She watched intently as the numbers spun, waiting for the magical combination which would name her a 'winner'. 4...4...3. Lost. Despite herself the fae smirked. Obviously it would be bad business to have winning be the norm. In fact, the odds of winning any of these games were no doubt astronomically high. However, it did not seem to be at any cost...well, except for time. Which was something Niday found herself in high supply of at the moment. Slipping through the crowd, she followed a rather noisy clicking. The source appeared to be a circle of red and black. Interesting. "I'd like...black please." The midnight pae spoke softly, the faintest of smiles still dancing on her lips.
Click...click...click...Red. Even on the game with a seemingly high chance of winning, still it came out as a loss. Her smile increased as she thought about the mechanics of it. Perhaps she was simply unlucky? Slipping silently from the crowd around the roulette, Niday's gaze caught one more intriguing game. A table, with a fairy sitting rather smugly behind. She had never played a game with cards, but today seemed to be a good day to do firsts. She moved towards him. "Deal me in?"
OOC: Well that didn't change blaugh Re-rolling for Zana now @_@
EDIT: OOC: Zana's didn't change either, so I'll leave all rp posts as is rofl
BIC: Well, that was over very quickly. Niday nodded in a thanks as she pulled away from the table. Really, they were simply time-consuming activities. They had no real value as they took nothing and typically gave nothing. But for now...she'd stay a while longer. Perhaps there was another game to be found that evening? With that thought, Niday began aimlessly drifting through the room, curiously examining each game she passed.
The night wore on, Pae'il drifted off to bed, and eventually the casino closed up and sent the last stragglers on their way. Everyone needed to get some sleep before morning came, as there was so much more to do. Breakfast began being served just after sunrise in the dining hall, open to any who were up that early. About mid-morning, the fairies started organizing the groups to go ashore.
The cruise ship itself was too large to actually land on the island without irreversibly beaching itself, so the ship had set anchor in the relative 'shallows' near their first stop. Smaller boats were prepared to be lowered from the side to shuttle the Pae'il to the shore and back.
There were two primary choices offered to the vacationers. The first, a scuba diving excursion around the shallows of the island, guided by the Aquatl fairies. The promise of exotic fish, possible lost underwater ruins, and even treasure enticed the more adventurous Pae'il to take part. For those looking for a more relaxing vacation, the beach is open for sunbathing or play, and further back, palm trees offer shade at the edge of a small patch of vegetation. One couldn't call it a forest, but there may be some small types of natural wildlife about. Pae'il are welcome to spend their time here relaxing if they prefer.
Scuba Diving Prompt
Those interested in the diving excursion are directed towards the shallows at the end of the beach once leaving the boats. "Come along! We're heading out soon! No late-comers!" A cheery little Avalon fairy beckons to the Pae'il, pointing them towards the water. In the shallows, a number of Aquatl, the aquatic equivalents to the normal Avalon fairies, are tending to the land Pae'il in attendance. A temporary blessing is granted to the land Pae'il, creating a magical bubble around their heads to allow them to breathe while underwater. The spell will last for two hours, or until the Pae'il surfaces again. The Aquatls will be accompanying and guiding the Pae'il below, offering information as well as aid in case of any issues or needs to recast the bubble spell, were someone to surface early and wish to return.
One of these Aquatls was speaking to the group as the rest went about their preparations. "We have a special experience available for you all today! I don't suppose we have any native Aernyn here today from the sea?" He barely paused for a breath before continuing. "We have had the fortune of discovering some of the lost ruins from the Aernyn capital that once lay at the bottom of the sea, now buried beneath the Isle. The currents, stronger than usual this year, have carried some of the lost treasures from there and scattered them throughout the sea," he said with special emphasis on the 'treasures' bit. "Some of those artifacts lie around this very isle, and we're inviting the Pae'il of Telrunya to help with recovering these lost treasures. We'll be around to look over anything you find to give you more information on it, so you can know just what it is you're taking home. Now, the spells only last for a couple hours, so as soon as we're all ready, we'll get to looking! Best of luck, hunters!"
---
Pae'il may now explore beneath the waves with the Aquatl nearby. There are remains of what used to be towers and walls made of coral, now broken and lying half buried in the sand and sporting colonies of oysters in scattered patches. Land Pae'il will not be able to speak and be heard beneath the waves, so they will have to rely on hand signals. Naiad, of course, may function as normal. There may be a special item to be found amongst the ruins, so be creative with your searches and take a look around. Other items that may be found are listed below.
Broken spears and spearheads made of coral Nets - possibly tattered in places, but woven of tough kelp Crab traps Jewelry - simple pieces made of kelp, stones, bone, or even teeth Fishbone combs Beaded armbands Children's toys - simple seaweed dolls, etc.
Relaxing on the Beach Prompt
Less adventurous Pae'il may spend their time relaxing on the beach. Some of the Avalon fairies have set up umbrellas and chairs for the guests and a large cabana tent where they are serving drinks and some simple beach food. The grill is already smoking, and something delicious is cooking. The sands are clear and stretch on some distance inland, as well as along the water until they disappear with the curve of the shoreline. Further inland, the palm trees grow thicker together with some foliage growing beneath in the shade. It seems relatively quiet and overhead, coconuts hang from the palm's branches.
(Pae'il should make their way to the boats, and make clear which group they are wanting to join once on the island. Then, follow the prompt for that area.)

