I don't know where I'm going,
But I sure know where I've been Tho' I keep searching for an answer,
I never seem to find what I'm looking for

 When Calli asked him a question, Nic nodded, "Yeah, sure." figuring she was talking about not just the dinner as a whole but the "important" part and just mentioning him to be nice. Her and Richard.
Although, as she continued, it was about Nic's opinion on the dinner and everything else.
"A pleasure?" he laughed, "Yes, you could say that. It's the best food, the best wine, the best accommodations, and... well, most of the people aren't too bad either." he said, joking somewhat at the end there. Somewhat.
As they walked, Nic patted Thor, and then mussed up the fur on the top of Abu's head.
"Yes. I don't know about you, but I would say my horizons are considerably broadened since I saved you earlier today" he said, with a small chuckle. That, and perhaps his pockets.
But there was more to it than that here... this wasn't just pickpocket central, this was long term possibilities, opportunities. He was starting to see it more and more now, but still knew there were some things, or people rather, that might try to get in the way of that. That would try to ruin this for him. And he had the feeling it was just Richard.
But Nic was smart, street smart, he could figure this out.
She agreed with him on the broadening horizons thing, which was too be expected, and the rest had to do with his swirling thoughts.
Nic smiled over at the Princess brightly, "I am happy to do anything I can to help you and the kingdom, Calli. You have no idea how great that sounds to a poor Gypsy like me. It is an honor."
Yeah he was getting better at this.
The scheming had begun.
Before too much more could be said however, they were entering the kitchen, which was absolutely HUGE. Like everything else around here...
There were people in white and aprons bustling around everywhere. And the smell! It made his mouth water already. Best dessert to go with best dinner? ******** ya man.
As Nic looked around in wonderment, sniffing at the air, a lot of attention was brought to the Princess and the animals, while everyone seemed to ignore him completely, but he hardly noticed. That is, until Calli fell right into him. He pivoted just enough get a foot hold without totally stumbling, one hand going to her arm, making sure she was alright.
And then she was steadying herself and stepping away, her warmth and scented hair leaving him.
Nic cleared his throat and stood a little straighter, "Are you okay Calli?" he said, sounding concerned. He hoped she wasn't drunk too... He bet Richard would try to take advantage of that. Even if they were going to be married! They just met today, jeez.
However, as if reading his mind, well partially, the Princess insisted she was not drunk. Or usually so clumsy.
"Are you sure?" he teased, raising his brow and grinning, though it somehow only took a touch and a wink to falter.
"O-of course Princess. Calli. Anything for you."
He was just kissing a**! Obviously. Hadn't said it without thinking first or anything Obviously.
Well hey, he'd been drinking too. The only thing that's been on my mind

Richard wondered if Kanae had even been listening to a word he said with the way she stared at him the entire time. It didn't really matter anyway though, he clearly had her attention, the kind he really wanted.
However, his amusement was temporarily cut short when that Javi dude or whatever Nae called him, put in. Richard turned his eyes to take in the darker man speaking about the alliance and conditions of Bania. He was... surprisingly forthcoming with personal information concerning the King.
Most of it, Richard pretty much knew already, but still.
He nodded, "Of course. It's the perfect alliance." he said, somewhat dryly toward the guy, basically dismissing him as he allowed his attention to drift back toward Nae as she spoke.
She was a lot nicer to look at after all.
Richard started to answer her, then subtly stopped, taking the moment to enjoy the flirting, staring straight back at her with a crooked smile. "Of course you would be welcome. I'll give you the tour myself."
"Oh and me. I'll give you a tour." Rob said, holding one hand up, while the other was still holding his phone, which he was looking at.
"Nah." Diana shrugged, also preoccupied.
Richard rolled his eyes, but turned the grin back on Nae again. "The Blackwoods of Andor at your service."
"I'll give Nic a tour..." Diana mumbled just barely loud enough to be heard by most.
Richard's eyebrow literally twitched as his teeth clenched in an effort to not flip out. Then he reached for the nearest wine glass with deliberate slowness and a steady hand, and finished it, with the same forced calm. He was not good at this. It took a hell of a lot of effort.
Diana stared at the table, deliberately not looking at Richard and his reaction. Yeah, oops.
'Cause I took that s**t out.

