When Axel stepped out of the shrubs, Zill was impressed at his ability to conceal himself. He rather thought that it was probable that he was a member of a dark guild but that lead to the question of 'who is he here for?'. His ability to hide himself was no feat of small skill so getting in a fight with him would not be something desirable. The other two looked like young wizards that would not have had much skill to warrant a hunter unless Redder had set a town ablaze. That left Zill to believe that he might have been there in an attempt to assassinate Miaki which would mean that with how calm of a presence he was presenting that he was either immensely powerful or needed the surprise to inflict a lethal blow. Zill was willing to put his money on the second as he seemed hesitate but unwilling to reveal anything about himself as his silence left things to question. "Greetings sir. Sorry if I offended you and you overheard what I said" He spoke to Axel as calm as he could as he rather did not want to be in the middle of any battle that he could not control the situation. He also was fairly sure that he was not the target unless the guy was a simple thief and completely oblivious to who all was there which would not be a hard opponent so it would be more plausible to plan for at least an assassin if he was not also someone who just used the forest as a method to pass and he was just trying to avoid them as Zill was.
Zill had little to say to Crystal as he was listening and had nothing else to comment on her past except maybe that the lack of members would explain why it was so abandoned. Crystal also seemed to be in a state of turmoil as talking about a lost one was not something most people wanted to talk about so he remained even more quiet towards Crystal at that point, nodding his head to her comments with a curiosity as to what her father was like if even she knew nothing of him. He had yet again thought of it being possible that she knew the look alike as she was suppose to be a duplicate but as a fake human it would be near impossible to replicate the memory of the original and the 'father' might have been the maker and kept himself unseen so as to not effect the memories and abandoned her to avoid death if she went ballistic.
The numbers to Crystal's words seemed to have been reversed and he thought that she might have meant seven hours of sleep and had gone on three before but was unsure as to why it was said in such a manner. He was thinking that she had been lacking a day's worth of sleep and was oblivious to the actual number of missed days rest as seven days might have killed most people either by body chemistry imbalances or just tripping over something and breaking their neck.
Suddenly some snapping of branches and the rapid falling of a kid could be heard as he decided to try and jump closer and started falling rapidly into their presence at an angle as he finally came to a stop at their feet. His words as he got up made him think of what Zill himself was doing as he looked at Toshi Kida. "Were you trying to sleep in a tree and just made a flying leap of faith as it snapped out from under you? I sleep in tree's all the time in armor and do just fine..." He said as he trailed off to wonder why he would be sleeping in a tree if he was capable of getting a room at an inn.
The look on his face as Toshi looked at Redder was odd. It was like he had not seen strange magic wielders before or something. "Why would you ask such a thing? Were you not here when she took it off herself?" He asked as he seemed to have been there a while as he did not seem capable of stealth to the degree of Axel so it was highly unlikely that he had been moving during that time. His next question left him puzzled but then realized that when he had moved to stand near Crystal, he had stepped in front of Miaki to his stance. "I think he brought her to meet his guild captain." Zill said as he took another step to the side so that Toshi could see that there was actually four people in the small group that was standing there. He had nothing to say about Fairy Tail as he had yet to join the guild. Toshi seemed even more paranoid than Zill and that is saying something as Zill was taught to always be ready for the worst because of Murphy's law, anything that could go wrong would and the more prepared you were for it, the less likely it was to happen. When Toshi had knocked against the armor, it was rather odd to see as Zill still thought that Toshi was acting strange to see wizards. "about seventy percent of everyone in Fiori is a wizard so that is not too hard to guess that seven out of ten people are wizards in some form or manner... Where are you from kid?" He asked, calling him a kid even though he was probably around the same age as Zill was only twenty two. Zill normally walked and thought too but Toshi's level of examination was agitating to him as it looked like he was some little child running circles around him. "we can talk about it, but could you please stop walking around us in circles and pace or something else?" He said as Toshi passed in front of them again and he held up his hand as if pointing at him with all of his finger tips. There was a short flurry of energy from the tips of his fingers from where his hand was to Toshi's head. He had basically put his hand on the top of his head with about the same amount of touch as you would pat a child on the head. To the others, it probably would seem that to someone wearing armor and walking around slowly like Zill seeing someone walk around so much made him feel old. It was more or less that he was not made to feel old by Toshi walking around as much as it was that Toshi reminded him of little children playing at a toddlers playground as he walked by.

