An older woman came in to order breakfast and Ginny hurriedly took the order out back. As she was returning to her post, she noticed Chris sitting at his usual table. At least it looked like Chris but with a pair of nerd glasses. Ginny wondered if they were just for show or if he really needed to wear glasses. Only one way to find out... She walked over to his table and pulled out her order pad and favorite pen. "Hey there, cutie. Can I get you anything this morning?"

"And maybe an order o pancakes." he laughed, closing the menu he had been staring at unseeingly. Why hadn't Ginny said anything about the glasses? Did she like them, think they were weird? Dammit, there you go again, Chris mentally scolded himself, a scowl slipping on and off his face quickly. "We'll see," Ginny said, smiling in response to Chris's first request. "However, I am bound by my position to provide you with the food you request." Turning on her heels, she walked out back with his order and returned with a pot of fresh coffee. Filling the mug that was sitting in front of him, she took a seat across the table and set the pot down. "So these glasses of yours... are they real?" She moved a finger closer to Chris's face and smirked when it came in contact with the lens.

"You want?" he pushed the coffee mug towards her, trying to change the subject, all of a sudden not interested in her opinion about his glasses. Ginny smiled as she listened to Chris explain his situation. She opened her mouth to speak but was cut off when he slid his coffee mug toward her. "No thank you," she said, placing a hand on his to stop him. "I had some as soon as I got here. I can't have more than one mug or else I'll be bouncing off the walls." She chuckled and kept her hand where it was, rubbing her thumb on Chris's hand. "Anyways... I should probably get back to work..." Ginny stood up slowly and collected the coffee pot. "But I'll be back with your food, and by the way, I like the glasses. I think you should wear them more often." Smiling, she returned the coffee pot to the maker before taking a couple's orders.

"Ok," he smiled. "I'm gonna finish up and go, I have a test today." he grimaced. He let her go and dug into his pancakes, a silly grin on his face for the rest of the morning. He promised that he would wear his glasses more often than his contacts now, and it made him feel nice inside; as cheesy as that was. Ginny pouted slightly when Chris said he had a test today. "Promise you'll say goodbye before you leave?" She looked at him for a moment before getting back to work. She took a few more orders, brought some people drinks, and had time to bring out food for a table of seven before finding Chris waiting for her. "Hey," she said with a smile. "Good luck on your test! Will you let me know how you did when you're done...?"

Ginny listened to Chris and looked down at his hand when he held out the money. Taking it, she continued listening to him speak as she opened the register and got his change; she would not let him get away with giving her a ridiculous tip again. Since his meal came out to a little more than 10 dollars, she gave him back 14 plus change. "Sure," Ginny said, smiling as she put the money into his hand. "Five is fine. Or you can just get me at my apartment around 5:30?"

Ginny said goodbye to Chris and blushed profusely when he kissed her on the cheek. She watched him go before returning to work. When she was finally done for the day, she called the daycare on her way home to let them know she would be late again. Walking into her apartment, Ginny immediately made her way to her room to tear up her closet. When she first moved into the place and did not have the jobs she did now, Ginny was forced to sell many of her old clothes and jewelry to afford rent and daycare for Alex. That was one of the reasons why she found it so difficult to pick out an outfit for her date with Chris. I hope he doesn't start to notice that I wear the same things all the time... she thought, pulling on the same jeans and shoes from yesterday. Sighing, she walked back into the living room to sit on the couch and wait for Chris.

It was 4:13, 2 hours after the exam started, approximately, and Chris only had a bit of time to get home and get ready. He showered and combed his hair, and just changed his shirt and got a sweater. When Chris looked at the clock, it was already 4:45 and he needed to get to Ginny's soon. He ate a banana and grabbed his wallet, stuffing some extra money in there from the safe that usually held his rent money. I need a job... Chris thought to himself, knowing the money his parents sent periodically wouldn't last him. Finally, at around 5:15, he began walking and got to Ginny's apartment a few minutes late. He knocked on the door, a small smile on his face as he waited for her to open the door. He hoped that she liked his date idea... Ginny did not have to wait long for Chris to show up. Although he was a few minutes late, she did not mind because it gave her time to calm her nerves a bit. Standing up, she collected her purse and opened the door, smiling up at her date. "Hey!" She looked him over quickly and breathed a silent sigh of relief, thankful that she was not too casual for their date. "So how was your test?" Ginny pulled the door closed behind her and locked it before dropping her keys into her bag. She then slipped one of her hands into Chris's and waited for a response.

Let's just say it would've been easier if I studied." Chris laughed, starting down the stairs. "You look great, by the way." he smiled softly, giving her a tender look. "So... I thought we'd go to the zoo." he flashed two tickets for the cable car, "And we have to go on one of those to get there." he smiled. Chris had always loved the cable car, ever since he was a kid. Ginny walked with Chris, smirking when she noticed he was leading her toward the stairs. Good, she thought, glad that he was not going to be lazy tonight. She listened to him talk about his test and nodded. "Yeah, I certainly don't miss that," she said, thinking nothing of her comment. As they walked down the stairs, Chris complimented her, causing her to blush. "I'm not even wearing anything cute," Ginny said, looking down at her jeans and hoodie. When he mentioned the zoo, her eyes shot up to his and she smiled. "Really?" she asked, remembering how Alex was when she took him to the zoo. "And the cable car? Man, I haven't ridden that thing since I was little!" Ginny opened the door to her apartment building and they stepped out into the evening air. "Let's go!" she started pulling him toward the cable car stop, eager to get on it as soon as possible.
