Menolly smiled and answered cheerfully, "I do not mind a little pink at all. I have the plate ready for when you need it." Honestly, she would not have said a word in protest should he have added mushrooms even with her dislike of them. However, the pink truly did not bother her one bit and she was thankful that he would even go thought this much trouble for her.

"Oh good. I would've felt terrible if you didn't like it that way. Next time I'll remember to ask before I start cooking," he said firmly, giving Menolly a smile. "And thank you. It should be done in another minute or so," he told her, prodding gently at the tuna with his tongs to be sure.

ooc: *ish curious to see Wolfwood's reaction*

IC: "Oh, is no problem at all, really." She answered back, but then was completely distracted. Like last time, she suddenly grew! Since Wolfwood was paying attention to the stake, she gave herself the once over. The gaurdains were unfair, she still had the bumps, and they were bigger! Though they were not bigger by much and she had gotten used to the annying things that had no purpous in her mind.

Her hips were rounder, but that did not have a meaning to her. What she did love was that her hair was longer now. Taking a moment to re-do her ponytail, she was satisfied and enjoying the fun of having longer banges. Looking at her longer limbs, she had no way to tell if she had turned into an oger or something ugly, so she thought no more of her looks. Wolfwood would tell her if she were ugly and unattractive or not. Why it mattered, she was not entirely sure besides that she felt it would be harder for people to want to be around her if she were hidous.

Not speaking a word of the growth she just experinces, she waited silently for the food to be done.

(( whee I've already seen her. *checks the thread for growings all the time* She's gorgeous! whee ))

Wolfwood, too involved with making sure the tuna didn't burn, hadn't noticed what had gone on right behind his back. He poked at the steak one last time then, with a satisfied nod, said, "It's done now, Menolly. Can I have the pla--" As he was speaking, he had turned slightly to look at her and reach for the plate but he froze the moment he saw her, all thought off food burned from his mind. All he could do for about a full 30 seconds was stand there and stare at the pretty angel, his grey-blue eyes wide. When rational thought returned, he gently took the plate from her hands, removed the ever-so-slightly burnt tuna from the pan and then set the whole affair aside so he could turn back to Menolly. At first, he wasn't sure what to say and he awkwardly cleared his throat before he finally found his voice. "Wow. You look..." He paused and hastily cleared his throat a second time, a faint pink blush tinging his cheeks. "Why didn't you say anything when you hit your growth-spurt?"

ooc: ^.^

IC: Menolly didn't understand why time had seemed to stop when Wolfwood saw her, but it felt like it did. Her bright golden eyes, just watching what he did and waiting for a response. Here heart was going a mile a minute while he was silent. She was worried for that time that he really didn't know how to let her know she didn't look nice.

When he said 'wow' Her fears seemed to vanish and her own dark grayish cheeks darkened a little bit. She felt guilty the next moment as he asked why she didn't say anything, "I am sorry for not saying anything. I just grew a few minutes ago and I thought it might be distracting if I said anything while you were cooking." Thinking she had made him upset by her silence, her eyes went down some. For a reason she didn't entrly understand, she really didn't want to upset or disappoint Wolfwood even more then her own family.

Wolfwood laughed, turning to put the pan into the sink. "Menolly, no matter what, right now you're very distracting." When he said it, he turned back to her and froze, seeing her head down. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean that in a bad way," he hastily explained, worried she might have taken what he had said wrong. "I just meant that you're very pretty and every self-respecting male would have trouble focusing around you." He flushed brighter after the words had left his mouth, then, feeling more awkward than he had before, he moved to stand in front of the angel and drew her into a hug. "Umm, hey? Do you want anything else with the tuna? Like a dipping sauce or something?"

Menolly was both relieved and confused by Wolfwood's explanation. She was happy that she was not ugly to look at but confused as how it would work if he were always distracted. Since she didn't intend on going anywhere for very long, maybe she would not be distracting anymore.

