Saving MeduMa!

Lorata looked up at Regina as she spoke, listening to the queen's advice with rapt attention. It made perfect sense, didn't it? Nodding her understanding, she resolved to take those words to heart as she turned a fierce glare back on Aendal. She was still scared, so scared, but she was also angry and knew now exactly who deserved to learn the consequences of angering highbloods. It wasn't hard to pick which emotion she liked better, even if she knew she wouldn't be able to really do anything in a fight like this. Regina could though, she believed that more than anything, and she couldn't wait to watch.

So the little seadweller stood her ground, trembling half with fear and half with that righteous anger, until suddenly the entangled lusii burst from the undergrowth in their terrible states. As they lunged for trolls or turned in on one another, she searched their forms for that one familiar shape and then let out a gasp as she finally spotted her lusus, being dragged along by the vines by several tentacles. The others lashed out, hissing ferociously as their fangs sank into anything close enough. Lorata hesitated only a second before darting forward.

Before she knew it she'd made it and her fingers closed around the vines as she began the process of pulling the jellyfish free. MeduMa was so angry, so very very angry, and the hissing all around made it hard to think, but soon enough one vine came away, and then another, and then another. The jellyfish lifted off the ground, able to levitate the usual distance again without anything pulling her down, and her many voices calmed before rising again in one single unified mantra.

Lorata had never heard them speak as one like that before, but she found she agreed with the sentiment. Turning to see the lusus fighting against them all and then lifting her eyes to Aendal, she raised an arm to point. "He's the one, MeduMa! Kill him!"

MamaJu's HP: 37/40
Free! - Unsuccessful

Voscil spent more of her time noting Wrenmom's injury and the impressive display of trolls rallying to try and take down the glowing pale troll. Even with his glow having dimmed, she still did her best to stay far away from him. As she went she tried freeing another lusii, only to miss her window of opportunity. Admit-ably seeing their queen here added to the distraction.

Not that she was complaining really. Everyone was trying their best in one form or another right? More kids were finding their lusus in the mix-up, that of everything going on that was reason to celebrate.

MeduMa HP: 40-2= 38
Damage Dealt: 0

As MeduMa moved forward to attack the lowblood responsible, she was blindsided by a pack of fighting lusus. With them rushing around, it was hard to sink any of her fangs into any of them, but the jellyfish was putting in great effort regardless. Lorata urged her on from behind, willing her to keep trying until they'd killed their enemy.

Keeper HP: 36
Failed to free a lusus

Unable to handle just standing around while her lusus fought for their lives, Etsali cast her eyes around for some way anyway to help. At first she could find nothing, but then a flash of yellow drew her eyes to Voscil. Her teammate was darting to and fro, trying to pry vines from different lusus. Etsali frowned, remembering that she'd already seen MamaJu free of vines and fighting, so why...? Oh. Oh.

With a goal in mind, the thief threw herself into the task at hand, but unfortunately her attempts were as unsuccessful as her friend's. She'd keep trying though!

for trolls who have not posted yet
You start this battle with the amount of HP you lost during the CYOA subtracted from your health. Groups that reached Aendal's lair first have rested and do not have a health penalty.

Trolls who have lost their lusii: Your lusus has been turned against you, and is struggling against Aendal’s influence and the plants that are holding it hostage. Before you can take part in the battle, you may attempt to free them. Write a RP post in which your troll frees your lusus; you may decide how difficult it is to free them, and how serious their injuries are. Once you get your lusus back, your HP will be the standard 40 for lusii, minus any health lost during the CYOA (except for groups who have rested). As per usual, lusii will take all attacks and the damage directed at their charge during this battle.

LUSII UNDER AENDAL'S CONTROL: 96/100
Aendal may take additional damage from a combined attack when a certain amount of lusii are freed.
(staff will keep track of this number and the damage dealt due to this effect.)
Lusii needed for next combined attack: 10

Aendal had dealt with a horde of kids once before - this time, however, they were even smaller. This would be simple. They were easy to pick off, after all. Seeing that the lusii had not quite done their job, Aendal snarled. Brats. He sliced through an avian lusus threatening to attack him with his machete and looked down below. His display of drones had yet to touch the ground to advance; it was time to change that.

Aendal's first wave subsides as the lusii spread out and scatter in a disorganized mob of chaos. From the white masses emerge Aendal's secondary troops - freshly re-animated corpses. They are completely covered in vines, which have taken root inside of them. Small flowers and sizeable pods are growing from their exposed wounds. With graceless but swift movements they charge at the group, aiming to assimilate the trolls into Aendal's army.

