It seemed like an infinite spanse of time had passed between when he and Rep sat down to when Jordan, looking pale and distant, wandered through the portal. He wasn't grey. He wasn't coming apart. But the expression reminded Harrison of the Jordan they'd gotten back from the Sahara. Right now, he looked...near emptied out.

Harrison watched him, wary, as the Moons took his vitals. The expression stayed the same, eyes only for Ferros.

Jordan was here. He was alive.

But there were six of them, and now they were down to three.

Rep started to cry. Harrison willed himself to unknot his fingers from Rep's jacket, and calmly, methodically rubbed his shoulder.

He didn't need to be getting soppy, he needed to think- and for him, being human wasn't an insurmountable setback. He'd been hurt before. Had to deal with danger, gunfire, assaults- booked it when things got bad. And he did it all without a Fear shield.

I'm sorry.

"Jerry," Harrison said, setting B0nez in his lap and reaching to get a hold of the other man's arm, to make sure he was listening, "There's gonna be a lot of demand for Runics. You stop by the desk and you pick up whatever you're qualified for. If you got to sleep, you sleep with one eye open. We're not out of the woods yet."

He relaxed his grip, more gentle with Rep, "Come on," he repeated, quietly, "same goes for us. Jordan's gonna need you."

He tucked B0nez under one arm, then eased painfully off the cot, making sure every movement was slow and that Rep was with him and keeping a hand at Rep's side.

Jerry stopped short as Harrison caught him, staring down at the hand on his arm with knit brows as though not sure what Harrison was getting at. Runics? "I'm only... cleared for a torch. Doesn't... do much good without a weapon to combine it with, ahahahaha..." His voice wavered, the laugh clearly forced, his face still trembling. Any moment he looked about ready to break down again.

"I'm useless without Roar," He whispered quietly.

The look on Jordan's face did not help matters. If Alpha One had lost faith....

Ariane didn't say a lot upon returning; she just stood around for a bit, Kintama's weapons tablet under one day, staying in the room long enough to see Bix and Ceres being taken away. Once they covered their faces with the white cloth, reality finally hit - Bix was dead, and so was that girl she never got to know. The only words that she had ever said to her - and it wasn't even exclusive - were 'I'm sorry', and that was right before she died.

From where she was standing, she could see Gale - he looked like he was in a pretty bad shape, and she couldn't blame him. She had only recently reconnected with Bix, but the sense of loss she felt was pretty great. It wasn't at the same level of when they found out that Dean was never going to make the cut, but the ache was there... She paused, taking one tentative step towards the younger boy, only to stop.

What should she say? She was never good at comforting others... It wasn't one of those things that she was good at. Besides, she hadn't spoken to Gale for a long, long time - was she really in the position to go talk to him right now? Maybe he just needed to grief... The same way she needed to grief. Not with a large group of people, all trying to comfort one person... No.

She walked away, passing Ryan with Wilson and someone she did not recognize. His arm was still untreated, and although she did not know why - or how - Caelius came to break it, she couldn't help but feel that his heart was in the right place. It had to be. He was kind enough to share a room with her when hers was in shambles, and although she was a terrible roommate, he had tolerated her. Or she liked to think that he accepted her.

Their hearts were in the right place... Right?

She slowed to a stop, her gaze focused on a figure standing alone; he was brooding again - she could tell, even if she wasn't sure why. Maybe they've spent too much time together lately... Either way, she wasn't about to just leave him there. He would just poison himself with his thoughts. There were others she was worried about - Deryk and Robert, for example, just to name a few - but for now?

Turning on her heels, she headed straight for Jude, putting an arm around his shoulder. Giving him a nudge, she gestured at the exit, "Shall we?"

Rep stayed latched to Harrison, struggling as hard as he could to get these damn emotions back into check, lock them back in their cages where they belonged. He didn't used to cry about anything, hardships just solidified the cold indifference. When had that changed? When had he become so ******** weak?

