Evan heard the scrabbling of feet and took off after it, bumping into walls and nearly breaking his foot as he stubbed it against the unforgiving stone. He cursed as the footsteps got farther away, slowing his pace so that he didn't injure himself further.
Giving up already? A voice came out of nowhere, and Evan smiled at the familiarity of it.
"Nah," Evan replied, "it's not worth getting hurt over."
Really? the voice asked. Because you were so willing to die fighting them not too long ago. Now you're giving up because you hurt your widdle toes?
Evan paused, frowning. "It's not like that and you know it," he said. "I could be running into danger just as much as I'm running after it, and then what?"
Then you die, I guess, was the voice's casual response. Here I thought you were dedicated to vengeance. Looks like I was wrong.
"That's not true..."
No? You came to my grave to what, then, pay your goddamn respects? You asked for my blessing and I gave it to you. It's nice to know my trust was misplaced. Oh, well, at least I can't die again because you pussied out.
Evan swallowed hard, any argument he wanted to make losing strength before he could even give it a voice. He hurried along the corridor, pushing his mission to the forefront of his priorities. Runt always did know what to say to make him hurt.

Her stealth skills were working! Hanna continued to make progress with no incident, aside from the maddening voices. Her eye was on the prize, and she ignored them as best she could.

[ Area 1 ] [ Event 1 ]
Jake had never been fond of the dark, but he was used to it by now, showing little surprised when the two were immersed into an inky blackness. He felt Sherry's arm, which brought him some relief knowing that she was near, and he reached out with his other hand, trying to see if there was anything there.
He flinched slightly when he felt something cold and hard, and after feeling around a bit more, he realized he was probably touching the wall. Stone perhaps. Were they... in a room?
"I can't see anything, but I..."
'You're a fool, Jake.' "... did you say something?" 'It hurts, doesn't it? And you can't do anything about it.'
T-that voice... but... it couldn't be...

[ Area 4 (1+1=2....move+2) ] [Event 1 + 6]
“I...I did,” at least she thought she had. “Come on, let's keep moving, slowly. Stay close.” Her grip on his arm stated tight.
She moved slowly, not liking the blindness. And the whispers. She could swear one sounded like her mother, telling her over and over she was stupid.
“Can you-” She, didn't get to ask Jake if he had heard anything. Her foot caught, and she lurched forward. In an effort to right herself she let go of Jake. The floor was cold and hard, and she landed on her knee. The jarring pain told her just hoe hard she had landed.
”Jake,” she whispered, climbing to her feet. Only whispers, loud whispers, answered her.
Stupid girl. Stupid, stupid girl. What have you gotten yourself into?
Reaching out, Sherry found no wall, and no Jake. Only darkness and voices. Her mother. And other louder voices, that formed no words. “Jake?” She tried again. Nothing but voices. She couldn't understand them all. Incoherent, but close. Loud. They were not alone in the hall.
Even Armagnac was nearly hushed by the whispers. Sherry was glad to have her partner.
It was a full four steps before she found a wall to lean on. She'd nearly panicked, worried she would be lost in an endless room forever with the whispers. Where was Jake?

[Area 1] (Event 1)
Normally, Darren didn't mind the shadows. These however, were not normal shadows by as far as he could not see past his nose and normally that wasn't an issue. However, his darkvision was completely inactive at this point, so he had to fumble along blind.
"Such a failure, really, Darren, you could be doing so much better at making friends..." Rosy's voice whispered in his ear and he jumped suddenly, spinning around in place with a frown.
He didn't dare speak though - after the last several strange dreams and just overall strange things that seemed to happen, he took this as par for the course.
"Idiot..."

Runt's voice chased Evan through the halls. He still couldn't tell if he was heading in the right direction and the sound of other people moving around had all but died out. All he could hear was Runt chastising him for not killing that freak he had let escape earlier, a shining moment of his failure as a Hunter and a human being. He couldn't tune it out. All he could do was keep moving and hope he found something to sate the angry voice, soon.