"The perfect alliance." Javier muttered through his glass. Clearly, he was not the most thrilled about it, but it was his duty to abide by it and speak highly of it.
"A tour-" Kanae stopped as Rob cut it, saying he would give her a tour as well. She couldn't help but laugh, especially when Diana cut in- saying she wasn't interested unless Nic wanted a tour. Too cute. Of course, the little princess wouldn't be enough to cause any real trouble- but she would clearly be of help to her.
"That's too bad Diana, but I'm sure Nic would be thrilled to have you at his side, touring the beautiful Andor." She turned to head back to Richard as he lifted his glass and finished it off. She really wanted another drink, but it was not a good idea. She needed to eat something, get some of this alcohol soaked up. Her head needed to be clear. Tonight was important, so much could be done, overhead, and executed. She needed to get it together--- But she kept looking over Richards face... down his body... And her thoughts were wandering back to before dinner.
"I think a tour would be grand, we will have to compare schedules and come up with a good time, yes Richard?" She called for his attention, trying her best to keep her voice strong and steady. But her clasped hands trembled in her lap.
Moments later, Calli and Nic were coming back into the room, her laughter echoing in the dining room. As the door shut behind them, the men returned, shortly followed by giggling women, mostly from Andor. There weren't a lot of women in the Bania castle, unless you included staff.
Nae rolled her eyes, making sure that Richard could see. Then she mouthed, "Boooring." Before everyone took their seats, fixing up the mess they made of the chairs, Nae slipped Richard a piece of napkin she had ripped off.
Meet me outside your room tonight? It was risky, but she hoped no one saw her.
Just as her hand slipped from Richard's, Calli and Nic were taking their seats. Nic was left one between her and Calli and Calli was addressing her, asking for her thoughts.
"What? Oh, yeah. It's silly to have you so far away." Her cheeks flushed as the words stumbled from her lips. She glanced at Calli, before turning to flash a smile at Richard.
I've been so wrapped up in my warm cocoon.,
But somethings happening things are changing soon. I'm pushing the edge..
Feeling it crack and once I get out,There's no turning b a c k,
Watching the butterfly go towards the sun...

"It was part of my upbringing to learn grace. I may not have excelled in that, apparently my mother didn't either. However, I am not usually all over the place. I just feel a little... out of place." Calli sighed, then smiled again. "Anything for me, huh? Now you sound like the help." She teased.
"I just feel like so much is riding on tonight. I know he really doesn't have a choice, but I have to impress him. I don't know the first thing about impressing guys." Where was this coming from!? She really needed to stop talking.
"I've been locked on palace grounds my entire life. How am I supposed to make a prince, especially one as... experienced as him, fall in love with me?" Calli turned a bright shade of pink, her hand flew to her mouth.
"You do not want to hear this, I am so sorry. I don't know what's gotten into me." She shook her head.
"Daddy and everyone will be back soon. We should head back." Her words came out too quickly as she stepped forward, ready to lead him back to the dining room.
Her head was rushing. She hadn't even realized she was thinking those things until they were coming out of her mouth. What was she thinking!? Nic didn't even know her. He was a guest, who saved the princesses life. That was all. He wasn't her friend, he wasn't here to help her get married.
She really needed to talk to Kanae, she seemed better at this stuff.
Eventually, the pair walked into the dining room together, all smiles now. Just as the door closed, the opposite one opened, the room was filled shortly after, with everyone chosing nearly the same seats. "Richard, why don't you stay down here with us?" Calli offered, taking her seat beside where her father would sit, leaving the spot between her and Nae open for Nic.
"It seems silly to have you so far away, don't you agree Kanae?"
"What? Oh, yes. Very silly to have you so far."