It hadn't been long since his winning of the wine that Hjortur had to excuse himself for the night, the burning in his skin proving too strong for even his desire to enjoy himself. After arriving in his room, he simply placed his wine in a safe spot for storage and entered into the provided tank, quickly loosing himself to sleep.
The morning came slowly through his dreams, memories, it seemed, of his childhood swimming around with his parents and their stories. Tales of the sea, of their old home, lost, it seemed, crushed by the continent. He personally had no memories of it, having been born in the lake, but his heritage could be seen by his size and fins. Ah... how nostalgic.
Even more so would be the treats provided for consumption at the breakfast hall, even if they were prepared in an unusual way: cooked. No matter, there was little these land pae'il could do to ruin the delectable taste of fish, crustaceans, and shellfish. There were more than one native to the air who looked to his choice of a morning meal with confusion, but it was natural to him. Actually, it was strange how few naiads were present, as he expected there to be more with how much water was nearby to soak in.
That was how he expected to spend his day: lazing about, soaking in the sunlight.
He had every intention of this even as he joined the ships being lowered down (they insisted he join with the others rather than simply diving in). It wasn't until they reached shore and he overheard one of the aquatls speak, heard that it was where his parents, even him by proxy, had likely come from. How... interesting... Eh, a fish shouldn't just laze about the land, should he? There would probably be some nicer places for him down there.
Turning to join the others, he smiled as he dived in, his legs quickly returning to their finned form as he turned around to look to the land pae'il awkwardly descending the surface. He waved, curious if any would care to join him in his wandering.

Vash slept well, he had returned to his room after his fun in the casino and had stashed his prizes away in his bag and then crashed into his bed. Come morning he discovered there were activities he could participate in. The idea of the underwater adventure appealed to him, was bound to be plenty of pretty ladies, and maybe even a couple damsels in distress. He shed his red coat and made his way into the water. Vash didn't stray far from the crowd, he wanted to be close in case he could be of help to someone.
He ran his fingers through the sand pulling up handfuls of it letting is sift back to the water's floor for a good period of time though still distracted watching others around him. His fingers eventually snagged on something that felt like a rope, and he gave it a pull, it didn't move far but more of the sand around him shifted and he dropped the roping in surprise. Vash looked around him to the unsettled sand noting the bumps that had started to surface. He ran his hands over more of the sand dislodging it from it's home. After a few minutes he discovered it was a net cool he thought to himself and pulled up the net into his hands, it wasn't huge and it was tattered along one side like it had been broken from a much larger net. He moved over to a naiad to show him what he'd found with a smile
Lila had kept to herself for the most part, she had steered clear of the casino. In the morning, with the help of a fairy who knew she'd not hear the announcements after she had missed most of what had been happening, she decided she wanted some sun and relaxation. She snagged up a towel and headed for where the fairy had indicated she needed to go to board a Small boat to make her way to the island