And yet Harrison somehow in spite of it all sounded..well it wasn't optimistic. Grim. Resolute. He gulped audibly and tried to reign in the sobs, focused on anything but the magnitude of their situation, anything but the yawning space in his thoughts. He wiped his eyes on the forearm holding Tracey's tablet and took a deep shivering breath, eyes raw looking from tears. There was no point in trying to pretend he hadn't been - what was a little more shame where they all stood.

Even as he leaned on Harrison, still refusing to let him go, Jerry got a surprisingly soft, sympathetic look, Rep much too ragged to care about his usual bravado. "You aren't ******** useless." it was stupidly difficult to talk with the fading reflexive sobs but he persevered, glaring, taking inspiration from Harrison's comments, trying to redirect things, not to feel so helpless. "They wouldn't want us to just give up."

For the longest time whenever Ariane touched him he'd tensed up and then that stopped for a while, but now it was like when they first met, his first instinct was to reject her and to push her away as his body tensed and vitriol built within him but suddenly he couldn't think of what to say or even bring himself to reject the attempt at comfort she was trying to give him - no matter how awkward it might have been.

She was still trying.

Accept it. Go with it. That is what Yom would have said. His fingertips clutched tighter at the tablet he was hugging to his chest. Despite all of Yom's quietness and occasional teasing ... he missed her now, that constant presence that always seemed 'asleep' but never quite. It was funny how he became so dependant on her and now...Ariane. Would it be okay to depend upon her?

After a few moments Jude relaxed and he gave a small nod to Ariane, "Alright," he didn't need health care. If they were allowed to go at will then he would go at least somewhere where it was less crowded and so he could think clearly. He stood up on his own two feet and quietly turned toward Ariane his face still shrouded, "Lead the way."

"A torch'll work just fine," Harrison said, "And what he said. You're not useless. You still got a brain. You're still a Sun."

Harrison eased down beside Jordan. "Hey," he said, gentle, brushing Jordan's arm with his fingers. It was taking all his restraint not to just pull him over and hold him close, but no matter what Harrison wanted it was about what Jordan needed- and if he needed some space or time, Harrison would do the best he could. He didn't want to spook him, not sure if the small word and touch would shake the distant expression or not.

The touch, the voice and presence - something in Jordan eased, just a little. He didn't have to go look for them. His left hand came up to curl into Harrison's shirt, and he leaned into him like a lifeline; he tried to say something, sorry, I'm okay, I need, but his throat closed and choked off the words and no sound emerged.

He scooped Ferros's tablet up in the curl of his arm and clung to Harrison, not caring how that might look to anyone else. He was incomplete, and he needed what he had left.

No running after, just let things happen as they happen. Lex looked older than he normally did, tired, the way that an emotion could change a person and add a certain time to them. She couldn't hide the small frown as she sat and laid himself in her lap. She preferred him smiling. Then again, she preferred people smiling in general.

Otto got up, Ami joining him, and lightly, she gave them both a small wave. She wanted to comfort them, but didn't know how. She was unsure so- fall back to a smile, look for the hope, the positive. Try what she knew. "Hey Lex?" She pet his hair, trying to not talk too much. "Do you wanna go lay down? I can get you something to eat if you want." Her mind ran over what the cafeteria might have. "Or do you just wanna lay down a bit like this for a while? If you nap though, I dunno if I'll be able to carry you to the dorms though." She pat the grass. "It just feels nice to see color again."

She just wanted to help, but was unsure how to do so properly.

Saya knelt down, her eyes panicking as Ryan punched the ground. The ground was quite solid and quite painful, her hands rushing over to try and uselessly stop Ryan by holding onto his arm.

The drama, the entirety of the situation, even affected the star-themed trainee, as she kept her grip tight on Ryan's arm to prevent him from doing further damage to his body.

"You dont want a perfectly useful arm to heal---- Don't say you don't want it. Locke would and you're going to get Locke back. When you get him back, you cant be forever impaired. Ryan."