Nic nodded as Calli explained herself, but then blushed slightly when she said he sounded like the help. Yeah, don't lay it on so thick idiot. He tried to seem like he was really paying attention to what she was saying, but as it turned to Richard and how important this night was for them, he couldn't help but feel extremely awkward.
Nic shrugged, "I think you're impressive. He would be an idiot not to see it." he said, looking down and slightly to the side with his hands in his pockets. Well he had to say something! Something positive.
Although, it got even more awkward when she mentioned not knowing how to get the prince to fall in love with her.
Fortunately, he was saved having to try to answer that one when Calli dismissed it all herself. Ha yeah, he really didn't want to hear any of it....
"Right. I can't wait for dessert! It smelled delicious." he said, trying to put on a smile for her. She was clearly really nervous about this whole thing and he felt bad. It didn't seem right that she was trying so hard, when he got the impression that the Prince would rather be anywhere else. Oh no, Nic wasn't fooled by his smooth talk.
Once they returned to the dining room it wasn't long before everyone else started streaming in, so it looked like they put the animals back just in time. The seating arrangements had clearly changed somewhat, but he still found himself between Calli and Nae like before.
Nic leaned back in his seat, stretching a little bit, preparing his stomach for the undoubtedly mouth watering morsels to come!
He got distracted by the Princess addressing Richard though, asking him to sit closer. Yeah great, sit closer. Because you're clearly so much fun. And bored.
Maybe this s**t was only cool to Nic because he had never been to anything at all like this before, but still. It was a big delicious dinner, how boring could that ever get!?
Or maybe Nic just really like food more than the average person...
About halfway through a stretch, he froze, catching the cold glare coming his way from Richard just before the guy sat down near them on the other side of Nae.
Nic slowly finished his stretch and then averted his eyes, wondering what the hell his problem was now. The only thing that's been on my mind

Richard ignored any other comments made concerning Nic and a damn tour and his sister, not even noticing how he ground his teeth. His sister was ******** 15! And this guy was clearly a poor street thug or something, that would just be looking for someone here to take advantage of. Already he was sitting next to the ******** Princess at dinner, instead of him.
When his name was said by Nae, Richard blinked and looked up from his brooding. "Ah- yes." what had she said.... tour schedules right, right, "I'll have someone go over my calendar." he answered, still somewhat absently, though his eyes did soften somewhat as they traveled over Kanae.
However, Richard spotted Calli and Nic returning out of the corner of his eye, shifting his attention and hardening his features once more.
Oh had a good time in the kitchens did they? How nice.
Everyone else started coming in and Richard regretfully stood, not looking forward to returning to his seat down the table to suffer through more of this boring s**t. Especially when his mood had turned, making boring, irritating.
He was just about to walk down the table when he caught Nae rolling her eyes and mouthing a word toward him. Well, he wasn't the only one bored by now apparently. The corner of his lips turned up into a slight smirk, raising an eyebrow at her when she slipped him a piece of napkin.
Richard's eyes darted around briefly as he took it in his hand, then glanced down, smirking deeper, before turning his eyes back up to catch Nae's.
He pocketed the note and started to turn around to walk back to his seat, but was stopped when the Princess addressed him, pivoting on his toes.
"Good point. I've been thinking that myself all dinner." he said, sounding more upbeat, walking back toward Nae, which was the closest open chair to Calli. Well, he didn't want to sit on the Banian King's other side anyway.
Before sitting however, he caught sight of Nic stretching all casually, like he was getting ready to tuck in here. ******** that.
The guy just stared back at him before looking away first, and only then, did Richard sit down, turning his smile back on for Kanae.
"I agree it is silly to be so far away from you lovely ladies, particularly on the first night we are supposed to be getting to know each other" he said, smiling at both girls, though his hand lightly gripped Nae's knee from under the table as he spoke.
Hey look at that, he was enjoying himself more already.

Calli leaned over the table to smile down at Richard as he turned and took the seat next to Nae. She seemed a big more stable now, so Calli wasn't as concerned with him sitting there.
"They clearly didn't think a seating chart through." She rolled her eyes, her cheeks dusted in a blush. "My thoughts exactly, Richard." She smiled, sat back comfortably, and looked towards her father as he spoke.
With his presence, the room smelled vaguely of musky smoke, a scent Calli had grown to love.
"Dessert is served, afterwards I invite you all to the commons room. There will be music, a bar, seating room, and enough room for dancing. There's also a giant television to play the game on, or whatever we so chose. Dig in!" He chuckled, raising his glass as the waiters brought in trays of gourmet dessert options. Each tray had a different assortment of fancy, well presented options. The waiters stood at different ends of the table, asking for everyone's choice, followed by a dessert wine.
Calli nudged Nic, "It's so hard to chose just one!"
One waiter leaned in and smiled, setting a plate in front of the princess.
"Henry made your favorite for you, princess." Then he poured her wine and stepped away from the table.
"Wonderful." She smiled down at her plate then glanced down at Nae and Richard.
"What did you guys decide on?" Calli took her first bite, humming in satisfaction. "This is the best. Henry calls it a lava cake." She beamed, trying to find interesting things to ramble about.
They needed to finish dessert so that they could really interact in the common room. That would be perfect. Music, dancing, drinks, something casual. This dinner was just too formal, and it made things feel awkward. She was already freaking out as is. And she really needed a little girl talk with Kanae beforehand. She clearly was not prepared to woo a guy. Richard hardly seemed too interested. Or maybe he did. Calli had no idea how these things went.