Redder heard a snapping of branches and quickly turned into the direction of that noise. Then, there came a man who examined the group. He said that Redder was lucky finding his guild. This guy maybe is still searching for his guild. Its just a hunch Redder would think. He commented about Redder's hair of flames in which left Redder spacing off. "...What's wrong with my hair?" The fire-hair poked his hair, seemingly unaffected by any sort of burn. He was quite oblivious to the fact that its not everyday you see a man with a strange head of flames tied in two ponytails. Could fire be tied in ponytail? That really shoots logic in the foot. But, he is not the only that has few odd traits though. The woman with him just took off her clothes and wore a bikini in hesitation. And Zill, don't really know much about him.....yet. Either way, Magnolia has its fair share of strange townies and Redder is one of them. The guy asked them if they were going to do anything to Crystal. Redder locked his eyebrows and looked down, slightly blushing again. "Don't get the wrong idea pal. That hasn't even crossed my mind." He shook his head. Toshi, if he was paying attention, would notice a small flame companion hovering beside Redder "Uhmmm...Mister? What guild are you from?" The little flame asked, with a hint of nervousness. He isn't used to meeting new people and often struggles to build the courage to talk to them. Depending on what the man said before, he might of been currently searching for his guild.

➟Toshi turned over to see that there was another stranger just over his shoulder. He hadn't seen him while he was watching from high above the trees. He seems to be the sneaky type, I wonder if he's a wizard too. Toshi didn't really show any interest in this new stranger or really cared to ask, he was enthralled by the Fairy Tail member's hair. When Zill started speaking to Toshi he turned away from Redder's hair so he could focus on the older gentlemen. The young wizard gave Zill a blank expression. From closer up he realized that Zill really wasn't as old as he thought he originally was, his face still had a youthful looking appearance. "As a matter of fact I did." said Toshi as he replied to Zill's first question. "It wasn't wise of me to bring the added weight of my bag on top of the branch. It was a pretty foolish thing to do." Toshi crossed his arms as he stood standing still. His first impulsive reaction was to roll his eyes when Zill had mentioned that he was just fine sleeping in trees with his armor on. The way he phrased it made him seem as though he was bragging, but he most likely wasn't, which is why Toshi held off rolling his eyes. "Well it's good that your a well adjusted camper, but that's not what's really..." Toshi stopped once Zill had revealed to him that there was another female in the group, but she was so quiet that Toshi had no idea what so ever that she even existed. He hadn't heard a single word from her or witnessed her either from the tall tree branch. "Aren't you the invisible mistress?" he thought as he got his first impression of Fairy Tail's guild master. He didn't have a clue who she was really, he couldn't see if she had any guild signs from where he was standing, and he refused to circle the group again just because he didn't feel like it.
When Zill finally began to explain a bit more on the women he listened intently. "So she took off her own clothes? Well I guess I should be the one to apologize, but please look from my point of view and you'll see how odd your situation looked. It was an honest misunderstanding, Toshi knew that. He didn't understand why the women stripped in front of the two men accompanying her but he wasn't going to be too nosey, in her case anyways. Redder's hair was what he intended to focus on, but then Zill got Toshi to refocus on the mystery girl. So she's his guild master, which means she's the guild master of Fairy Tail..." Toshi was holding in his shock, if he didn't know any better he'd think she'd be far too young to be a guild master. He was truth be told, underwhelmed, he didn't think much of her, but appearances could have been deceiving. For all that he knew she could have been one of the ten wizard saints and been all powerful. Toshi tried not to underestimate her, but he couldn't picture her as the leader type. "Hello." he said to her simply. "It's an honor to be in your presence, I'm well aware of Fairy Tail's achievements, whoever left you in charge must have high expectations, as do I." He was very respectful despite his disbeliefs which he quickly countered with facts that kept them in place within his mind. Turning back to Zill he listened carefully once again. When he went on with facts about the percentage of wizards in Fiore he merely shrugged. "I'm from Crocus but I haven't really gotten out much. I see wizards all the time, I grew up with magic, I've just never met a wizard with hair purely made of fire." Toshi didn't like the way Zill had called him a kid. It was annoying, especially when he ran away from home because he was treated as such. The wizard didn't say anything, he just listened to Zill quietly. As Zill went on and asked Toshi to stop moving in circles, which he had already stopped doing, but Toshi respected his request. "I won't do it anymore." The boy remained calm, even when Zill had pointed at him with his armor on. He could sense that something was off but didn't overreact, Toshi just yawned, he was just as tired as the stripped female was. "I guess we're done then." Toshi walked over to Redder and Reddy so he could finally put down his curiosity.
