Your response:

Cornelius wasn't certain how any of this would play out, the things his mother had told him were..well he was fairly certain that his father would find them some that disturbing to say the very least..and yet..he did not want to judge them prematurely. He did not want to treat them the way some Soquili were prone to treating his mother. It was a moral conundrum that had the little colt stewing in silent consideration as he trailed along behind his mother and siblings.

While his family had attempted to speak with him at the beginning of the trip, they had quickly given up as their questions, comments or questioning looks went unanswered. Cornelius wasn't intending to be rude..he just had to work things out in his own mind before he considered anything else. He considered himself to be a relatively bright foal but he was far to young still for such thoughts to be crawling through his mind and yet despite this..his mothers honesty was reassuring, as was the knowledge that she would never take them into danger. No certainly nothing would happen during this encounter that was too bad...He truly had no reason to be frightened or nervous.

And yet Cornelius found this shiver in his spine somewhat hard to shake off. He would not be judgmental he told himself firmly. Wary perhaps..as one should always be around strangers but judgmental? No...well not unless he saw something happen that he truly did not agree with.

Your response:

Cornelius wasn't often the wandering type, but once in a while, when his siblings or parents got a touch overbearing..well a nice walk in the woods was just the sort of calming thing that was called for. Typically these walks were quiet and uneventful..which was precisely the reason he enjoyed them so much, but today he had scarcely set his hooves upon the path before a rather pitiful sound caught his attention. Pausing the colt turned his head this way and that in an attempt to locate the source of the whimpering. It seemed to be coming from somewhere nearby and it sounded as thought someone or something was in distress.

Cornelius paused for a few moment's, looking back over his shoulder towards the place where his family took shelter for the day. Perhaps he should go and fetch someone older to deal with this..but what would he tell them? That he'd heard a sound? No..before he went to get help he supposed he ought to at least see what was wrong. He'd feel rather foolish if the whimpering sound was just some strange insect or unknown bird call now wouldn't he. Shaking his head and putting on a brave face Cornelius turned off of the path and stepped boldly into the woods to follow the sounds.

It did not take him long to trace it back to its source. A small fox kit. It seemed that the tiny beast had fallen into a bit of a sinkhole and try as it might could simply not jump high enough to leap out. Turning his head to search warily for the kits mother - Foxes were not typically a concern for full sized Soquili but one could never underestimate a frightened mother. With no parent in sight Corenelius was at a bit of a loss..the kit did not seem to be wounded but if he left it there well..it could easily starve, or die from thirst as the days sun began to warm the day. No..he couldn't leave it there, it would be wrong and his father was always preaching about doing the right thing.

With his path set Cornelius went about looking for a way to help the trapped kit, since the little creature could jump fairly high already - it seemed almost able to reach the edge - he thought perhaps finding something it could use as a boost would do the trick and just down the path he thought he had passed a small broken bit of log. Turning away from the whimpering creature he went off to retrieve the piece of wood so that he might cast it into the hole and save the trapped beast.

Your response:

Today was going to be a special day, Cornelius was sure of it..today he had begged his father to spend the entire day together. Of course he often spent time with his father..but that time was typically shared with his siblings. Today would be different, today he would have his father all to himself. Cornelius was ecstatic, while he loved all of his family he often felt the closest to his father - even if they did not always see eye to eye on the way a situation ought to be handled.

Every son wanted to be like his father however, so it was hardly any surprise that Cornelius wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps..perhaps the stallion would tell him the story of some great adventure he had been on, his father had traveled so much that Cornelius wasn't sure he would ever get the chance to hear all of the stories that came from them and the little colt often envisioned going on grand adventures himself when he was older..why perhaps he would try to see some of the very places his father spoke of in his stories. That would be so beyond nifty!

Of course..he would have to make sure to see some new places as well. Continue the tradition of wandering and adventure as it were..and make some of his own stories that he could pass on to his own children and even share with his father. He was certain that this would make his father proud in some manner and above anything else Cornelius wanted to make his father proud.

Your response:

Cornelius could well remember the day he had asked his mother why she had named him the way she had. The last name of course just made sense, it was tradition in her family..but the first had long since baffled him. Cornelius was a good name of course..as good as any other he supposed, but he knew there had to be something more too it...one didn't just name their children any old thing right? Names were supposed to be special!

