For now Misa decided to take a seat by the mouth of the cave in order to catch up on some reading. Last time she did any reading it had to be rushed since one of her Pokemon had to be sent back to the PC. But now one could relax and crack open up a book to better know one’s opponents. Thus the girl did just that as she took out the book about the Gym Leaders. The teen wanted to resume her reading on Misty since she was the next one she wanted to battle. Misa had yet to encounter any of these starfish Pokemon even though she was well aware of them. Sometimes the girl would see them at the shore of Pallet Town though they tend to be quite aggressive. Maybe they were of wary in general since a lot of kids in the town would try to remove the creature’s gem. The gem was a part of Staryu and Starmie’s body as it were its legs and hands. Its hands and legs could be regrown but Misa had never seen any Staryu or Starmie recover if their gem was taken away. Honestly, she didn’t know if she wanted to see the day that it was plucked off from their body. It was too sad of a thought.

Misa went back to concentrating on the information in front of her. According to the information it looked like Misty’s Gym was often built as a swimming pool for her apprentices to train and bond with their Pokemon. At times it was even used as a means for entertainment in order to showcase the beauty and strength of Water Pokemon. Reading this sort of information gave insight as to what kind of person this Misty was. Even though she believed in the power of Water-type Pokemon she seemed to have her gentler ways. It was nice to know that Misty was going to be the type to show her the potential of these Pokemon.

“Dig-dig-dig!” The noise of a small Pokemon popped up right in front of her. Quite literally it was a Pokemon who just popped out of the ground. It was a very small brown Pokemon who had this pink nose. Its eyes were jet black and looked towards the human girl. The Diglett was very calm as it looked towards the girl. This was a first time for her to lay eyes on a Diglet and she wasn’t going to let it get away. This was going to be a perfect opportunity to catch one. Though, it looked like it was a Lv. 15 Diglett which meant that it was a decently leveled Pokemon. But there was only one Pokemon who could handle this type. Here {7/10=Black Flute}

At least she made some progress on her Pokedex. In fact, she was super excited about it that she decided to take a blast to the past by looking back on her Pokemon’s Pokedex entries. Misa may have known a lot about Pokemon but there was still information in the dex that would help. Still, she continued to read on. Mist was the Gym Leader of Cerulean City which was the city after Mt. Moon. Misa still had some business in Mt. Moon in regards to finding the rest of the fossils. The teen decided that once she found the fossils that she would go to the Gym in order to get her Gym Badge and then return to Pallet Town in order to revive them in Oak’s lab. That way she wouldn’t push off getting the second badge any longer. Misa had already pushed a lot of things back for the sake of the second badge and the fear of her Pokemon retaliating against her.

Maybe it was all part of the imagination. It was indeed dark inside the cavern so it was possible that something was playing tricks on her. That and it could have just been nerves. After catching the Pokemon here in this cave she would return to Pewter City, use the Black Flute to call the Jigglypuff, catch that pink Pokemon, go to Mt. Moon, collect fossils there, and then battle the Gym Leader. There was a lot of things to check before her battle with the Gym Leader but she would find a way to get through it. Plus, she didn’t want to go back to Pallet Town empty handed.

Well, Misa wouldn’t necessarily go back empty-handed. If she were to bring the two fossils with her then it would definitely show her mother and father a part of her journey. Plus they didn’t really talk much when she was last there. Father sort of pushed her to go back on her journey. Maybe he sensed that she was only there for a second before she had to go back. If that were true than father was a rather sharp person. But his love and affection towards Pokemon were second to none when that affection was geared towards Misa. And yes, there was always a story behind her parent’s past.

Both her parents were not Pokemon Trainers. They both came from families that had journey with Pokemon in various regions but the two decided that they didn’t want to do that. Instead, Misa’s mother was a gardener and loved plants. She would plant berries and all sorts of vegetation around the house. The woman was no expert but she definitely knew a thing or two than what most people knew about plants. Misa’s father was an engineer and he did work alongside Pokemon but didn’t go adventuring with them. Her parents did the jobs that were left open by those who went out to go on a journey.

Mama and Papa didn’t want to be the type of adults who would pull back her dreams of becoming something she desired to be. Their own parents, although not entirely thrilled with their decisions, let them choose their own path. Even now, Misa was learning her own path in this journey of hers. Even in this Diglett Cave there was a lot that could be learned about Pokemom. For one, it seemed that Diglets and Dugtrios preferred caves than cities or towns. Maybe it was because humans had done something to the ground where Digletts and Dugtrios didn’t find pleasant to live in. Maybe caves were more desirable because of the nutrients in the ground? But these sort of Pokemon were almost always found in caves save for the exception of caught Digletts/Dugtrios. It was dark in the cave and it was cool so did that reflect how it felt like to be underground too?
