Jaromila led the way back to where they had talked with Serenity, hoping they had not gone anywhere. Soon she saw the pink mare and she motioned to Beta.
"Seems your mother decided to wait for us,"she noted.

Beta nodded, speeding up to a canter when she saw her mother. Haides had found it a little tedious, but the mare loved that their adopted mother was always watching out for them and waiting for them. For Beta, it was a very reassuring thing; she'd always have people looking out for her... She slowed when she reached her mother, beaming. She didn't speak because of the coin in her mouth, though.

Jaromila soon arrived and she bowed her head politely at Serenity, smiling at the interaction.
"Hello, my little one, I see you got back here safely. What did the two of you find?"Serenity asked, patting the ground to let her daughter know she could put it there.
"We found a coin and some kind of thing we do not know what it is called,"Jaromila explained.

Placing the coin down where Serenity had indicated, Beta added onto what Jaromila had said. "Uh-huh! One of the ticking things that tell time," she said happily.

"That is a watch, little ones. Yes it does tell time and I know our human friends find it very useful,"Serenity replied.
"Do you think Lady Dea's friend might like one of these?"Jaromila asked.
"It is possible,"Serenity replied.

That was right. It was a watch! Beta smiled brightly. "Let's find out!" She was excited to see if Dea's friend would do a cartwheel for them.

"Dea dear, the girls are back with some things they think Ed may like,"Serenity called into the house. Dea popped her head out of the window and nodded.
"Alright, I will get in touch with my brother-in-law,"Dea assured.
"I hope he likes these, because we really want to see him do a cartwheel,"Jaromila admitted.

"Uh-huh! And then we can tell Haides about it when he comes home," Beta added cheerfully. She knew the stallion would definitely have stories to tell them. She wanted something for them to tell him about too!

"I am sure Haides would love to hear a story from the two of you when he comes home. It will be quite a story to tell, especially if Ed decides to show off,"she laughed.
"I have always been curious about cartwheels and other moves that humans can do,"Jaromila admitted.

Beta beamed. She hoped he did. She wanted a good story to tell Haides! She made a face at Jaromila's comment. "I still want to know why so many love expressions sound so painful!" It just didn't make sense to her.

"Hmmm, that is a very good question,"Jaromila nodded her head. There was a lot of things she wanted to learn about humans, things that confused her.

"Even the analogy's sound unfun," Beta complained. "One time I heard someone say 'Love is a hurricane'. That doesn't sound good at all!" Considering how wonderful love apparently was, they sure didn't give it any good descriptions.

"I do not think I have heard that one, but it definitely sounds like it would hurt,"Jaromila admitted. She wondered why humans would say such a thing, considering that was not how love felt to her.

Beta nodded. "I just don't get it. Why don't they compare love to nice things? Like flowers or rainbows or shinies or... or... the sun!"

"Maybe they do and you just do not know it, Beta. Maybe there are nice things love is like as well,"Mila suggested. She looked over to Serenity and Dea, Serenity nodding her head.
