"You, actually," the Joker replied in a matter-of-fact tone, "Which should shock the Arkham posse behind me, but it's true. Problem is, You don't remember much, do you?"

Gossamer gave him a puzzled little look once again. "Not anything recent. Or... past few months I suppose. Someone tossed the puzzle box in the garbage and I'm having a hell of a time finding all the pieces." she said. Then she tossed her head back to move some of the dark hair from her face.
"And... just what all would you know about me?" she asked.

"A far cry more than I'm going to mention in front of these chuckleheads, that's for sure," Joker said, looking over his shoulder, almost conspiratorially, at the guards and doctor, "But I need to tell you that Rosie is fine. I don't know if you remember her, but she's safe."

"Rosie?" Gossamer asked. Looking... more puzzled than she had before. "Who... who's Rosie?" She felt as though she should know. She felt as though she should REALLY know who Rosie was. But... she just could put the name to a face or memory.

"The little girl. YOUR little girl," Joker said, putting his head against the glass, trying to get as close to her as he could. "The girl you created from pure magic to be as a daughter to you. She's safe."

Gossamer stared at him for a long moment... her expression tight with thought. Her little girl? That... that would have been Julie. Their mother had died giving birth to her.. and she had taken it upon herself to raise her. But... she didn't create her with magic. And she certainly wouldn't be safe. She... she was killed years ago. And Janet had vowed to never have another child under her care because of what had happened to Julie.
"I... I don't remember. And I can't possibly have MADE myself a little girl. I wouldn't have done that to myself." she said. Honestly she wouldn't have done that to the CHILD. Not to another one. And yet... that sounded so familair.
A moment later, some bit of recognition flashed in her eyes. It was brief, but it was enough for any of them to notice. And.... just as quickly, her expression became... confused. Very confused.
"I... I made a little girl...?" she asked again.
She could see... remember rather... standing outside some old warehouse. Next to a dumpster... hiding behind it rather. She was in a hurry, and had one of her circles glowing on the ground. Then a chunk of the memory was gone again. And then there was... a little girl standing in front of her. Couldn't have been any older than Julie was. Bright red hair and red eyes. Not surprising... the spell had been red energy... such creations usually took some of the light pigments when they were formed. But the hair... the face... the smile... the dress... even the way she walked up and hugged her leg.... just like Julie.
That... that was a piece of a memory she didn't have before. And now that she had that... little flashes of the girl seemed to be poping up. Sitting down at a... a very large table to eat. She couldn't see who else was at the table, the memory only focused on the girl. Rosie. Then waking up with the little girl next to her in bed. She... she didn't recognize the bedroom. Chemicals all over the place. Couldn't have been one of her rooms. Then... then it was all gone again.
But... there was one thing. One very gripping thing that she could recal. Some deep feeling of worry. Panic. Something was definately wrong. She... she remembered the doctors saying something about her having panic attacks. She didn't remember them. Hell she didn't remember the doctors telling her why she was even arrested. They had to have though. She... she just didn't remember. But the feeling she just had. That... immidiate sence of danger... she had only had that feeling when she died the first time.
Woke up and realized that Julie was all alone at the house... and that the men who killed her would have no problem with killing off a child once they got there.
If... if that was the sort of feeling she was having, then...
"She's safe?" she asked. "I... I don't... I don't remember why. But..." she said, then sighed. "God, why don't I remember..." then she looked up at Joker, noticed the way he was leaning against the glass, then moved closer to the glass herself. "Where is she? Who is she supposed to be safe from?" she asked. The way he had reacted to her when he seen her... she didn't think he'd be one to be friends with her.

Dundee nodded. "I know him like he was my own brother, Misty. He doesn't hate ANYONE . . . he was just really upset. Well, still is. Hell, if he just heard the truth, I think he'd be alri- what's that?" Dundee asked. It was almost like he had a strange case of A-D-D . . . a very interesting case considering HE was the one granted superpowers.
Meanwhile, C.J. and Arell had switched from talking artists to talking about life. It was clear that the boys had some catching up to do after getting fired in Fort Worth.
"You shot FOUR guys in Nashville? Damn, that's awesome, dude! Did you have a snappy one-liner t' say afterwards?" C.J. asked. Arell looking at him funny, then smirked.
"I tol' de bartendah I wanted a slug of whiskey, an' some embalmin' fluid for de guys . . . dat work?" Arell asked as C.J. laughed a little.
"Well, I think we're gonna be in here a while, we can getcha some new mate- hey! I got an idea! Where's the Joker at? He's got some one-liners we could borrow!" C.J. suggested.

