Even though I said I wouldnt care what others think. I have to post this

This is how it went for me. Now since I've had time to look back and think about it

I have a small group of friends. Consitsting of mostly girls

I've known most of them since 6th grade. So after knowing them for a few years I felt fairly happy with the group of friends I had, happyer since I their the most friends I've ever had for such a long time since I always move! Anyways... So I've known them for a few years. In the winter of 2003 (8th grade) I finally admited to my self I was bi/les, and have been for..well my whole life. So about 6 month later in June of 2004 about two weeks before we graduated and school ended I finally told them. It was at lunch after I had gotten of work (I worked in the school kitchen) We where all standing around when I finally got the balls to tell them

Magen "Hey Kathrin, are you a lesbain?"
Me "No....I'm bi"
Friends *gasp*
Magen "Oh my god! thats SO gross!
Joanna"Your kidding me"
Me "I'm not joking. I'm bi. I like girls and guys in the same way"
Everyone "Thats just so wrong!"

Feeling like trash I walk off. The library is closed at lunch and I had no where else to go so I sat infront of the library, with my face barried in my knees to hide my tears. I could still hear them on the other side of the doors talking about it since they were only 25 feet and wall away from me. Magen was telling anyone who walked by who would listen that I was "a ******** lesbain" So by class almost everyone knew and was asking me if it was true. I just shruged and said 'Yeah, I'm bi." I just ignored it and tryed to go on knowing that summer break would give them time to get over it.

Most of them are over it. There a few people from my school who didnt know they being my two friends Kendra and Jarry. Kendra dosent think I'm about to hit on her and Jarry is just Jarry. He still sees me as Kathrin.

But the majoty of my friends.... Magen and Angela still insalt me. And the others have made some rude comments about it.

I realized I was Bi after I was raped at age 12. I Am currently 14 and have been Bi for two years yet I haven't told anyone except for hinting it to a friend. My being raped was spread around the school making it even harder to tell my friends I was Bi. My mother would filp so It isn't a good time , because she is suffering from cancer. You can say it might be my secret for awhile.

Okay, my family really didn't have a choice in their reactions. My grandma is a lesbian, so when I told my parents about myself, they just nodded and said "okay".

yes having a lesbian grandmother is very cool. Everyone blames here for my sexuality, nature vs. nurture, and all that you know. But I wasn't truly raised around my grandmother. I don't really think I knew she was gay till about 6th grade, I'm not too sure if I knew what gay was at that age. I can't honestly say I remember things like that from back then...

I told my mom first, she took it well but she said she wanted grandchilderen. xd

Then she told my dad, he said the same thing but I dunno if he really doesn't mind.. It's doesn't seem so, but he doesn't say anything. xp

I'm not really ashamed or secretive about my sexuality, but I really don't feel the need to sit down my parents just to tell them. If they ask me sure, or if the conversation is in that direction yeah, but that's the only way I see them finding out.

No one I've told has been overly surprised so far. My Mom wasn't surprised when I told her I was lesbian and my roomie had expected it all along and even made a joke of it.

Me: I'm not straight.

Roomie: So does that make you Squiggly?

Me: Nope, it makes me diagonal.

Roomie: Oh okay. blaugh

What was more fun was asking her bf later on if he was squiggly, to which he replied that he was circular. After that, my roomie and I had creating symbols for various preferences. (yes, it was 2am when we did that sweatdrop ). So a couple days after all that and thoroughly confusing my roomie's bf with all our hidden shape reference, I told him. The best part was the practiced look of surprise he gave when i told him. whee He was very much expecting me to come out for a while. I still have a lot of people to tell, but I'll do that whenever i think the right moment is. 3nodding