If you rolled a 1, you are quickly and soundly overtaken by a vine-touched drone. It swings its arms, and vines emerge from it and rope you in - soon it's completely laced around your upper torso and head. You feel pressure around your body and then the piercing pain of a stabbing root system. You take 3 damage from the attack. In addition, you are entangled: take 1 damage every time you roll this round until you roll a 5 or 6 for accuracy. (Lusii cannot remove this effect until the next round.)
If you rolled a 2, you take a nasty bite from one of the drones, and shortly after feel a spray of seeds scatter near your wound. Take 2 damage. In attempting to remove yourself from the dangerous infestation, you become entangled: take 1 damage every time you roll this round until you roll a 5 or 6 for accuracy. (Lusii cannot remove this effect until the next round.)
If you rolled a 3, a couple of drones lumber up to you and attempt to grab you in the chaos In dodging them and the lusii, you find yourself cornered. You're quickly pinned by the drones, and become entangled: take 1 damage every time you roll this round until you roll a 5 or 6 for accuracy. (Lusii cannot remove this effect until the next round.)
If you rolled a 4, you fight hand-to-hand with a drone, which fortunately has less grace than a living fighter. Your sense allows you to separate some of its living vines and you manage to weaken it enough to escape becoming entangled. Take 1 damage.
If you rolled a 5, you pinpoint a drone that is mostly plants and very few body parts (in fact, it may have an extra hand in there somewhere), and decide to cull the weakest of the herd. In doing so you manage to avoid damage, but deal 1 less damage this turn for your easy-way-out.
If you rolled a 6, you have had enough of this puppet bullshit and take your weapon straight to the vine-joints controlling the puppets. Without their armature, the drone falls to the ground in a crumpled, twitching heap as it begins to regrow, and you take the opportunity to take a swing at Aendal himself.

Half hour options:
Fight! Teens can choose to attack Aendal once every half hour, as normal.
Free! Kids can attempt to free the lusii from Aendal’s influence. Roll 2d4 as normal at the beginning of the round (first die representing the dodge roll, second representing damage). You can roll 1d4 at each half-hour interval. This roll deals no damage. When you roll two of the same number in a row you free a lusus, which attacks Aendal upon being liberated and deals the sum of those two numbers as damage. Note that the first number (representing dodge) in the 2d4 rolled in the beginning of the round does not count towards freeing a lusus. When this occurs, please post in bold the damage that you have dealt, and that you have freed a lusus.
Example: Kid A rolls 2d4 at the beginning of the round and gets a 2 and a 3. At the next half-hour opportunity, they roll 1d4 and get a 3. Since they got two 3’s in a row, they deal a total of 6 damage to Aendal and free a lusus from his grasp.

MamaJu's HP: 34/40; entangled

As her lusus managed to crawl out from the trampling pile of vine-touched lusii, she was soon overcame by a drone. The creature snarled, slashing at the creature landing a powerful blow. In turn it left her wide open for an attack, the vines from creature shot forward, wrapping and entangling her once again. While less in volume the pain of it was obvious, as the beast cried out. Her blood blossomed, droplets oozing onto the vines around her.

Voscil had been warned not to approach her, and she would not disobey her mothers orders. Her snarl and yowl were a firm reminder to keep trying what she'd been at.

MamaJu deals 3 damage. She takes -3 damage (+ round effect)

Keionx Rutace
HP = Whoever decides to guard her has taken 2+3 damage and is entangled i'm so sorry i will never post again ;___;
Action: Trying to Free Lusii and failed WAIT UNLESS THAT 3 SHE GOT LAST ROUND COUNTS

Keionx was not in any sort of rational thought, just HACK SLASH DODGE BLOCK OH MY GOG THEY ARE ZOMBIES AND WHY IS THAT LUSUS SCREAMING AAAA. If she was sane, it would have occurred to the young orangeblood that she had never actually been in a real battle, or in a real heroic encounter, or anything beyond flarp and occasional adventures. With her dad. While on her great adventure journey of heroics, she had only fought in a group or against small things. She had done things, sure, like carry water to a thirsty town, or puzzle out riddles, but in the end, she had never been in something like this alone. She was outclassed.

Not that she achknowledged it.

As she struggled to fight against the vines that bound up the lusii and the undead that attacked the group, she failed to spot the vines reaching for her from a nearby drone, their tendrils searching for her warm flesh...

Keeper HP: 36 - 1= 35
Damage Dealt: 1

Keeper finally succeeded in throwing off her attacker, thankfully avoiding the thing's horns. As she got her paws back under her, she came up ready to finish the fight, teeth bared, but found that the other lusus had scattered to chase other prey. She considered going after him, to end the threat, but instead she turned to look for Etsali, watching the little troll's movements a moment. She didn't like that she wasn't staying in a safe place, but...well, she was fast enough.

The raccoon dragon turned to see what new enemy would come her way and barked at the drone as it approached. Then she charged, teeth digging in and claws tearing at the vines.

MeduMa HP: 38 - 2= 36; Entangled
Damage Dealt: 3

Finally free of the stampede, MeduMa pressed onwards, more eager even than her troll to do some damage to the lowblood responsible for all of this. But though the rampaging lusii were no longer in her way, plant-controlled drones were lumbering towards them. Hissing, she floated forward to meet them, tentacles stretching out to bite and tear at them. Unfortunately, one of the drones had had the same idea, and one voice turned distressed as the drone's teeth sank deep into a tentacle. Not long after, she felt the seeds sprayed near the wound and struggled to pull away, to regain distance to see the proper way through this. Unfortunately this only served to entangle her.

