Rin blinked at the newly offered chair as if it had just spontaneously combusted before her very eyes. Well, okay. One more couldn't hurt. Right?

She reached out and repeated the action but almost missed her mark that time.

"Okay but I'm sure you can do the next one... just repeat what I did."

Rep watched intently as Rin showed one last time how to open out the chair, setting it down alongside the others. "Thanks!" he beamed. "I'll be right back."

Like a proud kid he wandered over to Harrison to show off his new skill. "Look, look man!" He smugly reached out to unhook the chair - not quite leaving it enough leeway to come loose. "Tah-dah!"

It got stuck.

"Oh for ******** sake!" he held it out hopelessly. "Help me."

It was nice, standing here and cooking with a fellow trainee. It certainly wasn't something that she got to do too often, and with the atmosphere and the (seemingly, in her mind) happy chattering of all the other trainees and hunters...

Eva found herself giving a small smile of contentment. God knows this wouldn't last for long--soon enough, they'd all be on a battlefield again, fighting monsters and trying not to lose each other in the fight--but for now, this was enough. Turning to cast Minerva a grin, she nodded enthusiastically. "I know, right? Granted that I think a lot of the food will be from cans thanks to the portal thing but...it's nice, isn't it? And yeah--Melvin and the others definitely deserve some thanks for setting this up."

She went back to making the crust then, working quickly. Glancing over at Minerva's proclamation that she was done, Eva shot her a thumbs up in approval. "Pretty much done! Just need to refrigerate for an hour, but then we can pour the filling in and bake for about half an hour." Wiping her hands off on a cloth, she went to grab some plastic wrap for the crust and the filling and popped them into the fridge for the time being.

"Ah ha, thanks for the help! Should we go out and see if there's anything we can do with the decorations now?"

Where did he put them? Where? Not with the canned food. He wanted to make sure the cooks had plenty of counter space to work on. Not on the dirty floor. Melvin walked into the kitchen, looking around, and started opening cabinets. He put them safe. He knew he did. Where did he put them?

After wandering around just looking lost, Melvin leaned against the counter and looked around the kitchen. He didn't take them far. He knew they'd need them. Damnit, he always did this!

Melvin.

Not now, Saliva.

Melvin, look over.

Blinking, he turned over and looked over. There was the sink and inside were the plates, cups, and silverware he had washed early that morning.

"Oh right!"

You're welcome.

He picked the plates up and walked into the living room, setting them down before seeing a broken chair on the ground. Confused, he went over and picked it up, only to have a part dangle from it's screws. "What the heck?"

Harrison paused from unfolding a chair to unstick Rep's.

He watched Melvin try to understand what was left of Rep's latest furniture-related victim.

"You got to treat them soft," Harrison said with exaggerated refinement. He expertly flicked the metal rung from Rep's chair into place. "And nice," He took hold of the seat. "Like delicate flowers." He spread the chair apart, then slowly smoothed out the plastic cushion, before firmly pushing it against the table.

"...Flowers that you and I are going to have to go pick again from all the way down the ******** hall."

Rep put his chair down neatly, trying to make it look like he was one hundred percent responsible for its assembly. Harrison just, nudged him in the right direction was all. Yes. He was really good at this, he'd managed to do two with no problems and had only broken two. He was on a roll.

However, watching Harrison's nimble finesse with his own example of unfolding a chair pretty much cemented that he couldn't get away with bluffing he knew how to do it in comparison. His attention span in chair building hit its cut-off point.

Instead he edged over to hover near to the moon hunter, close enough for his words to be edged into affection rather than snideness.

"Hey, mister ******** show off. How about I like, leave you to your little garden here like. And go get this party some booze? Do you think Goldilocks would whine?"

"Ha, whine? He's seasonably obligated to thank you," Harrison closed the distance as he pulled over another chair, nudging Rep, "and I'd be pretty grateful myself."

He straightened the chair out with the same care he'd given the last one.

"Garden parties are thirsty work."

Rep paused to patiently watch Harrison set up the chair, his voice low, smiling approvingly. "I like the sound of that. "

He rested his chin fleetingly on Harrison's shoulder. "I'll be right back then, with hopefully more booze than even Jerry can chug down. I'll hold you to that gratefulness."

The pinch as he left was vengeance for the nudge.

"I'll be back with more booze Melvin." he barked at the blonde man as he passed him.

"I'll just... get to dispersing these now that the cloth is down," Jerry suddenly piped up. Jordan was quiet. Their last conversation had not gone well and there was the whole evening ahead of them... He gathered the finished napkin turkeys up to hurry over where Harrison and rep had already set chairs down. Carefully, he juggled without crushing them to pull out his flask again as subtly as he could.

