[ SUPPLY CLOSET ]

The reaper came back down the stairs, pliers in hand, and made his way toward the room Teddy had unlocked. Halfway there, however, he noticed the branchy boil from earlier who had showed everyone his map emerging from a smaller room. Bren entered the closet once he was gone, peering around at the items inside with wonder. Did the fracs know this room was open? He took a box of bandaids and a flashlight, then slipped out into the hall.

The Leshy frowned at the boarded up door. Unfortunately, the red paint did nothing for him because he didn't know how to read.

He started to pull boards off of it.

And just like that, everyone was off, doing their own thing, searching for unlocked doors or for keys that would let them in. It seemed that Mathias wasn't the only one who had a key already, and he stepped out into the hallway, leaving the dying, or potentially dead, ghoul behind, standing alone near the wall for a time to simply watch as people entered and exited rooms.

The one called Aurel caught his attention, and he wandered over to where the boil had been for a time, to what was apparently a supplies closet. Going inside, he began rifling through the many boxes, his body stiff and sore, still aching from previous wounds and new ones.

Finding band-aids was a relief, and he quickly pocketed a two boxes of those, before moving on. His gaze flicked over the matches and flashlight, and not really thinking about the fact that his natural ability might not work in a place like this, he opted to take one of the boxes of matches instead, not even considering their use beyond, well, fire.

A scalpel and pack of blades finished off what he was capable of holding in his pockets, and he backed out, eyes downcast, but rising quickly when he realized that somebody was prying boards off a door (Aurel, he could see, once he exited the room) and that another, Pachua, was telling him to wait, because he had found a key for another room.

Mathias made his way over to Aurel, peering at the boards that hew as attempting to pull off, before reaching over to put a hand on his arm.

"Nein. Stop! Might not be safe...." He was trying to skim the words painted on it, while gently attempting to pull the boil back. "Nein, nein, nein. Nicht gut. Are you not reading?"

Amphi's flesh was cold and still; there was no indication of lingering life in her.



"I forgot you can't read." A voice sighed from behind Aurel. If he turned, he would see the Fracs there, ears lowered. "I'll put up recorders next time." It had been about to tell Aurel what the wall said, but it seemed that Mathias was already on it. Pleased, it started to trot away again.

Mathias let out an annoyed sound from the back of his throat when the frac's appeared, turning a red eyed glare on it before it scuttled away. Turning back to the boarded up door, the wolpertinger simply nodded in understanding. Not all liked to or even could read, and that was something he understood, though in this case it could have been a serious problem.

Or it could have been nothing at all.

Mathias hated mind games.

"Is saying, "Don’t ever take a fence down until you know the reason it vas put up!" , vhich could be sehr schlecht or could be nothing but...is reason boards are on door. Do ve really vant to know vhy?"

"I like that you're playing it safe." The Fracs piped up from beside Brenley, sitting in the hallway against the wall. "But have you ever considered that you need to take fate into your own hands to escape?"

"In this place?" Aurel asked as Mathias explained what it said. "It could be nothing. It could be everything. I do not know. I--" He glanced at the door with a frustrated furrow of brows and then right back to Mathias.

"Mathias...right? I am sorry to be meeting you under these circumstances." He'd said it three times now. "...Should we try to go upstairs, maybe?" He didn't know if the other boy wanted to stay on his own, but Aurel didn't mind company.
