I live in Fukui-ken, which is part of the problem, but I'm not totally without resources. They have chocolate here, just not candy bars or anything involving raisins or hazelnut. I've also learned that the chocolate you get here fails when trying to make smores. Oh, and the mashmallows have have syrupy flavored fillings, which is also kind of a bummer until you realize that there are also ones with chocolate fillings. There's not shortages of sweets, just the ones that I miss the most from back home. They have some American shops in Kyoto and Osaka, about 3 or 4 hours south of me. I'm planning on going down to Osaka in about a month, so I'm going to take a backpack and stock up. I can't take a larger suitcase because it won't fit in the capsule hotel. blaugh Anyway, you really don't have to send me anything. I just get a little homesick at times, but apparently that's common for most foreigners like me during the winter, especially if you live in the middle of nowhere. The middle of nowhere is beautiful and picturesque during spring, summer, and fall, but it's extremely isolated and lonely during the winter. But, soon, the snow will melt, and the sakura season will begin! wheeheart

The problem is that I can tell you with confidence that there are fewer than 100 Americans in my prefecture. That being said, they don't really have any American ethnic shops anywhere. But, it might also be an advantage, because I have to adopt Japanese foods and customs out of sheer necessity whereas all of those big city people can choose to live like Americans if they want. razz

The problem is that I can tell you with confidence that there are fewer than 100 Americans in my prefecture. That being said, they don't really have any American ethnic shops anywhere. But, it might also be an advantage, because I have to adopt Japanese foods and customs out of sheer necessity whereas all of those big city people can choose to live like Americans if they want. razz
And yet, you get no chocolate on valentines days, whereas I live near good ol Hershey town where I can go get a 10 pound chocolate bar ( i won't nor have I ever gotten one)

It's not all bad. There's White Day on Feb 14th. Plus, when I got to school today, I found pudding on my desk with a cute little note from a female teacher, thanking me for the chocolate. :purin: However, now that I think about it, I haven't gotten any "thank you" sweets from the male teachers, though I have gotten my fair share from the female ones. confused
I've had the same username since 2005. You'd think I'd be ready for a change eventually, but I've had no such inclinations. I guess I'm just a creature of habit. xd
Anyway, now that we have some tekteks, why don't we go ahead and start brainstorming our plot and who will do the art and junk. biggrin
