Quote: Location: A Playground Park in Gambino District || Characters: Adonis + Chai + ??? The wind whistled through his wings as he swiveled left and right to avoid trees. His wingspan was his only problem, and he felt the sting of branches as they snagged against the ends of his feathers and tugged a few back with them. He felt a core feather snag on a branch and rip off, and winced, making a sharp right angle turn upwards to fly up over the trees.
When he burst through the canopy of trees, he stopped, hovering above the sea of green. His wings beat furiously behind him to keep them hovered as he scanned the area they had been running from.
The trouble is, when faced with an ocean of leaves, it's hard to tell where one direction from another.
Still, it didn't seem like anyone was coming from any side, and for now that was good enough. He lowered gently down to one of the more stable treetops, whose high branches seemed thick enough to hold their weight, and alighted onto it. His arms stayed around Chai just in case the branch broke and he needed to fly again, but they loosened enough to let her know they were safe.
"I think we're okay now. Maybe I was too fast. Yes.. that must be it." He should have known no dark and mysterious entity could keep up with him.

Quote: Location: A Playground Park in Gambino District || Characters: Adonis + Chai + ??? She hid her face in Donny's neck though her eyes peered outout. She tensed when she saw the branches grab at his feathers, tearing them from his wings. Passioned hate rose up for the sin the trees committed by tearing feathers out. It made her mad but moreso worried. Not having wings of her own, she didn't know if it hurt or not.
It wasn't until she felt him wince from another feather being torn that she realized it must hurt. She frowned, wishing he would stop so he couldn't be hurt anymore. Her mind clouded over by the thought of the figures. They seemed...or rather he seemed to be running from them. Did he know them then?
Breaking through the canopy of trees, she calmed. Her nerves settled as she nuzzled against Donny. "It's beautiful up here," she murmured, giving a smile. Feeling his arms loosen, she knew whatever they had been running from must not be coming. "You've seen those figures before, right? Mm. I think, they're too dark to come up here."

Quote: Location: Barton Town - Fountain || Armel + Nalira + Rhea + Fai + ?? ((Sorry this took so long! I suck. sweatdrop )) Rhea greeted the older Tale with a wave, and she noticed that the girl looked quite uncomfortable around all of these new people. But before she could say anything to her, the vision crept into her brain as well. It was fleeting, but she could see the image of the two people clearly, and she could hear the strange voices they were speaking in. Who were these people, and why did the image in their scrying ball look so familiar?
"I saw it too!" she exclaimed, looking around to the other Tales for agreement. "Do any of you recognize those people?" she asked, wondering why the scene had looked so intimidating. "Was that Gaia in their ball?"

Quote: Location: The Shop || Sylvester + Angelus + Alala + Tiwaz + Elana + Ayden + ?? Sylvester stayed silent during the emotional exchange between Angelus and the smaller kids, even when directly addressed. Tiwaz did a very good 'intimidating' and he didn't want to get in the way of that glowing ball any time soon.
He nodded at Angelus and followed behind him and Tiwaz, shooting Elana and Ayden a more sympathetic look than he had before. The sooner everyone was calm again, the better.

Quote: Location: The Shop || Sylvester + Angelus + Alala + Tiwaz + Elana + Ayden + ?? "Don't listen Elana, we are no different then everyone else." Ayden whispered softly to Elana as he lifted his hand to her face to help wipe away his sister's tears. "We should exist, they told us we are the key, that means that we are needed doesn't it?" Ayden's voice dropped to an even quieter level so that there would be no possible way for anyone to hear him speak. Ayden gawked at Elana his eyes open wide as he watched Elana stand up to the girl, Tiwaz. "Elana... lets try to be friends with them for now please?" Ayden asked Elan. Ayden looked up from Elana to Sylvester, who was now leaving the room, and gave a curtious smile relieved to see at least one friendly face in the room.

Quote: Location: A Playground Park in Gambino District || Characters: Adonis + Chai + ??? "Light won't stop them." Donny breathed out, his voice tense. "Nothing does."
He blinked, and shook his head, clearing his mind. "I unno. You saw them too huh? Whoever they are, they're bad." He didn't know this for sure, except he was completely certain that he was right, and that was enough proof for him. He winced slightly, and curled his left wing around to look at it's end. A tiny trickle of blood was almost unnoticeable against his dark feathers, where his feathers had been plucked out. The very end of the wing was now bare, it's light bony color peeking out of the dark like the snowy tip of a great dark mountain. He reached out and touched it, and the wing retracted from his touch instinctually, singed by the pain.