Saya knew her words were probably useless-- but Ryan, doing such useless things like this, was even more so. He couldn't just be so insensible-- Or he was, actually.

Wilson leaned and let Saya fret over Ryan’s useful arm. He kept the tablet balanced in his lap while he stuffed his hands into his hoodie’s pockets. “It’s too soon to say whether or not we’ll get our weapons back,” he remarked cynically, “but it’s better to think optimistically, I suppose.” Again, he bit the inside of his cheek before he took out a hand to grab his weapon tablet. He stood up slowly, the corners of his lips twitching.

“Has it occurred to you yet that I’m worried about your wellbeing?” There was no irritation or any sort of passive-aggression. Only exhaustion and genuine worry. “I don’t want to see another familiar face back in the pod, or worse.” As he flicked his gaze away there was a glimmer of regret before he held out his free hand toward Ryan.

“Are you going to get someone to look at that arm?” he asked again, giving Saya a look for medical assistance should the need arise. She was the moonie, after all.

Ofelia had been delayed in returning to the fold, her hesitation on leaving the field her evident hold back. She had wanted to see if Mort and Belladonna were okay, the weakness of that relationship still wanting to be strong in her mind, but there was nothing else she could do. Before she left she didn't see either of them, not that she could get a good luck during all the chaos, and even as she ran away she noticed that she hadn't seen Before in all the mess.

What she had seen, and what she arrived on the tail end of, was the bodies of Bix and Ceres being led away on stretchers. They'd been covered in white sheets, their bodies soon to be burned or buried in that cold ground, and she bit her lower lip as they departed the area.

It was hard to describe what she felt. There was a strong wave of disgust, perhaps, at the weakness that had spread through the mind and body of a person she had considered one of her closest friends. She had seen him in her illusion, called out his names in spars, and got hugs from him when she needed him most. Ceres, the girl who had changed. . .was she his lover? It was weird, Ofelia had always thought (and wrongly so) that he and Molly were together. It was not a pleasant mistake to make, both of them were dead so it didn't matter.

The other part she felt, was it sorrow? Regret? Did Ofelia feel like there was something she could have done, something that would have helped prevent them from dying like this? She doubted it, highly, because they had to be destroyed. Cael. . . had said so, but he was dead now so a lot of good his orders had been. Rep had been the one to properly kill Bix, even though she'd helped in a manner of speaking, so there was nothing she felt purely sorry for. Those who had been defending Ceres were likely to feel far worse than she was, mostly because they failed entirely when she was turned to stone, and so a quick glance around at all the tearful faces let her know that this incident was weighing heavily on minds and hearts.

Ofelia hadn't known Ceres, hadn't really cared to know her. If she needed to weep it would only be for Bix, and even then she didn't know how to properly mourn. Just like with Killzone she would just stand there, awkwardly looking down at a grave, and end up saying nothing as the time ticked by. Talking to a dead person, expressing sorrow and regrets and everything else, seemed like a waste of time. Perhaps it was because Ofelia didn't understand loss too well or perhaps it was because she simply kept everything in a constant state of denial. It was so much easier to pretend nothing happened or just to accept it as a natural order. Bix and Ceres had been weak, it was why they got turned by their weapons and perished at the hands of their fellow teammates.

The teen could say that all she wanted, think that all she wanted, but her body was more honest. Standing near the center of the group, trying to get out of the room before trouble happened, Ofelia threw up all over the floor.

Melvin didn't know what to think. He had seen someone who was vastly more powerful than him who had to have lots of experience due to being a leader of their group be torn apart limb by limb and yet it didn't sink in aside from the first reaction that made him give up his lunch back where the monsters were. Aside from that, the rest wasn't sinking in, and he wondered exactly what it would do when the events of the day settled down to absorb into his mind. If anything, he only left a great deal of relief and gratefulness that he wasn't dead. His failure was a shared on in that he had a tablet like everyone else, but such a large problem would be addressed. They were a big part of the group fighting, right? There had to be tech to fix these problems or loopholes that could them reassignments. When he spoke to Otto about getting back to the labs to fix his own weapon, he had meant it. Saliva on the other hand did not.