Nae smiled as Richard glanced down at the note, then across the room. Nobody had seemed to notice anything, hopefully that remained the case. They did not need anyone knowing about this little fling, not just yet at least. Not until it would benefit her, anyways. Until then, she was stirring the pot.
Nae's eyes stuck to Nic as he stretched, looking rather comfortable. Maybe there was something to this Nic and Calli friendship. She hoped so. It would be so helpful. And he was totally cute, so that helped. Even if Calli didn't secretly have a thing for him, she could tell Nic liked the princess. Or maybe just her status. Either way, he would be such a handy tool. The only question was how to get him on her side---
Then Richard's hand encased her knee, causing her thoughts to freeze in their tracks and shift right to his skin touching hers. Her cheeks flushed against her pale skin, she tried her hardest not to glance down. His voice was close behind her, "It is silly to be so far away from you lovely ladies, particularly on the first night we are supposed to be getting to know each other."
"I agree, Cal. Someone will have to talk to the even planner." She winked. The king was speaking, telling them about the after party. Drinks, music, oh yes. This could get really interesting. Especially if more guests were to show up, which she thought Javier had mentioned before. This was supposed to be a small, private-guest invite only sort of thing. Good, good. Who knew what would come of it.
Nae was choosing her own dessert when she heard someone deliver Calli's favorite to her. Kanae decided on a strawberry concoction, then nudged Richard. "Whatcha thinkin? Calli's right. Everything looks so delicious." Her eyes ran over him as she said the last sentence. Yeah, the desserts looked good but... Richard looked much better. She dipped her finger into the strawberry sauce and sucked it off, subtly. She didn't make it overly sexy, or draw it out. She merely tasted the sauce.
Kanae then turned to Nic, "I'm sure you don't get treated to these things very often. And there's so many options." Her voice wasn't icy in the slightest, but her eyes may have spoke a different story.
"Try as many as you'd like sir." The waitress smiled down at Nic.

While Calli was turned away from him as Richard addressed the girls, Nic rolled his eyes. And she blushed! How was the Princess falling for this s**t? AND Nae it looked like.
Then again Nic supposed Calli was pretty naive.
Fortunately, Nic was quickly distracted by the smell wafting into the dining room as the servers brought the desserts in while the kind spoke. Awesome, so there was going to be a dancing and s**t in another room. That was perfect... for a lot of things, and probably more fun. Aside from the food itself, this dinner sucked, but he couldn't be too disappointed with such a satisfied tummy.
Nic looked around at the options presented to him, trying to take it all in.. there was so many choices! But they were all tiny... did each person only get one? How was he going to choose just one!?
The Princess nudged him with the same thoughts.
"I know! They all look so good!" he said, looking over at her with a big wolfish grin. Then he eyed the plate set in front of Calli for a moment... s**t. That looked GOOD. But looking around, he didn't see anymore quite like it.
"Wow you're lucky. They all look good, but that's a chocolate monster" he laughed, seeing the chocolate inside ooze out when she stuck her fork in.
He ignored most of what was going on around him as he tried to decide, and finally settled on a different, but still with a lot of chocolate, and strawberries!
Nic was digging in very quickly, but took a moment to really let his taste buds enjoy the dessert, leaning back with his eyes closed.
When he opened his eyes and continued eating, he glanced at Nae when she spoke to him.
He hesitated a moment before answering, using his full mouth as an excuse. Once he swallowed and took a drink of the new wine he shrugged.
"It's great, I'm definitely enjoying the food..." he said simply, still not sure what to make of her. She sounded casual enough, but Nic didn't feel like it was as casual as it seemed. Something was just off about her, but he had no idea what.
Nic looked back down at his plate, which was empty, in utter disappointment, until the waitress nearest him spoke up again.
"Sweet!" he exclaimed, maybe just a little too loud, and grabbed two more, both different than the last.
Oh hell yeah. This was the life man, Nic thought as he drank more wine between bites.
"So how long have you been around here?" he asked Nae out of the blue, in between plates now. She was from some foreign place in neither kingdom or something right? So he still wanted to know more. The only thing that's been on my mind