Looking up and over at Vash, Hjortur was happy that someone had noticed his invitation to come closer, even if all they were showing him was a silly ol' net. They must not be used to the sea, huh? Or perhaps he was just too used to those sort of things... No matter!
Turning and waving for the other to follow him, he swam closer to the reef wreckage, slipping (rather easily due to his being a naiad) between some gaps between the stones. He was there for (more than) a few moments before he returned, multiple armbands in his hand. "You should come check it out down here! There's quite a bit more where these came from," he said as he handed Vash one of them, a silver one with plain pearl beads, motioned towards himself, and turned to return under.

Wordlessly Vash followed the naiad to the edge of the reef wreckage's edge and raised an eyebrow when the male slipped inside and out of sight. He tried to peer through he same hole that the guy went in but saw pretty much nothing. What was this guy after? Was there a pretty lady in there? He had to back up fast when Hjortur reappeared so he didn't get headbutted by the naiad.
Armbands? That's what he was after? Vash turned the armband over in his hands examining it while still holding his piece of netting. It was fine work indeed but what would he do with it, besides maybe give it to a pretty girl. When the naiad returned into the reef he tried to follow having to stop a few times to readjust his positioning so he could fit.

Aulii had stayed up at the casino for most of the night, but unfortunately feats of luck did not seem to be his strong suit and he had taken away only minor victories. It had been fun, none the less though. The angel completely slept through the offered breakfast, normally he might be awake at this time for the morning surf, but since that wasn't likely to happen this morning, he had taken the opportunity to sleep in... and well he had stayed up rather late.
When Aulii did wake up, he decided that he should probably take his first day pretty easy, he was on vacation after-all. He took to the shore and smiled at the sight of fairies serving drinks up to those who were already there. The smell of the grill caused his nostrils to flare up and his stomach to growl, the angel was now realizing that he did miss breakfast and he was rather hungry, seemed like sticking to the shore was just the right choice. The male didn't bring his surfboard with him this time, and quickly set himself up lounging in the sand, requested a drink and that he be notified as soon as the food was ready. Today, he would sit in the lap of luxury. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dysmas, in the boredom he experienced from hiding in his cabin for most of the night, woke up bright and early. He headed out onto deck, relatively quiet because most other pae were still sleeping. While swimming was something he could do any time that he wanted (and he did), Dysmas still had not done much swimming in the ocean and had definitely never been off in this direction. The idea of exploring ancient underwater ruins drew him in, and if there were underwater ruins it seemed likely to him that they might be related to one or both of his heritage. Perhaps a ruin from ancient angel pae, long buried underwater or maybe an abandoned naiad home from ages before.
Dysmas wandered around the deck, watching the boat travel across the water, until breakfast was ready, and then after joined the group leaving for the island and scuba diving. Dysmas did not need assistance with being able to breathe underwater, it was something he could already do, but it might have been unusual when his legs didn't change like the other naiads on the trip. He was conscious of this, and hung towards the back of the group while everyone was getting settled. As Dysmas listened to the Aquatls speak to the group he grinned in excitement. He was a direct descendant of the Aernyn!
Once the speech was over, Dysmas took off quickly to see what he could find. He swam very quickly, feeling right at home in the water, even if he wasn't as used to the ocean currents which did throw him off a little bit at first. Dysmas swam to the depths of the area they were in and combed his hands through the sand as he glided along the bottom. At one point, his finger snagged on something and Dysmas paused and drew his hand upward to see what he had found, a bracelet. It was beautiful, but not necessarily in a feminine way, he kind of liked it. Dysmas held onto it and continued.
At one point he came across a structure that still stood for the most part, but was crumbling apart just as everything else and had no visible entrance due to a cave in. Dysmas swam in circles around it a few times, looking for a way in. There wasn't any. He stopped in front of what used to be the entrance, and now had a large chunk of coral blocking it off. The male tread water in front of the entrance for a moment, trying to decide if he could move it, and if he should. This was the most in tact structure he had seen while he had been swimming, if any structure were to have something in it that hadn't been carried off by the sea currents, it was this one.
Dysmas finally resolved to attempt to get inside. He attempted to budge the chunk of coral, but it only moved slightly. Dysmas took a deep 'breath' and pulled and pushed on it, giving a few good kicks to help him along, it finally moved just enough that he might be able to slip in. The male tucked in his water wings as tight as possible, they were going to be what kept him from making it through the small opening. He managed to push himself through, but not before seething in pain as a sharp edge of the coral cut into his side leaving a 2-3 inch long gash. Dysmas was in though.
[Aulii is at the beach, Dysmas is scuba diving and taking an armband and exploring a structure]
Waiting under the water for his new buddy to join him, Hjortur was pretty quick about making sure he was noticed as he weaved around and in between the pieces of wreckage. He only stopped to turn around every once in a while to make sure that he hadn't gone too far ahead and left Vash stranded behind. It took easily 3 times as long to get to where he wanted to be, because of his company, but when they arrived it was a hole, pieces of debris scattered around and faint streams of light flowing in.
Here, again, he paused, grinning. "Look at all of these!" he cheered, motioning to the various things glittering in the light. He has a feeling that this might have belonged to the room of a highly-esteemed female or a tradesmen of sorts.