Well what does it matter. She's dead now. Wasn't really alive to begin with.

And there was no response. His mind was quiet, and he took a breath as he noticed this. He had only had the voice in his head a month, but it had been like sandpaper against his own comfort zone. He didn't share his thoughts with anyone that having the weapon around had been a bother aside from her benefits in the battlefield (which he knew now wasn't his strong suit anyways). Aside from that, she was a nuisance and a bother. It made him grit his teeth to have a voice in his head where no thoughts were his own and where he couldn't get a moment's peace without bribing or outright shouting for just a few minutes of his own silence. Without Saliva, he felt normal again.

That was until he looked to the tablet. Like Otto, he had no shield now and no weapon. While he liked the ideas of no missions and thus not dying gruesomely like the others, where would he go? He was dead by all records outside of this place, and Deus had no use for people without weapons. They were in a gray area - but surely this had to have happened before? They had procedures for this or maybe some magic dust to fix it all. While he didn't want Saliva in his head, the idea of being completley useless and stuck for all his life not doing anything aside from getting under foot was even more horrible for him. He liked being useful and had signed up to help the cause and learn - but all doors could be shut on him if he didn't have a weapon as a sign of capacity.

He watched as others around him cried against each other, two stretchers leaving while others still were statues. Dead. Not dead but not alive. And the rest of them defenseless. Did he jump on this boat and give up his entire life as a sacrifice only to stay here on a defeated island? He hoped not and couldn't believe it. The rest were suffering from personal loss to people he did not know. What few people he recognized were still new acquaintances, but these people had been here for a while and their short time together meant something. No wonder they were dying. Without family and friends in the real world, this was all they had.

Is this .......all I have then?

His thoughts went back to Sophie in the fog, calling him back to not to through the door. That there would be, at some point, a second chance. he knew she wasn't real now. An illusion, which meant there was no other chance. He wouldn't see her again unless it was in a dream.

This place was all he had and right now, it was in ruins.

At Rep's words, Jerry's eyes dropped down to his shoes, his face struggling between turning green and turning red.

"I... I should... go." He mumbled, feeling awkward as Jordan and Harrison embraced.

He missed Sasha. He was fairly confident she didn't want to hear about his.... bad day.

Ryan didn't say a word, or rather he couldn't. Not without allowing his anger to get the better of him and lash out again. Instead he just sat there as Saya restrained his arm, preventing him from punching the ground a second time and causing more damage than bruised knuckles. He did however, during that time, allow their words time to sink in.

They were right of course. They didn't know what the situation was with their weapons. There was a strong possibility that they would come back in time and ignoring and allowing his arm to heal improperly wouldn't change what had already happened. If anything, it would only hinder him in the future and make his friends worry more. Saya was right, if Locke was still present in his mind, he wouldn't allow this kind of behaviour and would tell him what an idiot he was being.

"Sorry..." He muttered, unable to look the two of them in the eye until Wilson offered him a hand getting up. He hesitated a moment, before finally reaching his own back and getting to his feet and nodded. The sooner he got it tended to, the sooner they could get out of here.

Time passed, and the Moon had no real need to be there. After all, the scant few senior Moons had done a good enough job thus far, and there was but a trickle of new faces arriving.

He categorised the few people he knew and remembered, sorting them into lists separated by divisions, sorted by ranking. Anything to pass the time, to keep his mind off of the inevitable question.

Being so quiet had its downsides: and that meant that he knew perhaps a handful of people at best. Most of the familiar faces had left by now, and there was an itching in his bones, a twist of some...unfamiliar feeling.

Syntax Error had kept himself oddly quiet, and in the background, expressed something besides amusement: fear, and displayed it in both code and a mental image, projecting confused lines, painted with an angry red.