Toshi kept his eyes on Redder's hair out of utter curiosity. His hair wasn't on fire but was the fire. Toshi was so invested into how mesmerizing it was that he couldn't help but poke Redder's hair himself. "It doesn't burn..." His fascination didn't end there apparently, he had found something even more interesting, a small flame that seemed to be alive in some way. "You know I've never really seen a living flame before. We sort of don't have any around Crocus..." Toshi flat out ignored Zill for the time being, let alone acknowledge the additional people within the forest, Redder included. He was too busy with Reddy. The wizard got into the mini flame's face curious to see if his body would singe his skin. "I should have come to Magnolia a lot sooner, I didn't think I'd ever find come across something like you little guy." All that Toshi wanted was to take Reddy as his own companion. It wasn't because he was cute either, Toshi just wanted Reddy so he could see what made him tick, study him if you will. Like usual Toshi was outright rude as he didn't even bother to make eye contact with Reddy when he replied to his question. "You don't need to call me mister little guy. My name is Toshi and I'm currently looking for a guild. I've been wanting to join Lamina Scale but if Fairy Tail just hands out these little guys then sign me up now. In all honesty though I was a little intimidated to join, I heard...rumors." Toshi's face held no emotion, it never really did, but hopefully Reddy and the others would quickly come to understand this part of him.

Crystal looked around for a moment as she heard some strange noises. Suddenly she witnessed a man falling out of a tree. She watched the male falling down and she frowned, she noted how the branches broke his fall and sighed. When he moved forward towards them Crystal eyed him curiously wondering what he would do. Her body instinctively tensed preparing to lash out at the male should he try anything funny. When he decided to ask if those men wern't intent on harming her she couldn't help but laugh. "I do not know your name but if you think i'd let two males take advantage of me just because i haven't slept in three days your a little off. All i need to do is hit the family jewels and then cover the ground in ice and i can make it a good ways away before they even recover." Crystal's statement would've cured Zill of his confusion on how long she'd been awake and even showcased she knew the basics of how to slip out out of a bad situation. She wasn't very strong however a strong enough hit down there would make any man feel pain.
Seeing Zill and Toshi banter about her only served to make her uncomfortable. She shot a reassuring look at Toshi as if to tell him she was fine to take care of herself. "Redder was taking me to fairy tail to see if i could join. We ran into his master along the way. However havent got much out of her." When someone clarified that Crystal had stripped of her own free will she chuckled lightly before she moved so she was leaning back against a tree.
She heard Toshi call redder's hair weird and she laughed at the fact before she decided to clue the boy in and help Toshi understand her stripping as well. "Redder flames for hair is not normal. Much like my habit of preferring to be scantly clad. It's not out of the realm of possibility however it is by no means normal. Body differences such as yours can be rare very rare, where as my personality quirk is far more common on ice maker wizards however tolerance levels vary." Once she'd said her peace she let the men banter as she lightly shut her eyes. As the three men conversed Crystal began nodding off using the tree as support. The last words she heard were Redder stating that taking advantage of her had not crossed her mind. Crystals traveling had taken a good deal out of her and the stressful events had finally worn her out. It was hard to notice that she'd fallen asleep however her posture had somewhat relaxed and her breathing became quite steady and even.