[Area 1 -> Area 4] (EVENT 6)
Darren managed to fumble his way out of the first hallway, make it somehow down the turn and along another corridor without taking anyone else out in the process. There was, he guessed, some benefit in growing up in the labyrinthine coven.
Well to be fair, he'd been force to commit the home to memory quickly so as to figure out the fastest route from two points in order to not get beaten for being slow...
A dull malice laden whisper brushed his ears and he felt his skin crawl...
He clenched his fists, groaning a little as he tried to find the source of the sound. But there was nothing around him..
It came again, louder, more menacing than before.
It took everything in Darren's power not to cower...

So far... so good. It pained Hanna to think that, but her movements so far had been steady and silent. Though she could hear the whispers and shuffles of others, this felt weirdly right to the Death Hunter. She had even quickened her pace, moving with more efficiency than before.
No one seemed to be in her immediate vicinity, and if she kept that out, maybe she could find the exit and be out of here in no time. She'd already managed to clear two corridors, if she finished searching this one maybe she would be the one to find Medea. The idea was both chilling and exhilarating and filled Hanna's mind with images of her triumphantly conquering enemies double her strength and experience.
It helped pass the time.

Still wandering, groping around the halls, and Lex felt as if he were backtracking now. The voice apparently knew it too, and was grating him for it.
"You dirty little idiot. Can't get anywhere without help and guidance from some magical weapon or someone far better than you at everything, can you? How pathetic. You realize you're going the wrong way? Did you leave your sense of direction at the base? A blind man would get out of this place faster than you, you bumbling buffoon.

Passion bloomed in Hanna's chest. Time was passing, she knew, but she had basically been navigating without incident since that tiny beginning error when she ran backwards and then encountered someone. This made her feel more success than perhaps any of her other involvement so far.
In the Sahara, she had done basically nothing, aside from search the coordinates to learn that they were going to the Sahara. It felt good to actually be playing a role. She had spent the day collecting Fear-infused items, setting barrier daggers, locating weapons tablets, and even fighting off insanity creatures. Now, she was doing more legwork, gathering information and searching for Medea.
Never before had she felt so much like a Death Hunter.

Darren had managed to discover that he had somehow gotten himself wedged into a corner, so he forced himself to maneuver around until he finally figured out where the heck he'd made a wrong turn.
His patience, as large as it was, was starting to become a bit strained - but he was glad for the silence in this particular hallway. It was nice to not have to guess if he was really hearing voices or not.
He'd prefer to not - really.

Perhaps it was just paranoia that made him think he heard who he thought it was, but surely that couldn't be. After all, she was already... Jake shook his head, and tried to move, letting Sherry's movement guide his own, trying to focus so that he could hear her, and not lose her.
But then she asked him something, and he paused. What was she trying to... It was a mistake; stopping, that was, and he froze when he felt her let go.
"...Sherry?"
He didn't know if he should move forward and try finding her, or stay put so that she could find her way back to him, and internally debated what he should do.
'Can you not even make your own decisions?' That voice again... 'All you do is drag others into trouble, don't you?'
Jake squeezed his eyes shut, hoping it would also block out the voice. He didn't want to hear anymore; didn't want to think about it. Taking a step forward, he found himself colliding with something, though thankfully, not a wall.
"S-Sherry?"

"Maybe it's a good thing you didn't go with Ami on her recent mission. You'd have just dragged her down with how pathetic of a Hunter you really are. Hell, not even a Hunter. You're just a pathetic person in general. I don't know how she stands you. I don't get how Eva or Stormy can stand you either. No one can stand you."
Lex grunted, trudging forward.
< Lex, I can stand you. You're not that bad. Keep pushing on. I have faith in you. >

The voice was throwing everything off, and Evan could barely tell which was up anymore, let alone which way was out. It got worse when he realized that the voice wasn't Runt's anymore--it was his, mocking him for his inability to do something so simple as walk a straight line.

Behind her, Hanna could hear the shuffle of someone approaching. But she knew better than to meet strangers in the dark. That meant bad things in Maryland just as much as it did here. Remaining silent, the Death Hunter continued to move, maintaining the same light-footed stance that had carried so far.