Richard grinned, but was only watching Nae's reaction out of the corner of his eye, not wanting to be too obvious. Oh, but he enjoyed her reaction all too much. That should be enough answer to her napkin invitation.
Richard kept his hand on Nae's knee throughout the King's brief speech, and only removed it after a squeeze once the servers came around with the desserts. He grabbed the creamy looking pie and dug in, as instructed.
It was already half gone by the time the Princess asked him and Nae what they got.
He slid the pie further into her view, and after swallowing, said "It's delicious. My compliments to the chef" he said, with a tip of his head.
"I've had lava cake before, definitely one of the best." he said to the Princess with another smile, simply to agree with her really, but he had and they were good.
Richard grabbed another plate from a nearby waiter when he heard one of the waitresses tell Nic he could try more which he definitely took advantage of. Though, he ended up grabbing one without even looking to see what it was, just to grab another one, and also because he'd gotten momentarily distracted by Kanae and her strawberry juice...
He looked down at his plate to find one of the chocolate strawberry mixes.
"As amazing as dessert is, I am looking forward to the little after party, do you dance Calli?" he asked, taking the opportunity while Nae was distracting Nic, since the two were in between him and the Princess.
'Cause I took that s**t out.

Kanae was enjoying her little dessert, and though she knew she wanted more, she resisted. It seemed unladylike to stuff your face. At least that's what any princess is taught growing up.
But as Richard and Nic took seconds she couldn't help herself anymore. She snatched a plate full of chocolate covered strawberries, and began nibbling at one of them when Nic approached her with a question. It always seemed she couldn't get a stab at him without him throwing a punch back. In a way, she kind of liked the challenge, though she found it quite annoying too. Thankfully, her buzz was starting to calm itself as the fluffy cake settled in her stomach. Her head still felt fuzzy, but she avoided the dessert wine and everything seemed to level out.
Thank god. She would really have to watch herself. Clearly, she could not keep up with the big boys! Namely, Richard.
"A few months." She lied. "I came to town, began my exploring, and one day happened to run into Javier out on the town." She nodded at him, since he was listening in, rolling his eyes. "He was shopping for some things for the princess, and I asked him if he was buying the items for a special girl." She took another bite of strawberry, drank water, and continued. "When he told me he worked for the King and it was stuff for the princess, I was intrigued of course. We got to talking, he even bought me coffee." Of course, Nae had known who Javier was when she met him. She wanted to get into the castle in some legit way, and knowing the princess would never venture outside of the walls, she needed a way in.
Javier tried to make the moves on her, she rejected him, and Calli found her sobbing in the bathroom over it. They snuck out to the house in the garden, drank a glass of wine- her first, and talked about it. They clicked instantly, that was true. But mostly because Nae played right into what she knew of the princess. It was rather easy to bond over neither of them having a mom and all that.
She laughed, "Which is disgusting. I had never tried coffee before. I know, I'm apparently crazy for it." Nae had a lot of attention focused on her now, as she told her story. Not everyone dropped in silence for her, as they did the king. But she had a few peoples attention. "Anyways, we learned pretty quickly we were not compatible. Though, Javi did try. So, instead, he brought me back to the castle, thinking that since I was new and all... Well, I'll leave out the embarrassing details." Javier was eyeing her, sucking down another glass of wine.
"But I ran into the princess after things didn't work out with Javier. And we just clicked. We're sister soul mates. I swear." Kanae grinned at Calli, ignoring Javier who was fuming by now. Yeah, telling the entire dinner party he got shot down by her was probably not a great idea. But it was a fun story, and Nic had sort of asked. "Anyways. Not long, Nic. How about you?" People began to turn to their own conversations slowly, since the story was at a close.
"We really just hit it off so well, Nae. You're like the sister I never got to have." Nae touched her heart, smiling warmly at the princess. "You're too sweet."
She replied, finishing up her dessert and patting her little pouch of a stomach. "I'm so full!" She laughed, Calli nodded in a agreement.
I've been so wrapped up in my warm cocoon.,
But somethings happening things are changing soon. I'm pushing the edge..

