S'kor shook his head with a chuckle as Scarath relayed the Wingleader's offer. How generous of him. But it would surely raise the flagging spirits of the wing.
Scarath rumbled at the amusment of his rider as he flamed a patch of Thread to his left. Are we not competing Mine? He turned his head back for another piece of firestone. Taking the moment to look his rider eye to eye.
No Scarath, we're not. I will take the a chance away from another member of the wing. It will do them good. He felt the satisfaction from the bronze at the statement.

It didn't take much. Just a minor slip in concentration. He looked away from the skies into his dragon's eye. A voice shouted in his head just as a thread of silver brushed against his cheek.

Calanoth says that we are to tighten up the formation. The brown informed his rider, and then, without waiting, moved into his new position. I hear, and obey.
The reasoning was sound enough for the dragon, and he flamed the thread that flew near him.

F'law shook his head. This was a bit more difficult with greens and blues missing. He understood they had to do it though. Below him, he could feel Zurith begining to tire. The blue had put up a good fight.
Zurith swept side to side covering his patch. Long breaths of flame burst out before him.

He spotted a patch to his near right and shifted his wings to fly slightly more left. Avoiding the clump and leaving it for another in a better position to get. As he moved left a bit wrapped around his toe. He was gone and back in a breath. Hardly a scratch, he reassured his rider.

Z'fer and Bronze Calanoth: Burn Post

~ They fly well, those at home are resting and will be able to relieve those remaining soon. ~
It felt like they'd been in the air all day but it could only have been a few candlemarks at most. They had to be over halfway done with the Fall. If all went well when the next wave of riders went home they wouldn't have to come back.
Z'fer knew he was going to have to set up a solid rotation not based on color but on those who tired early but could return, those who just couldn't last a full fall and those who could last longer in one shot than two. He'd feel better with half his greens and blues than most of his blues and almost no greens.
Being their first full Fall it was a learning experience. Thankfully his riders had followed their training well and he hadn't lost a dragon from his wing yet.

'How is everyone doing Plexith?' D'lin asked, keeping a keen eye out for any more thread that might be headed their way. His shoulder,upper back and thigh ached from threadscore but Plexith was worse with that one ichor stained furrow down his side and a myriad of smaller scores.
'Only minor injuries reported in the last little while' Plexith told his rider and D'lin breathed a slight sigh of relief..minor injuries he could deal with, minor injuries were pretty much expected in a fall this long and hard. 'We are fine, we will see this fall through' Plexith assured his rider in a confident voice.

Wingleader bonus +5 to Burn DIce.

Cheryth had no sooner sent back a reply to Plexith then the crimson was forced to try and avoid an errant clump of thread, while her flames charred that clump to ash, neither she nor her rider saw the second one until it was too late. The bite of thread was enough to instantly send the crimson between however in a bid to destroy it before to much damage was done.

Returning to the fight, Ca'mil inspected the damage, relieved to see that it was only minor, a flesh wound. Certainly nothing that would take them out of the fight, or keep them from flying future ones.

N'mol and Tyeth continued to keep tabs on their wings and N'mol continued to hope that none of the riders currently in the air would tire or become seriously Scored before it was time for the Greens to return. That could be a problem, even though they were one of the furthest back wings.
Tyeth expertly blazed through more of the silver haze before them, not seeming to note the time it was taking to complete wave or Fall.

The brown turned his head, and F'nell fed him another piece of firestone. Thank you. He turned back to flaming, but F'nell found his mind drifting. Would they have enough firestone to keep this up with three weyrs? He shook his head, forcing his thoughts back to what they were currently doing.

Sorry. he apologized, rubbing the neck of his dragon once they came out from between. I should have been watching.

The wind shifted direction, bringing with it more thread.
Watch your left!
Tyeth glanced in that direction and abruptly veered to the right even as he let loose a blazing flame to consume not only random Thread but clumps that had formed as the wind blew the loose strands together.
He cleared the area as the wind died down again and a keen went up from the dragons. Another lost from some wing or other. N'mol didn't even ask from where. Doubtless there would be more deaths today, though they all hoped differently.

Plexith continued to fly forward, cutting a wide swath in the curtain of thread before them. D'lin wasn't sure how much longer this wave was going to last..but he was pretty certain that the blues couldn't hold out much longer. Some of them were decidedly slowing down. 'Plexith send the blues to Trine and call for any green's rested enough to continue fighting to return'
Hopefully the greens had rested long enough. He trusted his riders to know if thier dragons could return or not. In the meantime he would just have to keep fighting along with those whose dragons could stand the longer fall.
