether your dishes are done, so I'll stop."
There was a little smile on his face as he added, "And it's Bones, just for the record, not that you really need to know."

Otto went quiet a moment. " Graves and Bones."

Chance, who'd been playing with his rings still, stopped dead. Then -
"Holy s**t."
He gave a shout of laughter and pressed the pillow against his mouth to muffle the sound, Chance burying his face into it. "Holy ********," he breathed out. "I didn't even - the sheer irony of that is beautiful."
Chance leaned back against Otto, sighing. "Either that, or I'm just way too easily amused right now."

"It's both." Otto mused. He hadn't laughed like Chance had, but it was considerably more difficult to get Otto laughing than most others. "Ironic, and you're easily amused."

He grinned. "To be fair, I haven't slept like at all in the past twenty-four hours, so I may or may not be a little loopy. But while it's not easy to offend or upset me - or really, even get me angry - being amused is something that comes strangely easily to me."
Chance shook his head ruefully, exhaling a breath. "Just another one of those weird traits about me."

"It just means if I need to distract you, all I gotta do is dangle some tinsel in your face." Otto replied without missing a beat, his eyes focused on the screen. "Also, you need to sleep, man."

"I'm not a cat," said Chance indignantly, though this was only half true, because for a six foot three man, he possessed some strangely catlike attributes. "Okay, maybe I get a little easily distracted by shiny things, but that's beside the point."
His attention was back on the movie.
"I'll sleep," said Chance delicately. "After."Maybe.