"It's easily my favorite." Calli beamed at Richard, who shared her love of lava cake. Oh, good. That was one thing that had in common at least! Baby steps.
"Do I dance? Of course I dance. What proper woman doesn't?" Did that sound too formal? Oh no. "I've taken all sorts of lessons my entire life, as I'm sure you have as well?" She smiled, looking forward to showing off her moves. She actually was fairly great at dancing. It was sort of necessary in her family. She had to know the basics, but also trained in many other less-formal styles as well. She loved music, dancing, and just really feeling the floor. All of her partners had been chosen straight from the top of the lists, they were the best dancers around.
Her side of the table grew silent when Nae told the story of how they met. AH, yes. One of her favorites. She smiled at Javier, who returned it with a bit of annoyance masked behind his eyes. She mouthed, "Chin up." It was a funny story after all, and Nae was nice enough to not exactly come right out and say he tried to sleep with her only to get denied. Everyone knew Javier was a bit of a man whore anyways- though usually he didn't get denied apparently.
Calli had spent a lot of time living vicariously through him, listening to all sorts of crazy stories.
"We really just hit it off so well, Nae. You're like the sister I never got to have." And she totally meant that. Kanae was her first real friend. No matter how they met, she was glad they did. Then Nae was complaining of her full stomach and Calli agreed easily. Everyone was starting to finish up dessert at this point, which would lead them into the common room soon enough.

Nic continued on to his third plate of dessert while Nae told the story of how long she had been here and how she ended up best friends with the Princess.
He gave a silent laugh at the obvious parts, glancing over at the guy she was taking about. So that would explain the tension between those two. Javier brought her to the castle to impress her into sleeping with him and gotten rejected, only to have her stick around as the Princess' best friend. Ha. What a blow. But Nic didn't really like him either, so it was extra funny.
Then she asked him how long he had been around, but he waited until after Calli spoke to answer since she had piped in. The Princess really did seem fond of this Kanae, but something about that nagged at him in a different way than the other guys.
"Well, my clan used to move around a lot like most other Romani, but we settled here in the capital a few decades ago because things have changed too much for some of the old ways. So I've lived here my whole life, but still traveled around quite a bit as do many others. We are a restless people it seems" he said with a laugh. "In fact I went backpacking through Andor with my cousins the summer after I graduated." he added, glancing toward Richard, but still keeping most of his attention on Nae, while including Calli in his look as well in case she was interested. But she seemed wrapped up in talk with Richard...
Of course, it wasn't like he really had had much money saved up for the trip he'd taken to Andor and what he had at the time had only really covered the ride across the sea, so he had gotten by over there the same way as over here. It was always easier to get good loot when working in groups anyway.
Nic heard bits about dancing from the "future couple" and both perked up and then down. Dancing sounded fun, but he didn't really know the formal kind of stuff they likely were going to be doing here. Calli had mentioned dancing lessons.... Nic couldn't tango or anything like that, but he knew how to move with the music in general. For actual dances though... no one here would know what he knew. The Badi had their own dances, many of which, though not all, were shared by other Romani clans. The only thing that's been on my mind

Richard shrugged at Calli's comment, but at least she danced! He figured, but still... you never knew. It sounded like she would be good too.
"Of course." he nodded, "I like to be on the move, so dancing is always fun, though especially with an adequate partner" he said, winking at the princess.
"I can't wait to test you out on your feet" he teased.
Richard looked toward Nae when he noticed several others doing the same and came in toward the beginning of her story, but had to figure out who she was talking about for a second. It was fairly obvious once he saw the look on the guys face. Javi or something is what she kept calling him right?
Ha. The dude had tried to bring her back to the castle to impress Nae and still failed miserably by the sound of it.
Well, being a prince was a lot more impressive than just working for a king wasn't it? Besides, Richard knew his status wasn't the only impressive thing about him.
The fact that he had gotten so far with Nae already, not to mention the napkin note, and then hearing about this rejection story just made him smugger.
Richard almost tuned Nic out when he responded to Nae, but decided to listen in on that as well last second, wanting to know more about this Gypsy. There wasn't anything too interesting until he mentioned Andor though, and Richard feigned disinterest.
"I'm glad you've found such wonderful company Princess, it sounds like you may have been lonely so cooped up here, lovely as the castle is." Richard said, laying it on, while letting his fingers brush Nae's leg again, before raising his hand above the table for another drink of wine. He had left the dessert wine alone while eating, but decided on some more now that he was finally full. A buzz to dance with was mandatory!
"I think I will have to take each of you soul sisters out on the dance floor tonight" he warned, grinning at them both. Now that he had mentioned it so nonchalantly, he would have the perfect excuse to give Nae some of his attention that night as well.
He wanted to keep her on the hook without alarming anyone, much less his father.
At least right now his siblings were the ones getting lectured down the table, he noticed with a glance. His sister clearly needed it!

