Oinqa's eyes widened at Argyle's sparkly warning. Pretty. She was about to say so when she noticed a crackling series of nets springing up out of nowhere in front of her. She heard several familiar shouts echo through the cave, but instead of heading back to help them, the ghoul broke into a sloppy jog, stumbling forward through the newly opened corridor.

The sound of something snapping up and slicing through the air caught Argyle's attention, and he turned just in time to avoid ensnarement by one of the humming nets. " WHAT DID I SAY. Maybe if we'd turned around in time we wouldn't have this problem bu no, I try to look out for you and look what happened!" His voice was a furious screech as he threw his arms up in defeat, surveying the Very Obvious Trap Problems all around them. After calming down just enough to be able to think again, he hefted his phone up into his hands and angrily clicked away against the keys, muttering frustrated nonsense aloud as he typed. Iizbot Message to Vanth:WELL THE DEFENDERS ARE GOING TO GET US ALL KILLED SURPRISE TELL EVERYONE I TRIED ANYWAY He was going to get his damn credit for this posthumously if he had to, thank you.

It didn't take long before Vel realized that a number of students were now trapped within the nets. Hearing d**k and Cricket, she looked at the two then at the cave ahead.
"This party is getting heated real fast. I'm going in!" she called out before casting a glance to the others who were still standing. Without another moment to spare, she went into the cave's opening, keeping a sharp eye out for anyone that was around. SOMEONE had to be around. There were no automated traps like that earlier after all.

Pushing passed the boil Quin continued on ignoring the fancy sign he had written along the wall. " Whoever dis is needs ta be stopped. Come on, Dicky." Quin was right along side Vel as they pressed on, the vampire geared up and ready for a fight to break out at any moment.

Son of a ******** b***h. Just when they thought they might be safe, nope. ******** denied. Snarling, Rengath couldn't help it. This is why he stayed out of people's business. Cricket was saying she'd stay back, which to him was ******** stupid. Argyle was- "SERIOUSLY ARGYLE? RIGHT NOW?" The guy was more a drama queen than him, and Rengath had taken classes for that s**t. "Can you stop being a b***h for like, one hour? Jack-" Later in life, Rengath would reflect on how much he was a douche. But when he thought about DETH, he'd always fondly remember Argyle writing on the walls in his blood. So Pro.

His expression visibly fell when Tarot shook her head, but a tiny bit of hope welled up in his chest when she suddenly pointed somewhere past him. Slowly, very slowly, the boil turned and glanced over his shoulder.
All he saw was a net...and a figure trapped beneath it.
Oh Jack no.
"Can we...can we get it off?" He seemed uncharacteristically quiet as he followed after Tarot, thinking back to a minute ago when he had dodged the net. Just the slightest graze had sent a jolt of pain through his wing--how would it feel to actually have the thing wrapped around you? It was already bad enough imagining such a thing happening to a stranger, but if it was really his bro, then...

Trying to keep up with the others, Maggi found herself becoming lost in the darkness of the cave, with nothing to guide her save distant voices of other students. Eventually though she managed to find the main group, untill something flew out of the wall and pinned her to the ground
It was a net
Maggi didn't like nets. It felt like being in a cage. And being a bird...well, she personally disliked cages.

She could admit it. She'd gotten lost. Worse than lost. Terribly, horribly, entirely lost just because she'd stopped to examine some glowing mushrooms. Tex's hand had been in hers one moment, and then the next, she was lost. LOSTTTTTT.
When she entered the large corridor, she was horrified to hear crackling, and then to see the nets around everyone ...
Her eyes searched the area for Tex. He couldn't be in a net. He wouldn't let them ... and yet there were so many students in nets. She looked around frantically for her cowboil. Where was he? Maybe he escaped. Yes that was it. Tex was safe. He went down that open-
Her heart sank. He wasn't safe at all. May ran over to him and crouched down, screaming, "Tex! and then a series of, "Tex ... oh Tex oh Tex oh Tex what did they do to you .... Ohhh my Jack. Are you okay? Tex ..." She wanted to pull him out, or at least touch him, but no. There was an electric net between them and she couldn't do a single thing. Her voice was a low whimper now. "Tex what did they ... how ..." Her baby boillll.

Westhor was lost - for an extremely long time. Sure, he had Avery with him, but they somehow got separated, and he found himself wandering about, lost. Still, by some stroke of good lucky, the Lightning Elemental found his way to the others, so glad to see some familiar students - or rather familiar light sources - that he practically ran the whole last stretch of road.
"BROOOOOOS! SISTTTTTERS!" He yelled, just in time to hear a crackle of something before he tripped over his own foot - falling just as he felt something whiz past his head. Were they being attacked again? He froze up at the thought, remember the pain, the fear, the helplessness he had felt before; he had tried to be brave - like his Thor bros - but in the end, was he just being a hindrance again?
His light illuminated someone nearby though, a face - a very, very familiar face. Someone he had loved for the past 3 years... And he looked like he was hurt. Suffering. He whimpered, crawling over to his bro, trying to put on a brave front, just for him, even if he was practically shaking from uncertainty, "Akithor... Akithor bro. I'll come back for you, okay? Cricket sister will take... Will take good care of you. I promise, bro."
He lightly bumped his fist against the boil's fist before standing up, sniffling as he ran forward, "MACTHOR? MACTHOR BRO?" He can't lose both of them.... He can't...

"See anyone yet, Quin?" Vel asked while she continued to move forth. She knew the vampire and the cockatrice had her back. They might have tussled, but when it came down to it, she knew she could rely on her fellow Defenders.

While others talked, the gaping dragon did what his kind did best. He poked at the stone blocking the path trying to decide what kind of rock it was, how it was made, was it FEAR Magic or something else? Fingers pressed against it, at one point he flat out licked it.
Then the blue light happened, even with his eyes in the dark he could see it coming as he spun around, his chest ripping open in a howl of rage and fannged ribs. It did nothing though as the wave of burning pain cut across his body slamming him against a wall and tumbling him down. Just a quick as his mouth opened it was snapped shut as the net tightened around him.
"DAMMIT!" He snarled thrashing on the ground hissing and swearing in his native tongue, "Burns... git eet off.... GET IT OFF!"

"M... May..." he gritted out. "Ru...n." He didn't want her here, he wanted her safe, he wanted her as far away from Amity as she could get. But he couldn't say it. It had taken all his strength just to say those two words. There were two of them. And people were going missing.
All he'd wanted was to graduate and get a ghoulfriend! Apparently that was too much to ask around here.

"No," May stammered out, "I won't leave you Tex. I won't leave you!" Her boil was in so much pain and there was literally nothing she could do. She had to sit there and watch him, writhing there under the net.
Shaking her head she said, "No Tex! I won't do it!" Her voice reached a shrill scream, but it was only to cover her voice from shaking. She would never forgive herself if she left him, in pain like that.
"Just ... just tell me how to get you out. We-We can fix this! Just ... Tex please..."