Quote: Location: A Playground Park in Gambino District || Characters: Adonis + Chai + ??? "Oh..." Chailyn sighed feeling foolish. She'd only seen an image for a brief second and they certainly weren't anywhere she had been. She didn't think they were here now though. At least she hoped not. "Donny...are you ok?" she asked.
She couldn't really see the blood against his wings but she could see the bone peeking out. Now she was sure that was bad. "We'll be ok if we sit here for awhile. You're too fast for them," she stated with a nod.

She relaxed at the feel of Ayden's hand on her face. "We are the keys, so where is the door? Maybe when this whole thing is over, we'll all be happier."
She lifted her face, and forced a smile. Ayden's right; It's better to make one more friend then gain another foe.

Quote: Location: Bass'ken Lake || Vidya + Lance + Elena + Tybalt ?? (( OOC: Dee gave me permission to post as Lance in her absence, just FYI~ ))
Still, Lance resisted the urge to brush his thumb over Elena's blushing cheeks...as tempting as it was, he wouldn't dare to show such mild affection in front of that damned pirate. His fingers twitched a bit when Elena spoke next, and again he resisted all urges to touch her. Vidya's little outburst had taken him aback for a moment...he'd never seen her act like that before. It was...unusual. He decided not to dwell on it too much, but he was happy she referred to him as the Knight he was going to be.
"No, I would never kidnap you." He reassured Elena gently, before cutting another glare in Tybalt's direction. "I would never lower myself to such petty actions, unlike someone here." Shortly after, he pointedly ignored the parrot. Let him talk, it was all just the rants of a self-loving windbag, after all.
He did, however, turn to listen to Vidya when she spoke of her dream. Strange...was everyone having one? A recurring one, no less? About to reply, Lance found himself at a loss for words as an image flashed before his eyes. People. Two people...looking at some strange sphere? As quickly as it had came it left, leaving him confused. "...Whoa." He breathed out in surprise.
It took him about two seconds to remember where he was and in whose company he was in, so he shook his head and withdrew his baffled expression, pretending for the moment that he had seen nothing. In the back of his mind however, he tried to make sense of what he had seen.

Quote: Location: A Playground Park in Gambino District || Characters: Adonis + Chai + ??? After a few minutes, it was clear no one was actually following them, and they were safe. This alleviated the fear and anxiety that had Donny on full alert, and he slumped back slightly, and began the slow revert to his normal, cocky attitude.
"You're right, of course." He looked her over quickly with a careful eye. "Did you get hurt any?" He doubted it; he had taken care to keep her close, and he had made sure to keep anything from scratching his own perfect, delicate skin, which meant she should have been close enough to be safe, too.

Quote: Location: Bass'ken Lake || Characters: Vidya + Lance+ Elena + Tybalt + ??? Elena smiled in response to Vidya's look of gratitude, loosing the strand of hair she'd had in her fingers. A mental flag went up at her curious behavior, but was quickly filed away as something to keep an eye out for, instead of being something to discuss. "That is good to know," Elena said to Lance, keeping her voice light in an effort to keep tension at a minimum. That, however, would prove a mostly futile effort as the same vision flashed before her eyes. Elena had no great skill at anything magical or otherwordly, rather like her mum, but she was good at reading people. And the feeling she got from them sent a shiver down her spine and caused her to move ever so slightly closer to Lance because she felt safer that way. "What is going on?" she asked, feeling a rising swell of anger and annoyance at the events that had disrupted her life. If anyone moved much closer to the girl, they would feel the cold emanating from her tatoos, even though they were mostly covered by her jacket.

She gave a frown hoping that it didn't hurt. She felt a little guilty. And for a moment her mind wandered back to the image she'd seen. Trying to sketch the details out, she found it harder to remember what she'd seen. Besides the two figures nothing really registered in her mind.
"What do you think those things want? Who do you think they are?" she asked gently.