OOc: strange question, i understand magical world and what not but i've only read up to chapter 80ish on the manga but am current on the anime (200) have they made a reference to Homunculus, i know i've seen inanimate objects such as a doll given life, and wood and clay turned into "people" but never Homunculus (or magic as such). to my knowledge a Homunculus was made with bones/body parts of a deceased individual as well as several other chemical components. Dear lord, school has been such a killer! I plan to post more, but you'll have to be patient with me I'm so sorry again >3< So I really didn't want to read 2+ pages of posts so I had Rain try to sum it up for me on what was going on

Miaki listened intently to what he had to say, but before she even had a chance to respond, it seemed that someone else had come over. Her eyes moved up and that's when she noticed Redder. She smiled brightly "oh? Done with that mission of yours already?" she asked, hugging him. She nodded "I'm glad you're aren't hurt" she said, relaxing a bit more. She was thrilled that one of her members didn't get hurt badly from the mission. She then released Redder and looked over at Zill. She opened her mouth, but quickly closed it as more people came over. She tilted her head to the side, there was a lot of people here all of a sudden. Well, it was a nice day out after all. She stretched and backed away from the mages as they talked. It was nice to see them having normal conversations like this, for Miaki it made her extremely happy to hear. She looked up at the sky and pondered about a few things and was deep in thought, until she heard that one of them were interesting in joining her guild. She smiled, interesting, there was a lot of people she kept finding to join her guild. Maybe this time her guildhall wouldn't sound like a boring library. Besides, its no fun if everything's quiet. She turned her attention towards the mages and made her way over. She coughed softly "sorry to interrupt, but I feel I should probably introduce myself" she chirped. She smiled some more, before bowing politely "my name is Miaki, I'm the guildmaster for Fairy Tail" she announced. Once that was out of the way and placed a hand on her hip "am I correct in hearing that you were interested in our guild? I'd love to show you around if you'd like" she offered. Besides it's not like she had anything else to do. Plus Zill was already interested in her guild as well so it was like killing two birds with one stone. It was then on mentioned something about rumors and she tilted her head softly to the side, "rumors? Care to elaborate?" she asked, her attention on one of the newcomers. ➟The young wizard was busy with Reddy but he still had an ear open. Toshi was glad that the women was so capable. He was more surprised by her statement on being a wizard. She didn't seem like one because she seemed like a damsel in distress, Toshi had to make a mental note not to underestimate women as powerful creatures. "You haven't slept in three days? Well I'm sure that isn't healthy now is it?" He scratched his head as he thought of what she meant by 'family jewels'. Finally he got what she had meant, his eyes widened in surprise. "Well aren't you the resourceful one? Nice thinking, strike at the weak point." Toshi extended his hands around Reddy to test his heat. "It seems like a lot of people these days are without a guild" he mumbled. Listening to Crystal explain bodily differences, Toshi yawned. He was in no way as tired as Crystal most likely was, he hadn't lost three blissful nights. During her speech he nodded his head from time to time just to show that he was listening, but he didn't really understand most of it. "Okay then" he said along with the end of her speech.
Toshi looked at Miaki just in time to see her present herself in such a respectful manner. He tilted his head and raised a brow in confusion, for someone that came from Crocus, a place that held royalty, he didn't have many concept on manners. A simple "yes" or "no" was all that he knew to being polite. He nodded his head at Miaki's reply. It was only fair that she hear what people saw in Fairy Tail. Toshi stared at Reddy for a good long, and awkward, minute. "I'm not done with you yet." Once again he focused his attention on Miaki. She seemed young for a guild master, he didn't really know what to expect for one though. When he was a small child the guild master of his father's guild was very old. He had assumed that most guilds would have older people running them because they were much more mature and experienced. "I wouldn't mind telling you. Overall I've heard that the guild is filled with a rowdy and noisy bunch. I guess that's what made me change my mind about joining." Toshi hadn't had many friends when he was younger, he had his sister, a best friend, and a few others that just seemed to be there. The other children tended to keep to themselves in small groups leaving Toshi out of the mix. His concept on friendship was rather flawed, even if he did have a best friend with him throughout his years in his father's guild. "To me it just feels more relaxing and comforting to have a quiet atmosphere, Fairy Tail was just too...friendly?" he seemed conflicted with his response as if he didn't really have much reason not to join, which he didn't. The boy wanted to join a guild and Lamina Scale just sounded right to him. He didn't know much about it, however, he knew that it was successful and that Fairy Tail was supposedly packed to the brim with noise. Toshi wasn't one for teamwork, he desired compete independence.

Miaki waited for the boy to answer, he seemed to be interested in Redder, which didn't surprise her all that much. She pursed her lips as he stated that people thought that Fairy Tail was loud, and in the past it was. She ran a hand softly through her hair and thought about it "hmm... well Ray is a very laid back guy... he's the guildmaster for Lamia Scale" she stated. She wasn't going to give up on him, but she certainly wasn't going to lie to him either. She thought about the right words to say "I can't disprove that rumor, being a member of Fairy Tail myself it was just as the rumors said... but lately many members have retired or are out on missions so it's gotten quieter. To be honest Redder recently just joined, but other than that we have no other members that are in town" she said, sighing. It was true, Fairy Tail was strong, but lately they were lacking in members. She knew personally she was at fault. Her past wasn't something she was always proud of, she was quite the powerhouse. Of course she's a changed person now, but Ray knew all about her considering they've been friends for a long time. She smiled more "I can't make the decision for you, but you might like Fairy Tail... but if you have your sights set on Laima Scale I can introduce you to Ray" she said. It's not what she wanted, but lately she has been reflecting on her actions. She needed to act more like a guild master, rather than a young adult. Besides, the rumors about her being inexperienced already made her on edge. She stretched a bit before looking at him "too friendly huh? I think Fairy Tail is a place for everyone regardless of any differences they may have" she stated. She smiled more "you could always stay at the guild for a few days and see what its like as well, I'm sure Redder wouldn't mind showing you around town as well, right Redder?" she asked, smiling. In the short version of the events that followed, Zill had explained how he would pretty much cheat at climbing trees by using his magic to step higher and test branches before he would climb on them. He had stopped the touch almost as soon as it began as his circling had come to a stop at about the same time he asked him to. Zill had never been to Crocus and found it rather interesting. He would have to look into it later or check with Toshi for more information when he next got a chance.
