"Ahh I see, good plan." Seemed like he knew what to do; Leo resolved to stay at least somewhat close to him. Better than running around half-cocked. Scartching her arm, she sent a smile to the ghost who was keeping their area lit and the people near him. Surely being a bit friendly couldn't hurt. Even in these circumstances. And then she spotted Mei holding onto the shirt of the boil with the glasses, looking panicked. "Mei? Are you alright?" She seemed scared, although there was nothing threatening down here - that Leo had seen, at least.

Mort squinted further at the photo for several seconds before turning the photo over to view the mysterious numbers. "Mrrr . . . Recognize a couple've people in here. One on fire is younger Arel, and Red is ghoul with the same color clothes. She used to work here." But that story obviously made him grim-faced if they asked, he'd tell later, when they were less likely to be shot at from the presence on the other side of the door.
45- 52-16/ 188 . . . What did that mean? "Not sure yet, but good find." He committed the series of numbers to mind regardless, turning his attention to the ghoul clutching at his shirt.
"Hey," he said gently, noting her heavy breathing. "Ah, Mei she said? We're good, Mei. Dead-end hallways a-always lead to someplace; played enough video games to know. Just have to find." His free hand patted her shoulder in what he hoped was a consoling manner, the other still clutching at the cider bottle under his coat.
"Right, ah, names! Mortimer," the zomboil said, pushing his glasses up by way of introduction like he would a hat. "But Mort is short. You three new here, y-yes?"

"Oh, yes. Lets all just climb through the hole." He huffed, feeling a strange sense of deja vu as Jove gave him a shove forward, causing him to reluctantly follow the others.
Unfortunately, the hole came in Arel size only, making it a tight squeeze for some of the other students. Which for once, made the black dog thankful that his human form wasn't as large as some of the other students were. Jack would only know what he'd do if he got himself wedged in place, unable to move or turn around. Fortunately, once you got passed the entrance, it opened up into a rather spacious hallway. Providing more than enough space for him and the other students. It was dark however. Pitch black in fact and if it weren't for the natural glow of his eyes he'd be walking into walls and getting bruises with each step he took.
Lovely.
But at least Jove was also beside him. Between the two of them, the light they provided was more than adequate to prevent such a thing from happening. Besides, if they really needed the light, he was sure that he, Jove and any of the others ghosts present could light up the area with that ghostly glow of theirs.
"Can you see okay, Sparrow?" He asked, turning to look at where he though the reaper might be.

"Right, no worries." She backed Mort's words with what she hoped was an encouraging smile to the jiang shi. "And we already know there's an exit right here, so worst case scenario we'll just have to wait a bit until Arel sorts his things out." She hoped that was as reassuring as it'd sounded in her head. "Leo, nice to meet you lot." Casually waving her hand and attempting to look as friendly as possible, rather than frazzled like she felt. "I'm, uh, not actually new, but I haven't been around much. Family troubles, you know." It probably wasn't the time to go into depth, so she left it a bit vague.

Just as the last of the students crawled through the space, there was a loud thump as the bookshelf wall slid over the area, then what sounded suspiciously like a door bursting open on its hinges, things flying everywhere, scuffling, muffled yelling and the loud scrape of furniture, desks, everything being upturned-
- The bookshelf itself took a loud hit as it groaned and tilted to its side, just slightly.
- And then silence.
Though the small crack the bookshelf now left through the hole, the office was more of a disaster than usual, the entire desk upturned, empty cider bottles smashed, papers beyond torn, wrecked, and a very sad Shredder in the corner shivering and huddling. There were no signs of either the secretary or the questionable intruder.
There was also a note fastened on the unhinged, crooked door, written in a strong red, the only thing organized about this entire office:
"A RESIDENT OF THIS PREMISES HAS BEEN TAKEN FOR FURTHER QUESTIONING. Please contact 1 - 666 - 666-6666 if you have any questions or complaints."
Anyone standing close to the dead end of the cave would hear something even odder still: voices talking and arguing from the other side of the wall. The wall itself was still solid enough when tapped, though there was something else - something painfully obvious -
- The floor was hollow and through the crack of light from the upturned bookshelf, the shape of a large trap door could be seen.
OOC - The office is a DISASTER and it looks like ??? is gone. Students can choose to leave or perhaps explore the ???? cave further - Students can also ARRIVE too if they hear the rather well, loud raucous noise that came from the office

Jove gave Herryk a comforting pat-pat on the arm, which would be reminiscent of a little foxfire looking for attention with the patting of a paw. It wasn't so bad. After all, there were often mushrooms in dark places like this! Glancing over, he gave a similar pat-pat to the ghoul who looked frightened. They didn't have to be scared yet, there were worse things than being somewhere small and dark. Like being instantly punished by Arel. The dark became less dark as Tybalt joined them at the end of the hallway, now with two pairs of luminous eyes lighting the area. It was enough light for Jove to catch the smile directed at him from the unfamiliar ghoul. Was she smiling at him, or just... smiling? No, that was a smile at him. The pup blushed, his cheeks beginning to glow slightly as well. Not good! His embarrassment was only too obvious in the dark, and he couldn't afford to hide his face when there were so many people depending on his light! The pup did the best he could, abruptly pulling his scarf up over his nose like the world's tiniest bandit.