Quote: Location: Barton Town - Fountain || Armel + Nalira + Rhea + Fai + ??
((Gah, sorry this took so long.)) The more the merrier? The Author had barely even stepped into the circle of them all when it happened. She hadn't seen it herself, yet she saw the reactions. Saw Nalira reel back from her position, saw Armel stop in mid-sentence and heard Rhea's outburst of questions. Instinctively, the Author tightened her lax grip on the Tale around her. Grey eyes watched the frown of confusion sweep over like the plague, infecting every tale one after the other.
Fai, just like the others, froze in mid-gape. Soft hazelnut eyes melted as the vision past, fleeting across his eyelids like a cloud. People, there were people. They sat in a room covered in cobwebs, a flickering light casting shadow over the right of the two. His chubby fingers reached up, flailing in the air like a lost ship, desperately trying to clutch to his goggles...If only he had his goggles, he might have been able to see inside that globe they had. Everything hazed around him, the soft melody of voices drifting over his dappled wings and into his ears. His fingers patted the rim of his skull, latched onto the edge of the leather, and tugged. He was too late, far too late. The vision sweeping back into his head like the tide on the beach, throwing the sand back into the sea of memories.
Her ears had flicked the moment he had moved, large grey eyes watching him reach up for his goggles - looking almost memorised. Like he hadn't fully put himself into the task. "Fai?" The young author whispered in question. It only took a moment, but two brown orbs met hers a minute later. Podgy toddler fingers latched around the edge of his goggle strap, Fai's mottled wings pinning back towards his blue hair in pure confusion. Who were they, and what was that?
"Saw it too, hm?" In a hushed tone, Taley smiled meekly in the face of a rather confused tale- it had affected all of them after all, well - apart from her. Only then did the Author glance up at the rest of them, watching Nalira's shaky breaths. "Are you ok?" It was the first word she'd really said to anyone. Shifting the Tale on her side, Taley flashed a worried glance in the female Tale's direction. She hadn't hurt herself falling backwards, had she?
If Fai had fully understood himself he would have said something. Rather, his fingers slowly let go his goggles. The brown straps seeped around his wings, the two fluffy feathered appendages flicking and flapping to keep them afloat. They seemed to have a mind of their own sometimes, deeming fit that holding each wing horizontal to support the straps was the best idea for now. Instead, he watched Armel with curious hazel eyes. With one fist clutched onto Taley's jumper, he pushed his other (thorn covered arm) out towards the lad.

Quote: Location: Bass'ken Lake || Characters: Vidya + Lance+ Elena + Tybalt + ??? "I know what you meant," Tybalt shot back, seeming not at all alarmed in his best friend's sudden mood shift--indeed, he was happy to see her fired up, happier still to be the one to provoke such a show of spirit. The corner of his mouth twitched downwards at Vidya's description of her dream, and the wing nearest to her rose stiffly to brush against her back before retreating. It was the closest thing to compassion he would show in the presence of a stranger and an enemy. "Course not," he responded immediately, turning back towards the others to discourage further inquiries on the matter. "Don't have t' kidnap them if they come willingly, eh?" he retorted with a tense smirk, winking at Elena. "Course, you wouldn't have that...that, uh..." he trailed off as a vision, unfamiliar and different from the strange fragments of thought he was used to seeing, flashed before his eyes. He squeezed them shut, pinching the bridge of his nose to ward off the sharp headache the vision brought with it, his mind at once inviting and rebelling against the intrusion. It abated after a moment, and he slowly opened his eyes. "...problem," he said, both finishing his sentence and summing up the situation.

Quote: Location: A Playground Park in Gambino District || Characters: Adonis + Chai + ??? "Oh.. don't worry about it. It was only the feathers, anyway - they grow back."
He would have normally fussed horribly about the damage, but there was a sullen quiet about him due to the recent event. He absent-mindedly stroked Chai's hair, and tested his wings to make sure they he was telling the truth when he said it was nothing but the feathers.
"They're bad. Bad people." He resolved, nodding sagely. "They want to make you ugly like them, and then they want to make you suffer. Sometimes I dream about them, but if you saw them as much as I saw them then that means we saw them. And if we saw them then it can't be a dream. It can't be."
He sighed softly and looked down towards the ground, before collecting the small girl in his arms and hopping off the branch. He hovered them slowly downward until they touched the ground, where he let her go.
"Maybe we should get back to the park. I think we should walk though."
He didn't think they should walk. He just didn't trust his wings at the moment; the small change of feathers could cause any number of flying issues.