Misty smiled slightly. "When I called and they said that he didn't work there anymore, I was afraid I wasn't going to get to contact him again. I figured once I got settled in somewhere, I'd be able to try and track him down. Send him a letter expalining what happened and everything." she said. Then her smile widened and she moved the top envelope, revealing a larger envelope. The addresses, like the other envelope, were blank. This one, however, had stickers ALL over it. She flipped it over, revealing more stickers, and crayon scribbles. A fair guess who this letter was from. It also appeared to be over stuffed.
"The twins wanted to send CJ their own letter. Pictures rather. ... Scribbles." she said, then grinned and looked up at dundee. The large gray round blob is delores, the other blobs with stick arms and legs are people. Amanda is getting a little better at making them look like stick figures." she said, then looked back down at the letter. "I think there are some actual pictures in here too... they wanted me to send him some when we stopped at "pretty places." When I told him I was coming down to visit CJ today, they insisted I give Daddy his letter."

"I don't have enough time to explain properly," Joker replied, "But I will explain everything another time, if they let me. Just let it suffice for now to say that she's safe."

Gossamer frowned and stared back at Joker. "..... alright." she replied quietly. Calmly. Almost normal now compared to when she had been thrashing and cursing about only a short time ago. "...Thank you. Is there... anything else you wanted to talk about?" she asked.

Dundee smiled warmly at the mention of the kids. After all, he and Arell were honorary uncles to those kids! "Y'know I think we passed his and Arell's cell on the way in here. Would it be okay if we saw them, doctors?" Dundee asked. It would be good for C.J. to see her, maybe get the truth he needed . . . even in what he thought was his darkest hour. After all, the guys could use a little good going back their way. More so C.J. than Arell, but hey, kin is kin.

"Several things, but again, I'm just about out of time," the Joker said, regret in his voice, "With a little luck, though, we'll get other chances."
The clown backed up, and said, "I'll be seeing you around, Gossy baby." As the guards began leading him back towards his cell, he looked back at her and mouthed 'Call me' at Gossamer, making a phone with his hand, despite the fact that he couldn't bring it next to his head because of the chains.

Doctor Mattis smiled and motioned towards the door. "I see no reason why not." he replied. "He may be a little testy, but I'm sure he's had time to cool down. And if we explain a few things, and he sees his envelope from the children.... I'm sure he won't get too excited."
Misty nodded, then moved to stand and let the Doctor lead them out.
"Oh...and before we forget. The other reason we had you come up here. I know it seems like we have the source of his trouble sorted out, but there is also the bit with his... other mental state. The writers and other things he has talked about. Arkham doesn't really-" Mattis began, before Misty cut him off.
"Criminally insane, right?" Misty asked, looking back at him. "He's not like that, if that's what your needing. I've known him for three years, and he's never done anything to even begin warranting a stay here. He rarely talks about such things, and Vandal.... he did that for me. For our children. He doesn't belong here."
==================================
Gossamer moved as close as the glass as she could get, watching the man as he was led back to his cell. With her head pressed against the glass, she watched as he was led to his cell, then vanished from her line of sight inside of his own cell. It wasn't.... too terribly far from her, but it was far enough that there was no way she was going to be able to see or hear the man unless he was led back down the hall towards her again.
As the guards put the Joker back in his cell, Doctor Gray stood outside of his cell to make sure everything went alright as they took off all the chains and cuffs. "You certainly make more questions than answers..." she mused. "That was... an entirely different than your reaction to seeing her earlier. Why?" she asked.

"You go, girl! Tell 'em like it is! Free the C!!"
Did you just make up your own petition to be released?
" . . . maaaaaayyyybeeeeeeee."
Dundee smiled. "I'll go ahead and let 'em know you're coming. That way we can fix this finally. Wait, you SURE we're gonna let the crazy man with "no fourth wall" out of he- meh. Cobblepot's loose, I think he'll be okay." Dundee said, scratching his head . . . he didn't have an argument for Arell though. Best to keep quiet about HIM.
He wandered past the doctors and up towards the Cell C.J. and Arell were chilling in. Dun' knocked on the door as Arell came forward.
"Hey, fellas . . . Misty's on her way up!" Dundee said with a smile as Arell skritched his head.
"Which one, che'? Remember, dey TWO!" Arell asked in a whisper as C.J. came down.
"The REAL one! I 'ssure you. No ******** this time!" Dundee said as Arell gave him a death glare.
"Dey BETTER not!" Arell growled as C.J. walked forward.
"Waaaaaait. Misty? Here? Didn't I just yell at her in the cell? The ******** goin' on here?" C.J. asked. To be truthful, he was starting to get miiiiiighty confused.