Shehk's ears perked right up at the noise of the scuffle outside of the cabinet, peering outside once it seemed to have settled before she frowned and turned back to those who were with them group.
"He's gone." It wasn't a helpful whisper, but rather a 'I don't know what just happened' sort of statement. Carefully, she walked back out into the office to survey the damage before she got to the paper on the door, frowning at it. That number..... would they even get a straight answer out of that at all?
Never the less, she took a moment to put the number into her phone and save it as 'CALL ABOUT AREL'. If she called too soon it'd likely be suspicious, but she looked back to the hidden pathway before she moved back to walk back into it. "Has anybody found anything in here?"

Leo listened horrified as the drama up in the office unfolded, and watched as a bit of light entered from where the now slightly sideways bookcase blocked the entrance. Okay. Total drama. Not the good kind either; this was the kind that made her hesitant to enter into the office again, despite the fact that the ray of light quite clearly revealed that this corridor was a dead-end. And the ominous silence. Except, thankfully, someone broke it. "Well, it seems to be a dead end. But what's the point of just having something like this, fill it with ounces of nothing and have it lead to nowhere?" Didn't make sense, at all. Really, if it hadn't been for the scuffle upstairs, she'd probably have been too busy cooing over the cute, luminous ghost with the scarf and the blush, and aww! As it was, Leo still spared him a grin, feeling slightly less doomsday with something to cheer her up.

A dead end....
"No, there's definitely something around here. I... I just.." The image of the tentacles at the end of the path in the library behind that shelf... it seemed too close - to similar - for her to not follow after this thought. To follow after what d**k had done before her.
She wouldn't be following his ways too closely, however.
As she moved further into the tunnel, she took a moment to pat Jove on the head. "You're being a good help." she grinned, unaware that he might have been wondering if she was going to eat him or not. She wasn't connecting the dots with him yet, after all.
She traced her hands around the walls, running her fingers over them to try and find anything - too bad she wasn't looking down at her feet, though.

Lumikki jumped as soon as the bookshelf received it's blow the sudden thump made it really hard not to squeak, but knowing that someone was on the other side she bit her lip trying not to make a sound. Watching a ghoul she hadn't met yet walk back in to the office she peered out after here. Oh what a mess the person made. She saw the sign the other ghoul was looking at, and started to read it outloud. "call...1 - 666 - 666-6666...oh wait my phone..."Pulling out her phone she put the number in to a message to Julian, she still didn't know how to use the phone other than to send messages. Reeshie Hack Text: Hi Julian! Uhm...could you just hold on to this number for me... 1-666-666-6666 Thank you! Well now that she had that number and of course a bottle of cider, seeing as how the other bottles were broken she looked back around. Seeing the students at the back of the wall, which looked to be pretty solid and then looking back down to the ground, saying to no one in particular, "Uhm....oh maybe the floor...?"demon_pachabel hope you don't mind she's just watching the person closest to her... Anyone wanting to look down at the trap door

"Dead-end? Think not. Find anything out there, Shehk?" Mort made a motion to come closer to Shehk, hoping her sharper sense of hearing would be able to catch something he couldn't. "Voices," he murmured, tapping the wall. "Also . . ."
The crack of light from the bookcase revealed something on the ground; looked like he wasn't the only one who noticed either. The zomboil approached and crouched by it, his free hand feeling for the edges. "Think f-found way out." He attempted to find something to pull the trap door open by.

"Right." She nodded seriously, moving to assist the pricolici. Imitating the other ghoul, Leo let her hands run over the wall, carefully feeling for anything that indicate a door, or a compartment, or something. Lower and lower she went, until a ghoul's voice broke in. The floor? "Uh yeah, I think I might have something." Down on her knees, she squinted. Yes, that was definitely a square in the floor. "Down here, on the floor. It looks like.." She cut off, frowning at the thing. "It definitely looks like something moveable."

Jove jerked backwards upon realizing SHE WAS RIGHT THERE. IN THE DARK SPACE. WITH THEM. In his panic he tripped over something and stumbled, falling onto his backside with a loud thud. A hollow thud. Ears perked, and he glanced at the trap door Mort was currently examining. He had tripped over a carefully disguised ring. The pup scrambled off the door so it could be opened, but also so he could get farther away from the ghoul who had once threatened to eat him.

Shehk's ears perked up as she looked down to the floor, passing a look over those who were present before she crouched down to run her hand over the edge of the door as well. The faint light and her night vision weren't exactly getting along, unfortunately, so the details were a bit fuzzy for her.
"Well, let's see if we can find a way to lift it, yeah? If it's too heavy, I could try to go through the edges...unless we have a ghost here..?" she took a moment to look around to se- well, Jove. Could he phase through things?
Or he would
just... ... ...

Watching a ghoul she had seen in her class and a boil she wasn't sure she had seen before, lean down to the look at the door in the floor, oh good she wasn't crazy. As she watched the boil looking around she wondered, rushing back out in to the office she looked for something metalic to try and pry open the trap door. Finding a few peices of splintered wood she came back, "uhm...maybe this could help try and pry it up?"She wasn't about to try and pull it up herself for starters she still had that bottle of cider, and after seeing all the bottles on the floor in the office she figured it might be safer not to drop this one.