Niday had spent the night in her room after the intriguing time spent in the casino. She hadnt won anything, but she hadn't lost anything but time. As she walked onto the deck, her eyes caught the fairies explaining the activities. Diving eh? Couldn't hurt. She stood in line to meet at the shallows before getting her own air 'helmet' and submerging herself in the water. Deep down, a long crevace split the sea bottom, not too far from where the other pae milled about. Interesting indeed! She tried to swim towards it, but the deeper she got the.more her body resisted the rising pressure. hmmm.... the crafty night fae looked around, looking for something to weigh her down. It was then that a very large object suddenly moved into her view, startling the female. What it was exactly confounded her. Four limbs, no fingers, and a strange shell on it's back. It was no fish. All too soon she noticed it dive towards the crevace, and she rushed to catch up. Almost. Almost! Got it! Her fingers clasped it's shell, pulling her down with it. But it was most certainly spooked by her intrusion, and took off full speed. Right into the deep, dark hole.
When Malloren had been presented with either laying on the beach or swimming in water...her choice was so obvious a toddler would figure it out. The beach was warm, and she finally had the chance to relax. She stretched out in the sun, momentarily forgetting her earlier breakdown. This was one of her favorite things to do afterall, and nothing could hamper her mood.now.
He was glad when the naiad had stopped swimming, un-hooking from edges of rocks he was squeezing through was becoming a pain. The visibility wasn't the greatest at their destination dispite the faint streams that snuck through into the area. He could hear the naiad speak and nodded his reply, landing softly on the sand he crouched down to run his fingers through the sand. He picked up an odd comb and turned it over in his hands motioning to it and looking between it and the naiad.

Having been looking through the ruins on his own, he was a bit slow to notice Vash's motioning to him. It wasn't until he glanced up to see how he was doing before he saw a look of frustration. Moving over, he blinked. "Oh, wow, that's one pretty comb you've found. Were there any others in the area? I wouldn't mind bringing home one or two..." or five. Grinning, he motioned behind him. "I could show ya where some jewelry is in return; might be just the perfect thing to impress a beauty or two..." a wink, "What do ya say?"

As much as exploring down here had been a fun adventure, the lack of being able to talk wasn't fun, so he was glad when the naiad finally had noticed him. The guy's enthusiasm for the item however baffled Vash, it just baffled him what was so special about it? He shrugged and motioned the floor of the lake a few feet away and indicated he'd just run his fingers in the sand, he had no idea if there were more. He did however like the idea of seeing the jewels so moreover that was why he did show the male where he'd found the comb.