When Zill realized why she had said three then seven, he about fell out. He was left speachless as she continued to talk. He became even more confused about the family jewels comment and decided that it was probably magic and he would eventually come to understand it later. Her statements about ice maker wizards gave him a better understanding as he too was quirky in that manner as he could not be comfortable without some form of weight against his skin.
Zill was glad to see Miaki had returned from being lost in thought. It was beginning to make him worry as she was quite silent for a while. "I to am Interested in joining a guild, bad weather nights and people traveling by trees can make for an uncomfortable stay" He said as he also wished to interject his own request to be in a guild. He had rather kept away from guilds before as he had little understanding of their infrastructure and the methods of getting into one.
After seeing a destroyed guild hall, Zill did not want to see it again and was willing to do what he could to help Fairy Tail recover. "Well Miaki, you can have my membership till I am old and gray and have to take my armor off cause I cant walk with it anymore" He said as he was willing to offer his services till he had no choice but to retire.

((a homunculus is basically a fake human and it is alchemy, magic is often incorporated to move the souls around, but normally is very far from human and it can be pretty much anything from flesh and bones to clay given intelligence... i think the ones in FMA were made by dark spirits getting called into the mix as they tried to call the dead back to life but I have no real good understanding of them lol))

➟Toshi could tell that Miaki was being sincere. It was somewhat nice, feeling needed. After hearing her it made him feel a bit bad for listening to those rumors. So the leader of Lamina Scale is known as Ray. Once again Toshi was caught off guard, this time it was something really simple, a name. Ray didn't sound like a guild master's name but what could he expect? You'd think that the boy would be very cultural after his many travels, but he wasn't. After she explained the current condition of Fairy Tail he began to get an idea of what it was like. "Well I'm sorry that members have been leaving, even if it is quieter. It can't be easy having members retire." His guilt grew as she went on, "I shouldn't judge too fast," he whispered. I've been searching for Lamina Scale for so long. I can finally just join and settle down, maybe even start sending letters to my parents. I'm sure they must be worried about me... It was true that the wizard had high hopes for Lamina Scale, he had his heart set on it, but now he was offered a chance to join Fairy Tail which he hastily judged and wrote off a while ago. "Well I don't think I'm ready to just join, but I'm willing to give Fairy Tail a fair shot. I'd be happy to stay and see how it functions." Toshi scratched the back of his head timidly. He had no clue what to expect with Fairy Tail, depending on how things went he may join regardless of how loud they actually were because truth be told, he had no idea what to expect, in a guild setting. He would be joining his first guild, he may have been used to a quiet atmosphere in his old guild home, but things could have most likely swayed his decision. Her incessant smiling didn't seem to have an effect on him however, it told him that she was kind hearted but he was sure he had made his decision on his own. "Oh, that's very thoughtful but Redder doesn't need to go through the trouble. I'd be glad to learn how everything works on my own." Toshi didn't feel like he was imposing on Redder but was really fine on his own. "My answer is a solid maybe." Toshi said that but Fairy Tail was already getting a point for simply having Redder and Reddy as members. It was hard to see what his obsession was with the little fireball, things like this in Fiore surely did exist, but it was the first time Toshi was engaging in a meeting with a creature like this. Finally Toshi went back to ogling Reddy, of course it made Toshi seem odd but he didn't really care. "Your such a sight to see," he told the little fireball awkwardly.
