if you make a mistake in your post, such as forgetting to roll or rolling the incorrect amount, or the wrong type, do not delete your post! just mark it as faulty and continue! thanks.

Quote:
If you chose 1):
The snowy top road yields some intense wind - fortunately, it's in your favour! You glide across the snow and around some abandoned scuttlebuggies on the road, and gain some nice momentum when the path suddenly drops down because of a collapse in the road. Wait, what? Gain one point.

If you chose 2):
The icy bottom road leads directly into the construction zone. Soft lights lead the way as you skate along on the cold ground, but soon the ice runs out and you're forced to walk. It's too late that you realize that this bottom road is under construction for a reason - a collapse from the top road onto the first floor has essentially created a cave-in, and now you have to backtrack! Dang. Lose two points.

If you chose 3):
Making quick work of the fence and any semblance of self preservation, you hop over the barrier and onto the truck's flat container. Once you clear the makeshift ramp of the truck you skid and slide, careening down the cliff side - landing in a huge pile of fresh powder below. When you look up, surprise! The lights of the Boardwalk seem even closer now. Looks like you've found an impressive shortcut! Gain two points.

If you chose 4):
You can barely resist throwing your hands up in the air in frustration and trudge down the median without bothering to re-seat yourself on the sled. It is cold, it is treacherous - whose idea was it to put Bloodfest in the winter, anyway? Your mutterings manage to distract you for a while as you slowly make your way back to the course. Keyword: slowly. Lose one point.

Next Choice:

All signs of the city ahead are becoming whited out with the thick curtains of snow falling on Old Hemisect. The onset of a thick blizzard is hard to ignore for the most prepared troll, and a surprise storm in the middle of the Bloodfest games (in Old Hemisect no less!) makes it rather difficult for intrepid racers. You're finding it hard to feel your extremities in the cold, but you need to make a decision now or suffer the consequences. What plan of action do you take?

1) Forge ahead on your sled! There's no point in losing speed now; the sooner you get back to civilization (and the finish line) the better.
2) Try to find shelter! You'll definitely lose some time by veering off track, but if you backtrack you figure there's sure to be a building that will accommodate you.
3) Wait out the storm. If you try to go anywhere, you'll probably get lost. Might as well hunker down and wait until this whole thing blows over.
4) Take it slow, but don't stop moving. Maybe you're better off walking.

I chose option 1 : Forge Ahead!
My score is: -3 (+2 points for a new sled. -1 for missed round) = -2

Despite the boost of the speed that the totally awesome snow-sled v.2 had given to her, Milieu was still in the back of the pack. Heck, it seemed like she was barely moving. Maybe it was due to that nap? Well, nap was't quite the word. More like "being knocked out by a falling piece of trash", but hey. Semantics, right?

As the snow grew heavier the world became smaller and smaller. Fear clutched at her chest. A blizzard was coming and within minutes the white out was complete. There was no way to tell where she was going, or coming. She could pause, but that meant getting further behind. Getting off the sled was a bad idea too. So instead she kept going, hoping that pushing through the snow was the best idea.

Hazzan was not happy about having been snowed-in, and with the worsening blizzard, a smarter troll would probably have waited for the storm to pass. Taking stock of her options, the tealblood elected to continue on foot - staying on her sled had gotten her into enough trouble, but she refused to stop moving and give up!

Well, s**t. Sinter trudged back from the dead end of the construction site, back onto the main path, sat down on his sled, and scooched himself forward until he was sliding again.

As far as mistakes went, at least this one didn't result in grievous bodily harm. Troll games were not for the faint of heart.

And yet Sinter was here anyway, sledding onward. Pessimism aside, Sinter felt good about participating. If he made it to the bottom unscathed, this whole debacle might actually end up being a good story. Sinter pushed forward with his hands. Being a "good" story was debatable at this point, but it would certainly be better if he wasn't last place!

The elements seemed to kick back in response to Sinter's second wind. The snow whipped up and Sinter found himself wishing for goggles to complete his winter ensemble. At least it wasn't sand.

The thought was not as comforting as Sinter would have liked. He pushed off again more forcefully. If the desire to place wasn't enough of a motivator to get back into town, nature itself seemed to be cheering Sinter on.

Name: Alifax Bunsem
Blood colour: Red
Submission: So...Alifax was not a man of romance. And he certainly didn't have anyone vying for his own red quadrant. And yet...well, he'd had an idea, and he had ability, and he had the ability to distinguish himself as a completely useful member of society outside of his, ah, rare talents.

He felled the beast like a practiced fighter, and - well, if the act of skinning and de-boning the beast was ungraceful, it was fine, because Alifax was quite skilled at slicing the meat and cutting from it a symbol of one of the cornerstone quadrants of Alternian society. He picked up the little red sucker from the ground, to fulfill the rules requirement, and also plucked a recognizeably edible weed with a yellow flower from the side of the road. There, he thought with satisfaction. It was an excellent gift for it proved that Alifax had the ability to provide for his hypothetical quadrantmate, and the ability to distinguish edible food from inedible food. He could cook, too, in theory, but to be honest Alifax was not especially skilled at creating fire except through the use of his powers - and while his powers were becoming increasingly public knowledge, he was still reluctant to broadcast them to the world at large. At any rate, rare meat could be a delicacy.

"Things seemed to be going so well for you. I guess you were just a little too ambitious, huh?"

Ganyma stopped what he was doing. He could see his breath as he stopped, hands still resting on his snowtroll's midsection.

"Well, a word of advice: save yourself the humiliation and drop out now. You're bound to lose anyway."