Of course he hadn't realized how special until just that very day when his mother had told him that even as a very tiny foal he had been a strong willed but smart little beast and so a name which meant such things seemed to fit. She had then gone on to warn him that while these traits were virtues a great deal of the time that he should be wary about letting them become flaws. She had told him that he must be bold enough to act when needed and wise enough to hold back when he had too. It would be be a hard line to walk she had told him but she and his father were quite sure that he would be capable of doing so.

That day had been forever etched in Cornelius' mind, he had spent a great deal of time since then mulling over the words of his mother, considering both the meaning of his name and the way he desired to live up to it..and he would live up to it..of that there would be no question.

[+]Foal Plots[+]

[+] Bolstering of the Mind- Faust has realized at a young age he has a particular gift of overanalyzing things. He likes to get lost in the woods surrounding his family’s home and use his gifts to find his way home.

[+] Bloodied Bonding- Being the only male of the first bornfoals he tries to spend time with his father, on his better days, and avoids him like the plague when he finds himself spiraling down into the madness that plagues the Sinclair name. On this particular outing with his father, he finds a wounded hare and has to fight the urge to ravage the poor creature until there is nothing but a pile of fluff.

[+] Burying the hatchet- Faust always likes to put on a good face for his sisters, so be it a good day or bad he would never do anything around them to indicate his fragile state of mind. Though one day, while on a family outing, he stumbles upon his sister, Claudette, draped in a blanket of red as she stands wide-eyed and shivering over the freshly slaughtered corpse of a fawn**. Knowing his family is fast approaching and just envisioning the displeasure on his father’s face, he sends Claudette off into some brush to hide while he attempts to cover his sister’s tracks and dispose of the body before Laertes is any the wiser.
** I’m not saying Claudette killed it, just that she stumbled upon it.

[+]Stallion Plots[+]

[+] Den Décor- Faust has separated from his family and is searching out a home for his own. He comes upon a den made of rock in the side of a hill tucked away in the woods, and decides it is as good as any. So now the decorating process begins. Faust has a lot of interesting hobbies; Insect collecting, studying anatomy and looking for abnormalities between species… The bloodlust thing helps with his collection of creature abnormalities. His home will gradually be decorated with organ-filled jars of formaldehyde, and boxes upon glass boxes of different insect species.

[+] Reinforcing Family Ties- Faust makes a habit of seeking out his family and visiting with them at least once a year; just to catch up and see how things are going, help his sisters/father/mother in any way he can, and of course creep on his extended family to see just how in/sane they really are.

[+] Repent and You Shall Be saved.- Upon one of Faust’s visits with his father he finds himself flashing back to the past when he stumbles upon a bloody scene and a dying hare. With his father watching he has to use his extensive knowledge of anatomy and slight healing abilities to patch the animal back together, thus repairing the strained relationship with his father.

Prompt Number: Prompt 2: You have wandered away or gotten separated from the rest of your family and come across a small injured or trapped animal. What is your reaction? Do you help it? Do you put it out of its misery? Has your family life influenced this decision?

Your response:

‘Faust, What do you see?’ he mentally asked himself. Planting all four hooves ankle deep in the icy snow he straightened his posture, spread his wings wide and took in the frozen winter air he opened his eyes wide.

‘rushing river water jumping and weaving around smoothed river stone, hoarfrost forming on frail frozen branches. Farther I see a fawn…’

Tipping his head to the side he shivers in anticipation, ‘what do you hear?’

Flicking his ears, he closed his eyes, “Silence…” he breathed, ‘wood cracking under the pressure of expanding ice, water splashing, breathing… Labored breathing, and-’

Eyes opening, nostrils flare, “Blood…”

Folding his wings to his side, Faust burst forth breaking branches, plunging through the icy river and emerging on the banks. After wading through a barrier of brush and weaving through a few yards of trees he found himself in the center of a blood soaked clearing with a panting fawn laying, leg trapped in a metal toothed contraption.

He shifted on his hooves, right to left and back again as he fought an internal conflict on what to do in this situation. His father would suggest releasing, bandaging, and potentially bringing it home for healing, but there is always the chance the artery in the leg has been severed and the creature would surely bleed out if the trap was removed.

The fawn's breath slowed as it began to relax into its fate.

Faust took a deep breath and examined the contraption, there appeared to be a release lever just near the hinge where the chain attached to metal jaws. Pressing down should relieve the pressure and free the fawn, but then what?

