"I'm afraid everything hurts, Nurse Stine," he said with a weary smile. He had been surrounded and almost torn to pieces by Kishin Eggs, shortly followed by a high-speed motorcycle wreck. There didn't seem to be anywhere he wasn't bleeding. "I confess I haven't felt this bad in quite a while..." he looked up at her. "Sorry to trouble you like this; I wish I could be of more help." He added apologetically.

Miles nodded, accepting the medicine gratefully. He quickly popped it open and took a pill. "Thank you Alice," he said. He looked over at Okami. "Don't worry, I promise to take care of myself." The pain eased slightly as the medicine took effect. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes. "Do you mind if I lay here for a bit Alice? I don't feel as if I can march all the way back to my dorm room."

"My thanks again," Miles said. "If you don't mind me asking, would you perchance be related to Frank N. Stine, one of the strongest Miesters to graduate from the DWMA?" He asked her curiously.

"I see," Miles replied. He figured she must have meant the footsteps of madness. Frank N. Stein was well known for suffering from madness. Idly he wondered if Alice suffered any affects of the madness. An unpredictable yet powerful force. He thought to himself, remembering what he had been taught. "I never meant to imply that you did," he added with a friendly smile. "I was just curious. Do you by chance have any meister powers?" He asked.

Miles nodded at her statement. "I'm sure that must be...difficult," he said. Never having experienced madness and only having seen it several times, he was unfamiliar with it. But he had heard more than enough stories to be aware of what it could do to someone. "There are few I respect more than those who can control their madness."

Miles paused, unsure how she would react to his next question. "...what was it like?" he asked her, hoping he wouldn't offend.

"Ah, I didn't mean to make things difficult for you," said Miles, noticing she seemed to be in pain. "It sounds like what I would expect." He stared up into the bright lights on the ceiling, seeming to lose himself in thought. He thought back to the orphanage he had spent his first 8 years of his life in and the two friends he had had there. One of them had suffered a madness attack once or twice. It was the only time he had seen it before. It had been terrible to witness. It had been so long since he'd seen them both, he wondered where they were now and if his one friend had fallen to madness.

He looked over at Alice. "Do other students here suffer from madness as well?" He asked.
