Skae frowned as he watched the troll shimmy down the rope. It was so unfair! But he supposed that watching the others back was a good thing too. It was just...ugh...so boring! Taldad didn't share the same opinion as he pecked at poorly hidden loyalist.

Skae waited just long enough for the troll who'd gone down a floor to climb back up before letting Taldad carry him away. The corvus had been itching to keep moving and was grumbling that the intel troll was too slow and probably had a snail lusus.

Taldad took 0 dmg and did 6 dmg

Broken glass....? Ganyma frowned. It was hard to keep fighting in a situation like this, but he did so anyway, planting a fist between the eyes of a defender. He wasn't actually sure what the rebels were doing in the Skyrise, but he didn't question their plans anymore. Under his mask, he took in a deep inhale as a sharp piece of glass grazed his leg.

Ganyma did 2 + 1 = 3 damage!

[ Rasali hated this. She'd done nothing so far but get chased, beat up, discover a cat allergy, chucklevoodooed, and fallen into a gaping hole in the ground. The very least she could do would be to make it to the finish line. Unfortunately not even her own team was helping her out with that. They were taking a detour into some dumb office building.

Rasali groaned at the sight of a veritable sea of computers. Great. More things she was bad at.

And she'd been doing so well in the recruiting phases, too!

Kursha ended up on the top floor of the Skyrise. There was no particular reason he had gone up there, but WOW. IT WAS REALLY HIGH UP! Also it looked like there was a lot of cool stuff laying around.

As Kursha proceeded to sniff about upstairs, the Colonel busied herself with tearing more throats.

Kursha (the Colonel) dealt 2 + 2 = 4 damage!

New kid rules:
NEW RULES OF NOTE:
Kid battle mechanics have changed somewhat for this battle event.

If you're a kid on assault: Roll 2d6 for your first turn after the boss attacks. The first die is the damage you take and any effects that happen, and the second die is your (lusus') damage roll as normal.

Additionally, at half-hour opportunities between rounds, lusii can attack. They roll 1d4 damage that automatically hits. Lusii cannot be healed or support trinketed.


“We’ve got to get going!” The rebels had what they needed. They made their way to the Daylight Mall before the sun rose. “The daywalkers will keep the royalists away for now… We should take turns sleeping in case some of ‘em get in. The army, I mean. Don’t worry, kiddos,” exclaimed a particularly biting rebel with a sharp smile. “We’ll take out their leader early in the evening, so get ready to rise and shine with the moon.”

Into the Daylight Mall the rebels went. There would be danger inside, of course, but nothing the group had not already weathered. Sopor patches were distributed, and trolls take turns sleeping while others search the store for supplies and fend off royalists who have managed to have gotten in.

For your dodge roll, listings go as follows:

If you roll a 1, a loyalist agent ambushes you as you’re exploring the second story. They chase you through multiple stores until you finally throw yourself over the balcony. Your landing in the fountain below wasn’t as soft as you’d anticipated, but the loyalist gives up the chase. You take 4 damage. If you are INTEL, you take 2 extra damage from loss of your equipment to the water.

If you roll a 2: All of the UV-protective skylights have been blown out, leaving little protection from the rising sun. Millions of fragments of broken glass reflect light into your eyes, disorienting you. You take 3 damage. If you are ASSAULT, you take 2 extra damage from your poor fighting ability in the light.

If you roll a 3, you’re in need of supplies and serendipitously surrounded by dozens of abandoned stores. Unfortunately the distraction of going through wares leaves you open to an ambush. You take 2 damage, and deal half damage this turn.

If you roll a 4, ii. One of the locked stores seems like the perfect place hide for the day. As an INTEL troll, you’re able to spot the security alarm and avoid setting it off. Take no damage, deal normal damage. As an ASSAULT troll, you’re able to muscle through the locked door, but trip the alarm, alerting everyone in the area to your presence. You lose 2 accuracy; kids with lusii take 1 damage per roll due to the screeching alarms.

If you roll a 5... There are unfamiliar trolls shambling into the mall. As an INTEL troll, horrific tales of daywalkers rise in the back of your mind. Panicked, you run for cover, stumbling through debris in the process. You take 1 damage and do half damage this turn. As an ASSAULT troll, you face the intruders head-on, and find they’re locals whose hives have been destroyed and are seeking shelter from the sun. You take no damage and deal normal damage this turn.

If you roll a 6, you raid as many stores as you can for their mirrors. They’re positioned strategically throughout the mall, providing a barrier of sunlight against invading loyalists. You gain 3 additional damage per attack/friendly coordinate search during this round.

The Colonel tried to warm him. She tried to tell him about the blinking red lights. She tried to explain that those meant that the security system was armed. But did Kursha listen? Of course not. The stupid greenblood never listened, even when it was to his benefit.

The Colonel screamed right along with the alarms. She needed to disembowel something quickly. Something that was ideally not her charge, though she was seriously beginning to reconsider. The little idiot was currently tucked behind a bench, hands pressed up to his hear ducts.

Kursha (the Colonel) dealt 1 + 2 = 3 damage!

[ Upon hearing the word "rest" Rasali nearly broke into tears. (Not that that meant much, as Rasali had spent most of this trek crying.) Never in her life had she needed a break more than she did at that moment. Rasali thanked every deity she knew of for the sight of the Daylight Mall looming in the distance. Even the Mirthful Messiahs.

Entering the mall was a different story. Every building Rasali had entered since the fighting started had been totally wrecked. She should have expected as much from the mall. She was clearly too tired to think clearly. Glass scattered everywhere glittered in the sunlight. It was a beautiful sight that Rasali couldn't fully appreciate because she was blinded for the second time that night.

Ganyma was on the run. He made a quick (unthinking) leap into the fountain below and crashed down hard. That smarted... Big time.

Stryke had seemingly hit the jackpot in terms of goods from abandoned stores. Rifling around, in the hopes of finding something to much on the long haired yellowblood rifled around humming to himself before bolting up right, hitting his head on a desk. His radio had gone off at a bad time, and a Royalist happened to stumble across his wear abouts. Hissing in anger the troll boy would have stood to fight his much taller adversary but his lusus was soon hoisting him up, dragging him away even when the creature endured injure to protect the kid.

This evening just kept getting more and more perilous. The majority of the ambush had been taken by his lusus at least..even if the initial smack to his thinkpan had hurt.

Strykes results deal 0 damage and takes 4 damage.