Nae desperately tried to ignore Richard's flirtatious comments when directed at Calli. She wanted to not care, needed to not care really, but couldn't help it. Jealousy churned in the pit of her stomach, the green monster hid behind her fake smile. Richard was glad she found great company, since she had been locked up- but didn't go without complimenting the grounds. He was so smooth. It was hard not to love him and so easy to look at him. Her eyes were drawn back to him every few minutes. But any girl would be starstruck by the prince right? Especially a hot one like Richard.
God. She sounded like a common fan girl. Had she forgotten she was a damned princess herself? Set to rule an entire kingdom on her own, at that! Her daddy trusted her with it, even if she didn't want it- Her dad wasn't forcing her into marriage. Yet.
But Calli here clearly wasn't trusted to run Bania. She wasn't even allowed to walk the streets of it. Pfft.
Nae nodded at a waitress, who filled her glass with dessert wine. One glass wouldn't hurt. Maybe it'd help her keep her dumb mouth shut too. Her thoughts were growing restless.
Nic was explaining his history, about how his clan had settled here a few decades back, but he still had a restless soul. It was sort of charming in a way. Especially the bit about him backpacking through Andor after graduation. That sounded like a treat! Graduation, trips through foreign lands, she had read it was all a sort of right of passage type things when she did her research on the youth around here. Things like getting a driving permit, graduation, and college were all things people just did. Phases of life, if you will. Though the royalty lived differently of course. Had she lived on land, her life would have mirrored Calli's in a lot of ways. But things were done differently down under.
"I think I will have to take each of you soul sisters out on the dance floor tonight." Just like that she was drawn right back into Richard. Nic, who?
Dessert wrapped up and Calli stood to lead them, after her fathers lead of course, into the commons room. She had been in there before, it was a vast room with a ton of stuff to do. Calli had promised to teach her how to play... The game on the table with the balls and sticks. Whatever that was called.
Her father and most of the older crowd went to gather by the bar, other people began streaming in through the other entrance. Kanae hooked her arm through Calli's, smiling brightly. "How many people are coming anyways?"
The princess shrugged. "I'm really not sure. Daddy said he and the adults would wander off after they got their drinks, off to do whatever they do. He said they invited some of the people from the inner, richer city. So, the crowd should be decent. He's hired a DJ and all sorts of things." Calli was speaking louder now, addressing the people near her. Two girls approached them quickly, eyes locked on the princess.
"Oh my god, you're Calliope, I mean Princess--"
"It's our pleasure to meet you- Oh my god, That's Prince Richard!" The blonde girl exclaimed, grabbing her red headed friends hand before scurrying over to him. Nae heard the blonde whisper, "Behave, he's set to marry Calliope you know. I read it in a magazine." She laughed, shaking her head, but her stomach still churned.
"This should be interesting." She turned to look at Nic. "Thank Goodness you didn't react that way to me. It's really awkward." She whispered, then winked at him before Nae pulled her towards the wooden dance floor in front of the lit fireplace. The music had started to leak through the speakers, playing some catchy upbeat, top twenty song with a girl singing and the guy occasionally rapping. "Lets get your party started, girl. It is your first real one, after all." Oh yes, Nae had some things planned for when the adults started to trickle out of the room. Nae and Calli began dancing together. It wasn't anything traditional by any means- since Nae didn't even know what that meant really, though they were keeping it PG-13 as they moved together to the beat, smiling over at Nic and Richard. Nae was new on her feet, but she had spent time watching a lot of music videos, since her research said that dancing was pretty important to the youth. Most of her moves were straight from the top chart ladies, Beyonce, Shakira, a little Miley Cyrus, though she found her to be really sexual... And it made her sort of uncomfortable. But she had sort of learned how to move. Dancing under water was much different, but she had always had a love for music.
