Emma continued kissing Herald for about another minute before pulling back and looking at him. "There, we are even now." she told him before quickly laughing as she smiled at him.

Emma sighed "You are so dense sometimes..." she said with another laugh "You kissed me, I kissed you. We are even." she told him as she nuzzled her face against the side of his as she began to relax again.

Never Again...Herald processed what she said and began to laugh.He was beginning to understand why his future self had chosen Emma. "I don't do evens. I always win," he told her as he cupped her cheeks in one of his hands and turned her head gently back towards him, giving her another kiss. Will I be bound in chains

Emma grinned again before Herald kissed her once more. She kept her arms wrapped around him and kissed him back, seeming like she was enjoying this moment the two of them were having.

Never Again...Herald continued to hold her as they continued kissing quietly. He felt like there were sparks going off in his stomach but he was enjoying every minute of it. He held on to her tight, wondering how he had missed this. Will I be bound in chains

After a while, Emma pulled away again to look at him "I take it you won't let me win at all then?" she asked with a small smirk as she stared down at him.

Never Again...Herald shook his head. "I never let my opponent outdo me," he told her. Had he just told a joke? What was going on with him? He stopped worrying about it, focusing on the present. Will I be bound in chains

Never Again...Herald continued kissing Emma....until an old, familiar thought crept into his head. What if he lost her? He couldn't get too close to her. What if she turned on him or died or was captured or...? He stopped kissing her and let out a sigh, laying his head back down on the pillow. He took his hand out of her hair and ran it through his own, a frustrated look coming over his face. Will I be bound in chains

Another frown appeared on Emma's face when Herald seemed to act strange again "What is it?" she asked as she moved and put her head on her hands again, her ears went back slightly as she gave a worried look towards him.

Never Again...Herald clenched his teeth as he thought about what to tell her, if anything. "If you begin to care about someone....you give them the power to destroy you," he told her after a moment, not looking at her. His statement was simple, but summed up most how he felt about depending on people, emotionally or otherwise. Will I be bound in chains

Emma's expression changed then "So you... don't trust me then?" she asked as she looked at him, obviously hurt. She looked away then and moved so she could get off of him.