Wolfwood smile was very lovely, she noted and her mood increased when she was hugged. Returning the hug warmly, she comfortably laid her head against his chest loving how much more comfortable a hug when an adult was now that she was one too, or maybe its just Wolfwood?

As he spoke she looked up at him and listened, shaking her head a bit, she answered back smiling happily, "No thank you, I do not need anything more with it,." With a light blush she adds, "Thank you for the complement." Wow, she thought about it again, Wolfwood said she was very pretty, it was of larger important to hear it from him, then her self assessment.

The second Menolly's head touched his chest, Wolfwood was overcome by a very male desire to keep her there in his arms, safe and warm..and apparently happy. He was about to close his eyes but, just then, Menolly smiled and he found himself returning it, his own a drunken parody of her's. "Are you sure? Might help the taste a bit. The tuna got a little burnt.." Seeing the blush come to her face, Wolfwood's smile widened into a grin and he replied, "And there's no need to thank me for telling the simple truth."

Menolly wanted to tell him that she didn't want to move; in his arms was right where she wanted to be, for now and ever. Giggled lightly, she was so happy and content that a giggle just found its way out.

Listening to his idea, she answered, "Your right, a taste will tell if it needs anything ;however, I bet its perfect." She would have nodded to her statement, but she didn't want to move her head. His handsome grin and sweet words, giggling again she beamed, her golden eyes dancing. Menolly was modest, it was the sweet words that caused her reaction, not just what they meant.

Wolfwood laughed, raising one hand to lightly ruffle Menolly's bangs. "I doubt it's perfect but I thank you for the vote of confidence," he said, grinning broadly. Then he glanced over at the plated tuna which was still on the countertop where he had set it. Unwilling to jostle the pretty female leaning against him, Wolfwood did what he could to shift as little as possible as he reached for the plate. Somehow, he managed to grab it without dislodging Menolly or dropping the food. "You get first taste. And don't worry about manners. Fingers and hands make good utensils," he said with another wide grin, holding the plate in front of her eyes.

Menolly giggled again as her bangs were ruffled. She had unlimited confidence in Wolfwood would have said that, only she was watching what he was doing. Listening, and happy that she was still in his arms, she was more then willing to take his suggestion. Removing one hand from her hug on Wolfwood, she reached for the tuna and pulled off a chunk that was a bit bigger then her thumb.

Not hesitating she put the food in her mouth and closed her eyes as she took in the flavor. Next an 'mm' sound resonated from her throat as she opened her dancing golden eyes, "The tuna is really good, a tad bit crunchy on the very, very top but that just adds to the great favor." Her tone was very happy and enthusiastic.

"It does? Or are you just trying to butter me up?" Wolfwood asked, giving Menolly a mock-suspicious glare. He couldn't maintain the expression long, though, and soon broke into a grin. "C'mon, Let's go sit down," he said, steering her to the couch and carefully taking a seat so he didn't drop the plate or dislodge Menolly.

Menolly giggled again, the mock glare was funny looking and she could tell he was not distrustful of her. She followed right beside him, and nearly started blushing at all the care he was taking with her. The consideration and being near him nearly had her heart skipping a beat.

It also amazed her how he was able to handle moving with her and keeping the plate steady, letting go with one hand, she helped hold the plate as they sat down. Sitting comfortably, she snuggled a bit against Wolfwood and look to him smiling.

Wolfwood glanced at Menolly and returned her smile as he set the plate down on his lap. When he was sure it was balanced properly and wouldn't fall, he used his now free hand to tear off a piece of the tuna steak and took a dainty nibble. He made a show of chewing the tuna then swallowed and smacked his tongue against the roof of his mouth before he finally said, "You're right. It is really good."

Giggling she replied, "See, I told you." Still smiling she took a bit more for herself. With food in front of her, she found it very hard to deny her stomach. She liked where she was and didn't really like the idea that soon they would move again. However, the stake was big and it would probably take a while. "Your and excellent cook, Wolfwood." Complimenting with all honesty and confidence, she ate a bit more reflecting how nice his name was to say.
