INNER_EYE Well from re-load they did. But thoese songs where completed around when load was completed, so they probably played them becuase,.. well they wanted to razz This time they have stuff in the studio that isnt finished, and I dont think they will play it live. Ya, I don't think they will play any new songs. The only reason there is a Reload is because there were too many songs for 1 cd.

~Shizzle-Bread-Izzle~ I wonder if it will be more like the early years (Ride the Lightning, Kill 'Em All, Master of Puppets, ect.) or like the Black Album. Most likely it will be like St. Anger. By which I mean no solos. I mean after hearing Kirk's input in Some Kind of Monster it's only expected. Any way it goes, i'll still buy the album. I bet it'll be awsome. This time there will be solos, and it wont be like St.Anger. St.Anger was a thing created of the moment (a long moment), and this time they will work wery diffrent from how they did with St.Anger. The music might be as heavy as on St.Anger but there will be solos and a more polished sound this time. So I dont think you have to worry, and Kirk has mentioned several times latley that he will do solos for the new album.

stratomaster like i said before i've never heard anything on st. anger. if kirk, the lead guitarist didn't have any solo's on teh album then wth did he play??? He and james wrote all the riffs for the songs, and he plays riffs (there are usaly 2 diffrent ones on top of eachother by the way). And kirk had never really been a part of the riff writing.

Well, since Lars is stupid and insists on drums being the loudest, most dominant instrument in a recording (and probably live as well) I can be rest assured that whatever the next Metallica CD will be, it'll be quite nauseating.

Well is has loud noise on St.Anger indeed, but before that? It is not bad. And why would you not want to hear the drums? The drums push the music forward ^^ Without drums it would just be... plain O.o

batosi6915 Do you guys have any idea yet as to what the new album is going to be called? No. The name is the last thing we need to think about, since they always pick the name when the songs are finished, or atleast most of them are.

When I first heard the St. Anger, I completely agreed with you. But I think the style is pretty original and has a cool tone to it. *shrugs*

I was on the Metallica chat forums and someone started a "Name the Next Album" board. And some were pretty funny, yet kind of mean. I kind laughed at one suggestion that said "Well, there was Load, Reload, but I doubt they'd have Download. So...what about PostRehab?" But, some of the suggestions were pretty serious. And others were quite funny.
