After losing sight of Willow, and the commotion of a gnome found dead, Kiwi had decided to investigate. He stepped into the room, cast a long glance across all the students and horsemen already gathered, and stepped across to inspect bookcase number 3.

A familiar (giant) figure swept into the room, approaching him and Levi and taking a look at the stairs for herself. It took West a moment to figure out who she was, but as he did, a slight grin pulled at his lips. She might have thoroughly kicked his a**, but at least she wasn't ignoring him because of it. Still, she registered as deserving of respect in the boil's eyes, so instead of waving, he inclined his head politely at the War horseman. He still didn't know her name, so he obviously didn't address her by it. "I guess she's fine," he replied with a shrug. The ghoul he had never seen before was being attended to by Merope and the other two horsemen they had been speaking with, so he assumed she was fine now. There was little he could do besides punch her in the chest a couple of times, and he doubted that was going to help, at least not in the conventional sense of the word. His thoughts lingered on what the chieftain had said about it being a game. Was it? No one outside of this room seemed particularly interested in calling the bogeys, although their corrupt police force could hardly be trusted anyway. West shifted closer to the tatzel but continued to stand straight and didn't lean toward the ghoul. He pitched his voice low as he asked her, "Think we should ask some questions're somethin'?" With the room filling up like it was, he was back to feeling itchy, like at any moment someone would look at the pair of them and see more than he wanted them to.

Freya puffed her bubble pipe and nodded sagely as she watched people begin to interrogate the dragon. Yes, it was clearly him, she had already solved this case - but it was good to give him a hard time about it anyway.

Eisheth paused for a moment. Perhaps, it would be a good idea to interrogate the gnomes as well. Are they allowed to torture them a bit? If so, that would be fun. So much fun, actually.
Except... where to find these little creatures?

" Well, it would be a suitable addition to the masquerade", Heidla agreed. " Masks, mysteries - was it with you that we discussed mask-wearing traditions? Well, murderers wear masks, too, - so there's nothing wrong with them staging a little murder riddle. And the president ghoul being kidnapped - another entertaining twist. Still, we have to get the name right - too bad, as I am not even acquainted with the suspects". She cast a long glance at the boil who was putting up a fight with the president ghoul earlier, and nodded to Eisheth: "No, it can't be him, that would have been too evident". Then addressed the boil directly: " Hate them? Any particular reason? Have they not served you well this time? - and what about the president, Junko? Any ill-wishers she had?"

"Their service is pretty crappy if you ask us. Lecherous bastards the lot too," Jericho grumbled while keeping his arms crossed, "As for Junko. The gnomes were having issues with her too. A hate-hate relationship exists there."

Oh, that was an interesting twist. So, the gnomes were not universally liked after all, as she had thought earlier. "And what about the gnomes? Do they like each other?" she continued questioning the boil.

Speak of the devil, a now pocket-empty gnome scuttled out from the doorway and attempted to make it all the way to the stairs without being seen.
"Seen but not heard, seen but not heard.. good little gnomes are seen but not heard.."
He sounded like he was chanting under his breath, but even the quiet sound had bitterness in it.

Levi reeled up just as West did, hissing at first when someone closely nudged her on the shoulder to also inspect the stairs. Oh- it was another horsewoman. Upon further inspection, the tatzel would begin to recognize that variety of attire. This ghoul was a War horsewoman. Thinking back, she'd had fond memories of War Isle and so the association was automatic. The horsemen in general seemed to have different customs and mannerisms, so the white-haired ghoul let the bump slide. Maybe a warrior from the War clan would know something about this sort of thing? Nope. She's movin' n' all. Levi just reaffirmed West's reply before answering aside to the boil. Reckon we could. But 'ho dun been lookin' suspicious right 'bout now? Looking around, Levi knew the red, recognized the igor from class, and shehk from a party. The student council had her trust. Moving on, Levi saw a pair of wings… wings…wings… Hel's sister? The tatzel had been told about the other valkyrie sister and in detail about their wing differences. She didn't look like Hel, but the features mentioned were the same. Maybe that ghoul? Looks awful happy fer some reason. No sooner than Levi suggested this did a gnome attempt to get up the stairs they were close by. AYE! Levi tried to chase and catch the whispery little bugger within the coils of her tail. It was her quickest reflex.

"AAAH-NO! NO NO NO LET ME GO LET ME GO LET ME GOOOOOO!!"
The unhappy gnome teetered in the air as he was held up by the tail.

Smerdle And then there was the person on the floor. If it really had been Junko that had just been dragged off, then why hadn't this other person been taken with her? "Is'she brea...?" he started, pausing as the ghoul whimpered. "Not dead!" West decreed, raising his arms and instantly flopping them back to his sides. Everything was fine. "Er, from what I can tell no?" Merope shrugged. He didn't know many people who did breathe, and he wasn't close enough to the ones he knew who did to know what breathing fully entailed. He only breathed on occasion; he had yet to know that breathing was a mandatory for non-undead and non-ghost students. nekoluch To the undead boil, she inquired. Ya'll right thar? Eh... Reckon they'd maybe had a mighty nasty knock in'tha' ol'noggin'? But in a good way? Yes, there was apparently a good way of being unconscious in her book. Or did he just- want to poke a body...? At this, Merope admitted the basics: "I have no idea what I'm doing. But I don't think she's supposed to be --" Prolixity Chaya's foot kicked at thin air again, and she made another little whimpery noise; her eyelashes fluttered once. "-- doing that," Merope finished, reaching over to Chaya and pulling her into a seated position. He let go, then grabbed her again quickly at the first sign that she was about to flop over again. "What do I do halp."When help did arrive in the form of two horsemen, Merope scooted around Chaya to help prop her up, but to stay out of their way. He watched them with curiousity, When Levi caught a gnome, Merope waved to the tatzel to try and get her attention. "Hey! Can I borrow that when you're done? I think... maybe...?" [ SN: Marushii ]

" They would just tell me a lie", Heidla shrugged his shoulders. " But then I presume there are no evident fights between them, else you would have told me" " Oh, what a perfect timing", Heidla smiled viciously, looking at the gnome caught with someone's tail. "Look who's here," and nodded to the tatzelwurm: " Thank you, that was handy!" " Now, Sir Gnome", she continued " How do you feel about the death of your comrade?"

At the voices of the behind her confirming that the girl lying on the ground was probably fine, Shaheen finally turned to take a glance for herself, still crouched down at the top of the stairs with her arms resting on her legs. "Did somebody hit her on the head?" She asked, only mildly curious about how the student had ended up in that position to begin with. She hadn't seen any signs of a fight breaking out back here earlier, when she had been over by the fireplace, so it seemed a little odd that there would be anybody passed out on the floor now. Mind you, it was also a little odd that a gnome was supposedly dead, and that the..student council president? Whatever that was, had been taken away as well. While she didn't appear to be all that interested in what was going on around her, she couldn't help but overhear the other horsewomen interrogating a student. Suddenly feeling a bit restless, she shifted her position, straightening back up to her full height, her wings seeming to stretch just the tiniest bit away from her back before settling back down again. As she turned, she caught a flash of something as it made it's way towards the stairs, and smirked with faint amusement at the girl who's tail lashed out to try and ensare the gnome that was attempting to sneak past. "Well caught." Shaheen even sounded amused as she cocked her head to the side and stared at the gnome like a bird of prey might look at her dinner.

"We don't pay enough attention to them to know if there's been any fights," Jericho shrugged before turning to see one of the gnomes snatched up by Levi's tail. With a huff, he grumbled something about it being there, then sulked on away once more.