He had nothing to dress the wound, nothing to keep the blood from rushing out of the wound... at the same time if he were to kill it and get caught it would be another stern tongue lashing he would have to suffer through. Selfish desires overcame him judgment as he pressed down on the lever in fear of his father's disapproval.

Feeling the pressure lifted from its leg the fawn sprung forth with life and bolted into the forest.

A pit formed in Faust's stomach. The creature he freed would surely bleed out or die of infection if not tended to, not to mention the trail it would leave; easy prey for any on the prowl tonight. In his selfish actions he doomed the fawn to an equally, if not more painful death, making him no better than the hunter whose game he freed.

Basket Name: Edmond
Temper: Twisted
Personality: From a young age, Ed will have always felt a bit of out place with the world. Something is and was missing, and he was never quite a happy foal. He'd twist or fidget; cackle or moan - whatever, and he will not have been able to control those urges. Why? He'd have no idea until his first accidental kill.
From the first taste of blood and onward, he'd begin to realize just how much he needs it - like his mother - to function. With it, he can keep himself at bay. He's calm and somewhat friendly, and loves his dear family to death.
Without it, and all hell has broken. His eyes begin to widen, his body begins to shake, and his brain starts shutting down - and who knows what would happen after that. The longer he goes without blood, the worse his condition will get. Like both of his parents, he doesn't want to kill, but if too much time as past without blood, he may have to just to satisfy his needs. The 'crazy' in him isn't really him, so he has no control over that part.
Other: <333 Thanks for the opportunity guys!! Sorry if his personality is a bit choppy, this was just a quick thought.

Plot Ideas:
1.) The Breaking of the Dam - His accidental first kill. This would happen very late foalhood/very early adulthood, and although I'm not quite sure what he would kill - maybe a deer? And this would spark his eventual understanding of himself, as well as his downfall of who he thought he was.
2.) Fathers Know Best...? - Out of his parents, he prefers his mother only because her situation is similar to his. Perhaps one day when his mother is off & gone, Ed will spend a few days with his father, just the two of them. Ed doesn't really necessarily know HOW to talk to his dad, so it would be interesting to see that relationship develop.
3.) The Beast Within - This plot is one that wouldn't happen until later on in his adulthood, but I'd love it if someone (preferably someone with a weaker disposition) met him while his thirst for blood had run dry - so he'd be far into his crazy state. What would happen? Not quite sure - but it'll be fun to see just how far he'd go to fill his needs.

Your response:

Romani looked up to his father, having heard the meaning of his name, and the story behind it. A confused expression went across his face in a wave. He didn't quite understand it all. However, some of it made sense to him, even at such a young age. Perhaps it was why he had both a love of travel, and the desire to tinker. Gypsies were known for both. The whole thing about a balance to life, and religion? Yeah, he was totally clueless as to what all that meant! The young foal thought nothing more of it, and bounded off to go play with his sisters. Romani would just live life the way it came to him, and not worry about the meaning of a name. Even if he was persecuted for his associations with those that drink blood, he would stand strong and not falter. This, this is how he will live up to his name.

(The great young foal, has been given the name Romani. Romani were a group of people, otherwise called gypsies. The Romanichal group is responsible for the gypsy breed of horse/soquili, which is a sub branch of the Romani people. The strong name of Romani will symbolize adaptation, race, and religion. The Romani were known to be able to adapt to the spiritual beliefs of the land they lived in. A universal balance to life was also part of their belief. Even Shakespeare himself, has been referenced to being Romani!)

Your response:
He was told what his name stood for; Clarence was to be a kind and gentle stallion. Expectations that he knew that he would never fully exceed. At least on the inside. As a newly born foal, he was as pure as his father would have wanted him to be. Clarence was kind and unselfish, wanting to do his best to make friends with any living creature that he came across, be it a frog, snake, or even another foal. Like his father, he would stand up for anything being hurt or bullied. Sadly, this personality slowly started to crumble when he first started feeling the unexplained hunger in his stomach. His decent into something that his father would have been ashamed of was hidden deep inside of him.

Going into adulthood, he still clung to the idea of what he should be, wearing it as a mask to lure in the objects of his desire. Others would still see him as kind, but only before he would show his true colors. Clarence thought that once, his name did fit him to a T. Now it was just a cruel mockery of what he had failed to become.
