All I ever wanted was to find the True King, and get, the others still stand in my way. I have given them no harm, no trouble, I have waited this long, and my prize is to be betrayed by everything I embrace, again.
Mjoll was tempted to differ, learning that you didn't exist, that you were but a figment of an imagination. There was harm there, unintentional? Perhaps, but still it hurt, this was selfish of the voice. She couldn't help but feel that it was wrong.
Current Location: Tower Base Character description:
Mjoll's well built with an hourglass figure. Her long blonde hair was left unbraid but with some pulled up in a bun so as not to drag the ground. Her ice blue eyes are as hollow as her soul. She has a plain cream dress on with white shoes.
((Enter)) Once inside, Jericho paused as he heard the Voice speak, and then suddenly everything had gone deaf. He should hear the footsteps of others. Hear them murmuring to one another. But instead, there was nothing. He growled lowly at this, but just went on to ascend.

It was a little unnerving, going up in this silence. Jericho didn't let that hinder him. The desire to reach the top was far too great.
Just as he thought this, the Voice could be heard speaking to him. It sounded rather displeased with him. He just growled lowly, unable to hear himself as he did so.
The voice did not give him purpose. The one it gave him was shallow. Fake. Just like everything else in this godforsaken place.

And so he continued on, fists clenched tight. While he could see others making their way up as well, there was little point in trying to speak with them. It was likely a safe assumption that no one could hear anything here.

And then finally, he was done with the first set of stairs. But before he stepped off, he could hear the Voice once more, and he didn't seem particularly happy either. Jericho just snorted at that. He couldn't give a single damn about this whole True King crap any longer.
Yes. When he was still nothing but a literal pawn, he gave everything to see to it that the black king would become True.
But it was all a farce.

The lack of hearing was possibly what unnerved him the most, and the big man uncomfortably lifted his hands to his head, tapping at his ears as though wondering why, exactly, they'd stopped working.
No time to think about that. He had to keep climbing.

Oh, yeah. Except he was nothing but a big, fat fake. The thought was both humiliating and depressing all at once.

It was strange to watch other pass him by, others ahead, climbing higher, while their footfalls made no sound. His steps shook the floor beneath him as Kiwi climbed, but made not a sound. He couldn't rely on sound here. He must rely on sight. And with that he hurried up the tower stairs.
He was making good time. Already the floor seemed farther below him. He had to press on though. It was untelling where Lifen or the others were by now. He hoped they were safe.
At some point, Kiwi began to realize just how tiring this climb might become. He also realized his wings were nothing more than wallflowers at the moment, not that it would matter much, as flightless as they were. But still, he could at least gain some extra height if he had them.
And then a voice spoke, a chillingly familiar voice. The Voice. Kiwi's gaze shifted towards the distant top of the tower. You mistake me for a fool. He thought. I am no figment, I am a horseman of the apocalypseand I will show you just what I am made of.
The separation of senses was acute, and debilitating at first. No more sounds, was his sight next? Touch? The first instinct was the touch the impaired pieces, the curve of the bell of his ear was still there and not drifting away like smoke.
The act of pantomiming had begun, acting out the words to "Can you hear me?" with the flick of a wrist and directive pointing to his fellow travelers as they went up the stars, sammy taking point and G barreling up the stairs after her.
It must have been nice to have that much leg strength.

Almost there. Kiwi ran with a fury now. How dare the enemy insult his pride. If there had been sound in the tower here, his steps would have rattled with echoes down.
