Abby concluded that there had to be something wrong with the kid. Maybe going through some sort of phase. Either way, she hated his attitude. It was plain to see by the look on her face. She followed him to the table, hovering around. Sometimes it appeared that she was weighed down by gravity, and others it looked like she could float as she pleased. Her head phased up through the table in front of the boy, along with her shoulders and arms. "You didn't tell me your name, jerk"Might as well follow him around out of spite. It could be a new game to play, he wouldn't be able to address her around other people unless he was fine with looking like a weirdo. She leaned over, a bit curious as to what books he had gathered. He was in the history section, so she already knew he was a giant nerd.

 Matt Alfen Matt saw the look she had, and clearly she thought something was wrong with him, though she wasn't wrong about that, after all that has happened to him, it's not much of a surprise for him to be the way he is. The look in his eyes even showed that he wouldn't even trust the most saintly of saints, that wasn't a look of someone in a phase, it was the look of a person who has been to hell and back many times. "I don't have to tell you my name, because in the end, my name won't matter anyway for this world at some point and go to the next, the same as it's always been." He replied bluntly as he started to look through the pages of the first book. He was already through the thick book within a minute, having memorized the information. He did the same with the other books as well before stacking them up after finishing them. "I see, though there are some differences between this earth and some of the previous ones, it's for the most part the same with the exception of magic being a known thing in the world..." He muttered as he put a hand on his chin in thought. He did notice that she was following around him now, but he decided to just simply ignore her for the time being as he returned the books to the shelves. He then went and got some mathematics books, science books, mechanics books, and technology books and brought them back to the same table he had been sitting in earlier. He started with the science books, and was reading every page as if he was searching for something.

Either he was a complete loon or he was some sort of multiverse traveler. She didn't know if he was looking, but she spoke anyway. "Well…I'd like to know. You're the first person I've ever talked to who talked back"It was obvious she was quite lonely, but she didn't intend on making friends with him. He was too strange, and there was something dark about him. She absently poked at a book, trying to get the cover to flip open. Her hand kept going right through it. She let out a sigh, and watched as he quickly went through each book. She wondered how he was even reading at that speed.

Matt Alfen Matt had been occasionally looking over at her as he read through the science books. "I'm not an interesting person to talk to." He replied with a light sigh after put down the last science book. "Also, my name is Matthew. Anyways, science, as expected hasn't really gone that far.." He added, though the second sentence was more to himself. He then picked up the mathematics books and started speed reading through them before picking up the mechanics books and reading through them. "And I'm pretty sure there are some spirit mediums in Janhall anyway, I'm sure you could find them as better conversation partners." He stated to the ghost girl as he looked at her once again.

Any conversation partner at this point would be nice, so she was quite grateful to even have this little jerk to talk to. Besides, she has never heard of someone crossing into different universes, and that was pretty interesting. Maybe there was a universe in which she was happy, and with her family, going to school like the others. "Tell me about the other worlds", she replied. Mediums….the thought did come to her many times before, but her endless searching didn't bare any fruit before. She could still try, after all, she had time.

Matt Alfen Matt narrowed his eyes a bit at her question, there seemed to be a flash of anger for a moment before disappearing and just the same annoyed look on his face. "They're just Earths that went in similar or different directions in history and civilization or rules that are there in those world but not in this one. For example, there is a world where the main living beings aren't humans, but dogs with no noses. Just think of any story, and there is most likely an Earth that matches up to it." He replied with a somewhat brief explanation as he finished the mechanics books and started the science books. "There is world with monstrous creatures that can't be compared to some of the scariest monsters, there are worlds very similar to this one but with small changes in history or fashion, there are even worlds with technology that is more magical than magic. All uninteresting and worthless worlds." He continued, a tone of spite in his voice as he spoke about it. It was clear that this was not a topic he enjoyed talking about, maybe if he was younger, but definitely not now.

Something as marvelous as seeing every possible world should be exciting, not irritating. As she listened to him describe a few examples, her face dropped. A world of terrible monsters, more gruesome and mean than this world? "That sounds…awful."Well, this conversation shed some light on the boys cold personality. "You were alone?"Although, she felt that she already knew the answer. She took it that he would loath for someone like her to take pity on him, or anyone for that matter, so she tried to hide it on her face. It was hard, as she never had to worry about what she looked like before.