Ganyma whirled. He didn't seem angry -- the malice behind the greenblood's taunts was lost on him. The little troll smacked one mitten into the other, thick brows furrowed with intense drive. "No!" He nearly shouted.

"You can never be too ambitious! In fact, I bet you can make it even better this time!" He roared. "Just you wait, you....!"

Ganyma realized he wasn't acquainted with anyone around him, the greenblood having popped up out of -- wait a second. Ganyma stared at the heckler and narrowed his eyes. It was the same kid from the dance!

"Hey, I remember you! How could you say that? Maybe you should put your uh, talk where your mouth is, and make that snowman! Yeah!" Ganyma said, satisfied. He had lost some steam (and maybe some of his point), but he managed to avoid a tirade. He stomped a foot on the ground.

After a moment, Ganyma leaned over the ties of his little plot and whispered to Sinter conspiratorially.

"Don't worry about him. He likes to see people fight, is all... You can do it!"

Ganyma returned to his torso, which had bulked out to an impressive degree. Dang... It gleamed in the moonlight. Ganyma's cheeks were a bright teal.

I'm rolling a: Torso take three
Rolls left today: 1
Rump Score: 85
Torso Score: 13 + 24 = 37
Head Score:

Sinter flinched at the first sound of movement from beside him. Sure enough, it was laughter at Sinter's expense. He'd been afraid of that. He tried his very best to ignore it and keep working on his snowball, but it was difficult as the stranger kept talking. Sinter didn't want to look up.

His attention was finally stripped from his snowball as a different voice spoke up. Sinter's head whipped to the side to see the tealblooded kid from earlier. He seemed... passionate? Sinter was confused, but that was better than being distracted by hurt feelings.

This kid was standing up for him! Sinter managed to catch up to the situation in time to not be (too) startled when the big kid leaned down next to him and (loudly) whispered a few more words of encouragement.

"Y-You... you really..." Sinters words barely made it through his scarf. This guy was totally serious! Sinter felt his face heat up and his eyes prickle.

Giving up on words, Sinter shot up from his kneeling position, hands on his hips, and nodded in sharp affirmation to Ganyma. Kursha went completely forgotten.

"Yeah!" Exclaimed Ganyma. "You show them! That's the way to handle people who don't believe in you. You gotta show 'em wrong by doin' your best!"

He had begun rolling up his head. Ganyma took a moment to size up the head. He was on a roll now (ba dum tish) but he didn't want his head to get too big (ba dum tish) or it's bite him in the rump later (bad dum tish). He set to work, still relaying words of encouragement as he formed the small ball.

"'Specially if you're the underdog! That's just all the more reason to be great!"

Head Score:

Sinter tried not to gape too openly at this kid. Was he for real? He was like a character out of, like, Fiduspawn or something. He was practically a highblood (relative to Sinter), so what was he even talking to him for?

Sinter wasn't sure if he believed what Ganyma was saying at all... but he definitely wanted to.

Sinter's snowball was now large enough again that he didn't have to squat to roll it. When did that happen? Sinter looked from his snowball, up to Ganyma, and back again like he'd had something to do with it. Well yeah, a little. Sinter's tiny grin was lost under the layers of his scarf.

Scooping his mittens under the hefty sphere, Sinter haphazardly swung his snow-torso onto its rump.

Sinter peered around the two-thirds of his snowtroll. "Th-Thanks!" He shouted to Ganyma.

Kursha caught the redblood's flinch and his grin broadened. While he doubted that the redblood would actually withdraw, he might lose focus in his work if Kursha continued to heckle him. It would take just a bit more prodding.

As Kursha opened his mouth to shoot-off another ill-intentioned remark, another voice piped up. Looking over, Kursha was startled to see it was the tealblood. He rolled his eyes at the other troll's defence. It was hard to believe that he was hearing such sentimental nonsense come out of this guy. Then suddenly the tealblood was claiming to know Kursha. Kursha looked back at him curiously.

He had seemed familiar. From where though? Disregarding the fact that the tealblood and redblood were now whispering, Kursha thought long and hard. At last it came to him.

"Blue-suit! The security troll!" He exclaimed. Kursha packed some more snow onto his torso. "Aw, don't be that way," he said, laughing. "I was just teasing. Besides, it is a competition." His expression turned sly. "Are you sure it's a wise idea to help out the opponent like that?"

Larque

I chose option # : 1
My score is: 0

Angered by the faulty shortcut back in the tunnel, the storm that had begun to whip up was not as daunting to Larque as it should have been. He'd been doing so well, too, only to make one silly decision that landed him in the unfavorable situation of having to drag his sled all the way back to the beginning of the tunnel. WELL. He knew he couldn't win them all, but the sting of defeat was still there; if he kept on, he might be able to beat the storm and still have a chance. Reassuring himself with such thoughts, he pushed ahead, squinting against the wind.

Zeffer

I chose option # : 4
My score is: -2

Finally, a bit of good luck! After sliding down the truck container, Zeffer let out a yelp, surprised to be dumped down into another snow pile, and laughing raucously as he struggled to right himself. The blueblood wasn't able to get much farther, unfortunately, as the wind began to whip up a heavy blanket of snow. The stormy activity was no deterrent, however. Rather, Zeffer reveled in it, despite the cold, and merely pulled up his hood and adjusted his goggled. He'd endured far worse than this! Not wanting to waste the time he'd made with the last shortcut, he lifted up his trusty disk and began to trudge through the snow. No point in trying to slide when the wind would blow him off course, and moving around would probably help a little in preventing him from freezing solid.