(I did want to join Lamina Scale but now I'm thinking Fairy Tail...my opinion changes way too easily. -Sigh-)

Miaki looked over at Zill as he spoke and her smile widened "glad to hear that, Fairy Tail is lucky to have someone like you" she chirped happily. Now there were two new members in her guild. Things seemed to be getting better now. She was practically beaming with happiness, she wanted a lot more members, things would be so much more interesting that way. She looked over at Redder, "seems you have a new guildmate now Redder, Reddy" she said. She was glad that at least now Redder wasn't alone anymore. She felt relieved to a certain degree. Her eyes then moved back over to Toshi, and she could sense that he seemed a bit guilty. She smiled softly, even if he had seemed sort of depressing at first, Miaki could tell that he was actually kind-hearted himself... hell he seemed like he could be outgoing to a certain degree. She waved her hand dismissively "no need to apologize, it's not like you're responsible for their retirement... it was just time for them to settle down was all" she said. She was thrilled that he was giving them a change, it pleased her greatly "I don't really mind being judged, I personally pay no attention to rumors such as that... I let the individual make their own decisions based on what they feel is fact or false information" she said. It was true, if even after he hung around the guild and confirmed the rumor, then he had that right. She smiled again "Of course, I wouldn't dream of forcing you or pressuring you to join our guild... that decision lies solely with you, and as for showing you the town... what kind of host would I be if I just left you on your own in town? No no, I insist you allow at least me to show you around" she said. Of course, if he really wanted to go to town on his own she'd let him. She laughed softly as that fixated gaze of his floated back to Redder and Reddy "I see they've peaked your interest... I have to say they peaked my interest as well the first time I met them... I'm glad you're considering joining Fairy Tail, did you want me to show you guys to the guild? Or would you rather wait and have Redder show you the way later?" she asked softly. Reddy stared at Toshi, who told him he was not done with him as of yet and awkwardly telling him "he is such at sight to see". Toshi was creeping him out as he was "experimenting" with the small Agni. The little flame quickly hid behind Redder. "U-uhmm.. -sweatdrop-" Reddy wimpered. Redder chuckled while looking over his shoulder. Miaki finally escaped from silence and recognized the fire hair's accomplishment of his first mission. Redder replied by grinning. Toshi was interested in joining Fairy Tail, but had his sights set on Lamia. Although, he had some mixed feelings. Rumors have been going around saying Fairy Tail was a rowdy group. Redder looked in confusion. When he first joined, the guild was quiet and solumn than compared to being just rowdy when noisy. Miaki said because of the death of her predecessor, many people left. Some just had to retire. Then, she had to take things in her own hands and take care of the guild. Judging by the look Toshi expressed, he regretted only going by mere rumors. It seems he wanted to give Fairy Tail a one-shot and explore what's in store. He didn't need Redder's guidance as he wanted to see it for himself. Redder understood and laid off. He was ecstatic to have some fellow guildmates. "OK then." Redder replied to Toshi. "G-Glad to have you aboard Toshi..." Reddy said with a zig-say smile.

Crystal leaned against the tree sleeping lightly. Her body was fully relaxed and calmed. It seemed that the current noise from the guild master and everyone's excitement did very little to her slumber. She'd fallen asleep before Toshi comment he made about how a lack of sleep was unhealthy. A lack of sleep was something Crystal had grown accustomed to. Despite the bad health effects she followed a rather healthy life style that made up for the fact. Crystal would've called Toshi out on his falling out of the tree if she wern't asleep, but currently she was in a blissful dreamless sleep. Most of Crystals dreams were non-existent or nightmares, seldom had she had a pleasant or enjoyable dream at least that she remembered.
OOc: i'm not too versed on it either. I simply assumed that those puppets wood/clay/hair puppets weren't homunculus. Since the idea of homunculus implied they were made to look like another person/ a person brought back from the dead and required a great deal of magic/alchemy power including the loss of life. Since homunculus were first "heard of" (they existed prior under a slightly different context) in alchemy and alchemy follows the principal of equivalent exchange i more or less thought those things were puppets. (now we enter small spoiler zone for starry heavens arc anime only)
Short of the Zentopia cardinal (brain hair copy) most of the other's i saw had simple actions and lacked complex human thought.
The notable difference from the fma homunculus is they were made up with parts of a dead body or in someones likeness, other components (basic chemical composition found in humans). In the bringing back to life of Ed and Al's mother Alphonse lost his life and Edward a leg and then a arm to save his brother by affixing his soul to a suit of armor and in the original anime they made "sloth" whilst in FMAB they made nothing. From the fma series it was made a point that homunculus being "soul less" were unable to use alchemy or in our case magic. Zentopia cardinal brain had the ability to use magic.
XD and Crystal gets ignored by all good times shall be had, it seems Redder's forgotten her, and his desire for her to join his guild.