Matt Alfen "You learn to get used to it." Matt replied bluntly with a light shrug when she said that it sounded awful. He let out a light frown at her next question, "In the first two I wasn't... though I wasn't there long enough for it to happen, and in the third I did have a place I trained martial arts. But, after the three years of training there, they had nothing left to teach and I left. I have been wandering through different Earths alone now for the last 7 years, sure, there were people I traveled with, but every time it ended up being a mistake to do. So, yes, I'm alone and I prefer it that way." He replied to her question with a slight anger. But, if one noticed from the story, times he spent doing those things were weird, he couldn't be older than seventeen, but if he had spent 10 years traveling to different worlds, then he would have been seven years old when he arrived to learn martial arts and only ten when he left there. To be betrayed, unable to find his home, attacked, tortured, nearly killed, and who knows what else, it would have been more surprising if he had any trust at all remaining to give people. One could say, this kind of lifestyle is worse than burning in hell.

She had caught onto the strange timeframe, but thought better than to question it. Though she didn't have much of a reference level, she could tell that way of life would take it's toll on someone…and one could see that the boy was traumatized. Her body started to sink underneath the table until she pulled herself back up into the air. It didn't feel good to worry about someone. Abby had dealt with it before, but without being able to communicate or help in any substantial way, it just tore at her. Now, she could probably try, but with a case like this she wouldn't do much good. She didn't even know what to say to him. Wanting to be alone was probably just as bad as having no choice but to be alone. Either way, it's lonely. It made her wonder why he was telling her all of this, if he wanted to be closed off so bad. "Have you ever met me before?"

Matt Alfen Matt watched as she stopped speaking after she was about to say something. It was most likely about the time frame of how long he's been traveling, but he didn't say anything more about it. She then phased under the table, so he took the time to finish reading the books before putting them onto the pile. At that point, she had pulled herself above the table again and thinking before she finally asked another question. "...Have I met you before?" He repeated the question as he closed his eyes and seemed to think about it. "I have. A few times." He replied as he simply as he opened his eyes. "Though, none of them were a ghost." He stated in addition to his reply.

Although it served as a good subject change, this was something that Abby really wanted to know. If Matt knew her in other worlds, then maybe he knows where she lived…and who she used to be. Since he's never met the ghost version of her until now, then he wouldn't know how she died. Not that it matters now. Eager to know more, she asked, "What did I look like?"Being a spectral being, she couldn't see her reflection. She could look down and see her hands and what appears to be pajamas, but that wasn't really telling. It would be nice to know what she looked like, even if she'll never be able to see for herself. Abby also wanted to know what her personality was like when she was alive, if she was happy, if she was fun to be around. She also wanted to know what her parents were like, if she was close to her family or not. She couldn't just fire away with all these questions though. Matthew would no doubt get annoyed and probably even leave. Even if she asked, there was a slim chance that he could give her all the answers.

Matt Alfen Matt raised an eyebrow as she stared at him hard and seemed so eager as she asked her next question. "What you look like? Well, each one look like as you do now, just with a bit more color, and a bit older." He replied as he took out a book of paper from his bag and opened it up and grabbed a pen. He then stared at her for a moment before looking back at the paper and pressed the pen onto the paper, and within minutes, he had drawn a rather detailed drawing of her with an eager look on her face. "This is what you look like." He said as he showed her the well done drawing, but he had already figured at this point that she must have gotten amnesia and probably couldn't remember anything.

With wide eyes, she looked at the drawing of a girl, not recognizing her at all. Though the picture itself didn't resonate with her, she realized this was the first time she had seen physical proof that she exists. That validation struck something. Though she was a bit disappointed that seeing herself didn't suddenly make her remember anything, like it would in the movies. She had a feeling that she'll never really remember her past, but it could just be pessimism. Being negative comes easily. It did feel good, however, to know that she wasn't floating around like a gruesome mess. The girl in the picture was pretty, not scary at all, at least in her opinion. After a few moments of looking at it, she smiled. "Thank you, Matthew"

Matt Alfen Matt noticed that there was no recognition of a drawing of herself that she was looking at. But, it did seem to help her come to terms with something at the very least, at least that was how he saw it when she suddenly thanked him. "Don't mention it. And I mean that literally, don't even mention it." He stated as he let the paper fall onto the table. If anything, he would probably tear it up and throw it away. "Well, now that you know what you look like, will you stop watching and talking to me? Go find a dragon or that midget who runs the bookstore. They could easily talk to you." He stated coldly with a sigh as he got up with the books and brought them back to the bookshelves. He then looked at some other books and began pulling them out to read as well.

"Ack, I almost forgot you were a jerk for a second there! Thanks for the reminder"She was using a sarcastic tone of voice, but it might be hard to convey with no sound reaching the boy. Though he wasn't friendly and clearly didn't want her company, Abby wanted to spend more time with him. There was a lot more she wanted to ask. "I could, but they don't know anything about me like you do"She floated alongside him as he gathered more books, a sly smile forming on her face. "And…you can't make me leave"