It was going to be a long evening. But it would be nice. He would enjoy himself.

He was humming as he met the other two, flask away again as he carefully set a turkey down at every chair.

"I always assumed canned turkey was a whole tiny little turkey that was shoved into a can... But that sounds like fun too! Let's mold the canned meat into a bird! We should do that!" Hazel's eyes widened with excitement. It actually sounded kinda fun."Hey, I may be small but this gaping face hole of mine can pack an elephant sized meal," and she was dead proud of that too, even if it was a bit exaggerated. Just a bit...

When the two of them finally made it out of the kitchen and arrived at the decoration station again, she was asked to get off his backside. "Ha, Gingersnaps. That's a good one. I'll call you Banana Bandana but Banana for short." Hazel gave Otto a quick noogie before hopping off his back.

"Jordan, Jerry... This is Banana," she gestured to Otto, "Make him feel welcome." she held up her bag to rest it onto the table, "So... I couldn't find any dry foods at first glance, so I randomly grabbed-" two peeled potatoes, and several cans of corn, yams, haggis, and beans, "-these instead. This can work right?"

Rin watched as Rep toddled off to try and impress Harrison. A smirk played on her lips. He was almost like a child sometimes, I swear. She half expected Rep to try and tug Harrison's non existent hair.

She looked back to where Melvin had wandered off and waited patiently for his return. Which was a surprising amount of time. She was starting to wonder if he'd gone and lost himself next when he emerged again. She flashed him a fleeting smile before swooping right in to grab the plates and carefully hold them close to her chest.

"I'm on it," she told him as she hurried up to go around the table; placing a plate with mild difficulty in front of every turkey. She had to set the entire stack down at each spot to place one carefully and rather squarely on the table. A few turkeys missed their mark - but that's okay. Rin's here to make them straight and parallel to the others.

Melvin failed to hide the cringe of concern when Rin scooped up the plates and went to set them about. His worry was that they would break and Rin would feel bad about it, which meant he'd have another great display of failed comfort. Instead, she was handling it better than he thought.

Breathing a sigh of relief, he turned. "I'll get the glasses and silverware." He told her, before heading back to the kitchens. He returned in much less time than he had when searching for the plates, and set the glasses and silverware on the table for Rin to take care of.

"I'm going to check the kitch-" He paused when Rep went past to tell him he would be getting booze, which he had mixed feelings on. Sure, he loved to have more liquor about, but he and Harrison were already frisky enough. Oh well. Booze won over public affection. "Thanks Rep." He told the redhead but already saw him rush off.

Shrugging, he headed into the kitchens to see how things were going.

Minerva wore an unusually cheery smile of her own, fixed to her lips as if she never planned on letting it go.

"Yeah, but we'll make it work. And you're right! Everyone will deserve a big thanks after this!" She nodded with a chuckle, shrugging both shoulders before setting her utensils down. "Oh yeah!" Snapping her fingers and wrinkling her nose, Minnie moved to the side, giving Eva the space she needed to search the cabinets. Before both bowls were put away, the trainee muttered. "I totally forgot those needed to be chilled!" Rubbing at her arm. Her mother had done so a dozen times if not more in the past, and Minerva was not one to forget things easily...so she turned a bit red from embarrassment, happy to move along with the flow of the conversation.

Must be all the excitement getting to her head.

"Of course, it was my pleasure!" Stepping toward the sink again, Minnie quickly rinsed her hands and then turned just in time to spot Melvin . Before she could answer Eva, the trainee took the opportunity to wave the blond down. "Hey, Melvin! Mind coming over here really quickly?" He was a little too far to start shouting out introductions, so Minnie waited, glancing back to the dark haired woman. "I think that's a good plan! I'm sure there are still some things left for us to do. Here comes Melvin, maybe he can point us in the right direction?"

Melvin saw that everyone was all rather busy before looking over as Minerva waved him over. Turning, he headed over. "No. I don't mind at all. What's up?" He asked, looking around to see how things were going. He also paused a moment. "I also don't think I properly thanked you guys for showing up. Thank you."

It didn't take Rep too long to get all the way across the facility to his storeroom, When he finally did he picked up all the booze he had bar two bottles of whisky kept for a serious emergency and piled them all into a black bin bag. He had a few six packs of beer and lager but it was primarily hard spirits like vodka and whisky. This accomplished he headed back to the little gathering, stopping to pick up a certain ukulele on the way out.

When he got back, he protectively set down his booze off to one side, leery to put it in the kitchen where it would be out of his sight. This accomplished he turned his attention to Jerry, setting the instrument down on a clear patch of table in front of him.

"Consider it paid off. This time."

He headed back to the booze stash to get himself a half bottle of whisky out that he felt he had entirely earned. Generosity was hard work.
