"I highly doubt it," he replied. "there is like...no way they could have grabbed the kiddoes and made off with them across this so quickly. I'm almost sure of it..."
He was pretty sure of it. Now the only question was just what was this guy planning that would require him to take them along such a treacherous route... And that could be any number of things... Vainamo had a good imagination, despite being a poor thinker.

"I think you're right," she replied. Oh, how tired she was getting! Clearly Sarcire needed to exercise more. Or something. She wasn't sure if there was anything to prepare one for wandering up and down mountains, other than doing that very activity.
"It always seems as if cubs get heavier the longer you carry them," she mused aloud.

Vainamo was starting to get tired as well. The adrenaline that had been fueling him earlier was starting to fade, and he was getting so tired. His limbs felt heavier the longer they walked...

Letting out a quiet yawn, Dante contemplated just going home. Or going somewhere else. Maybe he could find a cub in the rogue lands and call it even. That seemed a far better solution... And easier. Rogue cubs were easier to grab than ones in prides, after all. Far less eyes. He rose and stretched, before creeping his way back for the border. Yeah, he'd do that. He'd just find a cub out in the rogue lands... Nab it... And then bring it home and call it a day. Easy, simple... And less of a headache for the tan and blue lion.

The conversation of the two lion escorts besides Ram was not falling on deaf ears with Furiko. He was listening as they were riddling out what he was doing leading them over such a tough terrain. He really didn't care how much they riddled it. This direction did sooner or later lead back to the pride but by the time they got there the pride would be ready and waiting and the three would be in trouble then. Furiko couldn't have been more amused by that thought than any other but he kept his amusement off his face and tried to keep a look of concentration at all times. These three didn't need to know he was amused that would just make their suspicision worse.

"Well, that's what cubs are supposed to be for," she offered to Vainamo with a small, though tired, smile. Where on earth was this lion leading them? The genet had been quiet for far too long, and she really doubted this was taking them where they wanted to go.
"Oh I hope we find them soon!"

Vainamo was being quieter and so Sarcire lapsed into silence as well. Not that this was really what she wanted, being alone with her own thoughts. It just made her more and more nervous.
The lioness gasped aloud as she tripped and fell on her face. The rocks below were sharp enough to cut, leaving bloody gouges in her fur.
Then...suddenly she caught a familiar scent! Her siblings!
"They're close! I can smell them!" The lioness struggled back to her feet.

As he was heading back, Dante became acutely aware of just how close they were to the Kizingo'zaa lands. His jaw dropped as his eyes widened. Furiko had been leading them around in circles, yes, but they'd also ended up right where the other lions wanted them to be - Near the cubs. And as luck would have it, another lion had made off with another cub. Squaring his jaw, Dante dropped low to hopefully help surprise these lions and end up with THEM as either prisoners or left in the dust while the others fled.

Vainamo leapt to help Sarcire in her stumble, but ended up stumbling himself.
"That's probably your own blood," he replied with a bit of a grin. After all, didn't siblings smell pretty much the same, no matter the age?
Hey, no one said he was smart.
He then sighed and looked back to Ram and their thief guide.
"But I do think I have an idea of why we've been lead this way," He looked at Furiko, who probably wasn't even paying him any mind, "You've intentionally taken us a way that would take forever. You're planning something, but what? An ambush? This was all just to bide time for your pride to get ready for us, right?"
He'd suspected such, but had been doubtful. The more he thought about it and the longer they'd walk, the less doubtful they became. And now he had less doubt if he considered that the genet might be in on the Thief's plans as well....

The lioness accepted Vainamo's help, but not his whole conclusion. She shook her head at him.
"It's not my blood, I know it's them! Just because they're not my age doesn't mean I haven't spent time with my little brothers and sisters! I know what they smell like and I tell you they're close!" she insisted.
"But you're right, I think he brought us the long way around," Sarcire added with a disgusted glance at her injuries.

Furiko froze as he too realized they were much closer to the prides borders than he had meant to even bring them. On top of that the two silly escorts had finally figured out his plan. He had hoped to find a chance to escape before they got this far but it was too late now and he might as well have some fun with it. "Took you bright pair long enough to figure it out but you missed another key factor. Because of the terrain and taking the long way here you two are almost exhausted however I am still fit to go. Having grown up in the mountains this terrain was nothing for me." He told them with a sly grin. With two out of three exhausted Furiko had a fairly good chance even on his own to at least escape with his life but lucky for him he wasn't alone he just didn't know that.

Afina had been told by her grandfather to sit with the pombuka and wait. Sit here and wait, she just couldn't sit, her movements were iratic, pacing back and forth, staying still her body jittering with pent up energy, whe were her babies? Where we're they? Why had no one sent any news yet?
There was certainly an uproar in the pride but no one seemed to want to tell her aching with definite clarity. It was then that she spotted a familiar shape. Xenon. He would be bringing her cubs back and all would be well again. Wouldn't he? She couldn't see anyone following him. It was just xenon, on his own.
"where are my babies?" She calls out to her slate Gray mate tears rolling down her cheeks. Where we're they? She was sure Xenon would have them. Why, why weren't they with him?

Izzy Makani Furiko has witnessed a cubnapping, you may nominate a Kizi to snatch "Nuzhah" on your behalf if you would like! Syrius Lionwing Nuzhah has been snatched!
The two remaining cubs "Solenn" and "Ale" can be located by members of the Bahari and safely escorted back to the pride while the initial rescue attempts are made!

Xenon had been padding along on his own, undisturbed and otherwise deep in thought. His mind was a mess, terrified of what might have happened to his cubs and as such, he wasn't initially aware of his immediate surroundings. The flash of white, pink and yellow therefore went unnoticed and it was only when he glimpsed it out of the corner of his eye again that he froze. His chin lifted, and while he had seen Afina nearby, he was momentarily distracted by what he had seen on his immediate radar.
He took two steps back, just enough to observe who or what had wandered passed him and sure enough...
Relief flooded onto his features and then was promptly replaced by anger driven solely by concern. One of his cubs was wandering about in the foliage, but given her tiny size and the fact she was surrounded by flowers, it was unsurprising she had gone unnoticed by everyone! He could only surmise that due to her close proximity to the dens she had been kept safe as well.
"Solenn!" he boomed furiously, sweeping his paw down to scoop the cub up and deposit her on the dirt trail. "Where have you been, your mother has been worried sick!" he continued.
"Hi daddy!" the little cub replied wistfully and then promptly flattened her ears at what her father said. "...I was here the whole time? Right here, I didn't go far I just wanted to see the flowers..." she confessed and turned round to look at Afina.
"And mommy is right there, I didn't know she couldn't see me!" she whimpered apologetically.
