"Really? Huh." That was the first time he'd ever heard Chel put off sex—granted there was no way he would get out of the tub at this point anyway. It was surprisingly cozy, if...cramped. He had to keep his legs mostly bent to avoid splaying them over the edge of the tub.
Lazily he reached for the blur of color he knew to be the bottle. "I did," he replied. "Think I've pinpointed some places they'll most likely hit next, if they're still here." But it felt weird discussing work still while she was lying against him naked in the bath; or maybe that was the wine kicking in.
He passed the bottle over to her and rested his head against the back of the tub. "Anything interesting in the hotel?"

"I think yer best quality is Owain and your worst is Barbara," she said with a snicker, noting his withdrawn behavior and moving him to something friendlier. Tiny steps, always.
"Your turn."

"A bunch of rich people who ain't aware of s**t," she told him, feeling very much like a chaotic robin hood as she tipped back the bottle. It was a nice way to end the day, especially when she could feel how exhausted she was.
She offered him the bottle, even if he'd already taken a chunk of it. "You know, with all the s**t I done," which she had surely regaled Jack with at some point, "I ain't ever taken a bath with no one. You're my first Jackles."

"I think you've got those reversed," he scoffed. "Barbara has always been the best. You don't name a guitar for being anything less. Now, your best and worst qualities?"

He sniggered and drank to job. Probably would be ungrateful civilians to boot. "First, huh? Mine too." Another toast. He carefully set the bottle back down and closed his eyes.
"Weird just relaxing like this," Jack admitted. Unlike at the park, however, he had alcohol soothing the rough edges over. "Not bad, just weird. Maybe I should get a tub for the house...A bigger tub."

"You keep insultin' Owain and we're gonna have to fight, son." She loved Owain dearly and knew the weapon was listening. Jack had to stop saying mean things.
She groaned as he once again threw her question back at her. She could have made a joke about her sex prowess or her video game skills, but Jack had been honest (as far as she knew) and she figured her deserves the same. "Best trait ... Uhhh ... I like talkin' to people and stuff." Meaning Halloween but Deus is listening, as signaled by the jiggle of her wrist. "Worst quality's everything else." She laughed and said, "I dunno, my insane ability to ******** everything up?"

"I'd like that," she murmured into the neck of the bottle after taking it back from him. She knew full well that she wouldn't be included in his house plans, but it was nice to know that some part of her was affecting his decisions. She didn't say so, for fear of releasing what was in her head.
"I don't think it's so weird," she told him, taking one of his arms and wrapping it around her belly button, under the water and secure. "We're getting married after all." Sarcasm. "I like it anyways." Not sarcasm.

Jack shrugged her defense of his partner off, though he nodded in silent understanding for her unnatural ability (in his opinion) to socialize and actually get people regardless of their background or species. It was a quality he admired somewhat, for what it was worth; some people still weren't worth the trouble.
"Not everything," he said mildly, taking a napkin to wipe his hands and mouth before crumpling it in the empty cup.

He considered for the umpteenth time trying to tickle her, but he knew it was useless and would backfire. So he let his fingers rest on the edge of the scar Evan had given her, decided that wasn't quite it, and then joined both hands, loosely securing her.
"Wonder if you think anything is weird," Jack commented. "You're practically weird central." It didn't sound unkind. "Weird capital of the weird country with a weird flag and everything."

"I think you're weird," she said back, sticking out her tongue before laughing at letting it settle. She liked the way water ran off her skin whenever she moved her hands from the tub, so much so that she reached back to smooth the skin on the crook of Jack's neck.
Words festered in her chest again and she pushed them into kissing the underside of Jack's jaw. "I guess that makes you prince of crazytown, eh?"

"Most things," Chel argued, leaning on one of her hands. "S'why I got you to clean it up."
She hummed for a moment, trying to think. "How'd you lose your v card?"

"Emperor of the country, if we're married," he purred, tilting his head to complete the kiss properly. The wine, the warmth, and the water had him uncoiling like very little else could, inch by inch. When he pulled back, he was grinning something genuine and proud. "Home of the freaks, nerds, and outcasts."
It was around then that Chel's iPod shuffled to a familiar song, and Iack started to hum along with it because he damn well felt like it. Only like this did he realize just how stiffly he normally held himself.

"Hmm." He had to think back past the fog that was Deus and remember he used to have a stupid teenage life beyond that. The option to skip over his actual first was there, but like his previous answers, Jack chose to stick to the truth, however embarrassing it was. One didn't engender trust by withholding it, even though he was sure Chel was just going to make fun of him.
"About three months after I thought Lina had died, I found myself at this house party. Rich friend of friend's birthday, parents are at some soiree or some s**t, I don't know, the usual cliche high school crap. I'd been holding myself together well enough until then, all things considered," he said as a disclaimer.
What didn't occur to him until after he was done was that he could have just summarized it. He decided then was a good time to grab his sunglasses and slide them back on.
"a*****e friend titled it Dong x Wang," he finished and sort of cracked up at the memory. "Kicked his a** for being such a p***k."

Chel snorted, almost spitting out the wine she'd just sipped. "Yeah, right 'fore we run it to the ********' ground."
She was quieted for a moment, startled by the raw vibrations against her back. Instead of talking or taking action, she allowed herself to be quiet and listen.

Rather than laugh or make fun of him, Chel just had an endless storm of questions. "But like that's a total ********' party foul what a doucher." She crossed her arms and gave Jack a small thumbs up when he mentioned kicking his a**. That was the right action to take.
"Was she hot? And like why's the class president bangin' dudes senseless ain't that like not the point-" She gasped and interrupted herself, "Wait f'you were just naked and blacked out, how you even know you had sex?"
The she was quiet, but not before snorting and adding, "Craft and Dong. S'a crafty dong." And then she started laughing.