Lorata gasped at the sight, startled at the damage her lusus had taken, and then shook her head in fierce denial of any thought that MeduMa might not be able to deal with this battle. "Keep going! They can't stop you! You'll kill them, I know you will!"

Novice Trinket - Agility Type B (2x hit)

Unnatural daywalkers. These were no real zombies, brought naturally to light by the Alternian sun. These were machinations of the rainbowdrinker himself. They must die.

Tamiya's collection of puppets and marionettes and various other stringed effigy constructs from her childhood told her exactly what to do. She made haste, taking her club to each joint of the puppet with pin-point accuracy.

"DIE, ********, DIE!" She roared. As the first drone fell, she severed its vine-connected head from its body with her bladed shoe by turning on her heel to face the rest. Tamiya began to chant.

Tamiya has dealt 3 damage.

Odette dealt 1 damage.
Odette used her Agility Power (Type A!)

Odette searched frantically for her team. She had rushed in to fight so fast, and she had separated herself from the very trolls she promised to defend. Then, from the corner of her eye, she spotted Kei. Dangerous vines approached her, and without her lusus, Odette was sure the child would be culled within seconds.

Odette sprinted to the redblood, taking the brunt of the hit from the vines. Although she was biting back screams, she was thankful that she took the damage over Keionx. She turned back to the redblood, eyes welling up.

"Go, free the lusii! They need your help!" Odette shouted encouragingly to the redblood. Despite knowing little about the girl, Odette was able to peace together that the girl thought herself something of a hero. She could play the part of her shield as much as possible, but she wanted to encourage Kei to do something valuable that wouldn't get herself into as much danger.

Odette whacked at the vines with her glaive to free her feet, but the vines remained tangled up her torso. She glanced back at Kei, taking care to remember to keep the girl in her sights. And with that, she ran off again, using the wind to swoop down and assault Aendal.

She jabbed at his right leg, remembering his weak spot from their last fight. Though she was sure that the jadeblood had evolved in more ways than one, it was worth a shot.

She looked up at Aendal after swinging at him. Up close, the jadeblood was more frightful than she expected. He had evolved into some sort of monster after losing his lusus, and Odette couldn't help but feel some pity for him.

Regina swung her blade, glaring up at the adult drones. Idiots all of them -- if kids could make it through alive, what was the point of all the adults? She wondered if the previous queen had taken to only recruiting the most thick-skulled trolls as a point of pride, trying to make herself look more intelligent by comparison. But that wasn't true was it? The real fighters, the true army had been on all the ships. She was left with the troops who had been told to stay home and babysit the planet, due to their uselessness in actual combat. If she was bigger, she could have just forced herself through them, instead of having to rely on her finesse with the blade. Gl always said her short body made her have a tall mind, or whatever, it was kind of hard to understand her sometimes she spoke in such an old dialect, but at this moment Regina couldn't help wishing for a little more bulk, as she struggled against the adults pinning her in. Felling one, she turned to the other, unable to shake it off.

MamaJu's HP: 33/40; entangled
Free! - Succeed!

Seeing as Mamaju was putting herself in such danger, the vines binding to her with an iron grip. Voscil felt the need to step up her efforts. Turning her attention to a lusus that was near the outside, she rushed forward, leaping over a drone. The lusus she approached was slow, and bellowing as it kicked in distress. It was easy enough to get close, she was easily able to grab hold of the creature forcing it to look into her eyes. "You have to free yourself come on! Fight it!" It wasn't her mama, but she felt bad for it all the same. If her encouragement helped in any way or form, then she'd keep at it.

Whining and kicking with renewed aggression, it was able to break free at last, turning on it's capture with righteous fury now that it was free the toxic painful effects of its entanglement. Voscil threw her hands up, bouncing up and down in excitement for the lusii. "Yeah! There you go!" Voscil exclaimed with a toothy grin.

A lusus is now fee! It deals 6 points of damage!

Struggling, Wrenmom tugged on Zindel's shirt, prompting him to hit it— so he did. He never went against Wrenmoms suggestions. With a punch, the drone stumbled back, but Zindel as still not free. Keeper HP: 35
Failed to free a lusus

Etsali looked this way and that, trying to find another lusus to try and free that maybe wouldn't be so hard to keep hold of! She paused a moment to watch as her lusus threw herself at a reanimated drone, letting out a little cheer as Keeper tore into the vines moving the body, and then moved for the next closest target. Somewhere across the way, she saw Voscil pull a vine off a larger lusus, and this time she grinned approvingly. They could do this!

Unfortunately maybe she couldn't right this second. She tugged at the vines again with a frustrated sound, then dodged a swipe and backed off for a bit.
